    Loving her memoir!
Chelsea’s book is dark and funny and meaningful, as you’d expect. It illuminates her long-time appreciation of celebrity bios. Get it. You’ll enjoy!

    Glamorous Trash
This sweetheart of a podcaster has my 3 favorite traits I hold dearest in a friend she’s smart, funny and brave. Hats off to you kiddo. a listener from Kansas

    All hits, no skips
This pod is hilarious, vulnerable without being trite, and always finds a way to make something deeply meaningful of even the most banal book. The kind of conversations that can really make you a better version of yourself, if you want. Every episode is a must listen!

    Love this show!
Chelsea does a great job and I like how it has evolved over the past few years. Its the only show for which I’m a subscriber.

    It’s got everything
This has become my daily commute podcast. Show is funny, heartfelt, and really makes you rethink the way you’ve thought about famous women who’ve been painted as dumb flakes with nothing to say and really how all women are painted that way. I love it, thank you. 💕p.s. I hate that book publishers (and courts!) protect abusers over survivors.

    Blacked Out
💕💕💕 You deserved to tell your story. All of it. The way it happened. I’m so very sorry for how badly it must hurt that you weren’t able to. I bought the book anyway. We love you and will show support 💕

    got me!
this podcast obviously originated as a giant infomercial for Chelsea’s own memoir which becomes a bit grating at times, but I’ve learned so much and I will be reading Chelsea’s memoir! I respect the hustle!

    Fabulous podcast!
I found out about this podcast when Delta Burke was interviewed because I absolutely love Delta and all things Designing Women as an 80s baby! However, after that interview I started to listen to each episode and even became a Patreon member! This is an absolutely fabulous podcast that highlights and champions women. It also got me back into reading! I can’t say enough positive things about this podcast, the amazing host Chelsea, and all the interesting guests! Thanks for such a interesting, thoughtful, and reflective podcast!

    Wonderful wonderful!
Can’t wait for the book release! The show is perfectly balanced with humor, depth, and darkness.

    Delta
Wow what a woman ! Thank god she was able to see the happy ending and how she is living her best life now! But we sure do miss her on our screens 💖

    Delta Burke. I’m moved
This is the first time I’ve ever heard this podcast, but have been a life long delta Burke fan. Suzanne sugarbaker was an icon in my life. When I saw she had done an interview, for the first time in forever, I ran to find this episode. I have had her memoir since 2011 and it always spoke to me. I love celebrity memoirs like crazy, reading a bunch and cannot wait to hear more of your podcast. Thank you for bringing the queen delta back 👑

    I didn’t know I needed this podcast
I haven’t read many celebrity autobio’s but I love this podcast so much. The host’s enthusiasm and heart keep me listening and it’s becoming the podcast I get the most excited about when new eps drop

This is part of my weekly podcast rotation!
If there is appointment television, then this is appointment pod listening with Chelsea and her rotating roster of guests. Coincidentally, I read a lot of these celebrity memoirs this year and discovering this podcast filled the void for my need to hear thoughtful, funny discussion about how much the turmoil, insecurities and pain of famous, iconic women can resonate with anyone. I’m excited to see this community develop lead by Chelsea’s warmth, humor and curiosity. And years later, the Delta Burke interview elated me and touched me to the core!

    Misleading Misinformation podcast
The hosts advertised that they had read every single Spice Girls memoir for an episode when a simple google would have revealed that they missed half of them. They would rather have clickbaity titles than be accurate about what they’re covering. The women also didn’t know much about the topics they were focusing on, so why act like they’re some sort of comprehensive source?

    Great podcast
As a woman that was raised with so many men (luckily good ones) you’ve helped me overcome internalized misogyny that I didn’t even know was still there. Learning about women and all that we have in common and thinking how different this world would be if our voices had been heard the whole time!! Thank you for creating this space.

Trump Presidential propaganda? Really? Can’t we just get a break from all of this?

A podcast for my feminist heart
I listen to this podcast to feel less alone. I’m not the only feminist in town, and I’m not crazy. I love how Chelsea and her guests dissect and discuss these memoirs. Each episode is a history lesson in how women have been oppressed in the past and how they’re still struggling with sexism now, but it’s also about how women can win, survive, fight.

    Love love looooove
I looooove this podcast, and Chelsea’s voice pulled me through the darkest newborn nights. I’m obsessed with the memoir discussions and the real friendships and funny moments with the special guests — went back to listen to all the older episodes during maternity leave. No regrets.
  • BuckeyeGina
    Witty, funny, & delightful
I adore this podcast because Chelsea summarizes memoirs (that I do sometimes read) in an introspective manner. I’m a single mom who just doesn’t have the time to read books anymore. This podcast helps me understand the celebrities and entertainment field better. Most of all, it’s a great escape from heavier topics like politics (that are pretty frustrating for a liberal GenXer female). I’ve recommended it to many of my gal pals.

Love you but don’t agree with you
I love your podcast so much. But I am a republican. I am all for speaking your truth and freedom of speech. I don’t have a problem with that. I guess maybe stop bringing up politics. I listen to your podcast to get away from all the hate. I think you are so funny and adore you. Also why bring up police so much. Doctors make mistakes all the time. Does that mean all doctors are horrible. I love our law enforcement and stand with them. Not all cops are the same.

    My new favorite!
I discovered Glamorous Trash podcast on Instagram and as a person who wishes she devoted time to read, I sooo appreciate Chelsea and her guests for loving to read and for sharing their insights and opinions and personal stories relating to the memoirs they talk about. Thank you, Chelsea & guests! I love this podcast!

    Great Spare Insights
I listened to the audio book one year after it was published so missed all the chatter about Harry’s spilling of the royal tea. Your review offered so much logical insight — the book included cringe and trauma and shocking reveals, racism included. I live in the US, but if I was a British resident I’d probably be an anti-monarchy proponent.

    Love!
🍪🍪🍪 Love the discussions about books and just glam trash stuff Love the guests Love Chelsea 5 stars

This podcast could save your life!
It has saved mine on many occasions. For instance, I didn’t know that listening to this podcast would teach me what books are huge red flags as required reading on job applications (cough… 4 agreements… cough 7 habits of highly effective people, cough, basically, any title with an actual digit in it). More importantly the joy of sharing in female stories and and friendship i didn’t know my life was so sorely lacking. Chelsea is a delight no matter what flavor of episode she decides to drop at anytime!

    Entertaining and Witty
I’m an avid reader but can’t get around to everything I would like to read. This saves me time. Keep up the great work!

Chelsea and co are so insightful in all the right ways, audaciously witty, and beyond entertaining. The voice of support and empathy for the human condition (especially for women) is so appreciated and takes enjoying celeb deep dives to an elevated and more loving level. Shout out to the Paris book recap (my first episode devoured on the patrion)!

    Changing
I have really enjoyed this podcast in the past - eg, Mackenzie Phillips High on Arrival - but listening to this discussion about Liv Ullman’s beautiful book , it was disappointing to hear the lack of preparation gone into the episode. It would have added so much to the discussion if our hosts had some knowledge of the timeframe for example of Ullman’s 1970s. Not knowing what Vanessa Redgrave was doing in those days wouldn’t be something I’d laugh about and ( and this is just me ) being a feminist is something to always be proud of .

    My favorite podcast
Chelsea Devantez is my favorite person that I have never met! Hearing her talk to her friends about celebrity memoirs is always just the right hit of thoughtful, juicy, and feminist. This is my favorite podcast, that I do my best to get everyone to subscribe to. So, hey you, subscribe to this podcast and improve your life!

    Fresh Cookie here
I'm really enjoying the episodes. I can't wait for Chelsea's book! I love how open and vulnerable she is on the podcast. She shows a lot of grace with the "authors" and remains completely hilarious. She's a smart and funny dynamo. I'm still having trouble with the Melissa Etheridge book myself.
  • BrookeLizbeth
    How have I not reviewed!?
This is the best podcast! Best podcast host, be sure you are also following her on Instagram! Preordered the Book!
  • Selah1010
    It’s exhausting
This podcast use to be so good. It sounds like a bunch of whiny SJW discussing their lives while sprinkling in tidbits of the book. They LOVE to relate everything back to the patriarchy. It’s exhausting and this is coming from a 45 year old BW. Just discuss the chapter, give some insight, and move on to the next chapter. They will go on and on about a specific paragraph in a book for 20 minutes. I tried to hang on and be supportive because I love Chelsea, but I’m over this podcast.
  • Waghappy
    Love this pod!
Chelsea is amazing. So smart so funny and so welcoming to her guests. They always find the McGuffin of the book. This show does the work so I don’t have to. Keep it coming Chelsea!!!!

    New obsession
I’ve been binge listening since I found this podcast. So good. Love you Chelsea!

Some good episodes but some yikes takes
I like a lot of the episodes but sometimes the commentary gets derailed by some questionable takes.
  • Ashliushka
    Preorder her book!
Ok, you talked me into it. I’ll preorder your book. You’re amazing!

    The sneak-a-ro
Chelsea is obviously talented and very charismatic. But I am not down with this business model she is using. I have a couple of podcasters I have chosen to subscribe to a few (not Heather McDonald) on Patreon, but that was after hearing their content not under a pay wall for awhile. I’m confused as to why we must subscribe to get the second half of the podcast. Don’t you make money off of the podcast ads? Anywho, right now it’s a no for me. Good luck with all of your aspirations!

I’m a football fan and I love this podcast
I’m a new fan of the pod, but maybe not judge your listeners. I enjoyed this podcast so much that I listened to three episodes in a row. While listening to the Brittany episode, you and your guest made a bizarre comment and insinuated people who watch football don’t listen to your podcast. I thought that was poor taste, and it was really offputting. It’s so weird to insinuate that people who watch football don't read books or don't like Britany Spears.” What is that about? As you can see I gave you 5 stars, because like I said, I really enjoy your show. Anyway, I would love for you to access this comment. All the best, Sherian

Love this podcast! So informative and fun even when approaching sensitive topics. Love love love!!!!
  • HypothetiFan
    Good listen, bad editing
I like this podcast, but what’s up with the editing? The number of times that it skips back and repeats just on the couple of episodes I heard was a little grating.
  • Podcast aficionada
    Smart
I like the episodes about books, but about 1/3 of those episodes are just previews of full episodes. They do not tell you at the top. This feels manipulative. The episodes not about books are not for me. The full book episodes are good.
  • Boyliciuos
    Barbie episode
As a long time Barbie fan and collector, I have to agree with every single point made here. This movie was so Ken heavy, which I get, Ken has been there from the beginning and he should have a place in the movie, but it was way too much. To that point, the sheer amount of ken dolls Mattel has produced for this movie versus the amount of Margot Barbie, other Barbie’s and/or secondary characters is ridiculous and very telling. Anyways, great job, so glad I discovered this podcast. Your Britney episode was soooo good!

Chelsea is my absolute Fave! Enjoyed the Brittany episode 😉

Simply the Best- just like the Tina Turner episode!
I’m a big podcast person- I listen to about 9/week and some of those air 3-5 times/week. I go through phases where I get sick of them all, but I realized today that there is one exception. I started listening like a month after the first episode and quickly got caught up; I have no concept of time but I think this was about three years ago? Anyway, I’ve never once gotten sick of Chelsea. So I figured if there’s ever a reason to write a review, that should be it. Chelsea-thank you so much for making me laugh, cry, and just being a friend in my head for these few years. I really appreciate so much about you, but if I can thank you for just one thing, it’s sparing me from reading Liz Phair’s autobiography. That Trader Joe’s guy story will haunt me for the rest of my life. I was a huge fan at age 13-14, saw her at Lilith Fair etc, but I never got around to reading her book. It was on my list though! I truly can’t thank you enough for saving me from coming across those stories organically. And thanks for being the best. Xo

    Judgmental and harmful
I was so in love with this show until I listened to the Anne Hesch episode. A brief discussion of bi-erasure led to the guest spreading the harmful bi-stereotype that bi people are “privileged” and can live as straight to avoid prejudice, or “take a break” from being queer. It’s a real and HARMFUL stereotype, to which our host responds, “so well said” or some similar positive response. So, I apparently can’t trust this host or show. Really disappointing.
  • drbones5
    The best by far
I’ve been listening all summer. Every episode I think is the best one. It’s great company, funny, profound, and eye-opening. Recommend to everyone! Run, listen to any one of these. You’ll love it.

This is the book club you want to join
Chelsea has a talent for reading between the lines and pulling out the details that make each woman seem real and honest. I love Chelsea’s point of view and her empowering perspective. She is respectful and willing to be vulnerable while having a good time. I look forward to every new episode. Memoirs are among my favorite genre and have read most of the featured books recently or in the past, but I don’t think it is a requirement to enjoy the podcast. Years later this is still one of my favorite weekly podcasts. Each entertaining discussion gives me something to unique to think about.

    Obsessed
I am completely obsessed with this podcast found!! I believe Chelsea to be insightful, thoughtful and her vulnerability she shares is beautiful and heartbreaking. My favorite podcast EVER!!
