BHNinerThe host knows more about music than Andrew Hickey and Matt Pinfield combined!!!This dude’s dives are so deep that your mind will implode every time you listen to the show. Become a Patreon subscriber because the Soldiers of Sound podcasts you get are worth it. Writing about podcasts is like dancing about architecture. So you’re just gonna have to check it out for yourself. If. You. Dare.

dtobocYou’ve found itThe most comprehensive music podcast out there and it's wet-your-pants funny too. A complete treasure. I have rekindled my love for countless legacy bands through Discograffiti’s deep dives and have found new obsessions too. This podcast has made me a die-hard Roxy Music and Todd Rundgren through their in-depth analysis and emotional quests to find substance in the music we know and love. It’s more than a podcast, it’s a way of life. I’d give host Dave and Discograffiti six stars if I could.

Foggy EyesThis podcast is ABSOLUTELY NUTS in the best way possibleIf you’re a STONE COLD MUSIC FREAK, you need to listen to this podcast. Dave G. is super curious and knowledgeable. He gets very cool guests on here and they talk about the nerdiest and coolest and most obscure (and sometimes popular!) stuff. If you’re the generous kind, you can support him on Patreon to help the podcast out. Dude is a lifer for sure and absolutely deserves some good karma. Thanks for the great podcast, DG! Keep on truckin’!

Ricky KronbergMusic Geek HeavenThis podcast is not for casual music listeners. But if you are a true music geek, this is just about perfect. The host comes across as an obsessive fan who happens to know his stuff (about everything from the Mamas and Papas to the Minutemen) and genuinely connects with the guests.

CDonWineMusic Fans! This is the best way to deep dive into some amazing music!

ZKanaThis is more than another disposable podcast, it’s a mission. On the surface, this seems like some loud dude telling you what he thinks about whatever band, but sticking around and listening more intently reveals so much more. There is no single genre so if one episode seems not to your taste then don’t worry, the focus will shift radically within a few more. And isn’t that how most people listen to music anyway? Well, maybe not. Some people listen to the same things over and over for decades after they first listen to them in their teens. But this podcast isn’t for those people and that’s ok. This is for the people who want to celebrate the past but also the future. For those who want to hear ALL the music with FOMO on some of the truly great creative expression life has to offer. Dude quit his job to pursue the dream of doing this FOR YOU. If this podcast doesn’t speak to you after one episode, then listen to at least 10 more. If you still don’t get it then re-evaluate your priorities in life. You’re doing it wrong. Don’t worry, we are all capable of change. And Dave Gebroe is here to help in this noble goal.

MikewhitemusicBest music nerd podcast everI love the way they go over each artists entire discography.
-
Charger '91True to their wordThe show promises a deep dive into the music and art of their guests and that’s what they deliver. I prefer the older format to the newer one, but it’s still worth listening to for the interesting insights from the interviews. I just miss hearing Kennedy on the show regularly. The series with John Landis was fantastic and a great listen. Check it out. :)

Modernist09I listen in spite of the host. The host is loud and arrogant, and continually talks over his guests. He also spends a quarter of the episode dry begging for money. Some really cool topics, and great guests - unbearable host.
-
BiliunasAmazing showWhile you will get deep dives into the bands everyone knows, you also get deep dives into the bands everyone should know, but doesn’t. It takes balls to jump from Pink Floyd to The Olivia Tremor Control to Van Halen to Vashti Bunyan. Do yourself a favor, and give a listen.
-
MjgnjDiscograffitiI have been waiting for a podcast like this for 30 years! To get the insight and amazing info about the best bands and individuals in R& R history is just amazing! I am hooked! Keep them coming!

Dr. HipNo breathing allowedThe host made, and stated out loud, the poor choice of excessively editing any dead air or spoken pauses of the podcast guests. The same treatment seems to not have been applied to the host. Despite a short list of impressive guests taking long form interviews, the net effect is an exhausting, breathless, and unnatural listening experience. It is maddening considering the potential promise of the content. But it is hard to take more than a few moments of the host’s interruptions or the guest’s’ exhausting artificial manner of speech. I’d much rather listen to an unedited interview. Even a sped up listen to other long form interviews is far better.

lizkc1121Makes me want to make art!So much knowledge, so many awesome guests, tons of wild anecdotes. Dave’s genuine, passionate appreciation for all kinds of music makes this podcast a total gem. It’s a time commitment but I always finish an episode in the mood to listen deeply to new music and create art of my own.

wesley thomas johnsonRecent DiscoveryI love David Pajo but the host was incredibly annoying.
-
dsomers74They Know EverythingThe purely definitive objective assessment of the modern musical arts. All else is conjecture.

The SpeakersI LOVE THIS PODCASTIt’s literally the most ideal podcast ever created. They go DEEP. I love occasionally pausing and listening to their recommended songs, listening with fresh ears, then coming back again. Highly recommended. 5 out of 5 stars :)

VorrasiAGreat Podcast!I stumbled upon these guys while looking for a deep dive into Cocteau Twins. Enjoyed the whole podcast and the thoughts and opinions shared. Can’t wait to listen to more from these two! Bonus: they have wonderful, easy to listen to voices.
-
Wanbli GleskaInteresting- why him? This guy is so arrogant. AS if they haven’t been thousands of better podcasts doing this for years. He doesn’t even listen to podcasts - so obvious

uncleb67Discovered with Pavement Series…AMAZINGHad been following this podcast but haven’t really bit off the commitment to listening as the concept kinda confused/intimidated me for some reason. The Pavement Discography with Bob Nastanovich series (of which I’m currently listening to #5 right now, first four already down) blew those fears outta my mind. This a great podcast and host David is thorough and fair in his assessment of the catalog of Pavement (which I’m sure goes for all the other discographies he’s already tackled). Unlike so many podcasts where the host is busy buttering up the guest(s) because they were happy to get a return e-mail, Dave can be a contrarian but forgiving, respectful, and understanding. I’ll be working my way back through the series.
-
CyclepGreat content, Needs to Shorten IntroSeriously, the intro is an overblown 5 minutes. I have to skip it every time. Other than that, this is a great concept and I enjoy it.
-
CheesePizza420A Truly Embarrassing ListenGuy doing an ostensibly private press record podcast who found out what private press records were last year. I feel bad for Paul Major and worse for my ears.
-
RickHall26This is the best music podcast out thereYou’d think there would be so many incredible music podcasts to choose from. Well, you’d be wrong. There are precisely none. Well, actually…make that ONE. Discograffiti is fun, funny, and informative, the playlists are just killer, every week there’s a new episode, no matter what. The band selections are inspired, the guests are all top-shelf, and I look forward to listening to every single episode for as long as as this show runs. What an amazing show, Dave: Keep up the great work! ❤️❤️❤️

davpel1Don’t Waste Your TimeThis podcast deserves two stars, one for subject matter and the other for co-host Joe Kennedy. The main host, Dave Gebroe, is a mostly ignorant bore with terrible taste, truckloads of misinformation and a penchant for constantly interrupting his much more knowledgable guests. Gebroe renders what could be an interesting discussion unlistenable.

WILMUSEOne of THEE best music podcasts extant!I’m a professional musician/composer/producer and uber-music nerd. I’ve got dozens of instruments and thousands of records, music books and magazines - much to my kids’ college fund’s chagrin. I’m also a music journalist. Let me say that Discograffiti is pretty much tailor-made for folks like me. Kindred spirits Dave and Joe do a bang-up job every week, and it is an absolute pleasure to hear these men - and their sometimes guests - geek out on music. Rock forth, gents - looking forward to future episodes, as always!
-
Stevo RunsExcellent new podcastThese guys do an in depth and fascinating commentary on some of the greatest bands out there. Really insightful, honest, and entertaining. Great listening for my runs and drives!
