    Interesting podcast
I often don’t exactly agree with these guys and sometimes my personal lack of a quality traditional education means that I once in a while I don’t understand them, but I do like this podcast. It absolutely pulls me way out of the echo chambers of what normally surrounds me. I enjoy listening to these guys. Side note, one of them uses the word “yo” in an interesting way. After a while it actually becomes comforting hearing yo somehow. I’ve not been listening for too long, but so far it’s a really good podcast.

    Adore high brow raised Adorno
I love Adorno’s hate and really respect. I’ve not heard a single academic my age or younger who aren’t annoyed by this high minded curmudgeon because they know he’d look askance at anything we do, but it’s just this judgmentalism I love. I don’t agree always with his assessments but it’s for that very reason we especially, in our era, need JUST this kind of naysaying.

    insightful
i’ve always wondered what rich kids who aren’t masculine enough to be frat bros are like.

    Terrific podcast
Very engaging even if you have not read the books being talked about. Even if you only have some sympathy with the left, cut by a lot of skepticism.

    I feel sorry
For the one lady on this.

    Like…
Incredibly challenging hearing the word like, as a filler word, so often. In fact I wanted to listen to this podcast but can not.

    Smart, incisive, funny
You don’t have to be a leftest or Marxist to get a lot out of this podcast. These are some of the smartest, close-reading young scholars I’ve ever heard. I disagree with them fairly often and precisely for that reason I find this a valuable listen. If I had these kinds of peers when I was in my twenties and thirties, I would have stayed in academia. They make it enlightening (even for an anti-enlightenment thinker) and fun. Follow and support!

    Absolutely essential
I’m not sure how I would have articulated this before listening to the pod, but I left academia behind because the abstract pessimism of thinkers like Foucault and Derrida seemed to have no application to the social justice movement work and political projects I became interested in. But in this terminal interregnum we find ourselves in, I’ve been hungry for new ways of perceiving what’s possible and advancing my critical analysis. I’ve found this pod to be absolutely essential in that regard!

    Charming
I have very little background and I’m mostly autodidacticized!! I’m sure i don’t get much of this but i do find the conversation charming. I love the “yo’s” and Lily, and the insider philosophy fun. I’d happily pick up the tab to hang out with them.

    Very good
I have more than my share of quibbles, but this is such a fun and informative way to engage with a whole range of ideas, thinkers, and movements. Keep it up!

    Very good analysis and discussion
I was impressed by the episode on Frantz fanon’s “black skin white masks”. I hope the other episodes are as thoughtful. Hard to come by these days. There isn’t a bunch of mindless debates and talks about social media (🤢🤮)

    Just great. Really great.
There are seemingly a lot of philosphy podcasts out there. This one really nails that sweet spot where you can feel like you are sitting with a small group of the brightest philosophy grad students or profs, and they are totally willing to let you listen in as they discuss every strange and interesting philosopher in the catalogue, in a relaxed and comfortable way. Took something more employable as an undergrad and missed out on your intellectual development? Fine, rectify the situation. This is part of the solution!

    For real
The one guy says “yo” so much…I just couldn’t do much. Good topics covered in the usual official institutional tone and lexicon. Lots of concept and name dropping, but they’re on some of the right topics. Just can’t get past the yo-yos

learning so much! Lillian is the best, such valuable insights all the time

A very strange mix of three men and one very talkative, very opinionated woman. Why do the men find everything she says so brilliant, so funny that it sends them into hysterical peals of laughter? Not to focus only on Lillian but she’s the most theory-bound, jargon-filled, dogmatic leftist I have ever come across. And her use of the term “causal mechanism” is reminiscent of right-wing neoclassical economists from the University of Chicago. How does a Marxian & Marxist have such a fetish with mechanisms?

    (~˘▾˘)~ truly a joy to behold ~(˘▾˘~)
this delightful and dynamic panel of voices provide an accessible, yet thorough, leftist discourse on philosophical materials. also, refreshingly, not 2-5 white dudes sucking the life and joy out of conversations about thought and socialism.. ¯\_( ☭_☭)_/¯ and i think that’s nice. ⊂ .മ◡മ. ⊃

    Awesome
This show is amazing. Would super strongly recommend it to anyone with a curiosity to understand what are the ideas that shape our minds and our world today. Incredibly insightful and entertaining to listen to, super engaging and complete

    Love it
Full admission: I have to listen to each episode twice to feel like I’ve captured maybe 50% of the points being made as a noob to philosophy - and I’m slowly learning / but every episode is interesting and amusing. Necessary to read the content or about topics being discussed to get full context but that’s what makes it so fascinating.

    The best - slight caveat
If you’re into philosophy and consider yourself a member of the left, there’s no better group of folks—witty, charming, deeply thoughtful—to enlighten you and bring new perspectives in that arena. One thing that could be really helpful is *posting the texts themselves* so listeners can read along. Solidarity

    Learning a lot
As someone who has some philosophical background but not so much in the leftist tradition I have really enjoyed learning more through this podcast! Would recommend for sure

    Fun, Engaging, and Insightful
This podcast is great. As someone who is very interested in social and political philosophies, but not well versed in them, I love being able to learn from the hosts’ thoughtful explications, criticisms, and collaborative insights.

    You Love to See It
A fun podcast made by people who actually enjoy each other’s company that also manages to provide thoughtful and approachable discussions of major figures from the history of philosophy? This is that! And it is great at being that. Highly recommended.
