    Excellent podcast!
Just listened to the July 22, 2024 podcast with Rob Morris of Morris Customhides. This is just what I was looking for. I am a trapper and I have home tanned one hide and ruined one other. Rob did a great job of sharing his knowledge of field care of hides as well as tanning techniques.

    Great podcast
After visiting AK a couple times and partaking in some fishing and hunting with Alaskan friends your podcast makes me feel like I’m back in Alaska talking with my buddies about hunting trapping and fishing. Very blue collar show!!! Keep up the great content, and commitment to the wild!!!

    Did I hear that right?
Good show, good content. Enjoyed listening to the stories and adventures. However, unless I mis heard.. the one episode talked about killing a black bear but did not take the meat. ?? I could very well be mistaken, but it surely sounded that way. They mentioned getting the hide on salt and taking the skull. I’m sorry, but this is very unethical in my opinion. That’s the whole point in hunting, harvesting game to provide good meals for our families. Even donating it to a family in need! Why would you not take the time to process? I’ve eaten a lot of bear and it’s good! I do not understand the logic in this, and I felt it wasn’t right for the animal. I hope this was something that is rarely done. I understand predator management is an absolute must, but other than wolves and coyotes, leaving meat behind is very irresponsible. Just my 2 cents. I still thought this podcast was still good overall, but that point in the story was quite disappointing. That’s all.

Great Show, Great Hosts, Great Information! I typically don’t enjoy conversational podcasts, but these guys nail it. Super down to earth guys that have a great knowledge base to share. I respect that they don’t pander to one another and question each other sometimes. They are also humble enough to talk about non successes, and pose questions. Keep up the good work guys!

    Enjoying the podcast
This is a real Alaska podcast about hunting. I hunt their part of the state and they hunt mine. I learn about the north and chuckle about them learning about Southeast.

    Always Learning
I started hunting in Alaska about 8 years ago and you constantly are learning more things as you hunt new areas, new species and more. This is a great show, love that it is based here in the Interior and love the information that is provided. 10 out of 10

    Loving the informative conversations
The podcast is great, lots of information, good story telling, and mellow mature conversation by folks who seem to have open minds and maturity beyond their years.

    Misinformation
Alot of misinformation. Also the one host constantly talks over his cohosts and they never correct him. I made it through several episodes but finally had enough.

    Great podcast
It can go a little long at times, and some points are repeated too much. But overall, a great podcast with so much knowledge. Would highly recommend if you want to learn more about hunting in Alaska.

    Great podcast
Great show. Down to earth and realistic points of view without any arrogant attitudes. Their show sponsors are great people too. I checked out Bait’em 907 for some scent and ended up chatting with Jess for over a half hour. Good people.

    Great Content
Great content and information. Guy’s really know their stuff and are very down to earth. I’m newer to archery and just recently moved to Alaska. Listening to this show has been very informative and beneficial in growing my hunting knowledge in the state.

    Food for thought.
Best episode yet. (The one without Dalton) I have listened to most all of the and a “know it all” like Dalton is not what is needed in the industry or for folks looking to have a good/solid experience. He is very pretentious has poor communication skills and exaggerates his expertise. “Knowledgeable beyond his years” is a paid for quote at best; typical podcast in the outdoor industry pandering. Please continue the good work; but he needs put in his place for experience and knowledge level, placing ego in check would be a valuable exercise for him. “Guiding” is not an expert status or qualification; it’s a purchased item that many of us have had. His communication style as well as the cohosts deference and passivity leads people to believe that he is a master of his skill, but in actuality a compensatory behavior at best. Don’t let the people down and please continue transferring the realistic and actual knowledge that is owned.

    Love the podcast
I have two podcasts that I listen to on the way to work everyday, and I have stopped listening to them to binge this podcast. once I get caught up. I will add this to my rotation every week. Very professional from the first podcast!
  • aranchmom
    Great podcast.
Lots of good information especially for a beginner bear hunter like myself. Thanks, guys!
  • podclectic
Ok but kind of long and repetitive
Some good info They beat subjects to death though Lots of flip flopping And what feels like fake virtue signaling for example in the bear baiting episode’s I tend to agree with the othe 2 host more than the main guy. He comes off as a little pretentious and always cuts the other host off. That said these guys are putting out a lot of info and for the inexperienced Alaskan hunter Or newer hunter. Their is some good advice you will have to suffer through talking in circles though. I think a hunting podcast that tacked specific subjects should be run by one main podcaster with guest stars that have info on the subject in Interveiw form If it’s going to be several guys talking it need to be a looser forum mixed with stories and jokes a little bit lighter than these guys keep it just my opinion.
  • shaun yorkshire outdoors

    Great Alaskan Hunting Podcast
The Northern Hunter Podcast is one of the most informative hunting podcasts with an Alaskan focus. As a fledgling Alaskan hunter, I have learned a lot from the group’s many experiences hunting across the state. I’ve really enjoyed their conversations on rifle calibers and ballistics. Their audio quality is great and the guests they have fit perfectly with the group atmosphere. Give this podcast a listen if you live and hunt in Alaska, or if you’re planning to hunt in The Last Frontier. You will learn a lot, share a few laughs with the hosts and become a more effective hunter. - Kyle, from The Young Guides Podcast

    Great podcast time goes fast
Just listened to the first one, looks to be a great podcast as the time went way to fast. Keep them coming. Real information from people who live this life for real and not from a keyboard. Looking forward to more as a Midwest guy dreaming of hunting in Alaska.
