years-long fan, but the serial sleuths subscription is disappointing..
i’ve been an avid true crime fan for years, and have loved annie’s channel. i’ve watched her since her very first setup years ago! my husband and i listen to every single pod episode, and have been thoroughly pleased, in fact we’ve been pleased enough that i’ve subscribed. i just listened to the first episode of subscribers only and im really disappointed in the sound quality of this. i’m not sure if it’s a different setup or what’s up with the quality but it’s really irritating when the free episodes are better than the paid version. I SHOULD ADD - yes, i’ve watched all throughout the surgery days and everything and had no issues. even when apple gave me a free trial months ago, no real problems. since then, it’s like the quality has just gone down with each one. it’s on the pod itself; my husband sees the same issue, i see it, even my mom asked if the new ones were being heard next to a blanket or something because it’s entirely different. headphones in, out, different environments, doesn’t matter, just like a forced muffled and almost even rushed audio. this is clearly pod-related and really disappointing seeing as this is a paid version and i should’ve just kept the free version :(

    SO MANY ADS
I enjoy listening, but I listen to a lot of podcast and this is the only one that feels like half of the time is just advertisements. There are multiple long ads every few min. I know ads are necessary for the host, but this seems excessive. There are also a lot of episodes that I can’t see without paying. Given how much time I spend listening to ads, that’s frustrating. Otherwise, I really enjoy this podcast. It’s just weird to feel like profit is so prioritized with this kind of subject matter.

If u want to trust a story that is being told and described to u then this is the podcast to listen to. True crime at its best.

    Love this podcast
Love love love your podcast! I have been seeing on tiktok recently, a boy named noah presgrove who was found on the side of the road after a party. I would love if you could do a deep dive on it cause I’m not sure what information is true or not!

    Terrible title
Is that supposed to be a pun on Seriously? Because it doesn’t work. It looks more like “Serial Lousy”. Just really a reach. Never listened but the title deserves one star

    “Guys”
I’m not a guy though... Every episode we’re called “guys” several times. The way this “guy” (Annie E lease) speaks feels very middle schooly. Additionally, this is one of those “podcasts” that’s actually video-focused, so the audio isn’t prioritized. Playing seedy audio for extended time is really a bad idea.

    Latest episode
Just realized your latest episode is about a girl I went to high school with in Okinawa Japan. She was so kind. Glad he’s in prison

    Too much from the offenders
I listen to true crime podcasts to hear ABOUT these a-holes, not FROM them. It’s excruciating to have to listen to long blocks of pigs like Steve Powell and Ali Abulaban. I’m actually dropping my original review from a 4 to a 5 because I noticed that the last few episodes I had to skip over long stretches of really unpleasant audio. Overall I appreciate AE’s coverage, but I think she is strong enough to tell the story of these awful people without having to rely on long clips of them blabbing about how great they are and how terrible the women are. Not to mention, mixing audio sources makes for a really uneven experience for the listener. When it’s an audio track from a YT video it’s hard to understand what’s being said and there, of course are no subtitles and AE doesn’t really explain what was said. A huge portion of the Ali Abuluban episode was completely unintelligible to listeners.

As someone who was VERY interested in this case I thought I knew everything but as it turns out I did not! Really surprised to hear new info but that’s why I keep coming back to Annie. The subscription is so worth it!

    My Absolute Favorite Podcast
I wasn't a fan of podcasts at the beginning. I came across this one from a video on TicTok. Now I have listened to all of her episodes and really look forward to new ones. I really like how it feels like it is just 2 friends talking about different cases. I listen while I'm at work and when I'm doing housework.

    Weekly must for me
I really enjoy this podcast and hope to meet you one day at crimecon! I will say that there are many other kinds of true crime out there besides murder cases: cults, fraud, robbery, trafficking, etc. Expanding the kinds of crime cases would be interesting, in my opinion. But I love the details and the feel like it’s a conversation with a friend. Thanks bestie 🖤

    Parasocial relationship say whaaaaaat
The idea of a ‘true crime bestie’ is disgusting. The last place I expected to hear someone trying to create a parasocial relationship with their audience. It must work, given the size of her audience on different platforms. I’ve never heard more ads per episode on a podcast than I have on this one. The audio taken from calls, recordings, interviews, etc is impossible to understand. Audio will be quiet on some episodes and loud on others, or within the episode will be like she’s whispering and then you get blasted by a recording.

    Recommendation
You do SO WELL when covering these cases. I’d love for you to do a podcast on the disappearance of Gretchen Fleming from Parkersburg, WV. She’s currently still a missing person and the person of interest used to be a cop but changed his name after he left the police department.

    Nasty work!
This podcast is honestly virtue singling at its worst. The creator is only concerned about making financial gain, which is totally fine but when she try’s to act like she’s being geniune it’s disturbing. Posting pics of passed children on Patreon for sale is sick work. I hope one day she grows some empathy. Also, her information is riddled with falsehoods, better research will suit her listeners well. Hard pass for me.

    LOVE this podcast!
Editing my previous review: I LOVED this podcast when it first launched, and when Annie first started YouTube. However I’ve noticed a significant increase in ads, which I understand are necessary but COMEON especially the beam ones good grief. In my opinion her tone and demeanor has changed as well, she isn’t my true crime bestie she’s judging everyone and everything the whole episode. “GUYS GET THIS” constantly. I’m so sad and I hope things improve soon.

    My Favorite Podcast
I’ve listened to multiple true crime podcasts in the past, and this is hands down my favorite!!! I’ve never written a review before either so that says a lot 😆 I love the way that Annie delivers the story, making it seem like I’m just listening to my true crime bestie talking about a case. I also really enjoy listening to the Headline Highlights on Thursdays knowing what is going on in todays world. Also thank you so much Annie for covering the Chad Dumbbell 🤣 and Karen Reed court cases as they had went on. I love the extra effort you put in to making your listeners happy, and keeping them updated on court cases like those!

    Annie Is My Girl!!
Annie, I Have you everywhere. Apple, Spotify & Youtube! You are there when I need to deep clean. You are there when I cook dinner. You are there when I do self care or on the road. Annie delivers her podcast as if we are sharing stories we just heard and found what we could share she we get up to date on cases and court updates!!!! It’s honestly hands down the best. Keep spreading awareness, keep bringing these monsters to light because sadly they are everywhere. Listening to these podcasts are awesome but let’s not forget that’s actually someone’s life that we are listening to and it’s dreadful. Love what your doing and stay safe &Don’t kill people, ladies & gents.

    Love this podcast!!!
I very rarely write review's but I am so impressed with this podcast that I had to. I have recommended to everyone I know. You do such a great job of diving into cases and giving the whole entire story. Amazing!!!
  • HeyGeorgiaMay
Get to the topic of the episode title
I sure do enjoy this podcast! However, if the title of the episode is Karen Read can you lead with that? The most recent episode took over 20 minutes before the case was even mentioned. Don’t love that! I’m listening to the episode for a specific reason so the title seems a bit misleading.

    IM OBSESSED
I’ve honestly never been hooked on a podcast before but I love it!! I feel like Annie Elyse is my best friend who I drive to work with everyday. I love the current and up to date episodes, that’s probably what keeps me here and just the good job she does.
  • SlothsSwimWeirdHuh?
    I’m so proud of you!
I’ve been watching since before kids, before zebra wall paper, since ring light days, since probably your 2nd or third YT upload. I remember thinking “This girl is great!” You were diggin deep into so many cases and you always cover some of the hardest, heart breaking cases and when you go on a rant, you’re speaking for all of us! We’re right there with you! Keep up the great work! Bravo! ♥️

    Love you
This podcast truly gets me through my day with also allowing me to get my true crime fix in! All the cases are explained in an intriguing way! I don’t get bored. Thank you!
  • TAMP1
    Love this podcast but…
The last episode was so hard to listen too. Annie girl, I love you but so much rambling and side thoughts that didn’t make much sense. I’ll never give you less that 5 stars though.

    Five stars!
Love this show and the depth. Would love to see all the Karen Read content! I definitely enjoy the “in the news now” content.

    Truly Captivating!
I love how she tells the story! Annie always has me on the edge of my seat, wanting more! I love the stories, news updates, & any extras. Her headline highlights keep me updated on many cases, which I find awesome! I feel more aware. She gives ALL the details, which gets me, I like the honesty! She has a variety of cases, information, etc. some of the most interesting to me is cults. But whatever she talks about keeps me interested. Some of the most interesting stories is when Hidden True Crime joins her. I am now also a subscriber so I can here the extra stories. She does not hold back, which I love, keep it up! She is someone I would love to meet, I feel she is real, cares about her fans, & cares about every case she talks about. I could go on & on… mainly just listen you’ll love it!

    Best podcast ever!
I absolutely love your show!! I have binge listened for quite a while now. Starting from the beginning to present. I have tried other podcasts before I stumbled across yours. I found many other casters are very monotone and don’t add any feeling to their stories they share. Your stories are intriguing and engaging. I have always loved true crime. I’m just happy and grateful that I found your channel!!! Much love ❤️❤️ Amber Lynn Burke

    Addictive
I started binging this podcast at the beginning of March and I have officially listened to every available episode including the subscription episodes. This podcast is engaging and an easy listen! I used to struggle with staying focused on audio, but Annie is truly engaging! I’m sad I’ll have to find another podcast to listen to between episodes, but love this podcast! ETA- My only critique is please don’t spoil outcomes in the title. I don’t follow true crime anywhere else, and I wish the Chad Daybell case updates hadn’t stated “found guilty” or “gets death” in the titles. I wish I would have found out by listening. I think more appropriate titles would’ve been “conviction update” or “sentencing hearing update.”
  • Dudewheresmyshyt
    Love this podcast!
You are the ultimate true crime bestie. Your deep dives are so detailed and I love that you cut right to the chase and make it make sense. I sometimes fall asleep to it 😅 there recently has been some biased opinions when it comes to Chad Dumbell , and sometimes that does hinder the facts of the case, but he is awful I can agree! I’m always impatiently waiting for a new episode to drop! Some suggestions on cases to deep dive! -The Amazon killer- Todd Kholhepp - Cassandra Bjorge and Johnny Rider - Elisa Lam, and the murder of Elizabeth Olten by Alyssa Bustamante (it’s from my town/area!)

    Just Found You!
My lucky day! This podcast is excellent. The precise reporting, audio clips from court TV, local news, and court proceedings make the deep dive interesting & authentic. Such a great investigative reporter and narrator to the stories of victims.
  • MCD525
    All behind paywall
All full episodes are behind a paywall now. Also I think Chad Daybell is the scum of the earth, but talking about him not being in gen pop so unfortunately he won’t get sexually assaulted was a WEIRD, gross take.
  • Deep State Shill
    Pretty decent show.
Annie is great. She is relatable and covers some stuff I’ve never heard of. She keeps up to date and obviously does her homework. However, she has a tendency to go off on a tangent and often times it’s kinda pointless. Also, the castration stuff was freaking weird. Like, totally at odds with the rest of the show. Seriously, that was strange.

    Favorite True Crime Podcast!
Easily my favorite and I listen to a lot! I also bought Beam tea and she’s right, it works and is like an awesome treat at night.

    Chad Daybell
I love in Idaho and attended the 1st day of jury selection. Dumbbell's lawyer filled an appeal asking the Idaho Supreme Court to examine his case, verdict, and death sentence 👎

Why Terra? I feel for her, however, she’s insufferable. Skipping this episode.

Back again for a great review
I just wrote a review as a new listener but THEN, I listened to Annie’s recount of Nicole Kessinger’s lies. Yoooo Annie did maddd research and did her thorough due diligence on that case. Hats off. Not only is she very listenable but she’s very transparently credible. Her work ethic to deliver to us is unmatched. Props Annie 💐
