    How fun is this!
I stumbled upon this podcast, and I’ve been watching it all day. I even missed my stop this morning and had to double back. That’s how engrossed I became in watching! I can’t wait to see you!

Ted is such a great guy!
I have been listening for about a year and a half now and even went and caught up on some old shows. Ted Forbes is a top notch guy, he would be a fantastic guy to have a beer with and talk photography. I learn more of the art side through this podcasts and Ted makes me want to go study and look at some of the masters to understand what I am trying to do. Great Podcast and Youtube episodes.

    Treasure Trove of Information!
I love this podcast. Ted is knowledgeable and entertaining and the production quality is great. I’m always learning something new and the photo assignments are fun to partake in. Plus, he’s a former musician like me. Keep up the good work, Ted!

    Since 2011
I believe I've been following this podcast and Ted since 2011 when I was learning how to develop film. I just felt in love with his view. I actually like his photographic work very much even if he doesn't show it often. I've got to discover great photographers because of this podcast and also left behind my attachment to gear.

Ted is great, the music bad.
I love this podcast and have always enjoyed it. Ted recently started playing very loud classical music in the background—it is very distracting and makes it hard to focus on what he is speaking about. The music is just too loud.

    Fantastic
This gem of a podcast provides insightful discussions into photographers such as Michael Kenna, Sebastian Salgado and Henri Cartier-Bresson. As a self-taught photographer, I didn’t know many of the individuals discussed, but Ted Forbes does a fantastic job introducing them, explaining their work without being stuffy or boring. As a self-taught photographer I have learned a ton from Ted’s podcasts. Ted also adds an equipment review here and there to mix things up and keep it interesting. Ted worked in the Dallas Museum of Art for seven years and has a really pleasant and thoughtful way of discussing artists. His speaking voice and speed of presentation are spot on. No matter what level of photographer you are, no matter your photography genre, this podcast is worth a listen.

Tons of good info and thanks Ted for helping to keep film alive.

    Mostly commercials.
So I downloaded one of his podcasts. The podcast was 18 minutes long. For the first 4 minutes he told us what he wanted to talk about. No info. Just that he wanted to talk on this subject. Then from 4 minutes until 8 minutes, it was a commercial on square space. From 8 minutes 10 minutes it was some information on the subject. From 11 minutes to 15 minutes it was a commercial on Lynda dot com. From 15 minutes to 18, he asked for questions. End of show. Out of 18 minutes there was 2 minutes of actual information.

Love how Ted defines the historical relevance of different photographers, equip, & processes. Awesome podcast! More discussions of important artists, more analog & film please.

    Best Photo Show out there
This is a great show. The production is great and the content is amazing. The show is not limited to photo gear reviews or rumors news. Art, style, composition, history... This is what the show is about! Thank you Ted Forbes for the show!

Infomercial in the form of a Podcast
A terrible podcast, actually its more like an infomercial. Because there's a commercial announcement in the beginning, one in the middle and one at the end. The content is not that deep either. When discussing about Diane Arbus, the podcast mentions a film Fur, which has very little connection with the photographs, or the photographer herself. Another podcast centers on the Zapruder film, which has very little to do with photography. A couple podcasts are spent on talking about website hosts for photographers… All of that would fly under the radar, if wasn't for the commercial announcements, which makes you feel like you are listening to some AM radio.

    Inspirational
I've been watching the podcast for a long time, and it is great! There's a good mix of technical, practical, inspirational, and educational. I love the episodes on specific artists. Many of them I did not know before. I would like to see some more nature photography, though.

    Simply one of the Best
Ted's, show is one of the best Video podcasts out there today. If you want inspiration it is here, if you want ideas, look here. Keep up the great work.

Generally very good podcast and educational.
Ted's series on composition is really excellent. Ted is a very good teacher and has a personable style. You will learn from his podcast. I have no interest in doing film and reviewing the Sony Nex series camera was boring in my opinion. I wish Ted had reviewed the Fuji X Sensor cameras, since the X-Pro-1 and the X-E1 cameras are unique and the family of lenses are truly outstanding, but no one hits a home run every time at bat. If you don't lean from this offering, you have no hope of learning anywhere in the podesphere.

    So Well Done!
Thank you Ted for putting these podcasts out. Just watched the first podcast on scanning negatives into PhotoShop. Have watched several others too. You are obviously really smart, know so much, and can really communicate this in a way that inspires one to try new things and learn. Love the fact you started in the darkroom-I did too-but totally embrace all the new things too. Please keep doing this.

    Well done, Ted!
Having gotten back into photography several months ago, found this and his The Photography Show audio podcast to be full of great info. Finding I prefer film to digital also fits well as Ted covers film techniques, also. Great job!

Best alternative photograhy pocast I have seen
Scowering the web and itunes, one is inundated with sources of information, with varying degrees of quality. After consuming the pop-information ie, camera reviews and basic rules of composition, one is left wanting for more. This show offers a fresh yet classical approach to photography, that is definitely geared for those passionate about the craft.
  • LukeHinsy
    Fantastic photography podcastL
I love that he does not seem to have any conflict of interests, in that he doesn't push gear on his listeners at all. Purely photography talk, not how we should go spend our money. That, and it IS extremely educational, in many different facets of photography.
  • Bjorn Moerman PHOTOGRAPHY
    So much dedication!
Ted, Very professional podcast, not concentrating on boring gear etc… Ted is extremely dedicated to this. A must see/hear… Would give it 6 stars if available

Just the show for a bit of inspiration!
If you find yourself in a little photography rut, this show will certainly pick you up! I stumbled upon the show and have caught up on all the previous episodes. This podcast isn't about the latest gratest technology out there, it's simple about taking great photos. Really just what I needed. Thanks Ted!

Thanks for the Podcast and Website
Just want to say thanks for the resource. It is a great overview of basic compositional elements. Appreciate your professionalism. Your references to popular artists and images are invaluable to me, as well as an explanation as to what key elements are being portrayed and why they are important. It seems to me that you will appeal to both the beginner and advanced amateur/professional. As I learn more, I anticipate coming back and watching these podcasts in a new light. Thanks for your efforts.

    Always Informative, Great Host
I never miss an episode. Ted tells it like it is, and there's not a hint of commercialism as there is in MOST other photography podcasts. Thanks for the great podcast Ted. Keep up the great work! Andy Miramar, FL

    Nice guys should finish first
There are way too many people in the photography industry whose little bit of fame has diluted their views and self importance. Ted is NOT ONE of them and it is a pleasure to hear his views and instruction.

Of all the podcasts on Photography I found this one to be the most educational of all. Keep up the great work Ted Forbes !!

    Exactly what I'm looking for
I have been following this podcast for a while now and have watched ALL the podcast since the beginning. Each episode is equally entertaining as well as informative. Ted teaches you a lot more than what an aperture or the shutter speeds do. I got the photography down, its the art of it that I'm lacking. Sadly that is also the critical part of the photography for me. In that this show has been great. Thanks for doing this and looking forward to many more shows.

    Down to earth and informative
I've been following this podcast in all its incarnations since 2009, and Ted Forbes is one of the most down to earth and photography-oriented photographers out there in Podcast-land. No "here's what I did since last episode", no dry technical brouhaha, no numbers and settings, just great info to help you grow your knowledge as a photographer. You can go elsewhere to get your technical fixes and your "what aperture do I need to photograph my breakfast", this podcast will INSPIRE you to concentrate on the ARTFORM. And that's alright in my book.

    Amazing
I can't believe everything I have learned with these podcasts. Ted, you are the best! Make sure you have some time, once you watch the first episode, you won't stop until you see them all. Ted, we are here with you with the new venture!!

    The best of the best
Ted Forbes & the Art of Photography is simply the best of the best. In a time when everything is digital and surrounded by mass market hype, Ted Forbes brings the joy of photography back to the viewers.

The Best Source of Photography Know-How on the Web
Quite simply, the Art of Photography podcast is the truth -- the shows content goes beyond the scope of technique, and deeper into the artform that is making photographs. For example, for inspration and ideas the show's host, Ted Forbes, would suggest visiting an art gallery. For a creative "pick me up", he has episodes dedicated to toy cameras. Oh, and the show does NOT fall into the argument of film versus digital -- this is for photographers and lovers of the art alike. Check it out!

    Great podcast
Ted Forbes' podcast has helped re-inspire me to get back into photography after a long break. I really appreciate his approach.

    Finest video podcast on photography
Thank goodness for Ted Forbes. My photography is better because of this podcast and I've enjoyed every single episode. It may be the only podcast actually on photography and not on gear. I am eager to see what Ted has for us in the future.

The best photography podcast around! And, for foreign listeners, an amazing opportunity to test your english skills - more than 300 words per minute, the guy speaks faster than he thinks... WOW!!!!

    Great Podcast!
I've been watching this podcast since the beginning, and this is definitely one of the best (if not *the* best) photography podcasts out there. Yes, you may already know some of the material, but you're sure to learn something new - promise! You've nothing to lose - it's free! Hope you like it as much as I do. (Thanks, Ted, for taking the time to research and produce these quality podcasts. I, like many others, very much appreciate your efforts!)
