The Homeschool How To

How To #243

I don't claim to know anything about homeschooling, so I set out on a journey to ask the people who do! Join me as I chat with homeschoolers to discuss; "why are people homeschooling," "what are all the ways people are using to homeschool today," and ultimately, "should I homeschool my kids?"

    Hooked from first episode!
Cheryl's questions ARE SO GOOD! She is bold and says things that people are thinking but hesitant to talk about. I'm so thankful I came across her podcast as our children are preschool age and we are making decisions about their education now. Her content has given me the confidence to take the plunge into homeschooling- whatever it takes, we have to do it! I am a full time working mom and it can be done, with my husband's help, family members, nanny's, sitters!

    The real deal
I listen to so many podcasts and learn a lot from the hosts who interview experts. But we can also learn a lot from each other and Cheryl is spending time talking to people who are out there homeschooling every day. I’ve learned so much from these people who are just like me. I look forward to every episode!

    Amazing perspective
I love all of the stories from all the different walks of the homeschool journey. We can always learn from each other, and often do as homeschoolers. I appreciate both Cheryl’s perspective and each one of the mommas she has on her show. Great listen if you’re thinking of homeschooling, but also if you’re in the thick of it and just need encouragement or a fresh look at things. Highly recommend!

    Takes the edge off homeschooling
Listening to the path of discovery of a homeschooling parent is exciting. I’ve been there (at the beginning) and I enjoy listening the different families, their ways to do it and insights.

    I feel seen!
Thank you for taking the time to do podcast #54, it's the first one I've listened to of yours, and I loved it! I feel seen. I am a first year homeschooler of 2 little kids. I have been having a rough week and thinking about mid year curriculum changes and this episode helped me so much. It gave me answers to why I was thinking the way I was thinking. It also helped me not feel so alone in the rough times when you were discussing your rough week. Thank you, and I am looking forward to listening to more of your podcasts.

    Love it!
I love this podcast. I started listening while deciding if I wanted to continue sending my kids to public school or start homeschooling! Hearing all the different perspectives really helped me make the decision to jump in! Cheryl is very realistic about her worries and struggles with being a homeschooling parent. It’s so refreshing to hear her discuss her concerns and then the reassurance from her guests. It’s also refreshing to hear from parents who truly love to be with their kids every week. I look forward to every episode of this podcast!

    Insightful listen each week!
I’m currently in the same position as Cheryl was when she began this podcast - navigating the decision to homeschool our son! Listening to mothers’ accounts across the country has been so enlightening and insightful that I truly feel more prepared and equipped to take on the challenge of homeschooling! It’s also nice to feel a bit more understood, as the conversations are candid and relatable each week! Thank you Cheryl!

Two thumbs up from a 25 year veteran homeschool mom
Cheryl’s podcast has both depth and breadth on a topic that begs for just this! She is a great interviewer. As a veteran hs mom (now graduated) I am always impressed by how deeply she digs into all the ways that DIY education changes family life - for the better! She REALLY gets it! She leaves no stone unturned and bravely steps into territories that others leave unexplored….like, indoctrination and the dumbing-down of our kids. Her energy is contagious and her intelligence is evident in every question and conversational gambit. Have a listen - you’re gonna learn volumes about why you should consider home education!

This podcast is really great for the person who feels like they are alone in their convictions to homeschool their child I love the way that Cheryl brings listener through from her first inkling and doubts about homeschooling to connecting with prominent community leaders and homeschool parents. This podcast is brilliant and I’m excited to here all the episodes. - The Homeschool Admin

    Knowledge Prepping
A perfect podcast for those exploring a homeschool journey. Every episode is packed full of resources! So many families have been forced by the government to homeschool. Get prepared now before the woke corruption comes to your school! E12 Comment: I have used the pythagorean theorem in DIY building projects on my homestead. I thought it was information I would never use but I have now used it several times in my projects.

    Just wow
I went in with an open mind and as I listened, realized just how very UNeducated this host and their guests are. Not many facts, very biased.

That’s exactly what I was asking myself and others about!
This had been the most useful podcast! Questions you’ve asked is exactly what I had in my head. And the the noise of people around us who just don’t get it yet, just don’t bother me as much, as I’m learning through you and your guests about all this! Thank you so much for doing this!

    Favorite podcast
So far this is my favorite homeschooling podcast. I’ve listened to a bunch (new homeschooler) and this is by far the most informative! Love listening to real world thoughts, opinions, and hearing answers to the questions I’ve been thinking! Not just making me feel bad for not being all knowing like a lot of the other podcast out there. Thank you for starting this for other newbies, also this is the first review I have ever left on a podcast and I’ve listened to podcast for years. (That’s how much I appreciate it) 💕

Wonderful insight for today on education
I love how she is delivering into how education in a public setting is making a lot of people question its methods and that homeschooling can be a viable option for people and it has so much to offer families. I myself was homeschooled growing up and out parents were looked down on, it is so nice to see to podcast showcase how many people have been happy with their choice to homeschool.

I have never gotten myself to listen to podcasts, but I love this one. I am also on the journey of whether or not to send my children to school or homeschool and this is very helpful listening to others situations and their knowledge.
