I’ve been listening a long time
Dude!! Bad Actor was such a great episode. Adding to the list of great episodes. We all have saboteurs inside of us Jack. Stay out of yourself.

    Dude! I love your show!
Jack Luna…. Cool name…. Excellent podcast! Your an amazing storyteller. I’m a fan!

    No B.S type enjoyable podcast
I love the way jack presents the stories and gives his off the cuff remarks. He really puts it out there in a time when it seems so many are succumbing to p.c culture. I feel if you need to be protected or listen to these topics with kid gloves on maybe true crime content isn’t for you. This podcast has heart and guts. Such a great podcast.

    Magnificent
Sword and Scale led me to you, you led me to Deadbug, just to name a few. Many thanks to all of you, not only for the impressive and inspiring work you produce as individuals, but also for the incredible collaborative work. I also VERY much enjoy the Dark Fiction episodes. It is difficult for me to find good horror books, I feel like its usually the endings that disappoint. So listening to your disturbing creations is a gasp of fresh air.

    What happened?
Something awful because your podcast is so not what it used to be. Unfortunately.

    Lame
Paywall and lack of free content is atrocious.

Jack is average, but real at least
I say meh to his cast. Plus his $10/month is overpriced for the content. I mean, we all empathize with your fight with alcoholism, but everyone has a story. I feel like you started this for money, and not the craft.

I love you Jack Luna!! You are truly talented beyond words. Thank you for doing all you do, it may be dark but it puts some light in my day.

    On the mark
Being a bit of a deadbug fan I listened to that episode first. That was quite the episode good stories and funny as any podcast out there if you’re into the dark stuff. But after listening to other episodes I had to double check that Jack Luna wasn’t another deadbug production and an alter ego of his. The music in the beginning the sounds effects and the story telling are exactly the same. But like I said I’m a deadbug fan so no complaints here. Story on Dark Topic.

    More Deadbug & Jack
Please we need more It makes my job bearable. Before this I wanted to jump out into traffic by 10:00am at work and when I gave a new episode I knew I can make it another day

A HUGE FAN OF MR LUNA!!
I’ve been a fan of Jacks forever! If you’re a newcomer and haven’t followed him in the past, then don’t leave him a one star rating! Seriously. Love him for who is, for his storytelling, his down to earth approach that his true fans love. No one here cares to hear all your 8itchin’! Go listen to something else.

Jack Luna is still the best, haters!
He is amazing at this, and you know it. Go cry about it somewhere else. Nobody cares.

    5 stars
Jack Luna is my all time favorite pod caster, he is a brilliant writer, imaginative, with the raspy smoking voice, puts me in a calming space:) always 5 stars.

    “I hope she’s happy”
Gut-wrenching and heart-breaking are an understatement. I was already in tears before I heard you breakdown. Listening to breakdown too was really rough. Thank you for sharing this story. It should go without saying, but hopefully this story can help parents who are in an abusive relationship with each other see how horrifying and lifetime traumatizing it is for them. Love you Luna!🖤

    THE BEST!
I LOVE Jack Luna and his content. Fantastic writer. His storytelling is always so raw and compelling and he is one of the most honest true crime podcasters I’ve listened to, especially when it comes to his own personal experiences. There isnt much left of that in the world. I’ve followed him from show to show for years and don’t plan on stopping. We love you Jack! ❤️❤️
  • You g th idk come
It literally won’t let me cancel my subscription
    I hate you

    Deadbug Jack combo
I love it! The banter is brilliant! I love when deadbug makes Jack belly laugh! When he belly laughs, I belly laugh. It’s smart, funny, inappropriate, and very dark, and that is my favorite thing. The odor of the mentally challenged….unbelievably funny.

That episode broke me. You are an amazing writer/story teller. Seriously

Jack Luna is incredible! can't get enough!!
I've been listening for some years now, almost since the beginning, and I love DT and really any and all of Jack Lunas content. Jack, you are incredibly talented and genuine and I appreciate the work you do so much!! THIS IS WHAT TRUE CRIME SHOULD BE, not those other watered down, poser, copy cat podcasts. Please never stop creating content and talking to your listeners, so much respect and love! love ya Jack!

I don’t know how you do it..
Bring back monstruo! bring back monstruo! That was great content!

    Phenomenal
I love your writing and story telling. You have created the perfect recipe for an outstanding podcast. The way you seamlessly blend your killer writing style, choice of cases, humor, compassion, sarcasm, vulnerability, rawness, and honesty are unmatched. Dark Topic is a treasure. ****Gore was a lot. I took your advice and took a break during the episode. I thought I was desensitized to most of this by now, and I was quite shocked that I felt the need to take a break and listen to something mindless. It was the mom and daughter and the trees. I felt compelled to finish it, however, the following day. I kept thinking about the way you explained your struggle during the process…researching, writing, and then reading it….thinking about what all those women went through…how sheltered is my life that I can’t even bear to just listen? Anyway, I love your show. Thank you!

Keep Your Resolutions Strong Mr. Luna
Jack, Leaving you 5 stars, you said on Patreon you didn’t mind bad reviews because you knew 5 stars were right around the corner. Well, here you go. I found you a long time ago when I got into podcasts and I couldn’t believe how terrible yours was! I hated your pacing/ voice/ storytelling/ and made assumptions about your personality that weren’t correct. I’m a huge of Deadbug fan and followed his Patreon for more content and started listening to Tales from the bottom down. I didn’t know why he was doing collabs with you. It took me about 5 episodes to realize you were worth checking into further. You got me hooked brother! You’re nice, thoughtful, funny, a good father, stick to your own thoughts and opinions, and much more than I can include here. Your voice grew on me, and your storytelling has developed nicely. I can tell you put a lot of effort in. You earned yourself a lifelong fan, looking forward to more Dark topics and Brutal episodes. 🫡 Ps. You got me into Kent as well, also warming up to Leroy. Way to put the fam on

Wish there were more stars !!
Gore is a great episode !!! Give us more episodes with these disturbing details !! Don’t apologize!! It’s what we’re here for bud !!! Keep it coming.

Birdcage bizarre w/ Leroy… cautionary tale
Just listened to the birdcage bizarre episode… word of advice… I’ve been a nurse for more than 25 years and many of them in the operating room… please leave the phallic shaped fruits/veggies out of the bedroom. One of my first cases in the operating room was an extraction of a summer squash from the rectal cavity. It had gotten “sucked up” with the vacuum pressure of repeatedly thrusting into the rectal cavity, and after many hours of waiting to figure out that this retrieval wasn’t going to happen organically, then getting the “balls” (male patient) to go to the ER, and the time it takes to go from there to the operating room… well, needless to say, at a slow simmer of 98.6• Fahrenheit over the course of 6+ hrs, the retrieval was… messy. Cooked would be an understatement… add butter and salt? (Did I say I was a nurse for 25+ years? Ya, I’m gross) So… word of advice to avoid this uncomfortable situation for ALL involved… please leave the organic food items in the kitchen and only take chocolate syrup or whipped cream to the bedroom.

Can’t believe I haven’t left a review sooner. You are good. Creative. Please keep up the good work.

Always come back to this podcast
Quit listening for awhile because I wasn’t a fan of the drunken rambling and I don’t like 2 person podcasting ( the chit chat , not my thing). When JL is on his game he’s really great . Original, thoughtful, memorable coverage of true crime.

    Can’t say enough!
I love Dark Topic especially the way Jack Luna writes about very dark people. I’m glad he has his own Patreon. He does some additional shows with Mr. Kent Chungas who helps Jack with throwing in humor when discussing horrendous acts by disturbed killers. But I still prefer Mr. Luna solo. And if you haven’t checked out 3 seasons of Monstrou yet you’re missing out on a very different way to “see” a killer. His 2 accomplices have successful podcasts of their own. Together they were great, but the public can be squeamish and so 3 seasons is all we got. Jack Luna is bright and brings his observations and opinions about life, good, and evil to intro Dark Topic. He’s genuine, authentic and tells it as he sees it. You might agree or not but you just might come away from an episode with insights… possibly about yourself or the world around you. Definitely give a listen; I’m sure if you are interested in true crime or true crazy you’ll most likely to join him on Patreon.

    Brilliant story telling.
Thank you for your very personal memoirs and brilliant puns and quips. I enjoy your podcast. Highly recommend, but give caution because some of these stories are not for the faint of heart. The walrus was brilliant! I like the sober version it suits you.
  • MorganOrton
    Brilliant writing and storytelling
Discovered this podcast after discovering Marooned (am a follower of the other host and fell in love with the duo and their dynamic there.) Dark Topic is chilling but there’s a lot of heart behind it. It’s written beautifully, I got chills multiple times listening to the recent Walrus episode. Doesn’t shy away from the gruesome and tragic facts of the case, but really brings the victims and their family to the forefront. Does a nice job at highlighting or introducing details to the story that are heartbreaking and relatable. Thank you for all your work on these!

Master of the Art of storytelling
Jack is a master of his craft. His storytelling is captivating not just because he’s telling you something that really happened, but also because intertwined with it are profound thoughts on human nature. Don’t change a thing, Jack.

    Great episode
Here is this episode’s review! I highly recommend this podcast for anybody who enjoys true crime podcasts told with a unique rebel like tone, while still remaining respectful to the victims, and Jack has the best voice in podcasting. Check out his other podcast Marooned, it is excellent as well, with riveting stories without so much murder.
  • Zac S-
    Jack.
Just listened to your last podcast and I don’t know what crack listeners are smoking, but you haven’t changed. I enjoy your style of storytelling and the no filter approach. Continue being your authentic self and F the haters. I always look forward to hearing your voice.
  • Lorieohle
    One of my favorite podcasts
Every episode is incredibly well researched. I love Jack’s dark, gallows humor. I’m always blown away by Jack’s ability to make me cackle laugh at something, only for him to take my breath away the very next sentence with his haunting imagery and poignant insights into dark topics. Thank you sir, please keep it up. Love your guts.
  • DirtMaGert
    Informative
Jack luna don’t give up… Your podcast is always amazing, believe me your fans are loyal and don’t want you to go anywhere. I’ll send you money through pay pal. When I can. Any way to do that?

    What happened Luna?
Luna what happened to you? I was an avid fan of old school dark topic. Your cheesy home written intro-the low production. It was PURE and listening to you was captivating. You could talk about the most gruesome acts with the voice of a gifted storyteller. Your voice the Pied Piper’s flute my ears followed anywhere it took me. Even through the humor which at times so sick I felt bad laughing. Why change perfection for plastic? You sound just like every other boring podcast with pointless conversation and sponsors to rep. I know you have a kid to feed and this is a job. The problem is it sounds like your doing a job now. Unlike before when it sounded like you were following a personal passion. I can’t even find the old episodes anymore-I was a monthly donor for. That’s the Luna I want to hear not this sell out stuff that has lost the art you once made it.

    Great podcast
Helloooooooo………………………………………… out there. Thats my favorite part! Jack Luna is a vibe! It’s dark, it’s grimy at times.. but Jack delivers. Not disappointed one bit

    Tequila Sunrise Medals
That was just great! Unbelievable what a person can and will do to save a life. A nice contrast from trying to imagine the unbelievable things people will do to another to end said life. Thanks Mr. Luna.
  • JoryBergen
    Jack is the man.
Jack is an incredible writer with a great sense of humility that adds a down to earth feel not all podcast hosts do. (Especially in the true crime genre.) I feel like I know the dude personally by listening to his content and following him on his journey to find his own personal nook in this whole podcasting world, and Dark Topic is just that! I suggest any and all work Jack does to anyone who wants to hear a storyteller do what a storyteller does best. Dark topic is a must listen.
  • anewcreation316
    The best!
My favorite podcaster. The only one I actually pay for. Jack’s voice is soothing while speaking about horrific things.
  • ArclausRN
    Love Mr. Luna
This podcast is great. Atmospheric storytelling, voice like butter, Jack is the whole package. He has a knack for telling stories I’ve heard with a whole new spin so it’s like I’m hearing it for the first time. His chemistry with Kent on the Brutal episodes is perfect and I am always charmed by how much Deadbug makes him giggle. I am so pleased to have found this podcast- it never disappoints!
  • Anonuser24
Was the guy who touched Luna and his brother as a child short or fat?
Because this guy gets wrapped up in what the perpetrator looks like in a really weird way. He won’t make one short joke or one fat joke…he’ll talk about that for the entire episode. It’s strange and takes away from what the perpetrator did that deserves attention. I don’t care that the guy was a “little tiny short stack baby sized man” or “greasy McDonald’s eating sack of obesity”. Luna needs some therapy, being this angry all these years later and lashing out at others on a podcast is embarassing.
  • gonefishcaking
    Fine
It’s good, and your voice is great. But I miss your chemistry with The Op—can you guys make up soon
  • AmmaBrown
    Love Jack Luna
One of my favorite podcasters of all time- he’s hilarious, a great writer and I love his voice. However, I do wish he’d stick more to the Dark Topic format instead of the other ones he throws in there.

    The warewolf butcher
Boy Jack you really outdid yourself with this one! I thought I’ve hear of all crimes that podcasts do but I never heard of this one although it was pretty Brutal it was interesting and new. Thanks guys

    Favorite podcast
I listen to podcasts everyday at work I was sick of most true crime podcasts and then happened upon Dark Topic. Jack, Kent, and Deadbug are awesome. I don’t skip through even if I have heard the case before. 100% recommend and turned a couple of friends in to listeners!
  • franczhesca
    Question about the ads:
If I skip through them, do you get penalized? They aren't bad, but I can't wait to get back to the show, lol!!
