    The best podcast ever!
Literally my favorite podcast to study Chinese as a lower intermediate level. Topics are interesting, speed is at a great pace and the website is great. In the future, I hope they can add comprehension questions to test your reading and listening skills. Best podcast ever!!!!

    Great preparation for real life!
Maomi chinese is maybe the best listening tool I’ve found so far, especially for an intermediate speaker. Selection of interesting topics helps prepare listeners for real-life, rather than creating a school-like environment. And there is a really good balance of the difficulty level: the slightly slow and clear pronunciation helps intermediate listeners, whereas the lack of over-explaining and the inclusion of passages from real-life chinese speakers makes it more useful for advanced speakers. Keep up the great work!

    Amazing
Having lived in Taiwan for 7 years, you would think my listening skills should be decent. Nope. And to compound things, after moving back to my home country and spending a year without practice, my listening was in shambles. 怎麼辦!? Well, after taking the past month and a half to complete all 138 episodes of your podcast, my listening is better than it ever was while living in Taipei. It's insane. Now I'm going through your series again at 1.25x speed, and it's startling how much easier it is to understand your content as compared with the first time. All I did was enjoy engaging stories while stuck in traffic! From one teacher to another, I enjoy your attention to reusing grammar and vocabulary across your series, as well as your decision to vary the difficulty from episode to episode. You're a fantastic educator, and this is the most effective listening resource for learners stuck in an intermediate plateau. It's a lot of work, but I hope producing Maomi Chinese continues to bring you joy for many years to come.

    Great for High Beginner
I know about 1000 words, and can have very basic conversations. This podcast is perfect. She speaks slow enough to understand, and uses just enough English for comprehension. The time (usually 7-8 minutes) is also perfect for quick and repetitive practice! This is now my go to podcast.

    Thorough, interesting, and helpful!
Thank you so much for making this podcast! I feel that Molly is a very clear, thorough teacher. The podcast has a variety of interesting topics, and it is quite helpful how she ties in words that may be unfamiliar but not too much at once. This is my favorite Chinese learning podcast that I have listened to.

    Perfect intermediate material
I agree with so many other reviewers, this podcast is perfect for the intermediate Mandarin learner! It is very difficult to find good listening material at this level, it seems most Mandarin material is for the very beginner or advanced student. Her content is interesting, her speaking speed is just right and the length of the podcasts is great too. Thank you Maomi Chinese! Please keep making these podcast for all of us. 😊

    Fantastic for Intermediate learners
It is incredibly difficult to find suitable intermediate Chinese learning materials and this podcast is absolutely perfect! I really appreciate the transcripts in both English and 汉子 on the Maomi website. Thank you Maomi Chinese for this valuable resource!

Very good podcast for intermediate Chinese learner
I have been following your podcast for 3-4 months now. I know Chinese in an intermediate level(HSK level 3-4) but I’m in the states now so I rarely have a chance to practice my Chinese. My work is pretty busy so I usually listen to your podcast when I drive back home. I love that your content is very up-to-date and there is always an interesting topic e.g. the latest episode which is the interview from people talking about President Xi. Also, You have a very attractive voice. I really like that :) (plus your British accent which is my own preference lol) I’m glad that I found your podcast and this amazing content to learn Chinese :) Ps. It took me quite a while to figure out how to leave the review (probably longer than writing the review lol)

    So helpful!!
I just learned about this podcast and am so glad I did! It’s perfect for my level - early-intermediate, HSK3. Molly speaks slowly and clearly, almost entirely in Chinese, with occasional English translations of less familiar words or phrases. The podcasts are short - mostly 5-10 minutes - and I like listening to them several times, as a way of building up my comprehension to close to 100%. Plus there are transcripts available!

    Great for language immersion
This is a great option if you want to incorporate more Mandarin listening into your daily life but don’t have Mandarin-speaking friends or acquaintances to rely on. I listen on my daily commute. The topics are interesting and Molly does a great job of identifying lesser-known vocabulary for the listener, slowly repeating the word, and giving the English translation. The episodes are usually fairly short but very well composed. I am still a fairly new learner, now at the university 300 level (advanced beginner? Not sure of HSK equivalent). I don’t understand about 80% of the content but I still enjoy picking out the words and phrases I recognize, and I believe the listening immersion will help with my pronunciation and tones recognition over time. There is also the addition of FREE transcripts in both Mandarin and English on the website, and that makes this podcast so phenomenal to get the chance to follow up and see how much I understood vs how much I missed. Thank you Molly for a great resource, I look forward to new content and hope I will improve enough to one day understand an entire episode.
