All the Financial Info You Didn’t Want to Look Up
Let’s be honest. No one wants to spend the time doing this, but it’s beneficial and sometimes critical to know. Sit back, listen and let this podcast share its money wisdom.

    Hack the Ads
I listen to and have listened to so many podcasts in the past 10 years. This is one of only two that I just can’t stick with due to the frequency and duration of the ads. Just unsubscribed for the 2nd time after giving it a year off. :/ Too bad. Great content otherwise.

    Disappointed
I listened to the disappointing rent vs buy podcast in this series. The analysis lacked perspective, often referring to its 30 year cash flow analysis. 50 years would have been better, capturing the financial advantage of not having to pay for housing in retirement. Retirement is the period of life when financial goals change from wealth accumulation to income generation and generally try to reduce expenses and take less risk. Owing your own home during this period is actually comforting while effectively serving as an inexpensive long term care insurance plan. The discussion of all the financial blows mentioned that renters avoid by not having to pay taxes, maintain their homes, etc., was particularly naïve. Owners of rental properties also incur all these costs. They have to pay taxes, have to pay homeowners association fees, have to pay to maintain their homes, and those costs are reflected in rising rental rates. In addition, owners of rental properties want to make a profit. That profit is included in rental rates. Therefore people who rent homes not only pay all the costs that they would have to pay during home ownership, but they also have to pay someone else’s profit. One can assume that the owner of the rental property is investing in rental property in favor of investing in the stock market because they believe that they can make a better long-term return. In short, the podcast lacked perspective and was overall disappointing in its failure to provide complete long-term analysis. Try again!

Out of touch, arrogant, and inaccurate advice
The host is a guy whose arrogance and pretension is audible in his voice. He has a nanny (sorry, maybe an au pair), and seems like a “born on third base, thinks he hit a triple” type of person. The advice is for rich people. The advice is inaccurate and full of generalities (see the one on renting vs buying, it ignores the entire Midwest and other non-coastal markets, it also ignores appreciation). This isn’t “hacks,” it’s an ignorant advertorial. Skip it.

    Sooooooooo much ads
The first one I listened to was with the frequent miler which was great so I explored. The rest is soooo full of ads, non stop, 20+ per episode, unsubscribed

    Inspirational
I love listening to this podcast while working out. It makes me feel like I can take on the world. Most podcasts like this just give you things to think about, this one gives you ideas for actionable changes you can make or ways to think to propel you forward. Even when I don’t think I’m interested in the content of a particular episode I seem to always find something useful in it.

    Episode with Frequent Miler
Loved this episode as this is my weakest spot - finding award redemptions
  • UrsaBait
    Littered with sponsored segments
About every 10 minutes of content there is 2-3 minutes of sponsored ads. I can’t handle it.

    Some feedback
Hey Chris, this show is great but the one thing that prevents me from fully getting into this show is that your voice constantly sounds like it’s reading an ad - like even when you provide insightful insight, it sounds like an ad read! I listened to an interview of you in someone else’s podcast and you sounded so much more natural and personable and less robotic!
  • DrewSchenck
    Insightful
I love how insightful this is. I learned so much and really enjoy listening to Chris’s insights.

    All the hacks should be….
All the ads. Some fun content to listen to, but man who needs to hear that many ads?

    Think it’s time to leave
I have listened to well over 100 of these episodes starting from #1. I used to get value from them, but in the past few months they have changed. Many of the episodes now heavily weigh toward the following criteria…..people with high net worth, people in the top 1% of earnings and people obsessed with points to the level of getting a great deal over a great experience. This doesn’t fit 99% of the world. This episode is focused on people who can afford $10-20 thousand a year for a virtual assistant. I listen to many podcasts and this one has many more advertisements (excuse me, I mean “partners”) than most. Fortunately, the unfollow option is only a click away.
  • Mkayfofofofo
    Incredibly helpful!
I thought I knew a lot about hacks and points, but I’m learning SO MUCH from this show! It’s so authentic, the conversations feel like real conversations, and I love the mailbag episodes and that the host actually listens to listener feedback (and will directly answer questions)! I recommend it to anyone who will listen.

    Great tips and tactics
I started listening to this podcast for credit card and travel hacks - which it’s great for - but it’s become so much more. Chris brings consistently high-quality content featuring engaging interviews that share a wealth of useful information that you can deploy in your own life. One thing I love about Chris’s interviewing style is that he often asks questions of his guests that I’m thinking of as I’m listening! I’ve recommended this podcast to several friends and they all love it.

    Proceed with Caution
This podcast is incredibly interesting and provides great hacks for things like cheaper travel, more energy-efficient homes, and managing time. Episode 150 gave me pause, however, due to some of the statements surrounding health. I am a physician and am more than willing to admit we are not perfect (nor is our medical system), but we have received an incredible amount of training on risk assessment and the approach to ordering and interpreting medical tests and using dietary supplements. Pursuing tests like full-body MRIs without a clear medical indication are not only expensive but may also result in a huge amount of unnecessary anxiety. My best advice is to find a provider you trust and feel comfortable questioning. If you are unsure about something, press it further or find a provider than can give you a better explanation on their thinking.

Kind of a poor man’s Choose FI
Has some decent content, but the number of ads buried in the pod makes it almost unlistenable. Often hard to tell where the show ends and ads begin.
  • MelS92
    Product pusher
I was a big fan of the podcast in the past but I’ve noticed a huge shift when this became his FT job. I feel some episodes are geared to just pushing products for companies that are partners with the show. Almost like the episode is just one giant, well produced commercial.

    Tons of Useful Information
This is a great podcast with different topics covered in each episode. I always get a valuable takeaway from each one, and although the info comes at you fast and furious, you can go to links in the show notes or on the website to get the particulars later. Really good information to improve aspects of your life!

    Learning so much!
All The Hacks has become my favorite podcast since I discovered it a few months ago! I have binged so many episodes and learned so many new life hacks (big and small) and new ways of thinking that I’ve already started applying to my life. The guests Chris features are top-notch and I love the breadth of different topics and ideas that each guest brings to the table. Highly recommend if you care about making your life more enjoyable, energized, and efficient.

    Well-structured deep dives on optimization
As something approaching a “die hard optimizer,” I appreciate Chris’s thorough approach to the full range of topics he covers on All the Hacks. Chris will help you thoughtfully examine your life and improve your systems. This goes double for the travel hacking advice. In the 18 or so months since I started seriously playing the points and miles game, I’ve booked more than $115,000 worth of travel, with healthy stashes of points and miles still available to book more adventures. A good portion of the inspiration that led to this exciting new hobby is thanks to All the Hacks. Thanks for the good work!

Almost 500,000pts Earned in 3 Months!
I just started Travel Hacking three months ago, found this podcast, listened to the majority of episodes from the very beginning until now, and have already earned almost half a million travel points (Which I’ve already redeemed for two free trips). Thanks Chris for quickly becoming one of my favorite podcasts! Whether you’re travel hacking or into other hacks, you’ll love this show!

    All the hucksters
Podcast seems like an obvious scheme to make money for the creators and lure in gullible people to fund his lifestyle. Membership to go Iceland…give me a break.

    Episode 104 Saved me $15,854 a year
Episode 104 pointed me in a direction that cut my insurance policies in half (and with better coverage). And I use to sell insurance. Amazing. No matter how much you think you know about a topic All The Hacks is fantastically additive. Love this show. Feels like I better go back and listen to the ones I’ve missed to see where else I can be saving money and optimizing my life. Thanks so much for this podcast.
  • Jeff 104
    Thanks
I’ve taken way too long to review All The Hacks as I was trying to find the right words to capture how valuable it is. I haven’t figured it out. But I owe Chris a long overdue 5 Star review at least. I found All The Hacks looking for new travel points/miles perspectives. But Chris has delivered something I didn’t know I was looking for. The diversity of topics is wide and yet for a certain type of person like me (or Chris) no podcast topic ever feels like it doesn’t belong under this All The Hacks umbrella. Chris has found a way to channel his curiosity with life, his humility, and his drive to learn into something very unique. Thanks Chris.

    Ummmm okay
Usually this show is really good but I’m so tired of people that were basically spoon feed tell someone that makes 60k they shouldn’t moonlight or work multiple jobs because it’s bad for the owner of the business… try being poor. So wild to constantly hear about people leaving their 6 figures or more jobs to take a “risk” gag me.
  • Lkp3353
    Very interesting
Great podcast. Also, I really enjoyed your new musings episode a lot. The quick hit topics kept it entertaining and were useful.
