    FIRE Movement Discussion.
Just heard a part of the show on 24/5/2024 in which they discuss the FIRE movement. Simon missed the point completely about FIRE. You do NOT have to save 70% of your earnings to reach Financial Independence. You just have to spend less than you earn and invest the rest. Once you reach FI, you do NOT have to retire. Attaining Financial Independence allows you to have more options in your life. There are several types of fire, including LEAN FI, BARISTA FI, COAST FI and FAT FI (which you can google for explanations.) Please research the subject more comprehensively, before pontificating about it.
