leslie in alabamaLove it!Dear concerned citizen, I love your podcast, and I love you like a guy. I don’t know. I love your back stories and the research is amazing. I’m loving the dark sense of humor, it always makes me snicker. That being said, quit hating on the Black Keys! They had their time, and hopefully will make it back in the front of the bus, but just give them a little leeway, OK? Sure, I know you can. Keep doing what you’re doing! ❤️

gn1330The Best! One of the best if not the best podcast out there! CC is my hero! His dry humor and in-depth research makes my day! Keep up the good work!
-
SjdnshdnsnThe NarrationI love it because I get it.
-
LBNP17Top notchHigh quality production. Including short ads, quality audio. Really interesting and very well executed. Listening from the beginning and I know it only gets better.
-
Enough already..Decent deliveryI don’t mind his flat delivery and he keeps the episodes a decent length to give enough info but not drag them out. My main problem is the rambling and throwing his political beliefs in every chance he gets.
-
Annoyed musician2344Consistently greatOne of the few shows i've stuck with since the beginning--the production, storytelling, and research are top notch, and the host is fantastic. Not to be missed.
-
Gmasandi8730Best podcast ever!!!!I love the host, the content, the music, everything about this show. It makes me uncomfortable and makes me think about the world around me in a way I didn’t before listening to this podcast; at least not to the degree I do now. I recommend it to everyone I can. Keep it coming.

SRstarrThe music has to goI tired to listen to a full episode but the music was unnerving. Like it feels like it’s there while they are giving background info and you expect it to stop once the real story begins but it doesn’t. Which is weird and distracting from the story. I don’t mind their voice even if it’s bit monotone at times but the music gets in the way of the story. Too bad bc these stories sound interesting.
-
seggzboiCringeyInteresting stuff but the delivery with the monotone voice and eerie true crime music in the back is so cringe.
-
SamIAmATXBetter than all the restThis is the best podcast out there in Podworld. Period.
-
rj-88Other sideI’m a conserned billionar.

Darm&PhilThat did itHi vegans. I’m here. GD it, Swindled.

CassyK83Come OnI’m a fairly new listener to this podcast. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. That was, until today. I usually think trigger warnings can be a bit silly and unnecessary. HOWEVER, I had to turn the Tyson foods episode off because the sound of the pig being tortured and screaming in pain while being angrily berated by a worker made me physically ill. I’m a huge animal lover, and if I’d known there was AUDIO of animal torture, I would have happily skipped this one. Do better. One thing you should ALWAYS warn your audience about? Audio of abuse!! Unsubscribed.

Annapiranha215MonotonousDespite being subject matter I am usually super engaged in, the flat voice and unnatural diction made it so hard to listen to. I tried multiple episodes, restarted when I realized I wasn’t taking in anything the narrator was saying. I listened really closely to see if I could identify it as an AI generated voice but I really can’t tell. Maybe a different type of AI voice would be an improvement.
-
tjmanettiMy favorite podcastAt first ACC's voice kind of annoyed me because his delivery is kinda flat and monotone. But now it's actually one of my favorite things about the podcast. Deadpan delivery with hints of sarcasm and killer jabs. Love it, so funny. ACC is doing a public service producing these shows. Please never stop.

Kslice319The Machine (Tyson Foods) Changed my LifeI’ve been listening to Swindled for many years and The Machine episode truly changed my outlook on my, seemingly conscious, attempts to maintain an animal cruelty free lifestyle. I am super impressed with the research done to present all of the flaws in our US animal production practices and I thank you for shedding the light on areas where I can and will do better. Great podcast all around and very impactful episode for me personally. Thank you for all that you do to open your listeners eyes/minds.
-
realitystrikesbackDo Jeff Bezos nextThe way you complain about Tyson Foods I can’t wait to hear your story on Jeff Bezos and how he ruined every small business in America and runs the most biased media
-
GiveEmABreakEssentialThe only podcast I feel I have to listen to the minute it drops. When I listen to this….I know I’m not crazy and I’m not alone. We should question the way the world works. Swindled just proves it.
-
Stupid nickname here.Ouch.This would be five stars BUT. I’ve been listening for a long time-great show. Was thinking I should become a Valued Listener to contribute to the greatness that is this show. But after tonight I’m not so sure. *I am not a trigger warning type of person* but the Tyson Foods episode just released could have benefited greatly from a warning that there would be sounds of a very human sounding pig…screaming in pain. I was across the room and couldn’t hit pause fast enough. So thanks, now I get to go to bed with the horrifying sound in my head.
-
CatapostropheUnlistenable. The narration style of this podcast is so unnatural that I couldn’t listen for more than a few minutes. I tried different episodes and the pronunciation was even more robotic, with oddly deliberate diction and flat inflection. I don’t think it’s an AI voice, but that almost makes it worse.
-
Sarah C1983Seriously one of the best, most exposing “true crime” podcasts everI probably won’t do a great job of explaining just how fantastic I think the podcast is. He dives deep, with recordings of events, and tells the story completely - all figures involved are scrutinized equally. It’s such a refreshing, entertaining, and educating ~1 hour. Thank you!
-
cindykc56His hypnotic voice will draw you inWhat a great podcast, no annoying back and forth about, just the layout of facts, peppered with a bit of deadpan sarcasm, a la Fight Club. This here dude, known only as A Concerned Citizen, reminds me of The Narrator in that aforementioned film. His voice is so mesmerizing and hypnotic that you can’t stop listening to him. He’s also done his homework and handles himself well, with sound effects and audio archives to match the quality. Keep up the good work, Concerned Citizen!

sdc70Great contentVery well researched, excellent narration. Always enjoyable to listen to Loved hearing Jack Luna in your Swindled Valued Listener commercial. Fun surprise!
-
LydianalaModeOnly crime podcast worth your time. Outstanding.Outstanding, unique, and above all important as it’s the ONLY podcast that explores so-called white collar crime! Swindled is easily in the top three of “true crime” podcasts in terms of the quality of production, the precise and elegant writing, the engaging storytelling, soundscape, superb use of real audio clips including archival material, etc. The episodes feature superbly researched accounts of “white collar” crimes — though these quite frequently include the usual panoply of murder, kidnapping, etc. And the narrator is fantastic — “Concerned Citizen” is very wry and takes to task the appalling figures in these stories with a serious yet also (when appropriate) hilariously sarcastic tone. Swindled also covers stories that won’t be overly familiar or that you’ve ever heard of and there are NO episodes covering the same repetitive garbage that clutters the majority of true crime podcasts (no serial killers etc).
-
pasadynaaaaaThe bestI love this podcast! It’s so well researched and he weaves the information together to keep it interesting.
-
LeslucLove the sense of humorI enjoy most of the shows but I’m not crazy about the abrupt endings.
-
Elaine in BaltimoreStraight forward story tellingVery well done. Host is serious yet has a sense of humor.
-
Kari*^{\<\One of my favoritesI was so happy to see that a new season of Swindled was out. This is one of my favorite podcasts. Well written and I love the host’s dry sense of humor.
-
Ihatethisshit01One of a kind—listen todayThis podcast is so well researched, and the stories are woven together so beautifully. Truly one of the best podcasts out there. No chitter chatter, just excellent reporting. A Concerned Citizen drops little scathing jabs like bread crumbs in his monotone delivery that are deadpan, and hilarious. Chef’s kiss!
-
the herqueenshipExcellent!Standing ovation EVERY TIME!!!
-
InpursuitofglamA long timeIs this show done or are wrapping it up? I haven’t seen anything now since late summer. Thankyou for all your hard work! We love you maybe you’ll come back someday in the future Bye
-
lohuddJust facts!Really well done! No fanfare, just the stories - plus a nice smattering of (well done) dry humor. Easy to listen to and I always learn a lot.
-
citi theft victimNo content warning for GRAPHIC animal abuseI’ve loved this podcast for a couple years until today, when I was listening to the PG&E episode while I was taking a shower and I had to come flying out of the shower soaking wet to shut it off so I was not forced to listen to absolutely disgusting graphic depictions of animal abuse. I shouldn’t be surprised that a podcast run by men doesn’t understand the concept of consent, but I don’t appreciate this disgusting content being pushed on me. The story could have been told without bringing kittens into it.
-
5280TBreath of Fresh AirWith all of the true crime ladies laughing at themselves on their podcasts, I appreciate learning something from every Swindled show. No frills, just facts. Looking forward to more eps.
-
Carriemimix4One of the best podcastsI have been listening for about a year now and really enjoy the stories and live the way they are told. So informative
-
KduzzleListen to at least a full episode…before making a judgement. At first listen, the monotony of the host’s voice is almost distracting. But by the end of the first episode I listened to, I appreciated the no nonsense facts and no fluff.
-
Paco&RubyA radical leftist w a podcastI was excited to listen but got fed up with the anti-centrist anti-conservative bile. It forces you to wonder how much of what he says is true. I would avoid the self-torture and find something better to listen to.
-
av1754Good crime podcast.Good true crime podcast focusing mostly on financial and corporate crime. A bit too much e-begging but it’s a decent show.
-
999Cupcake999WonderfulThis is an amazing, independent podcast. The host is so deadpan but also a wealth of knowledge. I enjoy every single episode and highly recommend it to everyone.
-
oilfield conservativeUniquely Amazing PodcastThere are so many great episodes, all I can say is Listen to this one!! Leave a review, but Do Not send the podcast a package, they don’t trust you, me, or anyone for that matter 😂! You’ll understand…….
-
HughinnoInteresting, unique and well producedLove the story telling style and the uniqueness of the production. The short stories at the beginning are a treat! It has that unique Austin flavor a bit weird sometimes but awesome.
-
tessyuhInteresting topics, poor productionThe subject matter is important and incredibly interesting and informative, but the monotone host and the production level leaves a lot to be desired.

GołąbkiKilpatrick was/is innocentKilpatrick’s prosecution amounts to no less than a modern day lynching. If our current Mayor, Mike Duggan, was held to the same standard, he would’ve been hanged long ago.

Rebo808BEST Podcast WORST sound effectsThis podcast is my all time favorite. I love it so much that I will deal with being incredibly overwhelmed and annoyed by the constant scratching noises used to distinguish when he’s using an audio clip. It’s like nails on a chalk board. The worst audio choice yet was the incessant noise used behind 10 minutes of The Crusader episode. It genuinely sounds like a flood alarm going off in the background of the episode. I wanted to listen so badly but I had to turn that one off.

Naz0786Review after 1 listen!Looking forward to listening to more of this podcast after the Bayer episode. Wow - so eye opening! Love supporting people from TX who are doing this on their own! Keep the great work coming! Thanks
-
JPBinthehouseSurprisingly like something seriousI typically listen to ridiculous and silly spins on podcasts. This is one of my only “serious” podcasts I listen to. But I hear you and your subtle sarcasm and humor. Great research, thought provoking, and makes me rethink a ooyof long ingrained perspectives on the world.
-
PelicanbriefThe bestEvery episode has been terrific! The narration is good not intrusive & no overpowering music nor overproduced. Host occasionally but rarely breaks the fourth wall which I enjoy. The intros are superb and can stand alone as Bonus episodes. A rare mispronunciation but that adds to the intimacy of the show. Be sure to listen to closing credits and don’t miss the host’s sponsored segments. Distinctive & idiosyncratic storytelling at its best. The episode icons are fun as well.
