JakeybeanA Fave! This is one of the best true crime podcasts out there. Ashley’s presentation of the material is steady & calm. Ricky adds such charm & comments that make sense. I love that they are always respectful, & love that they sound authentic - they don’t feel the need to act “excited” to present the info, like a hype-up so they’ll get bought. They are just steadily & consistently good. Excellent work, guys! Thank you.

Sacha NikkaylaCrime salad - I can’t wait for the next episode.3/1/2025 I am surprised that you’re surprised that you guys are next to shows that you idolize on the rating that you’re at you said like 65 you guys are when I totally favorite shows and I just love crime podcasts. I really really look forward to Crime Salad every single week and you guys do not disappoint. Keep up the good work. Sincerely , Sacha Sullivan Unknown date: I can’t believe I hadn’t left a review until now. Forgive me definitely five stars on my list of weekly podcasts and I always can’t wait for the next episode. Love crime salad, n what a cute name. Wishing y’all the very best and hopefully you can make some good $$ on this along with , helping people, meeting people and just doing something awesome together. So great y’all can work together like this. I love it.

KayCal88Not terribleThese two aren’t terrible but you can feel that they don’t often have much to add with their own thoughts and because there are SO MANY awkward pauses lasting so long that I check my phone to see if I paused the episode. However the worst part is the amount of ads. I’m well aware that ads are a necessary evil for podcasts, but the number of ads feels like it takes up 25% of the episodes, I wish I were lying or exaggerating but I’m not. I recently started an episode in which they talked about crime-con then an ad. By this point we were 10+ minutes into the episode. After 2 minutes into the actual content another add. After a minute of content, literally another add. It’s absolutely insane. I listen to others that start and end with ads, may even have one in the middle, but this one over does it. It makes the whole situation unbearable. I can’t listen to this anymore.

LALChitownFitGirlGreat listen! So glad I found your podcast! Love your dynamic and layout - you do a great balance of banter and story telling and I’ve been enjoying binging all your episodes over the last few weeks!
-
Hquin39The best true crime podcastYou guys rock! The best part is THE BOND between Ashley and Ricky( who is hilarious btw) I recommend this podcast to all my true crime junkies!!
-
Hilda AvocadoRicky is awesome!!!My first ever review! I started listening to true crime during covid and you guys were one the first ones I listened to and now one of the few that I still listen to. I love that your primary focus is about the victims story and you have very little banter. I don’t care what people say, Ricky you’re awesome don’t let the haters get you down!!!Ashley your voice is so soothing, love you guys!!!!
-
LisaDeeCUse to Love LovePlease Please Ricky go back to only giving your opinion a handful of times. All your long interruptions are making me not want to listen. I have been skipping ahead when I hear your voice now.
-
dayziegarciaWowLoved this podcast, 12 minutes in and already 5 minutes of ads. I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. Unsubbing. Also the Lita case is atrocious.
-
Donna ColbertMaking an effortThis husband and wife team is a force for good. When you have swum through these true stories, you will have become more aware of how to prevent crimes. Criminals who had run, thinking they were free, will have to think twice when great crimesters like this get on their trail.
-
12megs12weird long pausesthe only negative I would say about this podcast is there’s these long pauses, sometimes up to 10 seconds where the hosts just aren’t talking, and then they just randomly resume. one more thing is the random tunes that start playing in the middle of their sentences. just kind of odd
-
TedsMom84Love this onePretty picky with my podcasts but I’ve been a Patreon listener for quite a while now. Always enjoy the topics and sometimes it’s refreshing to listen to a shorter version of a case, I’m not always looking for a 3 hr deep dive. I like Ricky, I wish he’d go back to reading the cases because I enjoy both voices.
-
MenifeeHandmadeFavorite PodcastThis is definitely my go to podcast! I love the banter between Ricky and Ashley. The episodes are always informative and well researched.
-
Scooching in HereRicky Needs to GoRicky contributes nothing. His comments interrupt a great diction from Ashley, and several comments seem snarky and irreverent towards the victims. Hope to see some change here. Ashley is great though!

Say No To CoinAddictive, But I Want More! The hosts are great—engaging and easy to listen to. They do a fantastic job telling the stories, but I do wish the episodes were a bit longer and included more detail. Overall, it’s a solid true crime podcast that keeps me coming back for more
-
gdghgyw*DO NOT SWERThis show is raited clean but you literally said the b word and the f word. Like you could of said “it said the f word” or “it said the b word”
-
Tallard1996Loved it…at firstI was a huge fan of this podcast. I loved both hosts and their take on each case but then somewhere along the way the quality dropped majorly and then the hosts seemed to lose interest in the podcast them selves. It hasn’t been good in a while and I keep checking back because it could always become better again. Fingers crossed
-
CinhowError filled podcast -Leticia Stauch episode. There are many case errors in this episode that I gave up listening. The main one being Leticia was arrested Before Gannon was found, not after as the episode states. There was obvious other errors that show research in this case was poor. I’ll pass on future episodes.
-
Jess co gurlGreat podcast!I enjoy listening to Ashley and Ricky weekly and catching up with their life and hearing the new episodes. I love that there is minimal banter but just enough!!
-
foxiesmommaMadeleine SotoThank you guys for doing something on this poor child but SALAD is appropriate here. Sorry but your podcast was very superficial. Go a little deeper with it next time.
-
Slicknik93No more RickyI love this show but in the most respectful way— please keep Ricky off podcast and have him do the editing. His comments are redundant, state the obvious and I find myself often skipping through his portion
-
JazmineMMAwkward dialogue/commentaryWhile I know podcast episodes like this are “scripted”, and they write what they are going to say as far as the story, this couple’s dialogue sounds soooo sterile, and read directly from a paper, no emotion, and awkward, unnatural pauses after each person speaks. It’s almost uncomfortable to listen to.
-
cdawlBored husbandThe husband always sounds SO bored like he’s being held hostage and forced to participate
-
JordynC23THE BESTI’ve been binge listening to your podcast for a whole month now and I can’t get enough. I love everything about it.
-
ardent-armadillaJust found crime saladI love this podcast so much, great research and storytelling. Love the hosts. I think the episodes on bullying and sex trafficking are informative and useful.
-
HollliejjLove it!Just found your podcast, always on the hunt for a good crime cast. You both do a great job hosting! Quality is great, Ashley has a great narrating voice. Your research is thorough! Thank you for sharing your content.
-
BethyvizIssue with silent house epThere’s something wrong with the most recent episode. It cuts off mid sentence and feels like there’s a bit more to be said.
-
Curlydee33Love love love you guysThis show is great and you guys are doing a great job. Thank you for getting these people and their stories out. Y’all keep the salad crispy and real.
-
BaipopI like it!new to this podcast. Enjoying it for the most part!
-
HappyHomeschoolingMamaPlease update your vocabulary. Please stop using the terminology “Real Parents” or “Real Children.” To imply that a child or parent isn’t “real” is kind of gross and condescending. The word biological is the most appropriate. Know better, do better.
-
TheDogMomI don’t even know.So the episodes say that they’re 45 minute episode with ads, I tried the free trial ad free and it cut down episode time to 20 minutes, some episodes are less than 20 minutes, the stories are done so slow I’m listening at 1.25x so that takes off a few more minutes, so really these episodes are 15-20 minutes. I listen to a lot of true crime, never had a podcasts with so many ads and true crime stories told in stories told in 15-20 minutes.
-
StettybarrSubscribe!!I am addicted to this podcast, I was trying to find new podcasters and found this one. I love it all and listen to it all the time. Took me only a day to subscribe. I see complaints about the ads…it’s $20 bucks for a year for no ads? Just subscribe it’s worth it.
-
It’s BeeeNewStarted listening due to recommendations from a cousin of Ricky. Obsessed is an understatement. Thanks for providing real audio. Makes the episodes so much more realistic. Can’t wait to listen to all the episodes.
-
Tbuck501Good ListenI absolutely love this podcast. But the poor grammar drives me nuts. Not a deal breaker. Would recommend. EDIT - commercial breaks have become way too frequent. These could easily be played as a group, maybe twice per episode. Instead, they are played a couple ads at a time very frequently.
-
Tatertot2954Enjoyable but the ads…I’m new to this podcast. I enjoy the podcast but I’m sure I can subscribe if the ads continue the way they do. On the latest episode an ad was played again after just a minute or two of the podcast. An ad every five minutes us making this unlistenable
-
hyg1boxGood podcast…You do a wonderful job with info. Your voice is very calm and soothing. My only question is… can you condense the sponsorship commercials? It is a bit intrusive to have a sponsor every 6 min or so. Do like 3 at once and give us a longer content time. Thank you Good work!!!
-
Ballzsack69Attention!This podcast will grasp your attention and keep you wanting more. I love how they get right into the story and provide all of the information. It keeps me entertained during work etc, and I really enjoy listening. Thank you for respecting the victims and their families. This podcast is the best!
-
Jaygirl269The amount of commercials are ridiculousCrime Salad use to be one of my most favorite podcasts, like in my top 5, go to podcast, can’t wait to listen to the newest one, podcast. However, the amount of commercials is bonkers. Not only the amount, it’s the way they go about it, it seems sneaky in my personal opinion. There’s no pause, there’s no break, it just goes into them advertising a product. So one sentence they’re talking about the victim, the next sentence is advertising cat litter. It just gets on my nerves so badly.
-
LlillfrogGreat pod!Her voice is really my favorite out of all of the podcasts I listen to. Great banter, not annoying like some other pods that do the same with husband wife pairs. Great choices in cases. All around a solid choice to subscribe to.
-
prexkcReally liking the new formatI appreciate the hosts sensitivity towards the victims as they tell the story. There has been some growing pains as they became more experienced podcasters, but I think some people are too harsh. Everyone starts as a beginner. Give them a break. I liked hearing their growth and how they have taken feedback and pushed themselves to improve our listening experience. I really like the format of the newer episodes. I’m happy that the banter is back between the hosts. Thank you for all your hard work, Ashley and Ricky!

CAW8ZAI Think I Have to Let Crime Salad GoIt’s gotten to the point where I find myself cringing at multiple points throughout the episodes. What I appreciate about true crime podcasts as a criminal defense investigator, is the presentation of cases from content creators who research their cases thoroughly, have a polished presentation style, and stay in their lane. Crime Salad has gone off the rails on those last two points. I appreciate true crime podcasts that center victim’s stories and advocate for better processes to support all the victims of crimes both after the crime has occurred and as “justice” (or some version of it) is pursued, which most true crime podcasts claim they are trying to do. However, I have grown tired of the constant psychoanalysis of behaviors and event analyses coming from our hosts of Crime Salad. I feel as if they speak with a sense of authority, as if they have specialized knowledge where I don’t believe they hold any. Our hosts have been slowly moving away from simply presenting facts for us to think about in the context of the human condition and how we treat one another and are now often speaking about cases through the lens of their own biases, beliefs, and judgments. For me, it is really dragging down the listening experience. In this latest episode, Ricky actually asked why we have yet to find a way to humanely kill someone. First, how is that germane to Jennifer’s story?! Second, if you wanted to alienate those followers who don’t believe in state-sponsored murder, well done, Ricky. After describing in detail how a man likely choked to death on his own vomit during a botched and untreated execution method, you decide to follow it up with that disgusting comment. Brilliant. I started listening to this podcast with the understanding that it wasn’t going to be used to push the creators’ personal politics in our faces. I think it’s jumped the shark.
-
CydieeeLove y’allThanks for putting in so much time into these and for always emphasizing awareness. Keep doing what y’all doing, Y’all great.
-
PlaytoomanygamesI tried…Ricky just says things for the sake of saying things. Nothing he adds to the story is useful.
-
GLHollywood19Too Much CommentaryI’ve been a long time listener but just can’t do it anymore. The stories used to be told very well and with thought. They typically left their opinions and comments towards the end of the episode but now they talk details to death or what they think about a situation or person. It’s almost like they don’t have enough material to make a decent length of an episode so they fill it with their ideas and opinions…typically going on a tangent or even off topic. The episode on the Keller Family was my breaking point. They were talking so much about what they thought of the case and psycho analyzing the husband that I actually thought my app glitched and skipped to the end but was surprised to find that it wasn’t even half way through. They jumped all over the place. They need to tell the story and get through it cohesively so it’s easier to follow. Like another commenter said, when Ashley says something about the story, Ricky repeats exactly what she just said. It adds nothing to the story. Just keep it simple.
-
Nurse NatashaPronunciation, Please!Nothing more annoying than hearing something pronounced over and over again during a podcast. It’s Kuh-sim-ee!!!!!!
-
Big And Black 888FalseA lot of their “facts” are proven false. Do better. Also the ads are so bad it is impossible to get into their stories
-
kanananansnnsnsnsndndnGood show but could improveI’m pretty picky when it comes to podcasts, as I don’t like a lot of banter, but Ashley and Ricky have a decent balance. I appreciate the clear respect that they have for the victims in these cases
-
AHersh17Too many ads and stupid musicWhat’s the point of the random music? Its more of a distraction. Just tell the case! An ad every 3-4 minutes is so off putting.
-
BacksasserMadeline SotoThat mother didn’t protect her daughter. She came off suspicious to me. She never seemed worried or show emotion about her daughter. That monster of a boyfriend deserves the worse!
-
TildaJeanLearn how to pronounce lasciviousIt’s not La vicious! Still poor grammar and sentence construction. I’m unsubscribing.
-
alexthegreat662Too many adsListened to you guys for awhile, but now it’s every 5-6 minutes is an ad. Sorry, can’t do it anymore where I have to skip your ads to get back to the story. Waste of my time.
