smlhwksPeople have fragile egosThe Nock On podcast is great. John Dudley gives expert level advice, for the experienced or novice shooter alike. Dudley speaks with experience, and that seems to be the framework of his podcasts. He has a wide range of guests, with all different viewpoints. Dudley is great at finding common ground, even in argument, and takes a very middle-of-the-road approach to archery. Dudley is the people’s professional archer, and talks frequently about his main audience (average archer). There are a lot of reviews on here of people who are butt-hurt about Dudley dismantling their extreme takes on arrow weight, FOC, and all of the other latest fads. He does not disrespect different viewpoints, does not make fun of grass-roots archers or humble beginnings, and articulates archery concepts quite well. He’s an excellent teacher, and shows you the stuff you actually need to focus on: Groups down range. People are so soft, my goodness. He speaks to uplift the sport and the industry as a whole, ego aside.

49IHCSome good info if you sort through the arroganceIf you want to know how good John is , just ask him he’ll tell you many many times. Nock on is not the everyday archer, it’s another best of everything because of sponsorship. There is good information here but there’s also a lot of other places to find the same info. Very disappointed in how he handled the Troy interview.
-
thibodauxtigerArroganceUnwilling to listen to other opinions or learn from other’s experiences. I’m sure he’s great at what he does but the arrogance he’s shown when confronted with different opinions is astounding. He interviews people without even doing a modicum of research on the topic and dismissed topics out of hand. I’d go elsewhere for bow hunting advice.

MonkMastersNock on = rock on!!Love this podcast. John Dudley gives great advice, has authentic guests and most of all encourages to just shoot! Thanks John Dudley appreciate all your efforts!!

TheCleaner73Elite level operatorsI’ve listened to a few of these so far in their entirety. At first I was feeling like no way can I listen to such a long cast, however, I soon realized that Dudley has a subtle and tactful way of easing out great insight from his guests and in turn himself. This character reveal, I see, is at the core of elite bow shooting and hunting and consistently high functioning people / his guests. Thank you John Dudley.

njfikkertLes Welch EpisodeLiked the podcast until Les Welch episode and he insulted people by saying killing an elk is “easy”. When asked to give advice don’t insult people. For some of us it’s not easy, so when we think someone might give us some real advice, but instead insult us, it’s not great.

airwolfe1This will make you a better archer period! This podcast along with the NockOnTV “School of Nock” WILL make you a better shooter. He has the gift to teach and clearly articulate the small nuances of body position, mechanics and mentality that will make you a much better archer. John Dudley has made learning how to shoot a compound bow accessible to everyone! I had never had a lesson and it was just trial & error till “School of Nock” Season 1. I followed the twelve week course and at the end I was doing pretty well. I decided to find an archery instructor to see if what I was doing was right and to validate what I had learned from the videos. I was pleasantly surprised when the instructor said, “Your form looks really good. You have never had any instruction?” So aside from some minor tweaks, it was good to know that what John Dudley teaches it truly legit. Yes, I’m a “Nock-On Fan Boy” but when JD is sincere about helping to teach archery and I can trust the products he promotes is what he uses and is legit, why wouldn’t I be a fan? He has saved me a huge learning curve. Although his podcasts now aren’t focused as much on answering questions like hedid in the past, those are still available and I go back to them often. The episodes in the 20’s & 30’s are great for new shooters.

ER workmanExcellent Balance of Entertainment and TeachingJohn has a great variety of guests and podcasts. He teaches and brings on experts while laughing and telling stories with his friends. Always a pleasurable listen! Can’t recommend it enough!
-
6789843$:;?Loves to hear himself talkJohn Dudley is a very accomplished archer who has a poor command of the English language. If you enjoy listening to a self-important blowhard stumble through a podcast in his native language, this one’s for you. Follow Dudley on Instagram if you want to see him shooting dogs with his bow like the spineless P.O.S. he is.

dkphotolifterNew to the gameI start slinging pointy sticks with another flexible pointy stick about 2 years ago. I started archery as a hobby in the process to find some sort of zen, or balance, of sorts in my life. Working in the fire service comes with traumatic experiences at times that have to be addressed in a healthy way. Archery allowed me, in part, to unpack some of the experiences I had in order to avoid going down the unhealthy path towards PTSD. It has made a massive difference in my life in a positive way. The second positive impact it had was it made me realize I love being outside far more than inside. This was reinforced when I went out turkey hunting for the first time this spring season, and was able to take some time appreciate being out in the woods and detached from the rest of the world. It was a truly serene experience. John has a wide variety of guests on his podcast from all walks of life. Some are icons of the archery and hunting world. Other from a variety of backgrounds like retired military folks looking for their next mission after life in the service, to comedians like Joe Rogan who have also helped increase the popularity of archery. Of people who are true practitioners of their craft and passionate about spreading their knowledge to other people, John Dudley is the most charitable with his time and knowledge. And he gives it away for FREE both on his podcast and his you tube channel. In turn, I have purchased items from his online store in return for sharing his knowledge. John if you happen to read this, thank you very much for everything you have taught me.

Jobseeker21Great ProgramI was just listening to one of the older episodes (180, What the FOC) and I about died over “Dude, are you taking a whizz??”, which was exactly what I was wondering as well... Felt like I was there in the room.

Jonny BowmasterDudley knows bestI've been listening to this podcast for about 3 years and it has helped me improve as an archer, chef, hunter and make me an all around better person. Dud knows what he's talking about, he's got trophies to prove it. But, what's so awesome about the guy is that he doesn't point to his trophies, he points to the thousands of people that's he's helped beat target panic, execute a good shot, have good technique and so on. He's has great guests and friends on the show, gives great advice, and actually cares about the people that support him. Heck even if you don't follow him or follow anything he does he always responds to DM's and comments! I could go on for days but this is an A1 podcast. Thanks Dud for all you do for the sport of archery! Nock on!! - Jon Mays

nocamboy1743Awesome pod castVery informative and cool listen too
-
bkolowski111Older episodes were betterThe first 150ish episodes were amazing. Tons of detail on archery set up and technique. Now most of the episodes are 4 guys sitting around laughing and drinking. There are still a few nuggets in those episodes, but it’s just different. Also I hope you like Andy Stumpf because he’s on every freaking episode since the podcast format changed up.
-
Brock ThurgoodStop. Talking.Dud is a stud...NO doubt. But man, he needs to stop talking so much and let his guests talk... If you’ve got Navy SEALS on your podcast...shut up and listen! If you’ve got Joe Rogan on your podcast...shut up and listen! He talks 3:1 compared to the people he’s interviewing, and that’s being generous. It seems like he’s always trying to tell his guests how much he knows vs letting them talk and say what they want to say. I get it...it’s probably excitement because I can tell he genuinely cares about others’ success, but please spend more time listening.

SinkFazeGenerously Rich & Priceless Archery EducationFirst I want to say thank you to John for putting out all your knowledge out on video and podcasts for free. I have a new passion that I’m obsessed about and have gone from zero experience to a relatively decent rookie archer (with a Silverback) in 6 months, because of your videos and podcasts. The level of detail has allowed me to systematically train, as if you were at the range with me. I’m extremely grateful. This knowledge and coaching could cost us a mini fortune. But you do it all graciously and generously for free. I literally refresh the apps daily to see if there’s a new episode. The podcasts are invaluable for its educational purpose and most of the time very entertaining too. The new Icon series is cool too. Great job! Hi m looking forward to all the new episodes.
-
@blainewhite24Not really about archery set up and tuning anymoreI love the older podcasts. It was all about archery set ups and equipment. Now it seems to be a lot about Sitka and people John has helped or people who helped him. I’ll still listen cause he’s the best and most knowledgeable guy out there. Would just like more bow and arrow talk is all.
-
VudrGreat for All-Around TipsI’ve been listening to this podcast for the last few weeks, and it is phenomenal. Great advice for all aspects of archery, and the guests are fantastic. My only issue is that the large file size makes the episodes difficult to download if I’m not on a WiFi connection. That aside, this is definitely THE podcast for archers and hunters. You’ll leave each episode inspired to pick up your bow.
-
mountain climbing 303You da manJohn’s way of sharing archery info helps tune my bow better than my shop ever has.

Timaye1994Best archery info out thereSimply the best resources for all things archery/bow hunting

42CJC11Jack of all trades master of allThis Guy is the definition of Jack of all trades from it all the the bow to the Traeger to Life in general. The insight that he has to his art come off very humbling. David Wagner said on the TNQ podcast that the greatest compliment to one in there Field of expertise is that they make it look so easy that any John Doe could do it. This man right here is that good and if you listen to home and watch his video you will learn that you are able to do it.
-
SirChoochArchery GeniusThis is the most technical archery podcast you will find with Dud the master constantly teaching and sharing. The school of nock series will seriously improve your shooting.
-
Ice VaderThe Dud!!Has some good information especially about the technical side of Archery!!! Do yourself a favor though and listen at a minimum of 1.5x the speed. You’ll thank me later! Chase

Bay122Best Archery PodcastDudley is highly qualified and a trustworthy teacher on the subject of archery and bowhunting! There are many people out there with opinions but only a few with educated opinions. Dudley is the one to listen to. I’ve used his advice and it works!
-
Aaaaasa6969BestPodcast is awesome! One of the best sources for archery information with great stories and mind set drivers.
-
James_C.Stop Saying LiterallyI love this podcast. It has great info. Dudley has a great voice for radio and very welcoming personality. You can tell the man absolutely lives archery and bow hunting. He also makes high quality products and in depth technique walkthroughs, which I really appreciate. But for the love of god, man, STOP SAYING LITERALLY IN EVERY OTHER SENTENCE! It’s so distracting. I just listened to the broadhead episode and he must have said it 100 times and I’m not trying to exaggerate. It’s not just that, but it’s the classic misuse of the word where he literally says something figurative when he uses it. I find it really funny because on one of the first episodes I listened to he was making fun of Mel Gibson for clicking his pen and breathing heavily during the Rogan Podcast. I had to knock a star because I needed to turn off the broadhead podcast because it was making me lose concentration at work. Again, love the podcast. Love the host, but this habit annoys the ever loving hell out of me, and I’m sure many others. Overall though, it’s a home run.

J0311WLiterally could be 5 starsI’m brand new to the compound world and have been soaking up everything I can get my hands and ears on and John Dudley has opened a whole new world for me and my archery. I would totally give it 5 stars if he didn’t make casual comments about traditional shooters being inaccurate. There are some stone cold killers shooting traditional equipment and shooting recurves and longbows (in my opinion) for so long has helped me with the fundamentals of shooting a compound on an accelerated path. Also, if there was a drinking game based on John Dudley saying “LITERALLY” every 20 seconds, you might die from alcohol poisoning. Love the podcast.....literally
-
ND String PullerClass Act!John Dudley is a class act, and we are very fortunate to have him as an ambassador to our sport! Keep up the great work I know it's not easy!! Thanks John !!! NOCK ON >>>----->
