db721Where is the diversity and the men!?Terry is wonderful and her show has been so great for so many years. I think it needs more diversity and a new, critical look. And to include more men. It is so directed toward women now.

nikkifleursDownhill? Maybe consider a counter-interview to balance horrible interview with Tough!I just have to write with my disappointment at Daviesâ I April 2025 interview with âscience journalistâ Tough on ADHD. I usually *love* Fresh Air but the interview with Tough on ADHD was almost unlistenable. Tough revealed himself to be a non-scientist and deeply un-curious and un-empathetic journalist. And Davies allowed him to weasel out of any challenge by not pressing him to go beyond the âheadlinesâ of the studies he cites to. And he also allowed Tough to âplay expertâ despite not having clinical experience with people with ADHD. There is so much more to explore and plenty to improve upon in the world of ADHD research. But Toughâs focus on school performance and height really misses the mark. Maybe consider having a real expert on to counter Toughâs fake takes.

Swan from Upstate NYLeft wingThe interviewers are excellent, but the topics are left wing. I ignore those, but those that interest me are very good.

75 and Fiancialky SetYears of Quqlity JournalismFresh Air never fails to inspire interesting and thoughtful responses from guests. The topics are timely. The quality top notch.

jacki_lorrStill One of the BestsI have been listening to Fresh Air on and off for ⌠30 years maybe. Is that possible? I donât listen to every episode and occasionally an interview is a little âoffâ for me. Sometime Iâll catch up on the subjects that interest me, and it struck me today that, all in all, Fresh Air is still consistently one of the best podcasts/NPR programs out there. The material (for the most part) is relevant, timely, and interesting and the hosts generally knock it out of the park.

Madame RipstitchOh yes!I wish the review by the inane-calling person wasnât the top review. Tonya Mosley and Terri Gross are two of the most thoughtful presenters and interviewers I have ever had the pleasure to hear.
-
Zamalama69Um, time to retireâŚTerry Gross was good; emphasis on WAS. She parroted the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA Deep State Lie against President Trump. Now, she just embarrasses herself.
-
AbbowStaple in my life!So many interesting topics explored with depth and compassion. I have loved Terry Gross for years and now enjoy learning and growing through Tonya Mosleyâs incredible interviewing skills. Also glad that Dave Davies has not left completely and continues to contribute his insights.
-
hollowlegpegTonyaI so disagree with with the last reviewer. Tonyaâs questions are insightful & add depth to the interviews.
-
Carol W PLoving Tonya MosleyI canât imagine a tougher act to join than that of Terri Gross, the gold standard. Tonya Mosley does an amazing job of standing next to Terri and doing a wonderful job. Fresh Air remains a valued news source and a trusted interview source. Good job, Tonya and Terri. Good job, NPR.

Mac an tSionnaighHit or Miss. Mostly Miss Of Late.đLately more miss than hit. I donât understand the preoccupation with SNL. Itâs not a particularly funny nor clever satirical show and itâs way past itâs sell-by. The entertainment topics of late on Fresh Air are, at very best, banal and sycophantic. Time to move on. What was an NPR flagship is now more of a canal barge.
-
moorefun310I Love This ShowThese are the only interviews I listen to. I just love Terry, Tonya and Dave. I learn so much and their guests are clearly honored to be on the show. Itâs a breath of Fresh Air!

Hopeless NPR addictFresh Air - everyone is greatCouldnât disagree more with the last review - all the hosts are awesome
-
â¤ď¸HughesOh myIâm so sorry, but I wish Tonya posed her questions outloud to herself so maybe she could hear how inane they sound.

23 trolleyStay trueThe fawning interview with Amanda Knox did not feel like Fresh Air. No probing question from Tonya Moseley when Knox dismissed as distasteful a request for payment from a person she falsely implicated who cannot profit the way she has from selling her story?
-
KTJ1905Digging yourself out of a holeYou spent a years spreading hate and now trying to convince everyone to get along and accept different opinions. Too little too late. Good luck.

Evonne FalkBill Burr & The QueenAll Hail the Queen Terry!! Omg I hope you had a martini or glass of wine after that interview. Only you can push back, educate a questionable bro and then have actual chemistry with them. I always thought you were the boss lady but after that interview, you rose to a new rank. Can you please interview the next presidential candidates? Love & Light to you & carry on!!!
-
freddyrevyLove Tonya!!Great addition to the best interview show around.

Jimmy DavidsonTerry is the GOATShe's one of the best interviewers of all time. Case in point: her Bill Burr interview! Just listened to the extended version - wow. Easily the type of interview that could fly off the rails and end very poorly, but she navigated that conversation like a veteran and it ended up being a great listen. 5 stars.
-
a bit of stardustBill BurrThe five stars are for Bill, not Terry. Bill is absolutely hysterical, and Terry has absolutely no sense of humor. The joke about feminism was hysterical and she doesnât get the point at all. Of course feminism needs men, since it canât exist without men. But again, she has to draw all the attention to herself and her insufferable Terry-splaining. Sheâs such a virtue-signaling scold. And weâre not in 1950 anymore, Terry. Listen to Bill. Heâs smart and points out the utter absurdity of most modern life.

CFL CharlieMeasles outbreak in TexasI love this podcast. Most topics are very interesting, timely and informative. I was struck by the comment made by the Texas health official regarding vaccinations. The official stated âthis is Texas and people have the right to do what they want with their bodies â. Well that is quite interesting. I guess that is true unless you are a pregnant woman. I am seriously wondering how that health official could say that with a straight face. Unbelievable!
-
KaterTerrific ConversationI always love Fresh Air, and the Bill Burr interview was no exception. What an engrossing, funny, electric conversation and debate between two pros. This is what we need more of in the world right now: good-natured arguments and humility. Thank you, Terri!

Dede STLD LaneI love Tonya Mosley! I think she is a great interviewer. Full of empathy that elicits frank responses from her subject. Glad to know Terri found a great partner.

PEB MAEElon MuskI appreciated the information about the conflicts of interest related to SpaceX and Tesla. This should not be ignored.

James Tripoli3/5 D.E.I. EpisodeNPR is stooping to Fox News levels of bias. Very shabby work.
-
JTR10051 in 14In tbe past, I listened daily. Now I download about 1 episode every 2 weeks. Most interviews are like a high schooler gushing about a new crush with hardly any new ideas and no room for understanding a contrary point of view.

Tolga MGreat Show that has had its hiccups over the years, but which keeps getting better!First, I will admit I have had my frustrations with Fresh Air over the years, two I most readily remember are the lack of coverage (in my admittedly hazy memory) of âArt of the Steal,â the documentary about the hijacking of a local Philadelphia (technically Lower Merion Township) institution (Iâm not a local) I loved, the Barnes Foundation, by non-profit institutions, including the Pew Charitable Trusts, that were stated enemies of Albert C. BarnesâŚand which also help fund WHYY, the NPR station that produces âFresh Air.â While I understand the desire of the show to avoid topics and projects critical of their funders/donors it made me realize at the time the importance of voices like Terry Gross and the cost of her silence, which could have helped promote public discourse on a topic important both regionally and to the wider art world and the public that supports museums (and the wishes of altruists, such as Barnes, as flawed as they may be). Breaking of norms and changes of Barnesâ Foundation, in opposition of his will could be seen as an early sign of the increasing willingness of some to âlawyer upâ and break societal norms as it suits them. The second issue I take and both a plus and a minus is Terryâs lack of a filter. In short she often says whatever comes to mind. This at time childlike wonder (the best way I can describe it) allows her to often mine some new territory that the other talks shows donât. She is genuine, often self-effacing, and refreshing in away that is more and more rare in our world of ever more podcasts with know-it-alls that donât expand the horizons of themselves or their listeners. In this respect sheâs an OG to coin a phrase. Even when she is knowledgeable on a subject Iâm not, such as old Broadway musicals, which donât particularly interest me, she generally makes it welcoming, remembers to bring the listener along with a definition or an aside about a reference, and I end up listening (and learning) from things I did not think I would enjoy. The caveat is sometimes, usually I think due to an ill fitting guest or lack of prep (which I can forgive because how many books and things must the hosts read to prep), an interview doesnât go wellâŚan example is one she did with Trent Reznor a few years back. I donât recall the details and admit I am a fan of his older work, but she asked some really inappropriate questions including something related to if the guest (who was know for some depressing music and talked about his darkest moments) ever thought his son might have suicidal ideation that seemed really insensitive. That said, her willingness to ask any question that comes to mind is more often a strength than an awkward moment. Credit to regular contributors, including Maureen Corrigan, David Bianculli, Dave Davies, Ken Tucker, Kevin Whitehead, John Powers, Lloyd Schwartz, Geoffrey Nunberg, Justin Chang, and Nick Quah who along with Terry have often brought new work to my attention, including novels, non-fiction, artists, musicians, etc. to my attention that Iâm many cases I have grown to cherish. During the fracturing of our politics and culture itâs good to know their are still places for such discovery (in conjunction with local bookstores, music shops and venues that we should all support with our dollars to keep them healthy and vital). Finally, the best for last, credit to Terry and the producers for bringing in Tonya Mosely, who after initial skepticism, Iâve come to really truly value and enjoy for her fresh outlook, perspective and insights. Kudos to her for coming in to carve out a space for herself and to the team for recognizing that what makes Fresh Air special is bigger than any one host, and assuring it is rejuvenated periodically with additional perspectives.

Ralius944How Did Elon Musk Become So Powerful In The Trump Administration?Thatâs it, thatâs all I can take from this leftist rag. For the record, I donât even LIKE Elon. i actually DESPISE Elon. But youâve devoted an entire episode to a hit piece! This episode is all over the place and searching for any and all avenues to attack someone against NPRâs political bias. Itâs not even a professional sounding episode, it sounds like two high schoolers talking about a popular kid they donât like! Space X is a massive company as is Tesla and yet every single one of these bickering points they make makes it sound as if Elon himself is the one making every single decision at these companies. Itâs frankly disgusting and I hope NPR can DO BETTER as Iâm sure they would say.
-
AshukgeghhCome on, Fresh AirDuring this time of political upheaval, Fresh air has totally dropped the ball. Where are the interviews about what is going on in our government?

MyFeedback2UA touchstone for the informed lifeTerry Gross, Tonya and team are American institutions. Brilliant research, informed conversations and charming conversationalists. Brilliant show!

bgq69Left Wing NonsenseSo surprised at how dangerously naive and elitist Sebastian Stan is. I guess when you have money through acting to think youâre better, smarter, and mor Competent than regular people and even than self made billionaires. But hey, at least heâs good looking
-
childish drivelOMGThe new co-host is dreadful. FA is unlistenable when she hosts. Bring back Terry, even if it means re-upping past shows. Iâd rather listen to an old episode with Terry Gross than one more minute of the new godawful co-host.
-
Clara_RosePlan for Gaza/Recruiting CrisisIs this guy a mole? A propagandist? Heâs a Trump (and Kuschner ??!!!??) apologist, and doesnât seem objective at all. Not good and I donât trust anything heâs saying.

The coolkid 2Not what it once wasIt used to be that I was so excited to hear a new episode of Fresh Air and I have been a listener for decades. Now I find that I am less and less interested in hearing an episode. There is an increasingly narrow range of topics or types of opinions expressed. I used to feel that my mind and knowledge were expanded by Fresh Air. Now the opinions are so predictable that I know what the bias of the interviewer is without having to think about it. How about some diversity - of opinion now and then.

TCM279MLK, the organizer and radical thinkerThis episode was brilliant. Thank you so very much!

M Liu-SPrecious interviews with Jimmy CarterThank you, Terry, for the interviews you did with Jimmy Carter. I cannot think of any better duos of the interviewer and interviewee.

leesselSpoilerI love Terry Gross and have been listening to Fresh Air since forever but come on, Terri has always been the Queen Spoiler but this time she outdid herself. For anyone who hasnât watched âSuccessionâ Terri just absolutely spoiled it in a major way by recounting in detail the last scene of the last episode of the series. Why have none of her producers ever called her out on this? So a word to Fresh Air listeners, beware of episodes about film, plays, books etc that you have not seen or read .

Demi1982AvidListenerShow keeps getting betterThe entire ensemble is good but I get so excited when Tonya Mosleyâs interviews are featured. Iâm a long time listener and she keeps me on my toes. I love Terry and Dave and will listen no matter what, but lately Iâve been able to predict who they will interview because itâs the same people NYT and the tv show circuit. Tonya introduces me to new people and ideas, exactly what NPR became known for, introducing us to the world outside of our bubbles. When she interviews the big stars I look forward to her take. She puts the fresh in Fresh Air.

k!k!m@suDeadwylerWhat a fascinating interview of an actor of so much depth.

Camarie1085Terry is the showThis rating is for Terry. The reality is that Fresh Air is what is because of Terry Gross. Her energy and warmth establishes comfort in her interviewees, but she doesnât shy away from asking questions and follow ups that draw out interesting and complex answers you donât hear in interviews with the same people. This talent distinguishes her from the endless list of other interviewers and competing culture podcasts that simply cannot do what she does. I find myself skipping this podcast more and more when I scroll through an episode and donât hear her voice. Iâm not sure what the future holds, but if you are a new listener and want to hear Fresh Air at top performance, try to find her interviews. Itâs challenging because the descriptions donât say who conducts the interview (frustrating but I get it).

name881Fresh AirWant more Terry & Dave- miss them! Please have them on more. Fresh Air is just not the same without them- the way they interview, the topics they pick, even the cadence of their voices is engaging and comforting. Thanks
