    This pair is on fire. They are kind, comforting, and inspiring. They answered an email from me in approximately 15 minutes. I find it amazing, even though I am a medium-distance, aspiring marathon/ultra marathoner, with a chronic pain condition to manage. Benefits may include preventing the emotional bonk.

    I look forward to the new podcast every Tuesday and the Patreon podcasts on Friday. David and Dr. Megan Roche provide the chance to learn about sport science and human potential and make it fun with their side commentary. The combo of the two of them is kind of like what Bill Nye is for the science world - taking complicated training science subjects and making them fun and applicable.

    It took me several listens to get used to how fast these two talk, but in the end I can’t help but love their honesty, their humor, their intelligence and the topics they visit in this podcast. I don’t think everyone will love or understand this podcast, but I encourage you to give it a try, you will laugh a lot and learn a lot.

    Love this podcast! David and Megan’s banter is top notch. They inspire, love, and uplift all things. The research they do is very helpful for my training and they present it in a way that I can understand. I never used to look forward to Tuesdays, but now I can’t wait for them.

    I always wonder if the people walking or running the opposite direction wonder what I’m listening to when I’m laughing to myself listening. I can be unmotivated or tired or hitting a wall and boom David Roche makes me laugh. I hope someday I see him at mile x when I want to quit. I wish I had 1/10 of his uplifting silly spirit ❤️ where are the links to all the great research though ??

    I have listened to each and every episode since its inception. These two are brilliant. They impart such a breadth of information while joking the whole way through. If you have a question, these two actually respond! I adore them, and they adore one another. Their banter is priceless. Their relationship is enviable. Love Each Other (Leo!). I could go on and on…. This is a don’t miss can’t miss situation. HUZZZAH!

    Seriously love this podcast. I say best running podcast but it’s actually my favorite podcast. David and Megan, both great runners in their own right, are coaches to some of the best runners in the world so in other words, they know their stuff. The podcast is a great mix of running news, recent science studies applicable to runners and tons of funny moments. One thing that sets this podcast apart is how authentic and real David and Megan are. They’re just so positive and uplifting to everyone and listening to this podcast really brightens up my week. Tuesday is officially Some Work, All Play podcast day. Keep up the great work!

    Overall I like this podcast. This review is specific to the latest episode (4/9/24). David had a story to tell about his accident, but Megan totally dominated that conversation and it became more about her and less about David’s experience. Take a breath every once in a while Megan, and let David share his story.

    I very rarely write reviews for podcasts and rarely enjoy podcasts outside of the interview format, but David & Megan are special and listening to their show is equal parts informative, entertaining, and encouraging. Obviously you’re going to get a lot out of it if you’re a runner, but other athletes, science nerds, and people that enjoy a good dose of positivity in their day would all enjoy this delightful show. Huzzah!

    Exhilarating
    I’ve been meaning to write in many times and love your dynamic of joking around while addressing relevant ideas, concepts, even issues in sport. (1) goes back to fish food episode, and I wanted to let Meghan know that my wife’s service dog has a heart arrhythmia and was put on a heart med and GNC’s triple strength fish oil taking 3 at breakfast for the last year and upon annual checkup couldn’t detect the arrhythmia. She is still on the med and supplement but I take fish oil, turmeric and collagen for joint health as a runner. And notice a difference if I dont take my Vital Proteins collagen (20g) in awhile, it’s flavorless and I put in right in my coffee with breakfast. (2) I think I had something else to share, but definitely interested in more info on RED-S as someone with a history of anorexia, amenorrhea, and “treated” with the pill (birth control) vs Nutrition and seeing 1 nutritionist before one that was helpful, who was telling me things to avoid vs help my relationship with food, like I’m already avoiding so if you take away my limited diet this could be really bad. (3) listening to black cannons recap on my run today (had COVID last week so I’m behind) and wanted to mention a new hydration, well I think is new, with The Feed , for salty sweaters: Mortal Hydration with 950mg sodium!!

    I always save this Tuesday podcast for my long run later in the week. Can’t get enough of the fun, funny, smart, caring, positive, authentic Megan and David. It’s the best.

    I’ve learned & laughed more from this show than just about any pod I’ve ever listened to. Megan & David are incredibly knowledgeable and positioned as top coaches in the professional running scene. The random wisdom they drop on any given episode is profound. I wake up every Tuesday counting down the minutes until the new episode drops.

    Just the right mix
    Of head and heart, information and reflection. This is the top of my actual-time-listening list of podcasts by a mile (4 minute mile, that is). I especially love the unabashed positivity coming from two smarty pants who could easily get lost in critique and negativity. But no! This is all love and support (but not in a dumb way) and I couldn’t be more thankful. Huzzah, Roches! Huzzah!!!

    Pros: focus on research occasionally Cons: style of conversation not easy to listen to Also, please get to know a city before criticizing it so harshly. If you think Orlando is just highways and theme parks, you know not much about the area. There are plenty of runners in Florida and we like it for different reasons. The humidity was actually pretty low this past weekend. Let’s see what the weather is like in Paris! You have to meet the conditions of race day after all. It’s the United States of America btw, not the United State of Colorado.

    They’re smart and there’s lots of good info. That being said, it’s awkward to listen to them hit on each other or describe how they’re touching one another under the table.

    I really like the podcast. So informational and motivational. My only qualm is that I have to listen to it at 0.75x speed. Seems like the speed it up because I listened to Megan on other podcasts and she talks way slower?

    Fun, funny, and informative
    My favorite podcast. One of the only podcasts over an hour I routinely finish right away. Great for beginners and experienced runners. And even non-runners!

    I love listening to these podcasts. My only problem is that rather than playing them at regular speed or fast(you’ve alluded to this) I fear that I need them in slo-mo so I can have enough time to absorb all the juicy information! Maybe I’m just slow…🙄Huzzah!

    Love this podcast, it always accompanies me on my weekend long run. David and Megan are so fun and super inspiring to listen to as a new ultra runner. They bring lots of laughs as well as a good deal of science backed content to the podcast. Every episode is a little different; it is nice to see variety across the episodes. Definitely worth a listen!

I listen while working, cooking, running, and whatever else I’m doing. The knowledge gained through this podcast helped me achieve my first 100 miler this year so big thanks to these folks! WOOHOO!

    I’ve been a listener since the podcast first began!! What a loser I am for not posting a review sooner. It’s been amazing to watch how David and Megan have grown this into the uplifting, food loving, science brained community that it is. I get so much emotional and fact driven value from each episode. LOVE the sexy science and that I can count on them to keep me updated with all things endurance science.

    Megan and David are a swirl of love and science just like a perfect soft serve cone. They live what they know and believe and coach with incredible openness. I chose to support them on Patreon because their podcast consistently educates and uplifts me twice a week on training runs. Possibly the most cutting edge science available for trail running. Their speedy, unbridled positivity and uncensored opinions (with plenty of gross jokes) is not for everyone, but I would encourage a new listener to hear them out for at least three sessions before forming an opinion. One of those should be #83, which was a continual revelation. Wonderful pod!
