This is by far one of the best tattoo podcasts out there, if not the very best one. Excellent, thoughtful discussion and deep dives into topics not covered elsewhere. Great guest interviews. I’ve listened to every episode more than once and I can’t say that for any other podcast, but I am a tattooer! I do think this podcast is great for anyone interested in history and tattooing, not just tattooists. Keep up the good work!

Been working on a leg sleeve and this is a great way to take my mind off the pain and focus on the art as well as the process!

Learning about history is one of my favorite ways to pass the time and getting tattooed is one of my favorite ways to get rid of money. This podcast was a joy to find, through the most circuitous route I could imagine that began with sneakily reading cracked.com in the back of class in high school, really liking the work of this Robert Evans guy, then some things happened, he introduces me to Lions Led By Donkeys and then I find out about this podcast. Finally, a history podcast that barely ever leaves me depressed about war crimes or genocide. In fact, this podcast is doing the opposite! Exploring and teaching about the cultures of the world that countries and religions have tried to stamp out. The banter between Thomas and Matt feels genuine and hearing their excitement and how earnestly they discuss the topics or interview guest is a pick me up I didn’t quite expect. They seem like good dudes, especially after their recent donation to support trans youths and families. These men, and their guests, have given me a renewed appreciation for my own tattoo collection and I sincerely look forward to learning more from them and their guests.
