So if you’re stuck in traffic, bored at work—wherever you are, listen to History Daily to remind yourself that something incredible happened to make that day historic.

    TWA 847 correction
Robert Stethem was a United States Navy SeaBee diver; Steelworker Second Class (SW2). He was assigned to Underwater Construction Team ONE in Little Creek, VA. Stethem was honorarily promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer in 2010. The guided missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG-63) carries his namesake.

    Ads bringing amazing podcast down.
LOVE this podcast. I find it interesting and love the host’s delivery. The amount of ads and ad breaks is really bringing it down. For example, today’s podcast has 16 mins of content and 6 mins of ads, with 2-3 breaks in the middle of a short podcast.

    Lean pretty left but interesting
The show and host definitely lean pretty far left. The episode about the tranny singer has led me to believe they are running out of actual historical events to talk about. I found the podcast interesting for a while but I’m quickly losing interest

    Doesn’t cite the sources
Sorry, but as a history lover, I have found mistakes in his work. I made the mistake of advising Mr. Graham of the need transparency because after I advised him on twitter (before it was ruined with X) and he blocked me. He seems to have thin skin. Hopefully he will be better and research better and stop dramatizing these wonderful historic events.

    Ads Added Ads
I love all of Lindsay’s work. This podcast is no different. Quality stories with super interesting context. Along with his classic voice. Love it. Unfortunately whoever is in charge of his ads are ruining this venture. When the episode is only 15 minutes long and you have 6 minutes of ads, it makes the podcast difficult to recommend.

The best of times…the worst of times.
History Daily captures the best and worst of the evolving podcast genres: Intriguing, useful information in an over produced format devoid of personality. Add to that the practice of loading up a podcast with ads, just to promote, “Listen Ad Free.” I listen ad free…it’s called, “Fast Forward.”

    Favorite pod
Love the pod! Just a heads up about the Bin Laden episode; “Special Forces” means Green Berets.

One big ad with a story in between
This started out good but half of it is ads now.

    Average history podcast
I enjoy this podcast but with 2.5 minutes of commercials at the beginning and another 2.5 minutes every 5 minutes after that causes the podcast to be disjointed. I like the stories and lessons but way too many commercials.

    Where are his sources?
This dude has terrible grammar (try looking up the word agog) and he gives odd first hand accts of things he couldn’t know. Why does he not cite his sources? Plus, the anti Catholicism gets old. It’s an easy target and he takes advantage of his hatred of the Church.

    Tacky ad reads
Imagine being a grown adult man cashing a check for mocking a child you know nothing about, whose parents are already embarrassing them on the internet instead of actually parenting them. I’ve unsubscribed so I don’t have to cringe one more time. You should be embarrassed.

That was the last straw for me.

    Hale-Bop confirmation
I can confirm the episode does loop. My son and I listen to these episodes together, and we thought given that it was the April 1 lease. It was going to end as an April fools joke. In my episode, they never got out of the boat.

    Great for driving to work
I listen to this podcast when I am heading into work, which is about a forty five minute drive. It helps me learn new things and also is a good listen. I highly recommend it. Also, your April 1st episode was great. I was listening to it at work, and as it started to repeat itself, at first, I was getting confused, but then it started to repeat the same sentence again, and my thoughts were “ This has to be an April Fool’s gag. However, honestly, maybe place a quick note at the end saying as much.
  • Heads Up FYI
    Love it but
Your Hale Bopp episode is messed up and keeps repeating itself. Just a heads up.

    April 1
The April 1st podcast is either all jacked up or a really bad April Fools Day joke.

Hale Bop Comet was a mess
Did anyone review this podcast episode? The same stuff kept repeating and very poor sound quality.

    Overall good
I’m knocking off two stars because I think it could be more impartial with more information. I’ve noticed it before and it was very obvious in the Typhoid Mary and PT Barnum episodes, but the writers are overly sympathetic or romantic in their language when they should just be presenting the facts. There should be no embellishments, the addition of someone’s personal feelings, or grandiose language. The podcast on Mary made me incredibly angry as it focused very much on her forced isolation but didn’t really mention the deaths she caused nor that typhoid was spread because her feces was in the food she was preparing. Sure she wasn’t initially to blame, but once she was told and continued the same behavior she became a murderer, and lifetime confinement became more than appropriate. Barnum was even worse. He made a fortune off the backs of people like Joice Heth who didn’t fit into society, he wasn’t some great man. Then you attribute the fall of circus’s entirely to movies while ignoring their animal welfare issues which drove away a lot of people. Modern society isn’t in such desperate need of “entertainment” that they have to bring their kids to watch elephants be tortured. Then there’s the fact that the circus hasn’t evolved to fit with the modern idea of entertainment. You can’t have just one show playing on repeat for 100+ years with a few tweaks every now and then and expect people not to get bored of it.

This episode is not correct….just keeps repeating the same minute over again

    Too many ads
10 min of content. 20 min of ads. Insane ratio.

    SO MANY ADS
21 Minute podcast. 11 minutes of story. Production and information is good but completely ruined by half of the space being taken up by ads. I don’t care if they want to make money but Christ include some more information if you need to run that many ads. Can’t listen
  • TheWarthog
    It’s great when it plays
But that’s the rub. It freezes up and renders “episode unavailable” more than all of my other podcasts combined. Also, take it for what it is. 15-20 minute intro into what are often complicated and nuanced events. Teasers so to speak. There’s no way to fit the details into the short format and a lot is missed in the summary.

Too Woke? Not Woke Enough!!! 😃
Lindsey’s shows are easy listening, almost like “rain sounds” for history nerds. Also appreciate that not every episode is about gruesome wars, senseless violence, and terrible moments in history. My favorite episodes are the ones that highlight literature, inventions, exploration, and moments when humanity was a little less focused on mistreating one another. That’s just one woke, pacifist’s opinion though 😉 Keep up the great work team!
  • atleagle81
    Should be more neutral
It’s obvious now that this is just a liberal podcast. Also, the host should learn how to pronounce words. I’ve never heard edisto, sc pronounced like he did.

Great story and all but way to many ads

    Too many ads.
Fun fact stories but way too many ad breaks and way too many ads in each break. It’s just not fun to listen to any more.

    Selective History Daily …
… is a better title. I read This Day In History daily. Much better coverage of what occurred each day on History. Too woke.
  • pdub5446
    Good storyteller
Mr Graham does a good job, with a great musical score and high production values. The show would be five stars but most days of late he produces stories that are about Progressive Democrat talking points. I don’t think I should be able to know how he or the writers voted in the last election when retelling history. I also think he maybe biased against Catholics.

    Was an daily listener
I used used to listen daily. The show has become skipping ads and repeating episodes. The latest episode with the lone gunman theory ended it for me.

Was a great podcast until the explicit rating was applied
I love this podcast, but I have children who use my phone and thus, I have a filter for explicit on my phone… personally, I could do without the bad words myself. I won’t change the explicit filter on my end… So I won’t be listening to this podcast anymore. Bummer!
  • JJ's fikdbejec
    Sub par show
The show has started to recycle episodes and we get less and less new episodes. Host has started to take every controversial event from a left leaning tilt. Now his Saturday matinee starts off with a rant about how he's lost respect for law enforcement and the "system". How about just giving us history in an entertaining way like you started. Currently looking for an alternative.

    Good but repetitive
I had paid for a subscription for a couple of months until after listening to many episodes, I have noticed that a lot of episodes are just repeats. The same goes for Short History. It no longer made sense for me to pay for a subscription for repeat episodes.
  • hugefan1976
    Wonderful storytelling
Graham and the writers use effective storytelling techniques and compelling narration. Ignore the complainers. They are usually people we’d rather ignore anyway.

    Enjoyable, but repetitive
Enjoyable, snack-sized daily history bites to feed your brain. I especially enjoy learning about monumental US history events, but I also enjoy the thoroughness of daily worldwide history too. Unfortunately, after more than a year of listening, I’ve notice they repeat many episodes. Surely more than one event worth mentioning happened each day of the year. I understand some big things, eg Pearl Harbor, are well known on the day, but how many times are you going to make us listen to it? Did nothing else happen that day?

I wish there was an alternative
It is a fantastic idea for a podcast and I wish someone would execute it better. Each episode consists of barely-relevant point of view of an average person involved in the historic event that takes up about 50 percent of the episode. I say “barely-relevant”, because sometimes it’s so forced and really doesn’t add as much as the narrator’s dramatic emphasis would suggest. Another 30 percent is advertisements and the final 20 percent are a quick summary of the actual historic event. Often times I see the episode only has a minute left and some of the most important aspects are squished into a quick sentence or two at the end.
  • emilyadriana1
    Interesting stories
I have enjoyed listening since this podcast began, particularly the more unknown events that are fun to learn about. The narration is well done. My main complaint is that so many episodes are reused now, because I love to hear new stories every day like in the first year of the podcast

    Have to pay?
Was a great way to listen to history but now not able to listen any longer cause have to pay for a podcast subscription which is too bad that I have to delete all of his podcasts now for this reason.

    Captivating Story Telling on History
Loving this podcast that I caught onto shortly after The History This Week podcast was put on pause. Lindsay Graham has a very catchy voice and compelling way of telling you about a historical moment. The background music also pulls you into the event. There are ads, but I understand if they have to run them so as to keep the podcast going. This podcast has been a must-listen for me because of the way history is told and I’m learning about moments like never before.

    Ruined by Ads
This podcast used to be a really good source for short, interesting bits of history. It would run for an average of 12 - 15 minutes with a short ad or two in each episode. But then they decided to squeez in ad breaks of 3 or 4 ads every 5 minutes or so. It's an obnoxious amount of ads that has completely sucked the joy of listening to new episodes. I've held on for a few months, hoping they would reverse course, but nothing has changed.

Love the podcast, disappointed by ad choices
Avid listener of History Daily and other Noiser podcasts. Disappointed that the podcasts are sponsored by Israeli propagandists.
