This is a fantastic podcast. Listened to in order it is a linear history of organized crime in America. It could be a college course. It is entertaining & funny also. Robert Mazur is really interesting, great interview, I look forward to the 2nd part and I will check out that show, The Infiltrator. Esteban is not as good though, this crap that more guns does not lead to more violence is illogical, irrational and dangerous. It is a cult mentality unsupported by any evidence. Take a look at the history of guns in Australia for all the clear evidence you need to see this issue clearly. Anyways the number of fascinating podcasts that Gary has done is amazing, and good new ones are still coming with frequency…. Thanks!

Gangland Wire provides consistent content for not only those fascinated by Cosa Nostra, but for anyone interested in true crime. Gary has first hand knowledge, credibility and a great sense of humor which makes listening infectious. Support this podcast!

I’ve listened to Gary’s show for a handful of years and always enjoyed it. He has just gotten better and better over the time with more interesting stories and guests. Very informative! The host knows his stuff and I appreciate that he is just himself and isn’t a phony. The interviews are good as well. Highly recommended.

One of the best.

It’s so rare to get an honest look into crime and prison but this is it. The host is an ex- police officer who is bit a bleeding heart by any means, but he recognizes the problems in the justice system. And he’s a decent man who the guests feel comfortable talking to.

I’ve been listening to Gangland Wire for several years, and have read Gary’s book and watched his documentaries. In addition to some of the best true crime story-telling, Gary has a homespun way of communicating information that feels like your sitting across a table with him in a one-on-one conversation. His history of undercover LEO ops brings a certain stamp of credibility to everything he says. His guests are great, the topics are well-researched, and the content delivery is easy to absorb. Great job, Detective Jenkins!

Gary Jenkins is the best! I especially like how he mixes in stories from other cities in addition to KC. Jenkins gives a rare look into the back-end operations of the mob, and his personal stories of dealing with mobsters are fascinating.

I think I came to Gary's podcast by way of the Mobbed Up podcast. It is definitely worth listening to. I am not that into mob podcasts but I look forward to hearing Gary. I haven't given him a beer or a cup of coffee but I thought I could at least (and it is litterally the very least I can do) go to the trouble of updating this silly iTunes software and signing into this app I do not use just to leave a five star review and to thank Gary for making his show. I wouldn't mind if he started including real ad reads if it would help him keep doing it.

Informed sources. A behind the scenes look at Mafia characters and their stories. NO COMMERCIAL interruptions. The narrative flows. Enjoy the interviews with original members as well as the knowledgable authors who have researched their subjects.

I listen to organized crime podcasts and audiobooks every day. Gangland Wire is the most unique and detail oriented account out there. The avalanche of information about the grunts that 90% haven’t heard of and the MobStars alike should be the standard for True Crime podcasting.

I heard Gary on another podcast and decided to check out Gangland Wire. I ended up listening to every single episode from the beginning! It’s fun to have heard the podcast change, grow, and improve. Highly recommend!

One star because of the interesting content. As a Missouri resident I wanted to like this podcast. Listened to the first two episodes, then listened to an episode a year later, then the most recent episode in July 2021. Host, Gary Jenkins, has tried to tighten up his delivery but honestly it’s not working for me. I can’t imagine that it hasn’t been suggested he find a true storyteller. Perhaps ego? The podcast also suffers from a lack of production value. 266 episodes later and little progress has been made to make it more of an enjoyable listening experience. Give it over to the professionals and I’ll be back. Until then unfortunately I’m unfollowing.

Gary covers so many states and even countries mafioso. He will cover a lot of lesser known mob guys, but will also hit on the Gotti’s of the mob world too. He speaks from experience because he was cop in Kansas City helping to fight the mob as a surveillance cop. Give it a listen you won’t be disappointed- Wes from Indiana

This as to be one of the best podcasts on organized crime. Great interviews and being a former intelligence unit member in the Kansas City Police Department, he has great insights.

Great stuff guys. I don’t know if u still do this podcast but Rick Porello is an expert on the mob here. Went to school with his cousin also named Richard Porello, who’s grandfather gunned down the boss in the 1930s. It appears this episode is from 2016 but I would love to hear what the former policeman Rick Porello has to say.

I just started listening to this podcast after reading a book about the Mob staring Las Vegas which led me to Gangland Wire on Amazon. Great story telling and great inside information from someone who worked cases. I grew up in Cleveland and lived through the Jackie Presser era and had stories from my dad about Danny Green so I enjoy hearing the stories about these guys. I recommend this podcast for sure!

Enjoyed the facts after seeing the Hollywood movie. The spoof of surveillance footage was hilarious. I from Chicago and have intrigued by mob. A great aunts in-laws told about Phyllis McGuire and Sam giacona show bowing the entire neighbor.

Coming from Atlantic City from 1974-2004, working in the casino industry, and once living right in the middle of Nicky Scarfo’s Ducktown neighborhood, I am a true Mafia-phile. Gary is the real deal and I am so grateful that he is sharing all his wonderful knowledge and stories. After decades of hearing these stories through East Ciast accents, I get a huge kick out of this guy with the Midwestern twang.

I am a podcast- true crime addict and LOVED listening. Great host. Interesting guests and wonderful stories. I did feel like I was sitting in a coffee shop listening to interesting tales from a group of good friends. All are so knowledgeable about the history woven with rich detail and insight. I enjoyed learning. Thank you for sharing this so others might enjoy!

I’ve heard some of these stories in podcasts that came along after Gary covered them and I prefer Gary’s podcast over them all. I’ve been on the job 23 years but when he tells his stories about copping I feel like a rookie cop hearing the legends of the squad room all over again.

This could be a very good podcast. The guy has a lot of stories but the lack of direction and the”banter” is excruciatingly painful to listen to.

Good stories definitely helps my day go by. One day I’ll watch the documentary.

Love this podcast. I have been interested in Mafia history for many years and I have learned so much from this. I recently watched the movie on Amazon. It’s a good watch too.

I absolutely am addicted to this podcast. I listen to it every night as I wind down for bed. Love hearing the stories and Gary tells them so well. Maybe he will one day venture into current day Mexican mafia. You hear a lot when you live in south San Diego.

Yes. We know you were an intelligence officer in Kansas City. You don’t need to bring it up all the time. Especially with guests such as the FBI who did a lot more. You talk too much. I mean too much about meaningless crap. Tone it down. Your research is sooooo cookie cutter. Try reading books such as “the money and the power” by roger Morris. Get some better insight rather than the crap you find on YouTube. Also, you tend to not give out any opinions or educated thoughts on matters. You just kind of read off a wiki page. I have two only because you have SOME decent pod casts.

Gary is a very nice person who seems to enjoy his hobby and wants to ensure the listeners are pleased. Thank you for your hard work. Frank

I’m from Chicago and have some knowledge about Doves etc. look at what happened to Ginancana because he was public, do you think Accardo would have been happy with Doves all over sporting & Fishing mags about catching the largest Muskie????
