This is a phenomenal podcast that is being ruined by random sound effects (phone text messages, etc) because the hosts can’t seem to put their phones on silent. Seriously, is this high school? Put your phones on silent when you are recording. Nobody wants to hear a random loud DING that is 2-3x the volume of the voices on the show. Please up your production quality.

Started listening a few days ago and I have already listened to 43 episodes haha. Great show

They do a pretty good job breaking down acquisition opportunities based on strictly publicly available information. At times, they've said some silly things or fundamentally don't understand a business, but haven't we all? My biggest issue is that the Girdley dude takes up too much of the air time, and Heather in particular needs to speak more as she's the most experienced and qualified of the bunch. Also, the Girdley guy needs to calm down with his obsession over different generations. He over generalizes and pontificates over the dumbest things he attributes to a couple year difference in when one was born. He's a generational astrologist and it's insufferable. However, I still recommend the podcast, but listener beware.

Girdley, Mills, and Bill do an excellent job breaking down the key elements to look for in acquiring a small business by bringing their years of invaluable wisdom garnered through actually acquiring and running their own businesses all with the perfect amount of wit and humor.

You need to clarify why us Texans are dumb. Maybe you can teach us something instead.

Mike, Bill, and I forgot the name of the other guy (haha), are all great. It’s the only podcast I tune into weekly now. It’s incredibly entertaining because they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it’s very informative. I’m learning things that are helping me prep my company to one day be acquired. Keep it up gents! All the way from El Paso - the forgotten city of Texas.

These guys bring valuable insights into smb investing/deals, but in a very entertaining way. I have gotten a lot out of regularly listening to Mike, Bill, and Mills. Must listen stuff if you are new to SMB investing. Even if you are not new, it’s highly entertaining to hear their thoughts on whichever deal they bring on the show each week.

I’ve been a listener and supporter since practically the first episode and I always will be. If you’re a fan of acquiring companies, selling companies, or just curious about the topic, this is your podcast. The hosts are the right combo of knowledgeable and humble, and they bring their unique experiences to every deal the look at. It’s a fun mix of casual, real-life people talking about serious business deals.

If you own or run a company this is a great podcast. Bite sized evaluations of businesses for sale. I usually learn something and if nothing else you get a sense of the market and how to consider valuation. But most importantly I always get a few laughs.

As someone who works in the deal business, this is always fun to listen to - I look forward to new episodes coming out, and often, I learn a new way of thinking about businesses. Entertaining and informative. Really strikes a chord for a business nerd like me.

I seriously have actually looked at five or more businesses before they appeared on this pod, and the guys gave me a lot of very good reasons to stay away. I’ve started to learn where the pitfalls are to buying a business, and occasionally, when there’s a fit. Valuable, insightful knowledge here. Thanks, guys! I’m here for every episode. Wish I could run my deal ideas by you. Might save myself a lot of heartache!

I came across this podcast since I’d been following girdley on twitter for a while. This show is extremely helpful for those looking to acquire businesses and navigate the m&a process. These guys are pros at this stuff and know what they’re doing but also make things fun. Usually focused on small businesses but walk through everything from financing to staffing, marketing, etc very helpful

Like having a few experienced investors over for coffee and chatting about deals. Business schools would charge big money for this content…

A lot of high quality info about how to think about evaluating business value in this show. Hosts are also quite funny. I am convinced someone from this group is a “friend of Bill’s.” You will know what that means if you’re one of us. Makes the humor that much better.

Met Mills and Bill recently and eagerly looked up this podcast. It did not disappoint. Episodes start with deal terms and then the team the works through their thoughts, concerns, ways it could work and improve, ways it could fail, macro trends ie head or tail winds, competition, customers, moats, industry views…and all while keeping it super entertaining. For acquirers that are early in their journey, I would highly recommend you start with this podcast before going out to make your acquisition and for experienced acquirers I would highly recommend you use this podcast to sharpen your investment decisions.

I’ve been listening to Acquisitions Anonymous since nearly the beginning and I highly recommend it. It’s entertaining to listen to, and it’s like getting free consulting from 3 experienced acquirers as they point out the pros and cons of small businesses listed for sale. If you’re in the market to buy a small business, you definitely need to listen to this podcast.

I have a lower middle market private equity background and this podcast gives great insights into the pros and cons of various types of small business types. The hosts do an amazing job of dissecting each deal and the various considerations involved in a potential acquisition. Highly recommend for anyone interested in small business acquisition.
