The plot is just okay and the characters are hard to like. The story is also short and could have been developed better.

I listen to a lot of fiction podcast and this one wasn't my favorite. The plot was a little too obvious and very linear, though there was an unexpected moment or two. The characters were pretty one dimensional. The voice acting was pretty good though and the sound design was as well. It seems like the first work of someone who will be a great podcast producer in the future.

This podcast could have been drawn out a little longer, as the episodes were fairly short and it felt like most were used to build up to the main event, leaving the main night in the pyramid to be condensed and rushed feeling. The characters were not great. The personalities seemed disjointed with one another, the dialogue was meh, and it felt like some characters were only in the story to be sacrificial lambs rather than genuine relationships. There was so much happening while they were in the pyramid that the only way to keep track of what was happening was through the main character’s “historical fact” speeches, also adding to the disjointed feeling. Overall, it was a bummer to feel like I invested so much time into this only to wind up speed running what should have been the best part of the show, especially with how cringy the characters could be.

It is like the characters are on a broadway stage. But what happened with the characters. Please do bring a season 2 please. 🍿🎭🎟️🎤

These characters are insufferable. My goodness. The main character is so self-important. My goodness. She thinks she knows everything. Her friend was horribly killed in front of her and she complains about her friend potentially being upset that she’s not upset enough while she solves this puzzle. Lampshading doesn’t make her reaction less disturbing. Overall it’s boring. I was unable to tap into my theater of the mind for this one. A disappointment. I will see what else is on offer. In Another Room and Between the Devil were amazing, for example.

Just finished with first episode. Really enjoyed it can’t wait to hear the rest. PLEASE BRING SEASON 2

Need season two

Listened the whole way through bc I was bored and story was short. Acting is subpar and not very convincing. Story is very hard to follow. A lot of confusing plot points with not enough backstory or any rhyme or reason.

Acting’s pretty cringy, story’s kinda cliche. Better luck on your next podcast.

This was great. It’d be cool if you could do a season 2. Whether you continue this or just have a whole new story.

This is really, really awful. Immature and stupid students having inane conversations rather than doing anything to move a plot forward. I couldn’t even make it through the first ep. The great tragedy of podcasting these days is that any wannabe with a microphone and a laptop can make a podcast, even if they utterly lack writing or directing or acting skills. Were the entry bar for podcasts higher, we could have been spared dreck like this.

Definitely need a season 2. I binged listen to the entire season while at work.

I love this show. The characters are realistic. I found the story interesting and well produced. It’s odd though that it doesn’t say if or when there will be more.

I could not get through the first 10 minutes. The dialogue was annoying and bizarre, the acting was cringey, snd the characters were unlikeable from the start. The show starts with the annoying characters insulting each other, and using foul language, which seemed to set up nothing. Very unlistenable

Where is SEASON2??? Another podcast and only 1 Season??? Great story telling, great writing, actors are great!!!

One of the worst ever. What a waste of time… This has to be a joke…

UPDATE: once again, REALM has dropped the ball, reminds me of QCODE, a chance for a good story ends in a dismal disaster, crash and burn. They could’ve had something great, but went the cheap way out and ended it with a whimper. Excellent story line, exceptional voice acting, and fantastic orientalist music, playing in the background, wonderful orient sound! Hoping this podcast, continues as a student of Orient, it’s exciting that Egyptian folk lore is heard!

Very imaginative and easy. Found it by chance and fell in love!!!!! The development of the characters is perfectly achieved in such a short period. I can’t wait to see what else they have.

The cast is unbearable the girl who plays Kayla is truly truly unbearable and annoying trying sound overly cute and saying stuff like “put it in my face” she is this annoying white girl in another culture and it’s so obvious why people hate us. Maybe that’s the point of the series is for us to be happy when these people die or something . Maybe they are killed off for being insufferable!!!! It’s bad people I promise you and the good ratings are probably from a 12 year old or people who worked on the podcast

I listen to a lot of fictional podcast story series and this is by far the worst one I’ve listened to in a while. A really bad effort by the production team and I suspect that they would concur.

VO actors were good. Plot was ok; could have been tightened up a bit better in places. Very odd ending with nothing mentioned if this is a one off season or if a second season is in works.

Can we please get a few more seasons. This type of subject matter has not really been explored before. Great original concept for a podcast. 👍🏾

An okay but slightly confusing plot. It kept me interested enough to listen to the end. The performances were adequate and not distracting. I also appreciated the quality of the production value. However, I found the majority of the main characters to be generally unlikeable. The students and the twin sister were overall selfish, disrespectful, naïve, and recklessly foolish, to the point that, in the end, (spoiler alert) I did not care that none of them made it out of the pyramid. I liked that the twin brother made it out, as he was the only one who was the least bit kind or with any kind sense. Overall I felt a little let down, as there weren’t any characters I felt compelled to root for. Most were typical irreverent, arrogant college students.

I’m a paid subscriber and this shows says it updates weekly, even said it updated today, same day as I’m posting and it been over a month since an episode has dropped. It’s a great show, but I’m pretty sure the feed is broken

I really like this story the actors were really good and the production was solid. I just find it fascinating that everyone that tells the stories of the Egyptians are like Arabic or Middle Eastern when the Egyptian’s were“black“ even though they did not view themselves as black they were what we were called today “Black people.” Folks forget that Egypt is in Africa, the people you see there now are migrants, who eventually moved overtime.

To story writers: Over curious, naive nerd, inebriated idiot, clueless bimbo, a tag along, and a scaredy ca no one listens to. Every point for creativity. Did she just say, “I’m sure the light will work better once we are inside the pitch black tomb.” Hey and maybe water gets easier to breath the deeper you dive. What, will the couple split off to make-out and then the others split-up to search for their obviously dead body parts because you know, then they’ll get some great pictures of the killer. Or will they dare each other to offer their blood to summon a murderous ancient ghoul to see if it’s real or not. Predictable, predictable. Can we not rely on outright stupid characters who are then surprised when something bad happens to them so plot twist are possible. I hope this gets better because I like it’s premise. It’s just we live in a culture that has a term called red flags meaning: clues and signs of something being wrong with a situation; back out while your ahead. So for me this doesn’t entice my suspension of disbelief, the way they make so many of the lamest excuses to get themselves arrested in a conservative county.

Huge fan of historical dramas and this surpassed my expectations. It took a couple episodes to get spooky but once it did I was hooked. Feel like I need to go check out the pyramids in Egypt now!

Binged the whole thing in two days because it was so good. Felt like The Mummy movies with a darker twist. Acting is great and the sounds feel realistic. Will definitely be listening again in a few months

I really enjoyed the acting and the story. It’s a very interesting take on a scary audio drama.

I liked the Egyptian lore but it was slow going and cheesy.
