  • Maher for President.
    Trump dinner-show critique
I totally get your take on having an “adult-meeting of the minds” approach when it comes to maga and non-maga differences. Compromise. Amicable. United. Today, it might payoff or……it’ll bomb (to the likes that nobody’s ever seen before) That said, I vehemently disagree with your accepting to have dinner with Trump however. Do you still claim Trump to be “clinically” sick/ill now? I bet not. Maga didnt vote for the “nice guy behind the scenes” as you describe but a loose cannon, unpredictable, lousy commedian, shoot from the hip racist for President. Because most if not all maga will never have the opportunity to “break bread” with a dictator wannabe, I guess that makes you the middle guy bringing “Real Trump” news to the forefront. You either saw an act or a split-personality In action. Regardless, Congratulations Bill, you are now part of Trump’s Inner-circle. Signed, Disappointed.

    Real honesty
I’ve watched Bill since his beginning. Bill you always keep it real and honest, don’t ever change! Thank you for being a beacon of truth!

    Past Relevance
Bill Maher was once a sharp voice in discourse who has begun his slow descent into Trump fanboydom. It makes sense since I always detected an insecurity and admiration of the “alpha” in him. Puts him with the Joe Rogans of the world, “might makes right” and “real” men abuse their power and pick on the weak which is a shame since we could have used him in the fight to push back but oh well, he’s old and has his 20 year old girlfriends so he’ll be fine. He gets an extra star for the great variety of guests he gets, some of those guest interviews are fascinating if you ignore the drunk/high comedian who keeps interrupting their stories.

Good to see the left embracing this type of dialogue.

    How do I reach Bill?
I’ve been with you on & off since politically incorrect. As a new Grateful Deadhead, I wonder how you concluded everyone in Kennedy center was progressive, as you say “woke” lefty?

Bill and Kid Rock are a joke
Two old, unattractive guys rating the beauty of women is quite amusing. Take a good look in the mirror gentlemen and be honest. If not for your fame & money, beautiful women would not give you a second look. Kid Rock - stop repeating, “this, that, and the other.”

    Common sense
Smart, intelligent, and just making sense common again it’s amazing how uncommon it has become. Thank God for people like Bill Maher and others who are trying to bring sanity back.

oh Bill you used to be good
Bill used to be the voice of the Democrats. Then Covid hit and little Bill got upset over a vaccine. So Bill went over to the dark side. Don’t know if he needs more ratings/attention, dementia is kicking in (Bill is approaching the seventies) or he just wants more $$$. He going to Mar-a-Largo next month which frankly ends it for me. Bill I loved Realtime and went to your shows but alias you lost me.

    Needs to let go
Bill needs to move on from pandemic. Every episode he goes on and one about how the wuhan lab leak theory and how it was censored. Ok we get it. Same about Israel. We aren’t all as obsessed about that one war. We have moved on from pandemic but he doesn’t seems able. Ok, your show was badly and wrongly affected. I agree with you but that was 5 years ago. On overtime he then went on about the magic bullet theory and grassy knoll with JFK as if it was fact. I do think he makes some very good points and is often very funny. But he is often wrong or guesses. He needs to chill. It’s ok not to know all the answers.

    American poor girl
Your not always right but you are listening. Bill Ive been a fan from the beginning and they are things I don’t agree with but I know you are real that is what is missing from the politicians and half the people who voice their opinions. I am over 60 years old and I am still a poor person its no big deal to me it just doesn’t make any difference on those who are rich or poor if they have love and respect and care about others. I would talk to anyone about anything and I do mean anything because talking is my joy i was born with mouth wide open as my preacher brother would say theres room enough in that mouth to make a caveman homesick haha. Seriously though I am just happy in my life not being in any country but the United States of America. I do love this land. Thanks for your podcast n show both are amazing. Bravo!!!!

    Thank you for Modeling civility
I've often listened to his shows over the years and like so many of us humans that take time for reflection, we evolve, Bill has, he invites random people to his space, that differ from himself , I especially enjoy his willingness to invite discord and debate while remaining authentic , civil and respectful...thank you !

I just finished episode with Kidd Rock, initially I told myself I would not last 15 mins yet I finished it. I remember Kidd Rock as a rapper so he filled in the gap for me as to what happened. Kidd & “Billy” was a good listen like a good buddy cop feel. Thank you Kidd& thank you Billy

As always, fascinating perspective on today’s political climate. Never thought I would live to see the day that Kid Rock would be considered a one per-center .

    Listening pleasure!
The podcast is great!! Great guests!! I also watch Real Time and watched Politically Incorrect. I love how you speak your mind no matter how the guest takes what you say. Sometimes you really have a hard time speaking your truth especially on the episode with Oliver Stone. It was so painful to listen to that episode. I’ve listened to mostly all the episodes and always look forward to Sundays when another episode drops! Keep up entertaining us!

    Sales pitch
I like hearing from the various guests he has on, it’s an eclectic bunch that beats most other podcasts. BUT, Bill really takes away from it by repeating all of his on views. The guests and the listeners already know Bill so let them speak. The point isnt to always find a middle ground. It’s your show I guess but would be nice to not hear about hating LA but it’s home, pot and you’ve been saying legalize it for 30 years, I smoke and drink in moderation and that’s ok (we don’t care), you pay a ton of taxes and you’re rich (duh), you hate kids and you’re an old liberal vs a new one. Got it!!!!!you’ve ruined a good thing if you keep it up
  • Digeryfoo
    I love Bill… But…
I’m a little stunned he’s giving the time of day to guys like Kid Rock. The heavy lifting Bill did to keep the podcast moving is stuff of legend. Kid Rock said absolutely nothing the entire time of worth. I get what Bill is attempting to try and do with guys like this on the pod, but maybe dig a little deeper than Kid frigging Rock. I actually loved the Gaetz episode despite the guy being a complete clown because he actually has a brain in his head. Kid Rock is just a rich Jan sixer.

You have too many bad guests on who are terrible human beings. Can’t you ever get someone normal on like Ted Danson?

    If arrogance was a podcast…

    Thank you
I truly appreciate your show and podcast. Your perspective helps keep me grounded. I tend to naturally lean right (retired navy), but also do not want to be trapped in a self imposed prison / sounding tube, as so many on either side do. We may not agree on some points, but that’s the true point of any true conversation!otherwise, you might as well be talking into a mirror. Keep it up!

    Pass
I gave it a few episodes a listen. Maher won’t shut up and often doesn’t know what he’s talking about (I cringed during the Tarantino interview) the smoking weed thing is lame, the topics veer off toward nowhere. If the guest is interesting it’s fine but that’s basically every podcast.
  • P. Utz
    Fun and Informative
Bill does a great job in a long interview format. Bill uses his vast knowledge of history and world events, along with his insightful personal views on life to get the most interesting responses from his guests. The interview is conducted in an intimate one on one setting creating a voyeuristic listening experience. As if you were sitting at the table next to the two in 'My Dinner with Andre'

    Who are you?
First off, I think Bill Maher’s show and podcast are great. However, being a baby boomer I find I don’t know a lot of his guests. Also, the podcasts are usually too long. When I know the guest the show is great, but please shorten it a tad Bill. Keep up the great work.

Annoying drunk girl at the bar
There’s a reason why people are sober when recording. So the audience doesn’t have to feel like they’re at the bar two hours after their friends already did. Some episodes are not bad but some are hard to listen to. Tell me more drunk uncle of the thing you think is so funny that has already been said throughout time…oh and take 5 minutes to get to the end of your sentence so I can fake laugh so we can move on.

Cringe - Bill is a boomer beta hack - pick me ! Pick me !
Trash - don’t waste your time! Bill , go watch some Carlin YouTube videos and get a clue ! Good comedy speaks truth to power and doesn’t punch down on easy targets like Facebook bots that comment on the LA fires ! Oooh, what courage! Bills interview with Matt Gates literally made me throw up in my mouth . Why would you have him on talking about the virtues of being a sugar, daddy? Cringe . You’re so edgy well it was so nice to hear you on pod save talking about your personal chef and all your assistants.

Love Bill’s podcast and I listen so often I already know what Bill thinks. Please let Bryan complete a sentence!

    True colors
Well, Bill’s smart enough to come back from his left extremist views for fear of losing half his audience members. So every now and then he throws in a “the left are this that n the other” in a negative view just to keep the right somewhat entertained, but in this podcast, he could not help himself but show how much of a radical he really is! He’s a fraud! Great job Michael keep that loon in check!!

I have no problem with bill interviewing people with opposing opinions. But this guy is a “ Christian “ who has given up his past life. But all he does is talk about it to make money. A complete phony

Wow was that interview annoying. Bill, you said when you started this podcast it wasn’t going to be political, u have a mob guy on… and you talk politics! I turned it off listening to that moron talk about how he hates liars…. yet fully supports the greatest liar in our history, DT. That was all so painful. If you want to talk politics, do so with smart people. Talk mob stuff with mob people. Perhaps you did later in the show, but I couldn’t get past his Jan 6th nonsense.

    You are great Bill but…
Big fan of Bill’s HBO/max show. But the podcast reveals another side to Bill which is not always flattering. Too repetitive on political and cultural stances that all fans, even casual observers, know. It would likely be a more compelling listen if you allowed guests to string 2-3 sentences together without interrupting. Why bring guests on if they don’t have a fair chance to express themselves? Wouldn’t it be more of a dialogue if guests stated their opinions fully and you countered when in disagreement or support when in agreement?
  • The coolkid 2
    Too repetitive
I have listened to many club random episodes. I find many of the guests interesting but have a couple of complaints. The first is that Bill Maher is way too repetitive. He tells many of his guests his story about the idea for this podcast or about his thinking about marriage, etc. What he seems to fail to remember is that the audience has heard it many, many times before. He even uses the exact same words and inflections. No new insight or anything. That is super boring. Also, Bill thinks he’s better informed than he really is about many topics. He has a superficial patina of knowledge about a topic and then it’s a lot of generalities and vague references. One notable exception is history. You don’t know what you don’t know. I do appreciate that he isn’t afraid to go against his own side (which is my side) and speak heretical truths. It is nice to hear from people with a diverse range of perspectives. I hope, if Bill reads this, it will be taken as constructive criticism and not blown off. Even with my frustrations I listen fairly regularly and just fast forward through the repetitive parts.

    Matt Gaetz
My definition of “Horseshoe Theory” is both Bill Maher & Matt Graetz agreeing that drinking, drugs and illicit sex are cool, normal and representative of American freedom.

    Matt Gaetz interview
This is what I respect most about Bill’s work. My mind was completely blown by the Matt Gaetz interview. Because of media coverage I always assumed he was a moronic hack. And without Bill’s interview I would have never had this experience with a side that I have rarely agreed with. I’m not saying I agree with Matt’s policies but I may agree with more than I think. Thanks for getting me out of the bubble.

    Entertainment at Its Best
I'm a huge fan of Bill Maher. Real Time is my favorite show and I’ve been watching for about 11 years when I really got into politics. Bill’s podcast is great and it shows a different side of him. It's him in his own element and the discussions are raw and compelling. Although I honestly wish that every episode of his podcast focused on politics because I can never get enough, he shows that he is multifaceted and can talk about many different subjects. For example, I knew that Bill was a history major in college, but I never realized how well-versed he is on history, culture, people, religion, and the world in general. He's an extremely smart man and I thoroughly enjoy hearing his thoughts on life. He also chooses great guests. My favorite so far have been Seth Macfarlane (huge Family Guy & American Dad fan here), Jerry Seinfeld, and Sam Harris. If you are looking for deep dives into a interesting topics, you will love this podcast. If you are already a fan of Bill Maher, you will love this podcast. If you lean to the right, I think you will love this podcast because Bill is a straight shooter and is a man who values common sense.

Smart comedy, occasionally funny when in center
Bill is smart and funny. This setup works, guests feel relaxed and intimate. Love the episodes when the guest has an opposing point of view. The worst episodes are when another lefty lib rolls in and there is no disagreement on anything. For example Sam Harris interview was impossible to get through. Stay in the middle Bill.
  • Izzybowles
    On and on
For the love of Christ Bill- LET YOUR GUESTS TALK!!! I really wanted to hear what the healthiest man in the world had to say. Instead it was Bill once again justifying his own lifestyle. How many times have we heard it? He’s like an old man who repeats the same stories and ideas again and again. Bill listen back at the episode and see how little your guest was allowed to speak. Embarrassing.
  • saperlo
Sorry you lost the election Bill
You have to listen to the Dr Phil episode where he predicts the election results in detail for some actual comedy. He sits there, high handedly criticizing Trump all the time but man does that look lame now
  • JDHappy
Not as relevant as he believes he is
Have been a long time Bill Maher fan. Not so much anymore. This podcast is a waste of time for everyone but Bill. Who cares if he drinks and smokes with celebs? We know Bill, you’re cool. If you happen to catch Bill’s newest Chicago special you will learn that Bill is right about everything and was first to be right! He says so 50x, at least. Bill has officially jumped the shark!

    Let’s vilify minorities smh 🤦🏽‍♂️
Really Bill, 15 % transgender ? Let’s do some research instead of hating on ppl! Even in the gay community transgender is minority times 100! This has no impact on anyone but their own families but sure let’s make them the bogeyman ! How boomer thinking masked as open minded 🙄 And calling ppl who sympathize with those families struggles as “woke”?! You grow up and do some research instead of playing and blaming democrats for why Trump won!

    Who’s the guest?
There’s no doubt that Bill is a bright, insightful, hilarious individual . So are many of his guests I assume, though sometimes it’s hard to tell because Bill talks over guests and often times answers his own questions. Those of us who are Bill Maher fans and listen (and watch) regularly know plenty about Bill, I want to know about his guests.

    Not for tribal idiots.
Love the show. Great guests with a variety of backgrounds and opinions. Definitely not an echo chamber which is refreshing. Thanks Bill for having a voice that is your own and that has not been captured by the prevailing winds of group think. I don’t always agree with you, but I believe that you believe in what you are saying which makes you authentic.
  • Hdgggggggg
    Club random drinking game:
Take a shot every time Bill says “that’s what I hate about the democrats!” Take a sip of beer/cocktail whenever he complains about the work. You’ll be buzzed within 10 minutes and wasted after an hour. I’ve actually been announcing the time stamp out loud to my spouse every week for months now when he starts to complain. I actually like Bill Maher and have listened for 30+ years since PI, but frankly I need to take the edge off of these days because he seems to have developed a form of Tourette’s where he can’t stop complaining about his fan base. I hoped he’d age into the type of old man who isn’t negative and complaining all the time, and would stick to comedy, but here we are… still a show worth listening to, but sometimes I skip the episode if I don’t feel like going through the emotional equivalent of listening to my mother complain about the fact that I haven’t had kids yet and dare to wear my hair or makeup in a way she doesn’t agree with for 2 hours. Yeah.
