    Please never stop my man
I have tried to find and locate other podcasts with your spirit and you telling these podcasts. 3/4 of the episodes I’m usually smiling because the way that you tell a story it really takes me away from the world I’m in and reminisce with what you’re saying. It’s like you’re smiling during the whole podcast on most of them. Especially when talking about the toys, businesses, and anything else nostalgic. Thank you very much for having this podcast and I hope you never go anywhere. You have a great attitude. I don’t care how many millions of podcasts there are now I will never stop following this one. And still today I can’t find one that tells the story the way you do. So of course I “won’t dare miss it“ 😊🫡🇺🇸

    The 1980s. My favourite era
This podcast is fantastic and brings back so many memories. The host is so passionate and knowledgeable about the period. So glad to have found this

    80’s Rule
Really interesting podcast on the best decade. Host must get paid by the minute tho. Speaks sooo slow and methodical. Have to play sped up.

    Pronunciation counts
I like this podcast. But the host can’t pronounce “nuclear” correctly, and during the Chernobyl episode, it drove me insane!
  • kmc1105
    NUCLEAR!!!
Sorry, I just had to get that out. I really like this podcast, but if you’re covering the 1980s you really have to know how to pronounce “nu-cle-ar,” as the word comes up a lot! If I have to listen to Jamie say “nuke-u-lar” one more time, my ears are going to start to bleed. Otherwise it’s a perfectly fine podcast, a little boring at times as topics and “bits” are often repeated from episode to episode, but there’s enough nostalgia to keep us Gen Xers coming back.

    Great Depth of Material
I love the amount of detail given in this podcast. It’s tough with historical podcasts like this to provide enough context, but at the same time, not get lost in too much detail. He somehow managed to walk this line.

Nostalgia trip ahead! Love this pod. Plus they talk laserdisc on occasion.
Don't change a thing except add more excuses to talk laserdisc please. 🙇‍♂️💿

    Nice!
This is an easy to listen to podcast. The host is great, the topics are great. The only thing I would suggest is that you also list the U.S. customary measurement system when talking about these items…ie miles vs. kilometers for those topics that happened in the USA…such as the Balloon disaster of 1986 that happened in Ohio.

    totally rad...I'm stoked!
This is a great 80's nostalgia podcast! The subjects are really on point and well researched! The subjects he choses are so on point I really wish that he would do longer form podcasts on the subjects (example: the fall of Kodak, the Muppet Show) 30 minutes or so is just too quick for some of these subjects!! But 5 stars.

Such a wonderful time to grow up! Thanks for bringing us back with each episode!

    BORING
I couldn’t even make it through one episode. Dull.
  • Boy of the WRONG DECADE
    Very informative
I never grew up in the 80’s or 90’s, and it makes me jealous of how things are now compared to what they where then

I look forward to every new episode of this Podcast.

    80’s
I grew up during this time. I’m a 60’s kid. So this show is awesome. Love it.

    Great stuff!
The best nostalgic podcast. As someone obsessed with the 80s that wasn’t born even close to the decade I get to get a glimpse into life and pop culture in the decade.

    Jim Henson’s Cartoonist loves this!
Hi Jamie, I have really enjoyed listening to your program! Of course, you hooked me with the work I did with Jim and our amazing magic team! Loved the Muppet Babies episode! Hearing all of my friends names, and even some comments from Katie! I started working with Jim in 1980 and was with him until his passing. It was an amazing decade, and I am so incredibly blessed to have been part of Muppets Magic! Keep the magic and spirit alive 💚🌈 Guy Gilchrist

    Almost Perfect
I love hearing about arguably the best decade of all time. It’s a straight up, to-the-point show with no filler. I think the host could be less robotic, and should sound like he actually enjoys what he’s doing. Otherwise, this is close to perfect as a nostalgia show can be.

Love your show but you missed some stuff!
Hey Sir! Your show is awesome. It takes me back! But what about the coolest 80’s prime time TV?! A-Team Knightrider Air Wolf Auto man V- the lizard aliens who peels their faces off …and you missed these movies! Karate Kid (best 80s movie ever) Superman, Superman II, Superman III Batteries Not Included

Just found the show and love it! Great format and awesome!

    Good…. Not
Imagine a podcast in which content is an audible listicle and you have this. The nature of essentially reading lists is the cadence of this content is delivered in 2 sentence chunks. Research is also questionable at best.
  • Jrosterhoudt
    I tried
After 100+- episodes I just couldn’t listen anymore. His tone and delivery sounds so scripted and mundane. His push for patreon for 2 minutes on every episodes was too much and desperate.
  • Alime038507
    Great show!
Very interesting/entertaining! I was very young when the 80’s ended, so this podcast is teaching me some things I never knew. Also, I love when Jamie says “Don’t you dare miss it!” ❤️

    Awesome show
I’m a GenXer and all of these casts help me remember things I may have forgotten. Loads of fun. Jamie is a great host and speaker. So happy I found this cast.

    This podcast gives me life.
This is the first podcast review I’ve ever written, but I can’t stop binging this show. I imagine this series is to children of the 80s what Jean Shepard (A Christmas Story) felt like to kids of the 40s and 50s.

    Fun, informative, and entertaining
Great podcast, as someone who grew up in the 80’s you’ve given me a lot fun memories to reflect on while listening. Thank for all your efforts.

    Best 80’s show
I appreciate the balance of knowledge, entertainment, and personal anecdotes from the host. It puts this show on top of many, if not all other 80’s shows I’ve listened to. Highly recommend!

    One of my favorite podcasts.
I was born in 1984 and I am a huge fan of nostalgia. This podcast hits all of the feels - touching on toys, television, movies, and other subjects that bring the listener right back into the 80’s. Awesome content. Five stars.
  • Sarbear_88
    Love it!!
I just started listening because my sister told me about it and now I’m totally hooked!! His voice is so soothing too. I love how well he explains everything, there’s so many things I didn’t know.

    Amazing
Totally Awesome! If you are an 80’s kid or wish you were this is a must listen!!

    Worth your time
I really enjoy this podcast. It’s very educational (even for topics that I thought I knew a lot about) while still keeping your attention. I really appreciate that the host gets right to the point, and there isn’t a lot of filler. I have trouble dealing with a lot of the “banter” on other shows. This podcast is such a refreshing difference, and very well made.

    Best 80’s Podcast
Much better than any of the others out there. No woke nonsense only neutral politics. Thank you. Just well researched history unlike the rest. Wish there were more episodes.

Love it. But please fix the gating of the mic.
I was but a wee kid in the 80s (born in ‘82). But I was a part of, and remember, so much of this. I get nostalgic as I learn new facts about stuff I remember, or discover stuff about the 80s I didn’t know. Great material and delivery, Jamie. That said, the last handful of episodes I have listened to have been hard get through due to the recording/mix. It sounds like there is a really heavy gate on the mic resulting in the first sound of each sentence being slightly cut off, especially “P” and “B” consonants, and a slight pop when sound does come in. If you start a sentence with “But”, it sounds like “[popping sound]Ut…” I understand gates are useful and sometimes necessary to dry up the recording and cut out breathing and other extra noise. But it seems excessive to the point of distracting. Maybe it’s the platform on which I’m listening? But it’s in the uploading? I’m not a podcaster so I don’t know, but I am a musician and recording artist, so I can hear it. I won’t stop listening, it would just be nice if this gets better. Thank you.
