    West Memphis part 8
Purposely mispronouncing names simply because Stephanie does like them; is behavior of a middle school students. Unattractive, but fixable.

    I just love you guys
Not enough people are talking about this podcast. If you’re a true crime junkie like me, at some point, you run out of options, which leads you to search out new ones. I’m so glad found this one! It’s going to keep me happily entertained for awhile!

    Best research!!
I’ve listened to Crime Weekly since their beginning. I love Stephanie’s detailed research paired with Derrick’s detective perspective, plus their occasional “brother sister” banter is the icing on the cake! They do lots of cases I think I know everything about, but it’s like hearing them for the first time with the detail they give. Highly recommend this podcast if you love true crime!

    How do you not know
Why Lori Vallow didn’t get death penalty? To say you have followed from the beginning. The death penalty for Lori was because the prosecution was dragging their feet about turning over evidence on time, and with short time due to speedy trial request.

    More Derick
I think we’re missing out when Derrick doesn’t research the case.

    The best!
Thank you for the amazing podcast.❤️

    Steep decline in quality
two years ago I would’ve given it 5 stars, but the female host talks over the detective every time he gives his opinion and makes it unwatchable. why is he there if all she wants is for him to agree? also after realizing lots of episodes are mostly plagiarized i don’t care to listen anymore
  • nacely23
    Stephanie messed the podcast up
I use to love this show and still love derrick. But stephanie has become so unbearable with her constant need to argue. her constant need to bring up perosnal stories and calling everyone a narc. I can’t stomach the show anymore. Moving on the detectives perspective

    Love
I’m a rural mail carrier and y’all get me through some very long days! You both do an amazing job! I love your friendship, your compassion for the victims and the research you put into each case! Keep up the amazing work and God bless!

    Parts 1-3 were excellent!

    Love you both!
I work over night from home. Before I even clock in I turn on YouTube and watch you go through the cases. Thanks for getting me through the night. I love you both. PS Maybe you two can find out what happened to Baby Lisa. Kansas City 2011.

    Interesting question
Do you guys ever wonder if the bad guys watch/listen to you guys to learn how to be better at being bad guys?

    Loving the podcast
I started listening a few ago after I saw Derrick on news nation. I am loving the pod cast and the conversations and how you both approach cases! Keep it up. Just ordered my first bag of coffee also!

    Great podcast
I have liked Derrick since big brother but I really enjoy hearing the different opinions and view points y’all point out. This has become my favorite podcast to listen to.

This case was VERY triggering for me. To answer your question yes i have been told a few times if you ever cheat on me ill kill you if you leave me i’ll kill you & lastly he threaten to kill himself if i left him. i believe it took me the 8th time to FINALLY leave & never go back. best decision i ever made for myself. i never understood why victims stayed for so long but i truly understand why now.

    Cruises and Any Bradley
Derek I’m begging you to read what the cruise line did to Any Bradley’s family. I agree Stephanie cruises are lawless and not safe.

    Great Podcast and Dynamic
I started listening at the behest of a staunch follower! Once I started listening I was sucked in trying to soak up as much of the episodes as possible before CrimeCon24!!! I am really invested into this podcast and I thoroughly enjoy the content. After meeting them and seeing how much they invest in meeting there followers and supporters it was refreshing trying to have a purposeful and meaningful convo with everyone!!! I couldn’t do it that’s for sure!!! Hoping for BIG WINS in 2025 for them!!!!!!
  • cemahan
    New to the podcast
I absolutely love y’all!!!! I’m new here and the deep dives are AWESOME. I love how much work is put into this

    Poor research, cop apologist
Stephanie’s “research” (aka reading from Wikipedia & repeating her own opinions as fact ad nauseam) is a joke & her need to be right ALL THE TIME is insufferable. Derrick’s need to apologize for every cop’s actions in every single case is just as annoying. I used to listen weekly & recently tried again & they’ve both gotten even worse. Just upload a 90 second ad for your coffee & move on. This podcast is dead.
  • krks13
Used to be one of my favs
This podcast used to be one of my favorites, but over time I’ve lost interest. The episodes are way longer than they need to be. If they cut out the unnecessary banter and personal stories they would be much shorter. Also don’t know what happened to Stephanie but she’s become insufferable to listen to.
  • Becca.S89
    Huh?
It’s a shame what this show has become. The allegations of Stephanie’s plagiarism were quite jostling, but not as much as her selling out to Skims (and a million others ads each episode.) The final straw was the Menendez case. I’m not sure if they decided what they wanted their final thought to be at the beginning, or if the research was too daunting, but the mark was missed on this one. As someone who has watched the entire trial, it felt surreal to hear what information was given and omitted this whole series. Also, I thought criminal coffee was supposed to highlight unknown cases? The ones without a voice? Instead we get adnan syed, Casey Anthony, the west Memphis three — all just money grabs for views on YouTube.

    Solved or unsolved?
Wrote in notes if case is solved or unsolved. Waste of time for those of us who don’t listen to unsolved. It’s not that difficult.

    Love these two!
You two are great together, love how you switch it up, love your candor and empathy, love that you give us your unvarnished thoughts, and I really think you have set a standard for GIVING back with Criminal Coffee! Thank you!

    My favorite podcast
I’ve been a listener from the very beginning. I love the different points of view from Derrick and Stephanie. I’ve tried listening to other true crime podcasts and just can’t seem to get into them. I simply prefer the way Derrick and Stephanie do it. 🤷‍♀️
  • SheaC620
    So well done!
I love how well researched and detailed this podcast is, and the hosts have a fun dynamic with enough contrast to their opinions to make it fun instead of just argumentative. Looking forward to being a fan for years to come!

    🫶🏻
I had the privilege of meeting Derrick and Stephanie at CrimeCon 2024 in Nashville! It started with Steph by herself, then moved to crime weekly, then CW news, and now Derrick alone! I love everything! I hope you both feel the love from your many supporters… there are hateful people out in this world, but 99.99999% of us love you both! It was so cool to speak with y’all!! I hope to see you again at next years convention!! 🩷🩷 KEEP BEING AMAZING!! Ps.. the coffee is so good🤣!
  • geemaroe
    Love this show!
The research that Stephanie does for each and every case is so insanely in depth I don’t know how she does it. I was originally hesitant to watch/listen because I didn’t know how I felt about Stephanie doing a podcast with someone I had never heard of (sorry Derrick). But now this is my favorite and really the only true crime podcast I listen to. I appreciate the perspective from a former detective/PI and the episodes are just really well done. I wish there were more of them because I can’t even wait until Sundays when the videos come out on YouTube I have to listen immediately when I get up on Friday mornings!
  • DDPirate
    Derrick > Stephanie
She is so annoying. Listen to your co-host…you don’t have to be the loudest in the room. How can you sympathize with Jose and Kitty? OJ was found not guilty. Unless you were there with Nicole and her boyfriend, you don’t know a thing. You should be more respectful to your co-host. Derrick—you should make your own second podcast. Ditch her. You’re was better on your own.
  • Leeshypie
    Always on point
I love this podcast!! I always look forward to Friday

    Get rid of Stephanie
She makes this entirely unlistenable. I used to love this podcast, I listened from the beginning to every episode, but I haven’t listened regularly in at least a year, except for maybe two cases. I have realized that the show is mostly just Stephanie rambling about her very strong, very loud, often very WRONG opinions that she shoves down Derrick’s throat, and him just trying to not say the wrong thing for fear of her telling him about how stupid he is. I wish she would just tell us the freaking details of the cases, she’s so annoying, it’s unbearable really. Unfollowing.
  • BeckyMNavarro
    Amazing!
I can’t say enough about how much I love this podcast! I literally look forward to Fridays to hear it. I LOVE the deep dives on each case. I wish I could’ve gone to meet both of you at crimecon, but hopefully next year I’ll make it!! Keep up the amazing work!
  • Pinball73
    Skip it.
Read Wikipedia and you’re covered. Not worth the wasted HOURS of unrelated tangents and listening to Stephanie’s desperate need to always be right.

    The Menéndez brothers
I accidentally found you when searching for information on the Menéndez brothers. Your coverage was perfect. Thank you for looking into this and sharing everything that you uncovered. Best coverage ever. I can’t wait to see what you cover next!!!!
  • Jaew2
    Great job!!
I’ve been listening to this podcast since the beginning. I appreciate the time and research Stephanie puts into this.
  • Mjh1014
    Gave up at WM3
Incredibly biased, argumentative, and just an aggregator of Wikipedia pages. The premise of the show is great, but Derek rarely gets to put his detective hat on and form an opinion. It’s a shame

    THANK YOU
I’ve been listening for about a year and a half, and I listen to many other true crime podcasts but I have yet to find one that is as well rounded and well researched as crime weekly. No one can do it like Stephanie Harlow does, and having Derricks knowledge and background to add to the discussion creates one of the most unique experiences for the listener. You both just keep on getting better and better with every case you bring to the table, you some how find ways to make it more interesting, you are factual, and yet empathetic. Not only do you advocate for the victims( sometimes without even having to say it), you use your platform to do your best to make difference in anyway that you can. It’s sad that a lot of other podcasts have this huge platform and don’t try to make a change or do something good with what they have created, I know there are some out there, but not enough. ( not including Mile higher podcast, love them too). You are both amazing hosts and great people, thank you for the content you bring us whilst taking advantage of this platform. You deserve all of the positivity coming your way 💕

    Bummed
I’ve always loved this podcast but I was super disappointed to hear them endorse Brett and Alice from the Prosecutors podcast. It’s so cringey that the prosecutors need them to sign their praises to get listeners because it’s honestly the most damaging manipulative podcast I’ve listened to.
  • ~Paige D.~
    Disappointed
I loved this show from the very beginning. Recently stopped listening. I’m just really disappointed. It’s not the same anymore and I feel like it’s gotten very unprofessional :(
  • lexaul
Host of the show plays a serial killer in a different show?
Call me crazy but I find it DISGUSTING that Stephanie claims to care about these victims, and makes a lot of money off of sharing their stories, yet glorifies murder in some YouTube show that she acts on. I think that is deplorable. You can’t have it both ways. Derrick is wonderful and I enjoy listening to his input.
  • LolaBean1241
    Unable to listen anymore
I unsubscribed and could no longer listen to this show about 6 months ago. Stephanie is so aggressive and combative and gets so many facts wrong. Derick is more interested in selling coffee and just lets her talk over him. The cases aren’t well researched anymore and are mostly Stephanie’s opinion going off on a tangent.

    Disinformation, distasteful, not good
This podcast is rife with misinformation. The “research” is poorly done. When there is correct information, it is plagiarized. Literally word for word from Wikipedia or documentaries I have watched. Also, the female host inserts herself into the stories of all the victims. It is off putting and unsettling. These are real victims of true crime. Because the host inserts herself she creates bias and tells the story through her own narrative. I would prefer facts and opinions based on fact..not on whatever the host is going through or has gone through. Overall the narrator is highly unlikeable and the cases poorly told. The victims in these cases deserve better. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PODCAST.
  • sn.ip3r
    really great if
you enjoy a podcast where one host exists on a permanent soapbox ready to steamroll any and every opinion that isn’t exactly hers, and the other seems to have no backbone or doesn’t care enough to push back. i started as a fan of stephanie, it’s been years but i’ve watched the quality of her content and attitude deteriorate over the last 6 months and i can’t really get passed her entire vibe anymore. im reviewing here because it’s less accessible, and dissenting opinions vanish from other platforms.
  • romanbuckminster
    Plagiarism
This podcast does zero research. Stephanie gets all her info from Wikipedia or docs about the case on TV, as she has been caught reading word for word from wiki more than once. She cites ZERO sources. Both Stephanie and Derrick partake in spreading mental health misinformation that is incredibly damaging. Not to mention Steiganie’s side project where she brutally pretends to unalive people. So much for caring about victims and families who have actually been through it. Unacceptable.

    Really stepped it up
Update: I’m glad I stuck with them and gave this a chance. They still convey their strong opinions but it feels a lot less judgy in later episodes so it makes me appreciate their point of view a lot more. This is one of the only 2 true crime podcasts I enjoy listening to. It doesn’t feel like news and it doesn’t feel like click bait. At this point, the only thing that I don’t like about this podcast is that I’m all caught up and can’t binge each story. Original review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here’s the thing. These episodes are so good because of the passion behind the research. They are also difficult for the same reason. So much judgment of everyone, even the listeners. If you can get past the caustic spewing of negativity that seems to come up from time to time, and the waxing on well past the point has been made, this is a pretty decent podcast. I do wish the hosts had more of an open mind and I agree with some of the other reviews about the weird kind of flirty dynamic between the two. But to their credit, they are doing things the way they want and if you don’t like it they seem to be fine with not having you as a listener. To be fair, I started at the beginning and haven’t quite made it through the first season so maybe it gets better.

    The audacity…
It pisses me off that Stephanie and Derrick drop the most amazing, well-produced, insightful episodes and then they make us wait a week for the next episode/ jk. Seriously, this is the very best true crime podcast of all time. I’ve been a silent listener/viewer of Crime Weekly since the very beginning, and it’s been so cool to watch both Stephanie and Derrick grow and become better each time. Their amount of research, dedication, and commentary is truly unmatched (not to mention they are also hilarious) 👏 The Menendez Brothers’ case is their most recent series, and I believe it to be the best they’ve ever done. Wonderful work!! 👏👏👏👏👏

    Menéndez brothers
These last few episodes bring me a little bit of trauma! When I was 11 yrs old my neighbors kid that was 17 tried to rape me, my family lived in Compton LA and thankfully a PI saw him pull me into the alley by the time the PI got to me the boy had my pants off and his pants off… the police took me to my house and my father went crazy when they told him! A few days later my dad went to the neighbors house looking for his dad the Dad basically told him kids will be kids so my dad came back home got his gun and told him if you don’t do something about your kid I will.. when my dad was walking back the dad and uncle shot my dad on his back… my dad turned around and got in a gun fight with them! One didn’t make it in 1985 the law self defense was still very valid and my father was didn’t do any jail time! He was asked to leave the LA area we had to move 300 miles away. The fact that this dad or any dad SAs their kids when my Dad almost died to protect me just makes me sick to my stomach! When Derrick said he would do anything for his daughters it made me remember what my dad did to protect me! I know Iam supposed to review the podcast here but I needed to get that out!!!

    You’re The Best
For some reason I didn’t think I would find the Menendez Brothers podcast interesting. Was I wrong! I’ve been bingeing it for days. As usual, I love the in depth research by Stephanie and Derrick’s police/investigative background adds a lot to the discussion. One of the best true crime podcasts out there.
