    Great way to learn
Been a regular listener to every episode for the past two years and AMA #4 was my absolute favorite. I am getting close to retiring and love the discussion on factor, investing and sequence of return returns risk. Thanks for your expertise and entertaining discussions.

    Fantastic. I mean it.
I cannot recommend this podcast enough to anyone interested in seeing “how the sausage is made” in practical terms. Having listened to every episode at least twice over the last few years, it’s given me the confidence to save/invest for retirement and get my financial house on order and keep it that way. Probably most impactful thing from these episodes was the understanding and confidence of how employer matching/fund selection can impact employee retirement. Based on the education provided within, I approached my company HR about our 401k funds to have access to better options. In an interesting turn of events I’m now on the 401k committee; and we’ve recently gotten lower cost index and target date funds approved for everyone in the company. You have literally impacted thousands of people in a positive manner, and I can’t thank you enough for the work that you do. -Mike, Ohio/USA

    Fantastic
This is a must-listen podcast for financial education. It goes into much more depth than most personal finance shows. With engaging guests who are experts, the information discussed here is an encyclopedia of knowledge.

    Life changing
Thank you for a life changing podcast. It’s difficult to add anything new to the glowing reviews. After listening to 3 or 4 of your episodes in the summer 2023, I paused all other content, started from the beginning and last month have come out the other side (including reliving COVID quarantine through your show).  I fired my financial advisor who did the standard “I pick the best stocks” and went with an (U.S.) advisor who is much for aligned (and references) you. I agree that your podcast and overall financial literacy makes for a better client. My advisor and I spend less than 10% of our time together speaking about the market. We focus on specific actions to increase happiness/satisfaction and reduce risk so that my family and I can live our best lives.  I appreciate the Canadian content. It’s nice to hear how other countries deal with universal problems, such as mortgages, education, and old age income. Cheers, Russ in the USA

    Randy and Michael's debate Awesome
Michael might be the only individual on earth that see it all . Which scares me more then anything because Einstein was pretty much the only individual on earth that saw the light . There has to be math involved in this equation it's large numbers , but absolutely a fascinating discussion, Thank You , Andrew

    Lately…
…not as great, not as captivating. Maybe it’s because there haven’t been any Benjamin and Cameron (only) podcasts lately. If it ain’t broke… —————————————————— Prior 5-star review below: This podcast is so well done. Crisp. Concise. And interesting! They set the bar so high & it has actually led me to stop listening to some of my previous favorite podcasts (which simply aren’t done this well). Keep it up!

    Great keep it up
Found on YouTube first with just Ben but really love the show. Have learned a lot and new perspectives gained from listening to the show. Liked the recent episode responding to comments.

I’m here for the after show
I first came across Ben on YouTube talking about small cap value and came to enjoy his mix of academic and pragmatic approach to investing. This podcast grew to include so much more: goal setting, the role of financial advisors, the intersection of happiness and wealth. I find myself recommending this podcast weekly. If you ever opened an office across the boarder I’d be your first customer. -Aleck (mid DIY investor)

    RR is a National Treasure
You guys bring me peace. You bring a meditative quality to rational discussion around academic thought process. And getting funnier too- I literally laughed out loud, for a long time, when Ben read aloud that he’s a hot, national treasure. Perfect. PS not jumping ship from factors over the Andrew Chen interview- he might be helping to preserve the premiums by scaring some folks away. J/K Big Thank You for all you guys do! -Brian from Sacramento, CA

Ben Felix is a global treasure
This is the only podcast that gives honest real analyzed financial information with a gentle dazzle of subtle dad humor. It truly is gold. Ben Felix is at the top of my and my husbands top hottest celebrity list. No one else has the courage to be this detailed and this boring.

    Exceptional Evidence Based Show
The rational reminder is an exception evidence based show in field filled with self interest and strong opinions that lack the necessary depth of understanding. I am American so not sure everything directly applies to my situation but the logic and reasoning behind the decision making is often useful regardless. For example tax diversification is a concept that absolutely applies with 401(k) and Social Security or TSFA and Canadian pension plans.

    Brilliant
This is a great and thought provoking podcast in topics critical to living a productive, stable and happy life. Ben and Cameron are phenomenal hosts who asking great questions. Ben’s intelligence is shocking. He explained topics in such a clear and concise way that one often wonders why he doesn’t have a phd in economics and finance? He’d be a phenomenal professor/educator. I appreciate all the varied guests. Most importantly it is great that guests are invited that discuss their topics and we as listeners can then decide whether or not we agree with said information. All in all this is a great podcast and if there was a Nobel for podcast this would get it. Cheers to all the great work that you guys and your support staff do! One follow up: I’d recommend having karsten jeske from early retirement now blog to counter Scott cederburg.

That was one of the most interesting guest lineups you’ve had. I watched it on YouTube, shared with a couple of friends. Did rewinds because some topics were so important. I’m a Florida listener.

    Fall from grace
it was disgraceful of this podcast to do a headpiece on one person without involving the other side. I’ve been a fan of this podcast, but the episode on Ray Dalio As significantly dented the reputation, at least in my eyes.

    Best Finance Podcast Available
This podcast is a master class in how to think about investing. But beyond that, it’s a master class in how to apply the scientific method, how to learn from those who don’t share your views and how to clearly present technical information. Ben and Cameron are open-minded, polite, empathetic, willing to learn from those who don’t share their views and open to changing their views in the face of new evidence. It’s an oasis of civility in today’s polarized, hot-take, social media culture.

Best personal finance podcast out there
Hi Ben and Cameron, I’ve been a loyal listener since day one and have really admired the show’s evolution over that time. The rigour and academic basis is crucial but have appreciated your open minded approach to disparate sources and evolution of low cost index or bust approach. As a DIY investor, recognizing Ben’s work on dividends, I still value dividends for their ability to grow a small position over time through a DRIP, would welcome your views on DRIPs for investors starting with small initial investments and holding for the long term.

    My favorite podcast!
I started listening to Rational Reminder around 2 years ago and recently made my way through all the episodes to date. I’ve learned so much on topics ranging from personal finance and investing to finding and funding a good life. The Ben and Cameron only episodes are always interesting and insightful, but when they do bring on their A-list guests, I especially appreciate the interviewing style they employ. They ask pointed, good questions and then allow their guests to answer with little to no interruptions. Rational Reminder also inspired me to become a more avid reader through its reading challenges along with their book summaries/recaps on the show. I look forward to the new episode each week. Keep up the good work!
  • ado09
By far the best personal finance podcast!
Ben and Cameron do an incredible job presenting research-based insights and frameworks in an approachable way. I’ve learned so much from listening to them over the last year and really love how they spotlight short summaries of past episodes to help listeners dig into their back catalogue. The guests are terrific and the discussion with listeners on their website is engaging and educational. I look forward to the next episode every week.
  • BabboCHO
    Amazing podcast!
As a Wall Street veteran and professor of finance, I find the episodes that explore recent scholarship to be interesting without being overly technical. In fact, it inspired me to launch my own podcast on what any educated person should know about markets to be a good citizen: Not Another Investment Podcast. Love your work, guys...keep it up!

    Financial Guidance At It’s Best
Ben and Cameron do a remarkable job facilitating financial planning and investment theory discussions from beginner to advanced levels. I have listened to every episode and can honestly say their advice has completely changed the way I view so many financial theories and investment strategies. The snippets and main takeaways I have been able to share with my family from parents entering retirement to siblings setting up their 1st 401k/Roth IRAs have made a tremendous positive impact on their future financial stability. Thank you for working tirelessly to gather such diverse perspectives and topics from which everyone can learn.

    Fascinating & insightful!
I discovered Ben through his YouTube channel and quickly rushed to listen once I heard there was a podcast. I have not been disappointed! I work in wealth management in NYC, where many professionals are unfortunately solely focused on investment returns and miss out on other valuable components of advice that Ben and Cameron address almost every episode. I just finished E267 on the expected cost of pessimism and the value of storytelling. I will be sharing with all of my colleagues! This podcast is true financial education, thank you!

    Excellent information and discussions
Great resource for a wide variety of topics from financial planning to living a happy life to nerdy discussions on investments. I really appreciate Ben and Cameron’s scientific and humble approach to new information and subjects. Their curiosity and willingness to suspend preconceived notions instead of just lecturing the audience is a breath of fresh air in the podcast space

    Fantastic Podcast
The hosts deliver a wide range of practical, high-quality interviews and summaries. I'm consistently amazed by the caliber of their guests. I listen to a lot of podcasts (a couple of hours a day), and this is the only one where I immediately move every single episode to the top of my playlist. I can't recommend this podcast enough.

    Data driven financial podcast
Benjamin and Cameron clearly want to understand the topics thoroughly and get in the weeds to help listeners to understand what the data says about financial markets. Filled with great information.

Excellent podcast; make the t shirt!
Fantastic summary and discussion of research without dumbing things down—much easier than reading the papers myself. But mainly I am writing this review to encourage you to make the premium t-shirt!!!

    Great Investing Podcast
Highly recommended! Great guests being asked excellent questions, well researched deep dives on relevant investing questions, and in-depth book reviews, all backed by hosts who don't speak down to their audience. The number of times Ben and Cameron or one of their guests have raised and expanded upon a question I wasn't fully aware that I have is astounding. For example, the popular definitions of risk based on volatility never felt entirely satisfying. Listening to the Rational Reminder has improved my understanding of how to better define and quantify risk in a way no other source has. After following the podcast for a year and listening to many episodes on a wide range of topics, I have never once had the desire to skip one.

Absolutely fantastic pod! They have a great deal of respect for their listeners which I absolutely appreciate. This is by far the best personal finance pod I have ever listened to

    My favorite personal finance podcast!
Ben and Cameron have the perfect combination of investing nuts and bolts, together with great social science findings. Kind of like if the Bogleheads on Investing and Hidden Brain podcasts had a baby. Super appreciate that they dig into the academic literature for us. Also enjoying the advanced basics episodes.

Was referred to the podcast by my stepson, and this has quickly become my number one listen. My introductory episode was the controversial (!) Episode 229, and I was hooked. I literally recommend this podcast to everyone I meet, if they are interested in personal finance and investing. There's content for all levels of knowledge. Thanks for spreading the word!

    A weekly must listen
Rational Reminder is the only podcast I’ve religiously listened to over the last 4 years. The topics they discuss are timely, well researched, and evidenced based. Ben and Cameron’s interview questions are well crafted. They give guests space to answer without using interviews as a way to brag about themselves as so many other podcast hosts do. This should be required listening for anyone looking to increase their financial literacy.

    My Favorite Podcast
While I am not a financial professional, I have learned and continue to learn so much from this wonderful podcast and have been inspired to learn additional content thanks to them. Ben and Cameron offer so much valuable information and insight on financial topics and living a good life, and I have greatly enjoyed the academic integrity and attention to detail they deliver each week. I can honestly say that I read more books now, and I find myself habitually applying what I’ve learned. I feel like I am a student in a graduate level class each time I start a new episode, which is a delightful feeling!

    Fantastic podcast!!!
I cannot get enough of the thoughtful content in this podcast. After being a Booglehead type investor for 20 years they have broadened my horizons. I have listened to probably hundreds of hours of their podcasts and find them to be wonderfully evidence-based. As a physician I find this very refreshing. I have shared their podcasts with many of my friends and colleagues. thank you, gentlemen, for all that you do!

    Behavioral finance at its finest
I listen to this show almost every week. The best part (I think) is the blend of behavioral finance, academic papers, and chit chat. Anyone can create excel sheets and run numbers, but the secret to financial success is not letting our emotions or biases trip up a good financial plan. Beyond finances, the hosts talk about everyday life and creating a happy life. Excellent podcast.

    Excellent
Updated Review on 1/12/23 You two (and your team) produce such a thoughtful and interesting podcast. Pace is perfect, guests and questions are perfect (Prof Merton was incredible), your insights are immensely valuable. Always worth sticking around for the ending bits. Thank you for all your work and diligence. First Review: I am fairly new to your podcast and am really enjoying it. I work as a tax lawyer and have an accounting/finance background (but not investing) and your deep insights really make me think and have spurred me to do more finance and investment reading. Thank you Paul Roberts San Francisco, CA

A must listen for critical thinkers
I’ve listened to more than a hundred episodes, and I’m only now leaving a review after taking over my kid’s old iPhone to do it. (I normally listen on Android.) Every episode has worthwhile insights on personal finance, portfolio construction, how to lead a happy life, and countless other topics. I love that Cameron and Ben comfortably explore the work of diverse guests in the pursuit of living well and always improving their understanding of the world.

I love this podcast. I’m a need but half the time (okay more) I’m so confused what they’re talking about- but the cadence is so simple, so calm, so geeky. It’s the perfect tone to relax to and after hours of listening you will start to learn! I’m starting to really enjoy the financial content now as well so really happy to leave a review.

Both of these guys are just amazing. The amount of detail they pack into an episode is truly great. It is a great learning experience listening to this podcast. And the great interviews they do with their guests and the detailed questions they ask is awesome.
  • calebmpeters
    Smart, informed discussions
Smart, informed discussions on topics in financial economics and personal finance. The hosts line up experts for the show's guests and ask thoughtful questions during interviews. I appreciate the insights from the book reviews and that Cameron contextualizes them with themes from previous books.
  • Anonymous47853
    Good investment information
The investment episodes are really great. I have really enjoyed the crypto series. The episodes on gender inequality were good at first, but it has started to drift away from how it effects investing and become more about how it effects society overall, which is a political issue, not an investing issue.
  • Pete-Zha
Very smart hosts with insightful guests
Ben and Cam are both very smart people who do a great job explaining financial concepts for even those who do not have a traditional financial background such as myself. Every guest they have on the show as some really interesting and thoughtful takes.

    The best finance podcast
Rational Reminder (RR) is the best finance podcast (and in the running with Econ Talk for best podcast period). The hosts are curious and thoughtful, and they have a nice mix of host discussions and guest interviews. The guests are often *the* top finance academics, but the hosts ask the right questions to educate a broad audience. RR is one of my must listens every week. Thank you, RR!
  • Tosin_V_A
One of the best finance podcasts I follow
There are many things I have enjoyed on this podcast. They’ve Interviewed folks of all sorts of backgrounds, many of whom are at the forefront of finance academia and research (such as Prof. Fama or folks at Dimensional). The conversations are often, if not always, based on concrete research, especially financial research. Some highlights from me have been: 1. Interview with Prof Eugene Fama, co-creator of the Fama-French three factor model and contributor to the efficient market hypothesis. 2. An interview with the author of Time Smart, Prof Ashley Whillans. This interview and excerpts of the book really challenged how I think of time and money. 3. Ben’s amazing paper on Finding and Funding a good Life. It’s a paper that summarizes key research findings related to happiness, regret, hedonic adaptation, sports cars, renting versus buying. I also love their open mindedness, humility and willingness to learn. Ben and Cameron aren’t afraid to admit they don’t know something or that they just learned something. Thanks for being bold about your crypto series. I am skeptical of different aspects of crypto but I think it’s important to understand view points in the space, if only to properly give good advice to those who may be caught up. As much as I am skeptical of crypto there are applications such as the African finance company SendCash which helps people send money to African countries. Thought I’d give this review to encourage you and everyone working behind the scenes on the podcast. Please keep up the good work and I should really get something from the store lol! - Tosin (Oluwatosin) V. Adewale

    The Best!
The best personal finance & investing podcast out there. Most podcasts only superficially cover topics & are largely opinion based. This is the only one I’ve found that really dives into the details and evidence base.

    Consistently high quality investing content
The rational reminder podcast is my go to for understanding the market. I have learned so much about economics, human behavior, stocks, and bonds.

Great content, don't listen to the haters
Long time listener, never bothered to review because... Well content speaks for itself. However, listening to the latest episode and hearing the few negative reviews being read out and thought I should jump in. These guys regularly put out great content, touching on relevant and key topics of today. They speak to key guests well versed in their respective fields and help us common folks understand and apply learnings to our everyday lives. Keep up the great work, don't let the voice of the loud minority bring you down.
