Danielle asks the questions you wish you could ask the experts. The topics are insightful and really make you stop and think. As I listened to the Impostor Syndrome episode, I realized how deeply rooted this is for me. The conversation made me feel seen and made me realize I have a lot of work to do in this area. I was also left with additional questions. That’s how you know you’ve found a GREAT podcast, you’re left want big more.

I was so disheartened that, while listening to an episode on “heart-centered living”, heard two women giggle about our current world and how critical “choice” is. Whaaa? We all know what that refers to, and I just can’t listen to women talk about this.

Just found this podcast and it’s brought so much value to my life. Danielle is amazing as an interviewer.

Danielle is more than a question-asker. She’s a personable, relatable LISTENER . She’s not afraid to admit she’s striving to be a better person, admit her perceived short-comings (I.E. saying no more often) while encouraging her listeners to look inside themselves and improve along with her. Now she’s breaking silence on egg freezing. She’s outspoken without being preachy. I root for her and she’s right on a lot of things, I.e. “today is a great day to have a great day!”

Danielle explores topics that mean something to me and she keeps it entertaining. Her angle of “pretty _____” certainly connects to my evolving experiences as an educator, mom, wife, athlete, etc. Always feel like her show topics are great conversation starters with friends and colleagues and it’s an easy listen for my long walks.

Discovered Danielle after she was a guest on Financial Feminist, and this has rapidly become one of my indispensable weekly listens. Her conversational style and choice of guests is unique, I always find myself learning something new!

I’ve been enjoying the topics that address women in leadership. Can I offer that women in military leadership are often overlooked. Women in the military offer a unique perspective on leadership. We have similar challenges and some specialized ones. We also have a strong sense of purpose that is not just “break things and kill people” as is often myopically attributed to military leaders. I would love to hear military leaders represented and given the chance to share lessons learned. I’ll leave you with Sen Tammy Duckworth and Lt Gen (ret) Michelle D Johnson as examples and interesting case studies. Thanks for the podcast! It’s an uplifting way to spend an hour!

Danielle is a gem of an interviewer. She is prepared with clear and poignant questions, but ones that stem from her genuine desire to know the guest and tell a story for listeners. Each episode I am left feeling content and open-minded and intellectually intrigued. Danielle inspires me as a listener to be more like her in my interactions with strangers and friends. In 50 minutes, Danielle is able to tell a story that flows and ultimately captures the full essence of a person with all of their layers. She has a way of making the guest feel truly seen I think while also sharing her own curiosity and bits of her own self along the way.

I’ve been enjoying listening to these while driving! Always have something great to take away from the conversations had on Pretty Smart.
