M coffmanSlavery and racismLove how everybody talks about the evil white Americans and slavery and racism of the “African” Americans and never mention how those same folks where enslaved and sold by other black Africans in Africa and that slavery was a global problem and still in some places but all we hear is about American slavery, great job people. So is the st Clair podcast about her or just about racism and police brutality lol get a new dead horse to beat to death.

BbbbbbbbssssdsdfDo REAL research!!!I think you guys should work a little harder on your research or hire real experts. I listened to the Giancana episode and I came away frustrated because it seems no matter how much a myth is debunked, these so-called "experts" keep rehashing bull****. JFK and his father DID NOT get help from Giancana to win the election. Had your "experts" did a little research and read The Patriarch and Fredrik Logevall's JFK biography, you'd find that out very quickly. Both of these books are based on the evidence from the archives at the JFK library and other locations not available to most researchers. After listening to this episode, I will not continue on.

FabulousBJPJesus Christ, the ads are WAY too loud! The content is great when it's not playing ads at twice the volume of the show.
-
Rooster IakoToo Many AdsThere are way too many ads is there a way to listen to this podcast without any ads
-
Wren1961Too many commercialsGreat show & very interesting but the constant ads interrupt the shows. Seems a two part show could be condensed into one w/o all the ads
-
David shunjiPlease fix your advertisementIt’s a good show but if I was one of the guests I’d be upset that I’m being cut off mid sentence by advertising.
-
X0xoXOxoXOAdds are way to loudGreat pod, awesome story telling absolutely perfect mix of narration, story telling and witness accounts. One of the greatest subject matters NYC has to offer. So much fun to listen to. Please set the Add volume to a lower level. I listen to most of my Pods with headphones while I’m commuting. The adds are painfully loud. Thank you, keep up the great job.
-
IsaacLaughterCommercialsGood content, um way too many commercials.
-
Shannon McCartyStephanie St. ClaireSt. Claire's story is wrapped in modern day social justice jargon. This makes these episodes highly questionable.
-
PostmatesistrashhhhhLove the show BUTThe ads are SO bad. The show is fantastically made but the ads are very intrusive. Sometimes cutting in mid sentence at a HIGHER volume than the show. Not cool. Keep doing what you’re doing but think about structuring and presenting the ads better. I know they are necessary for a free show but can be done better for the listener. Thank you.

endu638299hnSponsorshipThe commercials are way too long. I understand sponsorships, but when the commercials take up most of the podcast one seems to lose interest. Therefore the sponsorship does no good.

Bwicker1234Different InfoDuring your Albert Anastasia part one you stated that Albert started to stake out the prosecutor Dewey in hopes of killing him and that story matched up with the previous one you told. except in this version you said that Albert Anastasia did so without the commissions say so and that the commission had to tell him no you’re not gonna do this. but in the coverage previously on Dutch Schultz you stated that the commission, specifically lucky Luciano sent Albert Anastasia to stake out and see if killing Dewey was possible so you have different information in one you’re saying the commission Sent Albert Anastasia on behalf of luck to appease Dutch and then in a second you’re saying that they did not send him.

carlgood1May as well have the cryptkeeper read your adsMafia stands out in a genre known for low quality podcasts for its consistently strong storytelling and narrative arcs. Having Fleet Cooper do the ad reads, is like having the Cryptkeeper tell you about his therapist or what phone games he likes to play. He’s a fine (if over the top) host, but the cartoonishness of his voice doesn’t lend itself to credible ads though it is kind of amusing.

Code-E H20sGood show/annoying adsMost the pods are 30 minutes ish with 5-6 ad breaks! C’mon!!

snose1870To many commercialsI love your shows but Jesus the show seems like half is commercials
-
holamyfriendsOverall ReviewI feel like the episodes have just become advertising and hardly any about the person or event.
-
ZombiekateGreat Show!So happy to get the new season! However, man 1/4 of the show has become commercials.
-
UrbanBookLoverMy favoriteI love this podcast so much! Glad your back!!
-
Uncle Frank's PlaceWell Done!Enjoyed the Silver Dollar Sam and Vito/Prime Minister episodes. The Prime Minister deserves his own episode.
-
Mediocre MikeShortShort episodes, with too many ads.
-
BridgetMVPThese are experts?Bring back Selwyn Raab
-
ANomNomNomousToo many ads.The episodes are fairly short to begin with and the ad to content ratio is quite askew. Good stories and content but not worth the amount of commercials/ads thrown in. If you enjoy pressing on FF repeatedly throughout a podcast, have fun. If not, then pass.

ALK444Interesting but victim to woke revisionismI really enjoy Mafia. While it has tended to make being a gangster glamorous, they also do highlight the violence and corruption. Not so with the most recent episodes on Stephanie St. Clair. They recruited several gender and racial studies professors to portray St. Clair as a champion of civil and gender rights, despite her actual role as a gangster running an illegal gambling operation. While they claim it is a victimless crime they minimize St. Clair’s efforts to corrupt authorities and her use of violence to defend her territory. The experts claim the violence she employed was to protect her community from white gangsters, and try to claim she was some kind of civil rights leader as a result. They do this while even portraying her as comparable to real leaders like Thurgood Marshall and W.E.B. Dubois who lived in the same building. Come on Mafia, do the right thing. Don’t promote the propaganda. Just because Italian Mafia leaders try to clad their activities as defending Italians from racism doesn’t mean they actually are. You’ve recognized this in past episodes. Stephanie St. Clair is no different. She was a violent criminal, not a civil rights hero. Find some real experts who understand that, not a bunch of critical studies pseudo experts.

The_Wolf_WatchingGreat potential but too repetitiveI have listend to the first two seasons this far and enjoy the content and its overall presentation. The more off putting things are, abrupt and extremely repetitive commercials (often times twice in a row!) and constant “recycling” of already covered content. The producers seem to try and fill the time slot with constant repeats. Depreciates an otherwise intriguing and informative show.

schudijudyDisappointed in Season 4This is one of my favorite podcasts but I’m very disappointed in season 4 and after halfway through episode 2 I will not be listening to the rest of the season. They have gone PC route and are celebrating a criminal solely because of the color of her skin and because she’s a woman. Plus the people who are being interviewed are making ambiguous racist statements. Just tell history how it was and stop making everything political.
-
Nurdee1Hope Season Four ImprovesLove the shows first three seasons. Hoping rest of season four is better than the first two episodes. Yous are trying way to hard to find some kind of minority gangsters even when historically some minority’s (in this case women) simply did not participate in those activities, especially in the mafia. Basically nothing is known about this Stephanie and it’s really obvious you just wanted to make an episode about a woman gangster. Really hope the rest the season is better!
-
justin asq🤔99% of the time I’m a huge fan of each of these podcasts but-The Stephanie St Claire episode was AWFUL. woke politics of the present day should have nothing to do with this podcast or it’s subject matter. The experts brought in to comment were “cultural experts” rather than actual historians. And Stephanie St Clair wasn’t even a true mafia figure that this podcast would normally cover; making it a big reach to even feature her. Do better!
-
Alvis blackEnjoy, but too many ads, and too repetitive.I’ve always liked this show, but there’s far too many ads. It seems like I’m not the only one who feels this way, based off other reviews. Also they just kind of say the same things over and over again. It’s disappointing.
-
YotaminiGeezSounds like this show has gone down the pc alley, celebrating a criminal just because of race smh 🙄, what’s wrong with just telling the truth in history lots of maybe and assumptions in this season
-
Fino DinoGreat PodcastI love this podcast. I’m super excited for Season 4!
-
Todd HedgesLove this podcast!!I am a huge mafia/mob fan and this podcast is so informative and great to listen to. All the people that contribute do a great job telling the stories. Keep it up!!
-
NatashaCMUMy favorite podcast! So excited for season 4!!
-
WolfRidaSeason 4Season 4! Let’s gooo
-
Spensire18Great if you love advertisementsThis would be a truly entertaining podcast about the Mafia if there wasn’t an annoying ad every 30 seconds. I’m pretty sure there is more ad time than podcast time
-
AnnaPrekegesMisleading titleThis show should be called “cops” or “agents” or something because it’s mostly focused on praising law enforcement for how magical they are because they arrested people for mafia crimes. They speak of the cops involved as if they are some underdogs who aren’t just literally doing the job they are paid and trained to do.. idk just not really a boot licker so this got really unbearable
-
yoga.ahaA very good show with long crappy commercialsThe arrogant narcissistic commercials sort of wreck a good show. The show is very well produced, and edifying. Can you make commercials a bit shorter? (Especially the Hims one, it’s ridiculous and insulting.) Beyond that, this is an excellent even iconic podcast. All the voices are excellent and really great at adding to the feeling of the stories.
-
DIABLO 696QuestionIs this show Completely over with?
-
Lh04177Good if you like MobstersWould give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the horrendous Ad breaks. Completely takes you out of the immersion of the podcast
-
1News JunkieHigh quality...Excellent quality production! Enough detail to entertain and interest. The hard work of the production pays off. Nice job!
-
beusisbehsuajsbhsujeGreat if you like a little story between 45 minutes of ads.Interesting stories, and well put together but FAR too many ads. It’s worse than watching television. I don’t mind a few here and there, but this is ridiculous!
-
it rocksA History Lesson on the MobThis podcast is very solid. I love how they go in depth on a single mobster, and each monster gets 2 episodes. They have comments and interjection by the the some of the most knowledgeable authors, mafia experts, and former law enforcement in the game. You can tell the researchers did their homework on this one. The host is great as well. His voice doesn’t get annoying the more you listen, which can certainly happen with other shows I listen to. Total A+ all the way around.
-
Consumer19Amateur hourInteresting subject matter but speakers constantly interrupted mid sentence for ads and many gaps in content. Get your act together.
-
hainesfireLove it!I love the information with the entertainment mixed in. So classy!
-
