Leisure #131Home & Garden #27

The Garden Culture Podcast is more than just a how-to garden podcast, this is a place where we let the garden inspire our lives, as well as get to know incredible people who infuse their own lives with the magic of nature and gardening. Follow along as we talk about what to do in the garden each month and interview interesting people who weave gardening into their lives. Our host, Bailey Van Tassel, is a home gardener and the founder of a national gardening club. Her goal is to get more people gardening, especially in suburbia and small spaces, as she has. Bailey's mission is to make gardening an American pastime and a part of our innate culture. Her hope is to have more families raise their kids with a reverence for nature and an instinct for growing their own food and flowers.

Absolutely LOVE podcast. I always get something practical out of it. I am so encouraged by Bailey’s honesty and transparency with her feelings and mistakes. I am LOVING the CA to TN content and of course the garden build. Love it, Bailey!

    Love this podcast
I have learned so much about gardening and permaculture from this podcast. Bailey is very practical and entertaining, I appreciate the thoughtful planning of each show with guests and information. Bailey is transparent about her own learnings and it helps me know that no one is a perfect gardener.

Informative, funny, and real honest talk about all things back yard gardening.
I started listening to the GC podcast sometime after the new year, starting from episode 1, and I regret not becoming a listener sooner, it’s SOOO GOOD! I even started my own vermicompost because of one of the episodes and the information that was discussed. I listen to the Garden Culture Podcast at least twice a week and love distressing on my drive home from work to her convos with guests and quick comments/poems on current seasons. Very soothing and informative!

    Always inspiring!
I’ve followed Bailey on Instagram since the early days when she started sharing about her gardening journey while living in her condo in Costa Mesa. I’ve always been inspired by everything she shares and does. I still think about her stories of gathering garden bundles with her son and delivering the sweetest little garden gifts to her neighbors. I recently started listening to her podcast and it takes it up another whole notch of inspiration! Hearing her speak and share her experiences and the whole journey she has taken feels so relatable, sincere and just comforting to listen to. It’s feels similar to having a conversation with a good friend, and just makes you happy! Can’t wait to listen to more episodes!

Average at best. This is the generic white toast version of a gardening podcast. Boring, generic topics. No meat or substance. Not only is she shelf absorbed, but her fake valley girl voice is nails on a chalkboard

    Such good content
Love this podcast so much! She shares great insight and info on all things garden and more. I started following Bailey on instagram and naturally became obsessed with her garden and all the content she offers through that! I was so excited when I saw she had a podcast too!

    Beekeeping
The beekeeping episode was so great and answered so many questions I have had. I like that Bailey has different people on than I have heard on other podcasts! She is such a refreshing voice in the gardening world

    Thank you!
I really love your content. It’s great for someone like me who is still learning slowly about permaculture and don’t want to feel overwhelmed then burn out. Thank you!

I absolutely love this podcast! Bailey sets the beginning of the month with a meditative poetic introduction that I look forward to. She is incredibly down to earth and inspirational. She reminds you that you don’t need to have a farm or huge piece of land to be successful. While I love her solo episodes, her guests are interesting and fun to dive into their beautiful instagrams while listening along. Since listening to this podcast (and living in the suburbs) I have upgraded to my raised garden bed and am growing seeds for the first time. I have introduced more fresh produce into my diet because it is so easy to have in the backyard. I would recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to be transported into the garden, learn about the seasons, earth, sustainability, nourishment and beauty.

    Garden goodness
Bailey’s energy and love for the garden is heard throughout her podcast. She speaks little word of poetry when talking about the garden. I feel her love through my headphones, and she’s a reminder that plants and humans go hand and hand. So I’ll end this review with my favorite quote. “ Everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help. Gardening is an instrument of grace”. Your soul is beautiful Bailey.

So much more than a podcast!
Bailey’s podcast is so much more than a podcast! She is such a voice of inspiration on living your true life calling and true self. The gardening tips and discussions are the bonus, but the real beauty is the descriptive and motivating words spoken through her genuine approach!
