First I am thankful for this podcast for turning me onto The Institute for Automotive business excellence, and guidance with our shop. I do love this podcast and what the basis of it is about. I find Lucas to be very knowledgeable and I love their choices of guest and what they contribute. As a shop owner I am however limited on time and get frustrated listening to David derail something I am interested in learning from Lucas or the guest. It then turns into a personal conversation about topics not concerning the automotive industry. I try to spend my time in the car learning something about business but today I spent 25 minutes in the car listening to David complain about the GUEST being a people person. This is not time for David’s therapy session, and I find it disrespectful and a waste of time for the guest of show.

I stumbled upon this podcast while researching for a class I teach. As an Automotive Technician and Community College Instructor, this podcast gets it. The automotive industry is more advanced than the general public realizes. Great information and resources. I binged so many episodes in the last week. Episode 156 started playing after my advisory commitee meeting where we discussed the topic covered here. I am sharing this with them in the morning.

By far the best podcast I’ve listened to About car mechanics and Owning a business. Thanks so much you guys for pouring into the industry the way that you do and as a small business owner and technician just starting out I have hope for the industry. I love cars and am passionate about the industry.

You might as well just start watching The View because it’s mostly just cackling back and forth with no actual business talk for a majority of the podcast, their new branding/format after the name change initially seemed to make some sense, but now their topics of focus don’t seem to be very related, unless you want to sit through an hour (in some cases) of them not talking about the actual title of the podcast you’re listing to. When I first found the original ASOG podcast it seemed helpful and as a business owner I attempted to join their main ASOG Facebook and was declined for unknown reasons which wasn’t my first indication that some of these guys are more ego driven than supportive to this industry which WAS their claimed focus they seemed to be trying to contribute to after listening to previous podcasts... There has been some good content, but it’s really not worth the scrolling ahead to attempt to find it, anymore.

If you’re a shop owner who has never looked for outside help, this is the place to start. Easy to listen and implement something from every single episode.

I heard about your podcast from the ASP podcast I’m a 55 year old Working ASE Master tech in Texas. I own a small shop. I’m 6ft About 280lb +\-. I carry appendix a Glock 17 to the right spare mag/Tq to the left of my belly button every day all day. My weapon is always in reach & under control I’ll listen to more podcast the one with Mike & Don is my first

David & Lucus are what all shop owners should be like, independent or a new vehicle dealership! This industry needs to WAKE up fast! As a technician whom is very jaded, and working for a GM dealer that does everything wrong, these guys make me wish their shops were here in sw Florida. Amazing job guys, keep it up!

I have to say this is one of the best podcasts out there. I have listened to every episode. The podcast is very, very informative, funny and relevant to the automotive industry. Everyone should listen to it, even if you’re not a shop owner.
