AudioConsumerIf arrogance was a podcast…… it would be listening to Bill Maher talk about any subject. There are few people who seem to enjoy their own farts more than Bill Maher. Listening to anyone else.
-
MN1(SW)Thank youI truly appreciate your show and podcast. Your perspective helps keep me grounded. I tend to naturally lean right (retired navy), but also do not want to be trapped in a self imposed prison / sounding tube, as so many on either side do. We may not agree on some points, but that’s the true point of any true conversation!otherwise, you might as well be talking into a mirror. Keep it up!
-
Estone2112PassI gave it a few episodes a listen. Maher won’t shut up and often doesn’t know what he’s talking about (I cringed during the Tarantino interview) the smoking weed thing is lame, the topics veer off toward nowhere. If the guest is interesting it’s fine but that’s basically every podcast.
-
P. UtzFun and InformativeBill does a great job in a long interview format. Bill uses his vast knowledge of history and world events, along with his insightful personal views on life to get the most interesting responses from his guests. The interview is conducted in an intimate one on one setting creating a voyeuristic listening experience. As if you were sitting at the table next to the two in 'My Dinner with Andre'
-
machistejrWho are you?First off, I think Bill Maher’s show and podcast are great. However, being a baby boomer I find I don’t know a lot of his guests. Also, the podcasts are usually too long. When I know the guest the show is great, but please shorten it a tad Bill. Keep up the great work.

spottedowldesignAnnoying drunk girl at the barThere’s a reason why people are sober when recording. So the audience doesn’t have to feel like they’re at the bar two hours after their friends already did. Some episodes are not bad but some are hard to listen to. Tell me more drunk uncle of the thing you think is so funny that has already been said throughout time…oh and take 5 minutes to get to the end of your sentence so I can fake laugh so we can move on.
-
Just another mol Elizathis sad old manmy god dude hang it up this shriveled larry king looking stage 4 cancer patient babbling abt the 70s nobody cares, bill. the wold moved past u now u r irrelevant and increasingly sad just give it up
-
loomasaurisCringe - Bill is a boomer beta hack - pick me ! Pick me !Trash - don’t waste your time! Bill , go watch some Carlin YouTube videos and get a clue ! Good comedy speaks truth to power and doesn’t punch down on easy targets like Facebook bots that comment on the LA fires ! Oooh, what courage! Bills interview with Matt Gates literally made me throw up in my mouth . Why would you have him on talking about the virtues of being a sugar, daddy? Cringe . You’re so edgy well it was so nice to hear you on pod save talking about your personal chef and all your assistants.
-
DjwjcdiwospskmcmmksLet Bryan talk!!Love Bill’s podcast and I listen so often I already know what Bill thinks. Please let Bryan complete a sentence!
-
SoarnlowTrue colorsWell, Bill’s smart enough to come back from his left extremist views for fear of losing half his audience members. So every now and then he throws in a “the left are this that n the other” in a negative view just to keep the right somewhat entertained, but in this podcast, he could not help himself but show how much of a radical he really is! He’s a fraud! Great job Michael keep that loon in check!!
-
whackybobMichael FrancezeI have no problem with bill interviewing people with opposing opinions. But this guy is a “ Christian “ who has given up his past life. But all he does is talk about it to make money. A complete phony
-
ArthurChilliFranzeseWow was that interview annoying. Bill, you said when you started this podcast it wasn’t going to be political, u have a mob guy on… and you talk politics! I turned it off listening to that moron talk about how he hates liars…. yet fully supports the greatest liar in our history, DT. That was all so painful. If you want to talk politics, do so with smart people. Talk mob stuff with mob people. Perhaps you did later in the show, but I couldn’t get past his Jan 6th nonsense.
-
Maher DemocratYou are great Bill but…Big fan of Bill’s HBO/max show. But the podcast reveals another side to Bill which is not always flattering. Too repetitive on political and cultural stances that all fans, even casual observers, know. It would likely be a more compelling listen if you allowed guests to string 2-3 sentences together without interrupting. Why bring guests on if they don’t have a fair chance to express themselves? Wouldn’t it be more of a dialogue if guests stated their opinions fully and you countered when in disagreement or support when in agreement?
-
The coolkid 2Too repetitiveI have listened to many club random episodes. I find many of the guests interesting but have a couple of complaints. The first is that Bill Maher is way too repetitive. He tells many of his guests his story about the idea for this podcast or about his thinking about marriage, etc. What he seems to fail to remember is that the audience has heard it many, many times before. He even uses the exact same words and inflections. No new insight or anything. That is super boring. Also, Bill thinks he’s better informed than he really is about many topics. He has a superficial patina of knowledge about a topic and then it’s a lot of generalities and vague references. One notable exception is history. You don’t know what you don’t know. I do appreciate that he isn’t afraid to go against his own side (which is my side) and speak heretical truths. It is nice to hear from people with a diverse range of perspectives. I hope, if Bill reads this, it will be taken as constructive criticism and not blown off. Even with my frustrations I listen fairly regularly and just fast forward through the repetitive parts.

kt says noGaetz limpWas hoping for more out of the Gaetz interview really softball and disappointing. I expected better
-
GeoplanterMatt GaetzMy definition of “Horseshoe Theory” is both Bill Maher & Matt Graetz agreeing that drinking, drugs and illicit sex are cool, normal and representative of American freedom.
-
NevelsscMatt Gaetz interviewThis is what I respect most about Bill’s work. My mind was completely blown by the Matt Gaetz interview. Because of media coverage I always assumed he was a moronic hack. And without Bill’s interview I would have never had this experience with a side that I have rarely agreed with. I’m not saying I agree with Matt’s policies but I may agree with more than I think. Thanks for getting me out of the bubble.

FrenchiePaisleighEntertainment at Its BestI'm a huge fan of Bill Maher. Real Time is my favorite show and I’ve been watching for about 11 years when I really got into politics. Bill’s podcast is great and it shows a different side of him. It's him in his own element and the discussions are raw and compelling. Although I honestly wish that every episode of his podcast focused on politics because I can never get enough, he shows that he is multifaceted and can talk about many different subjects. For example, I knew that Bill was a history major in college, but I never realized how well-versed he is on history, culture, people, religion, and the world in general. He's an extremely smart man and I thoroughly enjoy hearing his thoughts on life. He also chooses great guests. My favorite so far have been Seth Macfarlane (huge Family Guy & American Dad fan here), Jerry Seinfeld, and Sam Harris. If you are looking for deep dives into a interesting topics, you will love this podcast. If you are already a fan of Bill Maher, you will love this podcast. If you lean to the right, I think you will love this podcast because Bill is a straight shooter and is a man who values common sense.
-
DannyBoy606Smart comedy, occasionally funny when in centerBill is smart and funny. This setup works, guests feel relaxed and intimate. Love the episodes when the guest has an opposing point of view. The worst episodes are when another lefty lib rolls in and there is no disagreement on anything. For example Sam Harris interview was impossible to get through. Stay in the middle Bill.
-
IzzybowlesOn and onFor the love of Christ Bill- LET YOUR GUESTS TALK!!! I really wanted to hear what the healthiest man in the world had to say. Instead it was Bill once again justifying his own lifestyle. How many times have we heard it? He’s like an old man who repeats the same stories and ideas again and again. Bill listen back at the episode and see how little your guest was allowed to speak. Embarrassing.
-
saperloSorry you lost the election BillYou have to listen to the Dr Phil episode where he predicts the election results in detail for some actual comedy. He sits there, high handedly criticizing Trump all the time but man does that look lame now
-
JDHappyNot as relevant as he believes he isHave been a long time Bill Maher fan. Not so much anymore. This podcast is a waste of time for everyone but Bill. Who cares if he drinks and smokes with celebs? We know Bill, you’re cool. If you happen to catch Bill’s newest Chicago special you will learn that Bill is right about everything and was first to be right! He says so 50x, at least. Bill has officially jumped the shark!
-
dedeferreLet’s vilify minorities smh 🤦🏽♂️Really Bill, 15 % transgender ? Let’s do some research instead of hating on ppl! Even in the gay community transgender is minority times 100! This has no impact on anyone but their own families but sure let’s make them the bogeyman ! How boomer thinking masked as open minded 🙄 And calling ppl who sympathize with those families struggles as “woke”?! You grow up and do some research instead of playing and blaming democrats for why Trump won!
-
#####mmm######Jane Fonda Always WinsWhen is this woman getting her own show?
-
Smungo1Who’s the guest? There’s no doubt that Bill is a bright, insightful, hilarious individual . So are many of his guests I assume, though sometimes it’s hard to tell because Bill talks over guests and often times answers his own questions. Those of us who are Bill Maher fans and listen (and watch) regularly know plenty about Bill, I want to know about his guests.
-
James (50)Not for tribal idiots.Love the show. Great guests with a variety of backgrounds and opinions. Definitely not an echo chamber which is refreshing. Thanks Bill for having a voice that is your own and that has not been captured by the prevailing winds of group think. I don’t always agree with you, but I believe that you believe in what you are saying which makes you authentic.
-
HdggggggggClub random drinking game:Take a shot every time Bill says “that’s what I hate about the democrats!” Take a sip of beer/cocktail whenever he complains about the work. You’ll be buzzed within 10 minutes and wasted after an hour. I’ve actually been announcing the time stamp out loud to my spouse every week for months now when he starts to complain. I actually like Bill Maher and have listened for 30+ years since PI, but frankly I need to take the edge off of these days because he seems to have developed a form of Tourette’s where he can’t stop complaining about his fan base. I hoped he’d age into the type of old man who isn’t negative and complaining all the time, and would stick to comedy, but here we are… still a show worth listening to, but sometimes I skip the episode if I don’t feel like going through the emotional equivalent of listening to my mother complain about the fact that I haven’t had kids yet and dare to wear my hair or makeup in a way she doesn’t agree with for 2 hours. Yeah.
-
teo del fuegoThe most fascinating conversationsEven when the guests are people I have no interest in, Bill brings out their best with this free form format. Never a dull moment
-
Porterhouse0Love the show but…You interrupt your guests way too much, Bill! I literally listen to every show AND love Real Time. But man there are times I’m like come on let them talk!!
-
Beefy McDufflebagsGuy’s schtick has gone quite staleHe’ll never get over Trump or his own ego.
-
Laughing until my sCrazy townBill and Jane Fonda ! So entertaining! So out of touch! Haven’t laughed this hard in ages!
-
Durst98The more I listen…The more I get tired of hearing Bill Maher interrupt his guests with jokes that constantly fall flat. He’s not a funny as he seems to think he is. Funny sometimes. I understand it’s just a rambling conversation most the time, but when a guest tries to make a point he interjects with some irrelevant nonsense and then derails the whole thought. “Where were we…”
-
InsomnivourMedical hi-jinxI love ya Bill, but…you and Levi riffing on medicine and how you’d LIKE vaccines to work best. Really? Please, just have a panel on your show about vaccines already. Have three medical professionals that know the topic and put the subject to bed. Don’t let Neil degrasse Tyson be the authority. Out of his element.
-
jjandbNeeds to be more neutral on medical stuffI wish Bill would have a physician like Paul Offit on one of his podcasts. He speaks the truth about COVID and vaccines. Causing vaccine hesitancy is a problem.
-
T Money MYLIUSBill is just another version of TrumpBill is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with our country at the moment. Completely out of touch with reality and the common man, he thinks his ideas and beliefs are all that matter and it shows in his overbearing and dominant conversations with people far smarter and more in tune than him. He’s so stuck in his beliefs that he’s unable to learn from others. He’s not capable of research and must rely on the information he’s told and therefore he’s just one more Democrat sycophant in the system of destruction. Put down the Pipe and the Booze and pick up a book or a study that you don’t agree with Bill. You’re smarter than this and I promise you’ll learn something.
-
LizardPizardProblematicI love Bill Maher. I love his show. Sometimes I like his podcast. I’m not a woke liberal that thinks we should cancel everyone, but he tends to excuse male bad behavior so easily. I know that the press doesn’t always tell the whole story, but sometimes you can laugh away some behaviors but not all of them.
-
cantthinkofanameFunny Fake psychopharmacologyLet’s face it, the guy knows how to talk. Listening to he episode w Ben Shapiro he asserts weed isn’t addictive. It is. I’m a weed addict. While I’m high all day and work and live, I’m an addict. Maybe Bill can control weed, I can’t. Many can’t. Doesn’t mean we can’t live or work like an alcoholic, but i am addicted to weed.
-
AllHailKAllHailKGen ZBill should have YouTube’s Rashad Crenshaw on his podcast or show. He is so good at freestyling.
-
Danny Boy XIXBill has great moments, but this show is on and offI like Bill. Wouldn’t consider him an “intellectual”, but he does quite a bit of thinking outside the box/ independent thinking. I like that he is mature enough to criticize both the right and the left, and he often does it with good humor and sarcasm. That said, Bill’s strengths come through much more clearly on his HBO show. Maybe it’s the benefit of a competent team of writers, maybe he just thrives in a slightly more serious (less stoner) setting. On the other hand, his weaknesses become a bit too much to handle on this Random platform: his constant interrupting and talking more than his guests; how clearly drunk or stoned he gets as some of the interviews progress (Bill is really a much more interesting person sober); and, quite frankly, a bit of immaturity that I never quite saw on his HBO show. Case in point, I just tried to listen to his convo with the Skinny Confidential hosts. Sure, they are a couple of 30-some year olds, Bill could be their old dad or even young granddad. Maybe Bill was trying to climb down the age ladder to “meet” their guests at a younger level. But boy, was it boring to hear a 68 year old talk about how he still enjoys the “stage 1” of his life, and ask what exactly Michael and Lauryn did in bed to keep sex life spicy, etc. I don’t judge Bill for that, but I certainly don’t want to get to age almost 70 thinking about how young people please each other. I wasn’t disturbed or disgusted, just bored. Turned it off, looked for the most recent episode of Real Time on HBO.
-
PCOSKellyBill, stop being so disrespectfulIt’s hard to hear you being so cocky and disrespectful to certain guests like Henry Winkler. It’s weird.
-
Laccci092310/21/2024 episodeI have been listening to this podcast on Ian’s off for the past year. Have generally enjoyed it. Will be unsubscribing. It’s one thing to be an atheist. It’s another thing to insult the Catholic religion by saying that God f*<#% ed a Palestinian woman and had a baby. First of all, this is not even biblical— the Virgin birth by its name says there was no sex involved. But how cruel to defile the name of God like that.
-
RapidRob914Bill Maher is smart ?How did this guy ever pass himself off as some intellectual ? Has he just degenerated over the years ? Lost his fast ball? I know he’s getting near 80 years old but geez bill check back into reality every so often.
-
nick&ameIllogicalPlease let the guests speak, otherwise why invite them? Also, Why does he preach don’t hate Trump Supporters even though they don’t believe in women’s rights and believe in all kinds of nonsense, conspiracy theories and hateful rhetoric and yet he does not extend the same courtesy or grace toward people who believe in Islam and excoriates them for the exact same stuff?
-
Javamom23Why have any guests at all?I have been a Maher fan for many years, but his astounding arrogance and ‘look at me’ insecurities have made this podcast almost unlistenable. He talks and talks and talks but barely gives his guests an opportunity to speak. His pontificating is boring and exhausting. This podcast is merely a vehicle for his own ego, so I’m out. What a disappointment.
-
gypo77Only would listen for guestsBill is enamored with his ego.
-
themaker03Let them speak!I feel like you bring people on to use as a prop to try and show how smart you are. You have some really good guests, but your continual interruptions are frustrating, and downright rude. You’re smart, we get it. Fine, but you also have smart guests. Interesting guests. I listen to your show to hear them, however, it’s becoming frustrating and to the point where I won’t bother. Shame.
-
Edgelord 4000Bubble boy libtard..
-
Fart SavorerShow is hit or miss - but I suppose that’s the point? You (the show’s producers/etc.) should get Yuval Noah Harari on the program - not sure if I could be stoned enough to listen to that guy stoned, haha
-
Jbowl1Good and … BadI’ve been a Maher fan for decades. I’ve seen him live. I like Real Time’s format. I like hearing celebrities/personalities I find interesting or intriguing being interviewed in this “unfiltered” format. But Bill has become more arrogant and rude as the years have rolled on. He interrupts guests or answers his questions to them before giving the guest an opportunity to answer … and he’s never wrong (not to mention the first to laugh at his jokes which are clearly not always funny). So though I listen when I’m interested in the guest, I have to sometimes struggle through because of these reasons.
-
SteveS150Guests Can’t SpeakOn Real Time, Maher is engaged in much more of a conversation with his guests. On Random it’s the Bill Maher show. Guests can’t get a word in edgewise, much less complete a nuanced thought or point. Jordan Peterson was never able to finish anything he started as Maher would interrupt and take the conversation on a tangent. It’s the polar opposite of a Sam Harris podcast. This show has the potential to be great, but with the incessant interruptions, it’s mediocre.
