Who Shat On The Floor At My Wedding? And Other Crimes

Comedy #63

Who Shat On The Floor At My Wedding? was a question shared by brides Helen McLaughlin and Karen Whitehouse after they tied the knot on 11 August, 2018 on a boat in Amsterdam. It was a question that launched a podcast, which led to the hiring of unqualified detective Lauren Kilby, the purchase of a €99 lie detector, and the bothering of some of the world’s best forensic experts - all in an attempt to find out “poo dunnit”.

For season 2, the investigative trio is back with a brand new mystery set in Sweden (Scandi Noir if you will) called The Case Of The Tiny Suit/Case. They now live by the phrase “when the cops say no, we say yes”. This season explores a serial act of reverse theft: a tiny three piece corduroy suit and a suitcase containing threatening items were planted on the victim’s veranda in the middle of nowhere. Our forensic experts are also back on board, not because they want to be, but because we asked really really nicely, (and Karen can be unnervingly persuasive).

One of the most novel, groundbreaking true crime shows ever done
There being a season two is honestly one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. I didn’t even realize how much I missed the podcast of elite criminal investigators. Although, if I’m being honest, I think I’m going to be really disappointed if they do solve the crime this season. And beyond tickled at the professors involvement too. What a gem!

    Hilarious!!!
Love the show! It’s beyond funny and I just can’t wait for another episode. Keep them coming!

    It gets boring
There could have been half as many episodes as their were. It gets repetitive and tedious. And there’s no resolution. I wish I didn’t waste 13 hours of my life.

    Incredible
Obsessed with this podcast. It’s hilarious, and I’m on the edge of my seat for each new episode!

    No other podcast like it
There’s quite literally no other podcast like this. Any podcast to claim to be one of those “you didn’t know you needed this” or “true crime meets comedy” doesnt realize they’re falling short of this podcast. And by comedy I mean it’s comedic that the perpetrators believe they can get away from this elite group of investigators.

Who Doesn’t Love a True Crime?
This show is amazing! I was tired of listening to murder and couldn’t find something to fill the void. Then a friend told me to listen to this and I LOVE it!!! Thank you ladies for the best podcast in a long time!

    Funny but drawn out
First, this podcast can be downright hilarious. The hosts have great chemistry, and their approach to the central mystery is fun. My complaint is that the first season is way too drawn out. It could’ve been wrapped up in eight episodes. By the time they were at the zoo comparing animal poop, it felt like they were really filling time. If they can condense the seasons more, it would help the momentum a lot.

    10/10
This show is amazing. You know, poop jokes aren’t my favorite kind of jokes, but they’re a strong number 2.

    A meme brought me here
I discovered this show from a meme. 10/10, no notes and dear god did I start laughing immediately.

Great Theme, but Dragged Out WAY Too Long
This started off hilariously and could have easily wrapped up in about 6 episodes, but it dragged on for 13 episodes, half of which felt like "filler" and repetition due to lack of content. By episode 8 it becomes a bit tedious, repeating the same details over and over again. I almost stopped listening after the zoo and submarines episodes but I persevered, all for naught. How mahy times did they really need interview Henk with the exact same questions over and over again? I wonder if the hosts were contractually obligated to do a specific number of episodes? Or, did they assume that the mystery would actually be solved during the course of the podcas. SPOILER, it isn't. They tried to fill the later episodes with repetitive content in hopes for a Grand Finale that never came. The finale itself is a total dud, chock full of goofy sound bites and audio FX that attempt to distract listeners from the lack of content. Too bad, I really did enjoy it for the first half.

Sooo funny and Henk is 😍
Henk is soo cute haha! How he’s like “I love my girlfriend, I’d wipe her butt” haha so cute. Team Henk forever. Also this podcast is so funny, I can’t get anything done while listening to it bc I’m laughing too hard!!

    So hilarious
Love this so so much. I listened with my coworker at work and we both laughed out loud in our respective cubes! Can’t wait for season 2!!

Please give us a Season 2
The showrunners should solicit outrageous true “crime” mysteries from listeners, pick the best one, and investigate for Season 2. It frankly reminds me of something me and my girlfriends would do to have a laugh that just went too far - except in a good way. Honestly well done! This is the kind of entertaining and ridiculous podcast we he heneed in a world where it’s too easy to be consumed by the heavy and the stressful.

    Ridiculous in the best way
So funny and outrageous. Laughing out loud each episode

I think it is hunk or entertainer and can’t wait to finish the pod and find out our pooping pooper
  • Good Reveiw Right

I haven’t finished the podcast yet but I think it’s the entertainer or Hank

    A very funny ride
This was a well executed concept with some great laughs along the way, but way too much time was spent on the ridiculous submarine and zoo theories. Like, a memorable amount of time. Should’ve been cut instead of dragging out the middle episodes.
  • i <3 you
    A++
I love a gritty crime drama, and boy oh boy did Detective Lauren deliver. This is true crime reporting of the highest caliber. Not a stone left unturned in the pursuit of justice. We can only hope that one day the poopetrator can be caught. Well done.

    Ho Hum
If you’re reading this review before you start the series, know that no culprit is ever found. Knowing this I quit listening halfway through episode six and unsubscribed. Same lame, jokes over and over.

This show is truly a delight. So funny and entertaining. The accents are a bonus! I wish we found out who done it…maybe we can have a season 2 someday!
  • mmsurvivorfan
    Repetitive
I hate the detective she keeps making the same joke over and over again.
  • mysolareclipse
    Hilarious, hard-hitting investigative journalism
Detective Lauren is a treasure — she gets grittiest details from her interviews and all the laughs from me. Each episode with the detective and fantastic brides is a delightful journey that keeps you at the edge of your seat!

Very funny podcast. A nice distraction from doom scrolling

    Just Plain Funny
Even though we don’t find out who did it, it was more about the laughs we had along the way. Also, their accents make it funnier to me. I could listen to them talk about anything (clearly). Jealous of this friend group, seems like such a fun time!

    Nearly perfect
This show made me giggle. That’s not easy. I love the personalities and the friendships these people have. Its delightful to hear them laugh together. I did feel it became a little repetitive at the end - and I was disappointed to have it end without resolution (I avoid cold cases and mysteries). Even so, it was worth the listen. Thanks for the joy!
  • stellinecuisine
    Stupid, outrageous, hilarious pod
Such a nice antidote to the current times. My money’s on Hank. He’s the poopetrator for sure.

The first time you have seen a cat with the tail
The first time the first time was a few days after
  • sparkyrock
    Drawn out with no payoff
I’ve never felt the need to review a podcast until I had the misfortune of finding this one via some list online of “must listen” podcasts. What started out as something fun and interesting quickly turned into something drawn out and boring. It got repetitive and just sounded like an attention grab. This could have been shortened by a few hours and gotten the same point across. The hosts were ok to listen to though, no complaints with inflection, etc.

Can you make an update episode where you read the bad reviews? 😂😂😂
  • karmapo9
    Delightful however
You keep calling him the perpetrator when I wish you’d say poopitrator instead. Missed opportunity.

    Listen while rage cleaning
If you need to laugh while you clean the dried piss of no fewer than 3 degenerate guys off your bathroom floor I recommend this podcast

12/10, will listen again and again and again
I’m eight episodes in and am in a constant state of childish giggling. The interviews, interrogations, and explorations are so amusing. This is tomfoolery of the highest order and everything I never knew I needed in my life.

Hilarious! I’ve been very depressed with current events and this has been a gift to laugh and forget about real life for a while

    Top tier
    I haven’t listened to a podcast this funny since My Dad Wrote a P- - - -. A masterpiece.
  • chauvinist????
    Ad nauseam
Started out funny, but the same ‘joke’ over multiple episodes grew tiring and redundant.
  • KED528
    Strong start, falls flat
The first few episodes were funny and intriguing, but it quickly starts going in circles and grasps at straws. No conclusion either, which is a shame. Should’ve been way shorter — 13 episodes without a definitive ending is, dare I say, criminal.
  • Hvski7
    It’s a cold case y’all
13 episodes with a finale episode clocking in at almost 2 hours and there is no resolution.
  • CarterCatt98
    Love it!
One of my favorite podcasts Two Girls One Ghost mentioned you guys and I’m so glad I listened to their recommendation because this is a really funny podcast! 😂

    Perfect Podcast
Excellent show. Perfect length. Leaves you wanting more. I would listen to this crew “investigate” anything! I loved every episode so much!!!
  • AwesomeSnorlax79 YT
    Meandering nonsense
Honestly, I’m invested in the mystery and I’m going to listen until the culprit is revealed, but these people are terribly disrespectful to the audience. As they knowingly waste their time (going to the zoo to look at animal poop?) they’re knowingly wasting our time.this might work if the hosts were comic geniuses who knew how to tell a story …
  • Dee Cea
    An Absolute Brown Gem
I cannot recommend this podcast enough! The perfect length to get invested, without being long enough to lose focus. I pass this podcast along to friends who don’t typically listen to podcasts, bcuz of how accesible it is. Fantastic humor, and relatable personalities.
  • BrandiHandful
    Listen and laugh.
It’s utterly dumb, and so much fun!
