cje-662CentsBrian (I think that’s your name), you advertise the show as a conversation with Chad Graff about the coming Patriots offseason but you can’t resist wasting half of his time slot again discussing what you deem to be BB’s shortcomings. Did Bill kick your dog or something — get over it. Bill won plenty and failed some — a trade off all of us should gladly accept. Stop burying the best coach in the history of the NFL and focus on what’s ahead. Oh yeah — one more thing — stop it with the digits on your percentages. Can’t you just say 36% — do we really need to know it is 36.2% — enough already…

Snelson1708Great pod, but..,As a Boston sports fan I love this pod, but would it be possible for Spotify or The Ringer to make two versions and bleep out the F bombs? I hate having to listen to ESPN radio in the car with my eight and 10-year-olds.

PervisEllison29Great Boston podThis is a really good place for quality analysis on daily Boston sports news. It’s a new go to for me. Brian keeps you up on all the teams without having to watch every game or reading about them everyday.

Monkeyface7Great guestsThere is no greater joy than listening to Sean Grande call a Celtics game. The man is a legend.

rborkowsQuality Boston sports pod, feels more like a radio showLove how Brian incorporates stats into his angles and the program in general. My only real comment is that it feels a bit wordy, or like it’s trying to fill time in a 4 hour radio show sometimes, could be a bit crisper in this format. Thanks for the content!

Sir MaxwellLove the podBut I really wish Brian would add an R to “frustrated” haha I physically react whenever he says it. I don’t know why but it bothers me to the point where I skip the Sox segments when I know he is probably very fustrated…

Errors and MisconceptionsEven a non-Boston Fan is HookedBrian Barrett is one of a kind. He has fiercely adopted a no-frills style and the substance here is so appreciated. He dives right into the content at the beginning of the show, and it is there every minute. He is the opposite of a shock jock. His analysis of the Boston teams is entire. He simply does not settle for not knowing. He is relentlessly logical and analytical. He also comes across as a real person. Honest personally and objective about the issues. I have no allegiance to Boston sports but gravitate here nonetheless. Barrett lets his work speak for itself.

Mullie1No personality & nothing but weird stats for an hourI tried to like this pod but this guy only whines about the local teams and spew’s irrelevant statistics (“Hardaway shoots 38.3% on catch & shoots in the paint on weeknight games on the road” etc). Who frikkin cares!! Unlistenable

2.0chainzLove itrecently discovered it as a Boston native in a part of the country where it’s hard to get the nitty gritty of the sports i used to easily access back at home. absolute auto listen everytime

British AndyHost has zero sense of humorLove Boston sports. Love the ringer. Thought I’d love this podcast but the host is way too serious. I’ve listened to about 10 episodes and still haven’t heard him make a joke or do anything that shows he’s a human being and not a sports robot. I’m surprised that of all the Boston sports experts/personalities, this is who they chose as host. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

jrome1142TransitionsLove the pod and the information that is provided and the way it’s delivered. Can some transitions please be put in so there aren’t 5-10 second gaps of silence

Beetle_StoneGreat Boston Sports Talk!Brian is a great host, knows his stuff, and has top guests, (Alex Cora, Pats players..) throws in stats, but not overwhelming. I like how they have same-day podcasts when there’s big news. I always check in with the podcast, esp now with the Mac Jones issue and the Ime Udoka suspension. He’s fun to listen to, and you learn a lot.

Clapperific33No ThanksI stopped listening to sports radio and switched to podcasts to avoid this exact show. Every episode is just how awful everything is with Boston teams. Patriots win, the next episode is called do we have a mac problem. If I wanted a show like this, I’d listen to WEEI. Hard pass.

dancing_bear_66Potentially interesting Boston sports podcastI’ll say OtP has a lot of potential, because Bill and The Ringer are behind it. But I agree with another reviewer that it needs to improve pretty quickly to keep New England sports fans engaged. Brian leans WAY too heavily on mind-numbing use of data for my taste. Where is the stories and characters to go along with the #s? Let’s get some more compelling guests coming in. Where are the Globe writers, for example? James White was a nice start - but having Jules on to kick things off would have led to more provocative conversation. And get Eck in there for crying’ out loud! While I’m sure Simmons is trying to give Brian the space to build his own show, he needs to lean on their fearless leader more heavily here in the early days, to pull talent and help entertain listeners. Also to the other reviewers: how can he really be anything but critical right now the way the Sox and Pats have been playing??? Anyway, step it up. This is Boston, not Philly.

Paggy24Let’s goooo!Great stuff Brian! Glad to still have you around to shine light on the things we need to know as Boston sports fans.

The Boston AdvisorSammyI was very excited for this podcast, but it needs to get better fast. Monologues of stats to open followed by cliched points and stories about Boston teams the knowledgable fans already know.
-
thompsoncoleBrian Barrett! This is so awesome! I was wondering why i wasn't hearing him on weei anymore and now I know. Big fan. I'll be checking this out, it's bound to be smart and entertaining.

zackmcaWe don’t need more felger and mazzPrefers being negative and being down on all thing Boston sports. Portrays stats very one sided to make his arguments. Ex harsh on Chaim overall citing last off season which is fair but doesn’t give any credit to his good moves Whitlock workman trade etc. . Overall experience feels too much like I’m listening to felger and mazz whine and moap

Len T. in BostonNew GM in Boston?Brian’s content and knowledge are superb. WEEI’s loss is The Ringer’s gain. Would like to see Brian GM Boston’s four pro sports teams for a year. (Please minimize the gratuitous four letter words though; not necessary).

puckbuck31What a joy…?Feels like an extension of the local radio guys, constant doom and gloom and complaining.
-
tjk48Too many stats. An hour long recitation of statistics. Not particularly interesting.
-
MTimothyMoA big blow hardBrian is the worst sports talk host in America. While he quotes stats all the time, he uses one-sided stats that fit his argument and ignores the rest. He swings back and forth from day to day (sometimes inning to inning) about which players he likes and which ones “blow” as he says. His analysis this season about Chaim Bloom and the Red Sox makes him sound like a complete amateur. His podcast is a complete waste of time unless you want to listen to someone insult players all the time.

SunshineWoodstockOld timesJust like old times, like last week, being with you Barrett. How do I call in?
