    The best!
My absolute favorite DnD show! Blaine's commercials are the absolute best!
  • The Man, The Mytch, The Legend
    I almost forgot about Jerry
D&D at its funniest, even when a certain titular character forgets how to play. He’s only been playing it for longer than I’ve been alive… <3 Brian

Better In Person, Needs Better Editing
The new season at the beginning of 2024 has finally restored and saved this podcast. The ZOOM era was unlistenable for me. I love the creative and oddball story telling and fantastical characters and personalities. My only gripe now is that some of the DM “downtime” (tracking initiative or looking up information, etc.) should be edited out and maximize the amount of the hour of actual action and story telling.

    My daughter’s fault!!
If it wasn’t for my daughter, I would have never found your podcast!! When she was living with me, she would listen while getting ready in the bathroom which was across from my home office. So I would get to listen while I was working! It brings me back to my childhood & playing D&D when I was growing up! I love listening and you guys crack me up!! I’m glad you are back with a new season. I’ve gone back to the beginning and have started listening to the episodes back in 2017. I look forward to hearing the new season!

    Listener for Life
Great group of friends playing D&D and cracking jokes! Sprinkle in some character chaos and creativity adventuring has made me a listener for life. Glad to have the group back together under the same roof again.

    Great podcast
I’ve been listening to this podcast for years now. It’s the closest I’ve been able to find to the old memories I have of my friends and I playing D^2. They’re all fun geeks who do a great job with the roll playing aspect of the game, and I think Dan does a great job of DM’ing. I want to preface this comment by saying that I’m not saying Brian cheats, but I’ve played a whole lot of DND; the dice have been kind and they’ve also killed a friend or two. If someone were to take all the rolls he’s made over the years, I’d be willing to bet the positive rolls outweigh the negative, and maybe to the point of impossibility. Maybe I’m just jealous for his ability to roll well, I don’t know. Sarah and I have similar “rolling luck”. Anyway, this is a great show, and I love all these nerds!

    Best D&D podcast
This is the best D&D live play podcast I’ve heard and to my knowledge it’s been around longer than the others too. It’s got a great, hilarious cast and the DM is great at telling a story. I’ve had tons of laughs listening to this and has encouraged me to finally learn to play the game myself.

    Love the show!
Started listening with season 4 and can’t stop!

It’s Blaine to See that this podcast is awesome
Saw jackass rate it 0 for being “woke” (which has had no real definition since 2018 tbh) to do my duty to neutralize it. Also I guarantee at least one gutbust laugh from Blaine on a weekly basis or your money back!

Been listening back in ear wolf day
Sad to see woke Propaganda getting into something that I used to love.

    Invisible vampire
Hey, love the show. I’ve been listening since season 1 and still look forward to it each week. One question though is if the vampire is invisible then how is he able to cast spells without becoming visible?

    I enjoy the adventures
I have only just found this podcast, I am enjoying season four. Maybe I’ll go back and listen from the beginning when I catch up and the silence at work drives me too crazy. Good stuff. Also with Brian’s name on the thing, he doesn’t seem to add much to the adventure. One minor nitpick, every so often some political comment might bleed through and I just don’t care to hear it. I don’t lean either way with the Right or Left nonsense. Still, a high 4 out of 5 podcast.

I enjoy the podcast, can’t wait for them to come out! Keep them up. So funny and entertaining!

    D&D with tons of heart
I have been listening since the earwolf days and I always make sure I’m a top tier donor on Patreon. Brian and his friends are the best and this podcast is a highlight of my week. Such great storytelling and cast of characters. Get some!

    Love it, but...
I’m a D&D player (2nd edition) and so really enjoy listening to another game. But, I’m only on the second episode so maybe it’ll go away, the guy noodling on the Casio keyboard is driving me nuts! He had a funny bit with it, but it’s pulling me away from the narrative! If I was there, I could ignore it, but here- have some consideration for your listeners. If I wasn’t needing a hack and slash fix I’d quit, but I’m really desperate!

    Comedians playing D&D
That pretty much says it all. Don’t be too uptight about rules and you’ll really enjoy the story and characters. The DM has some of the most unique and interesting worlds and NPCs that I have ever seen. And I have been running games for over 30 years. They have a really good chemistry as players and characters. I highly recommend!

Makes me wish I knew how to play DnD
I don’t generally write reviews, but staring at the most recent review with 2 stars is annoying me. This pod is so funny and I’ve really loved listening to these goofy friends and their adventures. I started listening when the Stay at Home order started in Chicago and I’ve already caught up with season 3 and I’m about to finish season 1. I only wish that I had friends who play DnD who could teach me how. But because of this pod, I now know the basics and it seems that even playing for 20 years doesn’t mean you always know what’s happening when you’re raging :)
  • Spongeboobly squaredoodly
    Solid two stars
Been listening to the glass cannon for years and gave this a try. Really no comparison between the two. The production, sound, story, characters and DM’ing do not compare at any level to The Glass Cannon. Nobody on Nerd poker acts as their character it’s just them for 9/10 times, they murder hobo everything, really not that funny and the story drags. It takes them forever to do anything and half the time it is lame and just I run up and attack this cool npc with a great story. You’re supposed to talk into the microphone fellas not chew.
  • Garseedy77
    My kinda game time!
Been playing board games with friends for years but kids, serious jobs and life makes it few and far between these days. This gets me through the dry times cuz as much as it was the game it was an excuse to get together, give each other s#¥t and make each other laugh as only best friends can. Thanks Nerd Poker for being a friend!

    I don’t always play D&D so when I can’t I listen to this

Feels like your sitting at the table but your character died.
Reminds me a great deal of my friends and I playing. Your character didn’t make it and they’ll resurrect you if they get around to it. The fun and jokes are enough to make you not worry about your character and let’s be real, the way you’ve been rolling, you’d just die again anyway. I mean, who fails three straight death saves that badly? Your character was secretly craving the dark embrace and it’s time you came to terms with it. Seriously, I love that this takes place at his table with life going on around it. Praise nerd poker and praise D&D. Stay metal.

    Great podcast.
I haven’t enjoyed anything D&D related for decades but the crew at Nerd Poker makes me actually miss playing the game. I tried it on a whim not expecting that I would like it much because I haven’t liked anything similar that I have heard so far. I was completely blown away at how entertaining it was to listen in on their game time. Brian reminds me of how I used to like to play. I never liked to RP, just liked the adventure part. Everyone else is so good too. Sarah, Ken, Chris, and Blaine. Blaine cracks me up because he says out loud all the silly things I think in my head but never say. Still laugh about “Little Dead Bulette.” Dan is an amazing DM too. I like that he tries to help the characters rather than trying to kill them. The whole crew is incredibly fun to listen in on their adventures. I highly recommend subscribing to Nerd Poker.

Can’t beat this podcast with a +5 mace.
Want professional comedians playing a 5E D&D campaign complete with ridiculous but pointless asides, stupid decisions and painful puns? Download this and you won’t be sorry.

    Nerd Poker is No Bluff
Looking for a great podcast full of heart, dice, and obscure reference jokes? Then look no more. You have found a treasure trove of D&D fun that is no mimic! Role play? A-okay! In short, these paladins, get it paladone with Paladino’s jokes!

    Only Getting Better
I've listened since the first incarnation of Nerd Poker, and I have rode a roller coaster of loving it and finding it unlistenable. Honestly, when they rebooted it I stopped listening because of breathing and chewing in the mic (Just a personal pet peeve). All that said, they've improved over the years and the audio sounds good now! Even better, they are doing a good job of staying on track just enough for you to follow the story well. They have found a good balance of D&D, storytelling and goofing off. I'm back to loving it, and happy to support on Patreon. You should too!
  • BigFuzzyTruckerNerd
Love the cast, and story, and the game.
The cast is hilarious and never fail to make laugh. The story is great too, great dm, it really goes in some epic and unconventional directions. I listen to a lot of podcasts and this one I turn on as soon as it hits my feed.

Good, but old need poker still gets me
I like this new campaign but I am still hooked on the first one, and loved to relisten to it all the time. Is there anyone who knows how to get them again?

    Outstanding
I have never played D&D, but now I do. You have to give it a chance and listen all the way through. Thanks Brian for a great Podcast! Update: I wrote the above review a while ago. This podcast has legs for days. Never dull. Also the Patreon content is well worth the money!
  • Brentphx
I can't wait for every episode
This is worth listening to even if you've never played d&d. The characters are fun, the jokes never stop, and the bonus danger room episodes via patron are awesome!

    For Glynnishmore!!!
This is the podcast that helped me find a love for playing D&D. I’ve followed Nerd Poker since its inception at Earwolf studios to today where I’m also one of their 1,289 Patreon subscribers (I’ll gladly give them my money for helping me to discover how fun D&D is to play). Hearing the crew gather together week after week (to play a game I knew nothing about but always wanted to play) sharing laughs, riffs, and cure wounds is how I learned the fundamentals of playing. Now I campaign in a group with 5 other people, and it’s a blast. I’ve gained a true love for D&D and all credit goes to Brian, Ken, Blaine, Sarah, Dan, Sark, and “don’t forget Gerry” Duggan. If you like/love what you hear, consider following their Patreon account also! They have special guests (Tom Lennon, Joe Manganiello, Dana Gould, Rick Remender, Brendon Small to name a few) that appear for bonus Patreon subscriber episodes that are truly great and worth the money.

    The D&D show for everyone
This is such an awesome show, it’s the reason I now have a weekly game of D&D with my friends. It’s a show that reminds you that the true fun of these games is in the time you spend with your friends goofing around and making each other laugh. It’s my favorite podcast far and away. FOR GLINISHMORE!

    A breath of fresh air!
Can’t say enough good things about this podcast. I am grateful to Zack Sporen for putting me on to it. The first two seasons take place in a vast and incredibly creative world laid out by everyone’s favorite DM (coining this!) Dan Telfer. The story telling is fun yet consequential with a deep plot that doesn’t force the players to “figure it out” per say, but gives them the freedom to solve calamities in their own style. If it hasn’t already this should be made into a playable module that can be shared (that’s how good it is). Season 3 picks up with all new characters and a new world and it is absolutely a blast from episode 1. You will not regret giving this series a chance. The episodes are in 1 hour increments so don’t be scared off by the large number of recorded episodes. Also, season 3 does not require past listening of the other two seasons although I recommend you do because it’s all gold. Hope this helps your decision for choosing this series or not. Best! Chris (SEVI)
  • Yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
    Love the show
Sarah and Chris are the best. Season 3 is already compelling. Dr. Uid and Tic Toc are cracking me up.

Wanted to rate one star, but......
I was afraid Bodie would somehow make it into my D&D world and headstomp all my PC’s. So here I am rating this Podcast 5 stars. Seriously, this podcast deserves 5 stars! Although I’m only 15 episodes into season 1. I can hear past Dan Telfer’s cringe worthy D&D 2-5 rules collaboration, and the sarcasm and humor of the whole gang shines through. Also, want to give a shout out to Rhodes, I hope you enjoyed your fidget spinner app. (if I butchered the spelling I apologize). Finally, I’m stoked to be so far behind, with the promise of hours of mind numbing entertainment.
  • Husky Brutor
    So happy this is back
I loved the first version the new version has a better storyline and is funnier. Brian Posehn is one of my favorite comics and Blaine Capatch is one of the funniest people I have ever heard and Dan Telfer gets a chance to stick out now.
