I used to absolutely love this show, but I can’t stand the new host. Something about the way she tells the stories makes it feel like she’s reading someone else’s writing instead of in her own voice. The audio level is all over the place and it’s hard to listen. Also, the stories are way shorter and less juicy than they used to be!

Just about every episode of this podcast has had me riveted. It’s a brilliant examination of why gossip is sometimes a survival skill.. and it’s also freaking hilarious. The new host Rachelle is fabulous & brings out the best in the many excellent guests

Rachelle, love your candor with guests and how you discuss stories. Please stop giggling every other sentence. With the sound of your giggle in the mic, it’s so hard to listen to the story. It happens so frequently that it’s all I can hear. Not sure if it’s a sound quality issue and that’s why it sounds so piercing, but it’s distracting from the story.

Rachelle is an amazing new host! The show still feels like Normal Gossip- but with a new twist in the best way!!!

No qualms with the new host at all. But the stories this season are notably shorter and not as good. Also she doesn’t ask what side the guest is on and that bothers me lol.

Love the show, loved Kelsey and think Rachelle is amazing! I look forward to following the newest season. The only gripe I have (and it comes from a place of love): Please for the love of all things good and holy, get an audio engineer. The sound quality when listening in the car is unbearable, and makes it (almost) completely unlistenable. I’ll turn the volume WAY up to hear the host and more often than not, the guest is borderline obnoxious and insanely loud, and will chime in before I have time to turn it down, in turn brutally assaulting my ear drums. I’ve listened to all seasons of the show and you guys are wonderful story tellers. Please consider getting an audio engineer!

I am absolutely loving Rachelle the new host!

This review has nothing to do with either of the hosts - I think they both did/ and do well in their own ways, more dropping this review to ask like…..what HAPPENED TO ALL THE JUICY STORIES FROM SEASON ONE? banger after banger, between the one about all the bridesmaid drama to the family of men who all collectively cheated on their spouses except for the one brother who walked away from the family, like CRAZY stories of drama. Where did those ones go? Did they pivot away from those stories cause there was heartbreak and infidelity involved? Don’t get me wrong some of these episodes in later seasons have been fabulous, I especially enjoyed the corgi caper one. But Im just putting out a feeler to confirm if I’m the only one that thinks the gossip just….hasn’t been as wild or dramatic as it has been in like the first maybe second season as well. The stories feel a little tame sometimes. Anyone else? I still love the show and enjoy the format in which the material is presented and I know they are going off of listener submissions so they can’t all be that crazy. This question has just been eating away at me to write for 2 years now and I finally worked up the courage to write it! Please don’t rip me a new one! I love the show a lot!

The amount of jaw drops, cackles, and weird smiles I do listening to this show over the years is wild. I love it. Thank you for a peaceful transition of power and a beautiful new era of NG.

The new host is hitting her stride, the last couple of episodes have been great looking forward to more!

I don’t normally write reviews, but Rachel is killing it as our new host. I’ve listened to the show from the beginning and, when I heard Kelsey was leaving, I was like, “should I just unsubscribe now?” because I just knew they would try to make a new Kelsey and it wouldn’t work and nothing would ever be the same again (deep breaths). Thankfully I decided to give the new season a listen and I am blown away by Rachel (because I need my gossip). I think someone said it in another review, but she reminds me of all the best parts of Kelsey (she is a great story teller) but has her own unique personality and style that is engaging, brilliant, and hilarious. I was literally laughing out loud while listening on headphones while grocery shopping. Made me want to turn to the questioning stares of my fellow shoppers and be like, “oh girl you would not believe what I just heard.” So, yeah, you go girl.

Interesting to see people make up their minds about this season so quickly. Truth be told, minds were made up since the season 7 finale, so it’s not really a surprise. Not me though! I’m enjoying the storytelling, the FUN, the laughs, the gasps. It’s been a fun ride and I can’t wait to see where this season goes. Great job, everyone! Onward and upward.

I’m enjoying Rachelle as host so much! Her personality is super fun and she brings her own special magic and it’s great.

Rachel has this.I had some minor worries only b/c I didn't like all the "in-between chatter episodes" a little much telling me how great it will be vs showing me. No matter - now that the stories are here, the "goods are delivered" and the structure is there, it's back to Normal Gossip Normal, which BTW is Standard Podcast Excellent.

The new host is awesome! Could not disagree more with the low rates. I liked the previous host, but she made annoying sounds and talked in an exaggerated, fake happy voice that would sometimes be irritating to me. I liked the content enough to listen then but always found the previous host too scripted sounding. New host is way more genuine and calming to listen to. Huge improvement to the listening experience to a fun pod!

Okay I’ve been listening since the beginning and I loved Kelsey. I was really upset when she announced her departure and was worried about the new host. I’ll admit I went in with a terrible attitude about the change. Let me just say I was wrong. The new host reminds me of Kelsey in all of the best ways while adding a new perspective that I feel was missing before. I love her voice I love her outlook I love her methods of storytelling. Really happy with the new change and while I do miss Kelsey still, I’m loving the change!

This show used to be really great. The host has a great voice and a cool spirit, but the show really fell off. She needs some support. It’s just a lot of nonsensical chatter plus there’s a lot of hate. I had to unsubscribe.

I loved the show with Kelsey and still love the show with Rachel. The vibes overall are extremely similar and the stories are still great. I look forward to the episodes every week!

I really don’t care for the new format of the show. The storytelling just isn’t as good as it was previously. I hope the new host and producer can find their rhythm and bring some of the original energy back.

I used to love this show, but now that Kelsy has moved on I find it painful to listen to. And why is there so much erroneous cursing? I listen to hear the gossip and the great stories, not someones’ potty mouth!

As a late comer and oldest-to-newest listener, I was dreading when the host switch because of all the awful comments. I got there today and totally disagree! I think she’s great, and I enjoyed the premier of season 8. All the hate is unwarranted!

Get a cup of coffee and curl up on a rainy day to listen to this fun podcast. Super fun engaging listen.

Kelsey needs to return. The voice of the new host and the constant commentary about “white people” behavior has ruined this show. This was my favourite, but no longer.

I’ve been a listener since the beginning and love this podcast so much. It’s definitely top 3 for me. When the Kelsey announced her departure I was nervous the show would change and I wouldn’t love it anymore. I didn’t enjoy the bonus episode but told myself…. Let’s wait until the season starts. Well I was pleasantly surprised that the show followed the same format and I enjoyed the first episode. Hopefully the rest of this season is just as good.

i'm tired of seeing such hateful comments so i'm here to add some love. I am loving our new host and so excited to see where her and her team takes it. 🫶🏽 the most recent episode had me CACKLING. and a quick ps - everyone tripped up about the ONE bonus episode not being in standard format is absurd bc it's a "bonus" ie "different from the standard script" episode. the new season kicked off incredibly with the standard format so let's chill on that. also, to folks who claim that ng IS kelsey...that is an illusion. it's WHAT kelsey DID, along with so many other creative folks, and now she and others have moved on. it's called life.

Long time listener and will admit to having worries about how the show would change with a new host, but Rachel is a perfect choice! Love love love!

I'm going to try to give this season a chance, but the whole situation is sad. Normal Gossip was what it was because of Kelsey. The new host seems nice, but it's very hard for me to listen to a new voice and lisps are extremely triggering. This was my absolute favorite podcast that I recommended to everyone & it's not the same anymore.

Over the years it was definitely not as good as it was in the beginning but without Kelsey I am so sad and also confused?? She was so cute and bubbly and silly and also her voice is perfect for podcast. They should have searched harder for that replacement. Not anyone can do that and it feels like a slap in the face to all those who have been here since the beginning. Ugh

Fun chit chat and elaborate story telling with twists and turns. Love the new and old hosts and all the guests and submissions… collaborative effort!

I love this podcasts, and disagree with the recent 1 star reviews (honestly, half of them are just baselessly mean! Shut up lol). We haven’t have a new episode in awhile though - please keep them coming!

My god I don’t understand these negative reviews. I too was so sad to see Kelsey go, I will miss her. But I’m also loving Rachelle! They’re obviously different people so the podcast will sound different. But I’m looking forward to hearing her more. I’ll be listening and rooting for you Rachelle!!

Transitions are hard! I hate change! BUT, Rachelle seems cool. It’s almost impossible to step into the spot of a beloved host, and the learning curve is basically vertical for a popular podcast, so high fives to her for keeping the gossip flowing!

Normal Gossip was a personal brand for Kelsey. She may not have seen it that way but it was. You cannot just take a personal brand and hand it over to someone else and expect everything to be fine. That’s not how it works. Kelsey WAS Normal Gossip. It was a personal brand. I don’t hate Rachel by any means. The comments about her are mean. So far I’m not vibing with her but I did love her as a guest. It’s not about her though. It’s that this was a personal brand and you cannot hand a personal brand over to someone else. I’ve been trying to give it a shot but it’s just not working so far. So sad I lost my all time favorite podcast ever.

In the words of host Kelsey, this podcast is a little treat, a morsel. I’ve recommended it to so many people. Thank you for normalizing an extremely naturally and deliciously satisfying activity: gossip.

There’s been a few brutal one- or two-star reviews lately, so I’m here to throw a five-star one into the mix. Overall, Normal Gossip is a great podcast in spite of a few lousy episodes here and there. Rachelle seemed really friendly and engaging in her first episode so maybe let’s not Panic! at the Podcast just yet? New season kicks off in April. Give her a chance, folks.

I loved this podcast before they turned it over to Rachel. I heard Rachel on another podcast and couldn’t stand her. Taking this pod from someone so bubbly and happy to someone with a voice that turns people off or is just plain boring makes me extremely sad. I won’t be listening anymore. Too bad, it was great.

This podcast started off as something original punchy and fun but has become a weird self congratulatory love fest with boring stories that are flat or hard to follow.

I think unfortunately I’m done with this podcast. It’s been 30 minutes and the story still hasn’t started. Just some random and go about a non-gossip story regarding a coat, and a couple random statements from people online? I’m not gonna keep fast forwarding to get to the actual content. I’m sorry, but this is my last listen. Very disappointing, used to love this show.

This felt like being at a dinner with two people who work together talking about work inside jokes :( it was hard to follow and a lot of giggling. Bummed out because this was such a great podcast, and the new host seems amazing but missed the mark with this.

I was a rabid Normal Gossip fan for the first few seasons. Recommended it to family and friends. Listened the moment a new episode was released. Loved it. I expected some changes when Kelsey announced her departure, but could not have anticipated that the show would veer so dramatically. I’m sure it’s super challenging to step into a role and podcast established by another entertainer, but the new format feels like being stuck in a room overhearing a disjointed conversation between strangers. The storytelling component feels lost. Hope they can support the new host in getting NG back to what it once was.
