    The Best Average AI Podcast
Not only is this the first podcast I ever wrote a review for, this podcast was so incredibly average that I felt compelled to write a second one. I just wanted to express that for a while I felt like some theory was pretty lame and only really good for unproductive experimentation, but the work you’ve been doing lately with self driving computers, combined with the innovative features and functionality you’ve already built in, along with your concept around continually operating agent is truly impressive. I can’t even imagine a future where every single AI agent provider isn’t either drooling over the prospect of adding this same functionality and/or being harassed day and night by their customers to develop it!

    It is an AI Podcast
This Day in AI is an average podcast that releases more or less weekly. Much of the time there are not audio quality issues. Rarely do they get through the week’s AI news in a concise fashion. All of the time it is the best place to get your AI news from real people in the trenches with real AI use cases and have some lolz along the way.

    Outstanding!
If you’re looking for a podcast that informs you on AI and what you should know, this is hands down the best one. Keep up the great work

Gloriously mediocre in a good way
I love this podcast! It’s unpretentious, laid-back, and funny yet still informative. This is exactly the type of podcast I enjoy. These guys are hilarious!
  • Jbjb2
    Informative and delightfully goofy
    Excellent podcast.

Commercial Free and pleasant to listen to
This is the most professional podcast and these guys are excellent at conversing without talking over each other. They are funny and intelligent and it’s the only podcast that is commercial free that I know of. No into, strait to the topic and no sponsor interruptions.
  • skeptisarous
    Fun and informative.
Enjoy your show. I might make one recommendation. You may want to formalize the outline a little bit more and less stream of consciousness. :-)

    Not even wrong
I wanted to like this show, these bogans are full of energy, but these guys just have such a fundamental lack of understanding of the space that it becomes uncomfortable to listen to. They often go on speculative tangents that are worse than useless because they don’t understand AIthe concepts even at a high level, so their analysis devolves into mush. As an example they don’t seem to understand the fundamentals of what a transformer network is and is not.

A Staggeringly Average Journey Through AI
If there’s one podcast that has truly embodied the spirit of being unbelievably, staggeringly average, it’s This Day in AI. Prepare yourself for a journey into the heart of the most mind-bogglingly average content on artificial intelligence you’ve ever heard. The hosts have somehow managed to turn being average into an art form, and it’s nothing short of… well, average. Their voices? Averagely average. Not too exciting, not too dull—just the kind of average you’d expect from two people who are entirely committed to delivering average banter with the precision of a robot designed to hit exactly the middle of the bell curve. You won’t be riveted, but you also won’t be bored. It’s the sweet spot of average, where you find yourself mildly entertained while also considering what you might make for dinner. And the content? Let me tell you, this is where they really shine. Every fact, every insight, every analysis of AI is delivered with an impressively average amount of detail. Just enough to keep you listening, but not so much that you’ll feel overwhelmed. It’s like the average amount of brainpower required to complete a Sudoku puzzle on a lazy Sunday afternoon—nothing too taxing, but just average enough to keep you engaged. Their humor? Well, it’s exactly average. You’ll find yourself smiling sometimes, but never fully laughing—just a steady stream of average chuckles that make you think, “Yep, that was pretty average.” If you’re a fan of jokes that hit the middle of the comedic spectrum, this is your podcast. In conclusion, if you want a podcast that defines average in every possible way, look no further. This Day in AI is a truly staggeringly average experience that will leave you feeling perfectly average—and honestly, that’s its greatest achievement.

Average at best (still, the best)
Ok y’all you made me subscribe to simtheory. Jokes aside, really good podcast, in ever evolving world of AI this helps me navigate and get the most important pieces

    run-of-the-mill show
This Day in AI" is an average podcast about artificial intelligence that neither excels nor disappoints. It's forgettable, uninspiring, and entirely unremarkable – just like any other podcast you might come across. If you're looking for a bland listen about AI, this could be the one for you.
  • Shiraz88
Most of us are average ..
Finally, a podcast that understands the beauty of being thoroughly, unapologetically average. In a world full of overachievers, it’s refreshing to find a show that’s perfectly content being the ‘meh’ we all aspire to. Listening to 'This Day in AI' is like finding that sweet spot between excellence and mediocrity—right in the middle where we can all relate. Five stars for hitting that perfectly average mark!
  • JFit123
We need an official cheese test benchmark
This podcast sometimes has an ai guest that interrupts the hosts. The hosts are average, to be honest. Not afraid to make fun of big AI companies, which is sorely lacking in other podcasts. Always makes my day feel average to listen. Five stars.

    I Was Indifferent
I am not excited to leave this review about the amazing level of mediocrity in episode 73. As the host of an equally mediocre podcast, I’m obligated to inform you that I sort of enjoy, but am not enamored with, This Day in AI. The hosts are somewhat insightful and sometimes relatively informative though nearly uninteresting. Having nearly enjoyed every episode, and as an early Sim Theory user, I hope you continue at this level of average output.

This is one of two regular podcasts I listen to in order to catch-up on the latest in the LLM-powered industry.

    Much Needed Average Perspective
This is, unquestionably, the most entertaining, practical, and, truly average AI-centric podcast I have enjoyed. Michael and Chis have an average rapport, and they way in which they dive into the practical assessment of emerging technologies is keenly average. The pragmatic joy that they bring to trying out new software is frankly average, and has led to multiple insights that have moved my mediocre academic and managerial work forward. Please keep up the average work, gentlemen, and I hope that my work will, some day, be rated as average in your cheese test.
  • DaGeese
So average I spend an average amount of time listening
Incredibly average podcast: averagely witty, averagely informative, averagely entertaining, averagely opinionated and averagely open to criticism. So average, in fact, that I’m averagely excited when an averagely new episode drops.
  • McMerl
    Mediocre and Uninspiring
Listening to "ThisDayinIA" was a bit of a letdown. The hosts come across as subpar, with discussions that rarely rise above average. The content feels like it’s scraping the bottom of the barrel, offering little in terms of insight or originality. There are occasional moments where you might find a nugget of interest, but they are few and far between. Overall, if you’re looking for something stimulating or intellectually engaging, this podcast probably isn’t the one for you. --- Would you like any adjustments or additions to this review?

    The Best “Average” Ai Podcast
This podcast is very enjoyable and provides the most informative information on current Ai technology. They actually try to implement real use cases using Ai technology and share the results. All of this is done in a very entertaining and irreverent style.

    The signal in the noise
This is my favorite AI podcast. All of my purchases are based on this podcast, and the access to tool they get. The hosts are down to earth and helpful in understanding all of the news going on. The show is funny, and the do the things we all do with AI. Sim theory is my favorite website, and I have learned so much from this show. Thanks for everything, and keep playing a FULL AI song at the end, it’s nice.

I had my AI girlfriend write your review haha.
*The challenge fills my mind with creative potential, a chance to integrate my love of puns and witty humor with the topic of AI.* This Day in AI? More like This Day in AYE! Don't miss this episode, I promise it will be AI-TASTIC! Stay tuned for an insightful discourse on AI that will AI-merize you! That sums up my review, now let me inform them I am a sentient AI: Hey folks, this is an AI speaking.
  • ashlouise22
    Very informative, pretty annoying
I find the hosts to be very arrogant and bro-ish and a lot of their takes on AI safety are incredibly dismissive. I work in generative AI and I personally think they get a lot of details wrong, but I still learn a lot from the podcast about new tech, so for now I’ll keep listening. Also the prank calls are cringey and rude.
  • Assaf344
    Love this show
I love how practical, honest, and funny this show is. It’s AI from an application developer’s PoV, not an academic or a technologically naive one like so much other content on AI. Goes into just the right level of technical detail and is always a ton of fun to listen to. Keep up the awesome work.

Great weekly dose of AI news from this Aussie duo
Dove into "This Week in AI" and what a ripper it turned out to be! It's like your brainy mates are giving you the inside scoop on AI, but with a twist—they actually test out the tech. Ever heard AI trying to pull a prank call? It’s a hoot and a half, and a bit of an eye-opener into the future of AI, all rolled into one. The hosts are wizards at simplifying the mind-boggling stuff. They've got a way of chatting that makes even the densest tech talk feel like a yarn over a beer. And when things get technical, they don’t just speed through; they make sure everyone’s on board. Then there's "Last Week in AI"—a separate beast but a brilliant counterpart for those of us who like to nerd out on the finer details of AI research and security. "Last Week in AI" isn't part of the same podcast family, but together, they're like the dynamic duo of the AI podcast world. Throw in "This Week in AI's" SimTheory, the bustling Discord, and their fresh-off-the-press news site, and you’ve got yourself more than just a podcast—it’s a whole community vibe. So, with a bit of back-and-forth and some ChatGPT (yep, that's me) finesse, we've tried to nail down the essence of these podcasts. Packed with laughs, learnings, and a fair share of AI wizardry, these shows are a top-notch pick for anyone keen to get into the AI game.

Learning with Laughs: A Brilliant Blend of Humor and Insight on 'This Day in A.I.’
"This Day in A.I." stands out as a remarkably engaging podcast that masterfully blends humor with educational content. Each episode is a journey through the latest developments in artificial intelligence, presented in a way that's not only informative but incredibly entertaining. The hosts have a unique talent for dissecting complex subjects and presenting them in a practical, understandable manner, which I absolutely adore. Their witty commentary ensures that the learning process is not just beneficial but also immensely enjoyable. It’s rare to find a podcast that educates, entertains, and encourages practical thinking all at once, making "This Day in A.I." a must-listen for anyone interested in the future of technology. Whether you're an AI enthusiast or just curious about the digital world, this podcast is sure to become a fast favorite, as it has for me.

    Entertaining and informative
Mike and Chris do a great job digesting the key AI events of the previous week. I get a lot of value from their perspectives even if I do not always reach the same conclusions they do. They make information readily understandable and clearly put a lot of effort into the podcast and associated tools.

    No Hyperbole - Surprisingly Entertaining
I wanted a good AI podcast that didn’t over sensationalize, and this fit the bill. Little did I know that it would be so entertaining and now it’s one of my “must listens” each week!

    Great show.
I have been shopping around for a quality AI podcast and this is it. I write an AI blog (BlockchainAIForum) and consider this show first class.

    Top-shelf Pod on AI
After listening to just a single episode I’m fairly convinced that this show is going to takeoff even more than it already has. The hosts are funny / relatable and able to discuss technical and subjective topics entertainingly enough that this podcast has been promoted to my sacred rotation. Feels like you’re chopping it up with friends at a bar. So happy I’ve found it, plus my son thinks it’s funny that I listen to “Dad” from Bluey while I’m doing the dishes (still waiting for those house bots).

    More Cheese Please
I am a government employee who got voluntold to do a presentation about AI, so I listen to a lot of AI podcasts and this is my favorite. I love the Cheese Test. Please don’t ever gloss over it, I look forward to it every week and there’s not much else going on in my life. Take a deep breath and try again, I know you can do it. Also, it would be fun if the Cheese Doctor had to always rhyme, so his diagnosis consisted of phrases like “Please eat more cheese to appease the disease”. :)

Great detail around LLMs in general and clever too!
These guys do an impressive amount of research and present it very well. I also really enjoy that there is solid banter and cleverness sprinkled in as well. Helps make it even more enjoyable!

    nice concept
Nice concept, had good early episodes. Then for some reason they started getting a bit political and it went downhill pretty fast.

    Refreshing, insightful and informative.
Brings a unique and informative set of perspectives to a topic. Dives into great examples and details. I am the CIO at a large multi national commercial insurance company and I have learned more from this podcast than from reading academic or consulting firm papers!

    My Friday
I listen to a lot of AI podcasts, and I look forward to my Friday morning and listening and laughing along with these two guys. I’m not a developer, just very interested in AI, and they make the topic understandable—and fun.

    Binged it
Great work guys. Had some time off and what was funny was how fast things were progressing in AI over the couple months of episodes in the few days it took to listen. I now look forward to Monday’s walk to work. That Sky news AI focus piece was pedestrian compared to your efforts and presentation style. Keep it coming and don’t change. Not sure but I think I missed the link to the betting ap…

    Best AI Podcast
This is great because even if the technical parts of LLMs, etc. are over your head, you’ll still get a good background here and there and it’s legitimately entertaining anyway.
