WestCoastCarriageHouseShould it have been called Dessert Island Discs?Love the structure mixed with the truly conversational element of the show. Dan is a hoot and he gets the best stories and reactions from the guests. Love this show and am burning my way through every episode.
-

NonpermDan is a toolThis whole show is asteoturfed, you can’t convince me otherwise
-
lil1023one of my favoritesThis podcast thrives on the strength of its host and its formula. Even though each episode follows the same format, Dan manages to make unique and interesting connections with every guest he has on the show. Dan himself is very funny, and he's not afraid to learn something new from his guests. He's knowledgeable but also open-minded.

Clancy BaygoUnfollowed todayWas enjoying this podcast until this week, but no joy in this one. Unfollowed. Sad thing is, you knew better, and put it out there anyway. Should have went with your gut!
-
LDub2021Feed me more!!!I’m obsessed with the new History Bites episodes! Who knew about some of the crazy food origins of the most basic stuff? Dan is hilarious and I’m learning something that will no doubt help me in my nightly Jeopardy viewings. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-
Alegria al MundoI’m in looooveThis is my #1 podcast of all time! I can’t get enough! Love the entertainment, love learning new things pertaining to food, love meeting the stars and looove Dan! I listen to this podcast while working in the hills of Mexico, planting trees and chasing farm animals. Thanks Dan for keeping me entertained!
-
vailpbgramWarIncredibly funny & informative .. the writing is amazing!!
-
ktot03Super entertaining, love these conversationsI’m new to this podcast and absolutely love it. Great host, great guests, love the conversations. Highly recommend to food lovers, cooks, and comedy fans.
-
Holly VerbeckGreat Host!Dan is a fantastic host that draws out answers people want to know from his unique guests. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes they are inspiring, and sometimes you learn something you did not know about the restaurant industry!
-
CecilosCharming and worth a listenWhile this podcast does, admittedly, come across as a bit more pretentious than it probably means to be, it is still a great listen. As a lover of comedy and comedians and food, I find myself entertained by every episode. I think the show loses touch with the common audience (including myself) when certain episodes become almost exclusively about the best, most expensive fine dining experiences that most people can’t afford or even access, but there are not many episodes that are like this. Dan and his guests bring a lot of heart to their conversations and make interesting connections between food, their backgrounds, their cultures, and their careers. Dan is a class act and everyone should try out at least a few episodes of this podcast!
-
bunburytwUnsubscribeIt took me several episodes to figure out why this show left such a bad taste in my mouth when the premise has everything I’m interested in. The fawning fan girling would be fine and maybe even charming in a more likable or relatable host. Instead it comes off as both disingenuous and obsequious. The ongoing and egregiously affected tone that the unwashed masses just can’t possibly understand the sophisticated POV that the host shares with the guest is wildly distasteful. As another reviewer said ‘pretentious AF’. In addition it’s totally humorless which is the worst kind of arrogance when the host obviously thinks otherwise. It takes a special kind of talent to make such an interesting subject and subjects this truly boring and irritating. The conceit is interesting but there’s a Korean show on Netflix that did it first and does it better. The conceit *is* interesting but the host? Too conceited.
-
ProseccoProbsWanted to like......but the host is pretentious AF and gets far too much pleasure from his “restaurant pet peeves.” His tune would change a bit, I’m sure, if he ever had to work a shift as a server.
-
HellokenneyPerfect for Foodies and Comedy LoversThe host is hilarious- you may recognize him from Cobra Kai, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, or his small (but huge) role on Shameless. One of my favorite podcasts!
-
e.greene22AbleistI’ve listened to him on another podcast that I thought I liked. Until I heard him say how great it would be for parents “of severely disabled parents to fix it so their kids don’t pee in a bag.” I can’t even begin to describe how mean, insensitive and ableist this talk is. As a parent of a severely disabled child, who doesn’t “pee in bag” I found it very degrading. My sons life is no less than snot one else. No one needs a self important podcast host of all people to place value on people. Enjoy his privileged and self important podcast at your own peril.
-
kjslyAlways a good listenReally enjoy the guests and it’s always fun to compare what in my own fridge with what’s in theirs. Lots of interesting conversations and I’m hopeful for a new season!
-
SarahmsmilesWorth a listenI love when I can learn and laugh at the same time, and this podcast checks all the boxes!
-
Ariana TobinCame for the Fridge shaming, Stayed for the food recommendationsThis podcast is not only entertaining, but also really informative! Love the food info and restaurant recommendations, but the real entertainment is in the fridge pics! *perhaps don’t listen on an empty stomach*
-
nurse emilyCeleb bubbleIf you want to listen to overpaid undeserving “celebrity” types boast about how amazing their lives are, how well they are eating and at times rag on homeless and mentally ill individuals, this is the show for you. Now sure where the comedy is. Gave it a try bc of spilled milks rec, but no.
-
appatarCan’t top this podcastAfter unsuccessfully trying to listen to other podcasts and getting annoyed immediately I almost gave up. After listening to Dan’s podcast I’m hooked. This podcast calms me down while working and driving and makes me laugh. I love hearing all perspectives from him and his guests on favorite foods, restaurants around the world, and different cultural dishes. I’ve bought books and have watched shows I would have never taken a second glance at because of this podcast. Love it!
-
perryjohn89Fun to listen toI found this through the meat eater podcast and find myself really enjoying listening to his banter with guests. I’m not huge on pop culture and I only know a handful of guests, but I still find myself laughing along. I especially like the la croix debate.
-
ClarkyBallzPhenomenalHilarious and carries a great tempo.
-
Adrian69690Not very interestingTo tell the truth. Even, on the rare occasion that he has a well known or interesting guest, it falls flat. And the fridge thing has already been done and done far better by Taschen’s book.
-
lincolnlogzGreat fun foodie times and talk every episodeGreat guests. Great vibes. Interesting takes on food at home and at restaurants. Great show. Much appreciated
-
omarelpasotxGreat podcastAs an essential worker and keeping our social distancing from the workplace and on the road all day I listened to all your episodes and it’s a great funny, intriguing, educational on food topics and amazing guests.
-
ShelleyD012Keep it coming!!New listener here so playing a little catch up! Loving this podcast-super relatable and entertaining. Getting an awesome food/restaurant/random fun facts education and smiles all the way through. Thanks Green Eggs and Dan!
-
Petra VenkmanOld World (i.e. 2019) FlavorI’ve been listening since the beginning, and as a foodie fail who will never have a seat at any “splendid table,” this pod felt like more like an invitation to sit with the cool nerds in the school cafeteria. I think comedy is the missing link for making food pods more inclusive. :) No one could’ve foreseen social distancing and empty restaurants when this pod launched, and now GE & D is a different kind of escapism: a look into a funny, quirky world that we all want to get back to. Dan and the guests are awesome storytellers. The charisma here can get vegans to listen to a hunting episode, or get you following all the socials of guests you were completely unfamiliar with before. I loved this show before, but I have an even greater appreciation for it now. It’s a little slice of happy, and it makes me long for the messy, delicious life outside my window. :D
-
FarmgerlLike, you know? It’s a “like” fest, like, ya know? Interjecting “like” into every sentence, making it the most commonly used, like, word, makes the speaker sounds !like an idiot, like, you know? Dan is probably a very smart, entertaining guy, but, like, he should, like, listen to himself, like, speak. You know?
-
Pinning4563289086Love itHeard about this on meateater. Would love more hunters! Also could ask what’s in your freezer.
-
suberban hunterStole me from the meat eater. You should get Ryan from the meat eater.
-
AuntieNVWhy am I just now discovering this???I just discovered this show and Im obsessed! I laugh, I cringe, and I want to be right in the middle of each interview! Dan reaffirms every food-obsessed person’s idiosyncrasies and makes you feel like you’re among friends... friends who eat! Plus! He provides you with incredible recipes!
-
maybeyourejustbadatchopsticks?Funny but kind of ignorant tooReally like this podcast overall but the Korean food bashing on Jimmy O. Yang episode was a bummer. Pretty typical American foodie—worships Japanese food, feels cool about liking Chinese food, is ignorant about Korean. Wish I skipped this ep. but will probably keep listening. :(
-
lesliebreannFavorite New Listen! So glad I found this podcast! I've been looking for something involving food, but also with great banter. I've found it!
-
Olympic Silver ChampGreat funWhat can be better. Two of my favorite things. Food and comedy. I love it.
-
a10gurrolaMy favorite food podcast ever!!!!!!!I have been can’t wait for season 2.
-
PJ2012I Wish I Could Give This a Bajillion StarsI already loved Dan's IG stories cooking and am kicking myself for not getting into this earlier. He has great rapport with his guests/friends and it's so fun listening to this aspect of the lives of people whose comedy I work I follow. Also, killer restaurant recommendations! I feel like I want to start a My Maps overlay because there are so many places that I couldn't possibly remember on my own. I hope there's a season 2!
-
sambam891LanguageThis podcast is very unprofessional. The language used by the guests and the host is really rude and very disrespectful. I love food - I’m def a foodie, and I love talking about food etc but I do not appreciate the language used here. Goodbye....
-
Walty KPodcast perfectionGreat host and hilarious guests. Binging on this podcast like I do with pizza... I’ll be through in no time 😬
-
Adam I thinkLamewad HostThis show often has great guests but Dan's such a bad host you can't help but feel like he's completely wasting their time. He does none of the comedic heavy lifting and his questions are so stupid and redundant his guests can't help but point out how bad they are. If you enjoy a pretentious middling comic with delusions of eloquence then check this pod out. If you enjoy quality podcasts stay away. PS Dan is so lame he likes his own tweets.
-
4LetterHillBinge worthy!I binged the first season way too quickly and now cannot wait for season 2!! Such a great podcast. I’ve been recommending it to family, friends, and even strangers. Great show! Keep it up!!
-
Viv29WonderfulFunny AND informative!
-
foodawesomefoodBest pod ever!Oh my God Oh my God. I can’t believe this podcast exists. Food and comedy are my faves. Keep it up Dan!!
-
ScolbPretentiousI’ll admit, I made it through about 1/2 an episode. So unless things change later on. This is simply a bunch of pretentious people making fun of real food and telling you to live on celery and almond milk
-
OxfordMomma79Inside BouillabaseballAt the risk of sounding incredibly cheesy, this was a 12-week eye-opener. At the heart of this show is self-reflection, and where better to start than the place that can be more embarrassing than your underwear drawer? My fridge was pretty much where things go to decompose, and I never realized it. So much of modern culture has been a movement towards being unapologetic in our nerdiness and giddiness for the things we love, and Green Eggs is a prime example of that. That passion is contagious! And even someone like me, who can’t cook and has unidentifiable drippings under the crisper drawers, opened their heart to think about food just a little differently. Laughing about food is therapeutic! Dan has a rapport with his guests like they always pick up right where they left off, no matter how busy life gets. Even if you feel out of the foodie loop on certain things, this show is for anyone. Your tastes may be exactly the same after listening, but your outlook will change...maybe you’ll even clean your fridge. :)
-
Sammy465676Everybody Loves Dan-mondWhen people ask me if I love this podcast I always respond “I absolutely Ah-DOO-t!” Whoever asks always ends up laughing uncontrollably. The laughter is so intense it seems like they’re putting me on, but inevitably it’s always authentic, fall-on-the-ground laughter and nine times out of ten I have to call 9-1-1 so an ambulance can come take them away.
-
anabell🥳Listen to thisThis is such an amazing podcast I love listening to it and it will make your day and I love how it talks about food and cooking and they put little jokes in there wich I really like 🙃
-
RaymondEatsKeep it going!Awesome show and Dan is hilarious as always.
-
Jeff_8119BECHIEVE IT!This show is great, Dan is very funny and has some great guests. I'm a big fan of Bajillion Dollar Properties and had to check it out, and I'm glad I did. I'm not a foodie at all, I'm actually a very picky eater but it doesn't matter because Dan's passion for food shines through and is very entertaining. 5 STARS
-
barbiecat76It could be betterThere is a lot to like which is why I've listened to every episode so far. But too much of it is dropping names I've never heard of in ways that imply that everyone should know what they are talking about. Additionally, the profanity is everywhere and sounds a lot like kids at the far end of the playground cussing because the teacher can't hear them, not because the profanity adds meaning to what they say.
