Do Sonic The Hedgehog 3

If you enjoy soundtracks from video games past (and more recent), and ever wondered how deep one could go breaking down those soundtracks, song by song, with all the care of what’s happening in the game and a professional ear for the melodies, syncopation, everything poured into the chip tunes setting the tone and feeling within these games... THIS is your podcast. This is the music appreciation class I wish were on offer, such a quick an enjoyable hour.

What really sets this show apart from the other great VGM casts out there is Kris's pure, unadulturated love for these games and tunes, which just bubbles out of him in every episode. The interplay between the hosts is great, but Kris is one of the few people out there who I think could carry a show purely on his own enthusiasm. Great taste in VGM, as well. You're sure to hear some old favorites and make some new ones.

Kris is a great host who is passionate about VGM and dedicated to his craft. If you like VGM and Podcasts, just give this a listen already (especially the Waveback Awards)

Just found your podcast through Facebook! Listened to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 episode, and was really impressed! As someone who collects and listens to video game soundtracks, it was nice to find a podcast for this audience! If by chance you do Earthbound, I’ll definitely be listening to it!

Kris Randazzo and his co-hosts tackle iconic soundtracks, many times its retro music (my personal favorite episodes) but they also do more modern game selections. I never paid attention to music (Super Mario World and Age Of Empires excluded) to the music in the games I played. But they take me back to some of my favorite games of all time and walk through the notes, sounds and composers in a way I’ve never heard before I. Kris obviously has a musical background and his input never feels like he’s “coming up with something to say”. This music all means something to him and I appreciate the effort he puts into this and the passion he has for music, specifically in the realm of video games. Koji Kondo!

This is a fun show to listen to. I love video game music, and the show's hosts pick some great soundtracks to spotlight.
