    Just binged 2 full seasons
Longtime listener of the other PIAT shows. Never played DnD but finally gave this show a listen when my unplayed episode list ran dry. Binged both seasons in a matter of weeks. Fun show and super accessible without any DnD experience. Great show, PIAT. Eli, if you are reading this, the updated theme song for season 2, šŸ”„šŸ¤˜šŸ». The noises that came out of me when that beat dropped in 2.1...

Great for people new to D&D!!!
Never played a game of D&D in my life but the cast makes this so funny and accessible, I love it. Whole hearted recommendation! Loves of fun!

Itā€™s bonkers in the best way
This D&D podcast is definitely not like any other. If you donā€™t listen to other Puzzle In a Thunderstorm podcasts, you might not get all the jokes. But thatā€™s not a reason to avoid this one. Itā€™s a reason to listen to some of the others. Eli is a great DM, especially when things go badly. The ā€œprepisodesā€ are unique and entertaining as well!

    Not just another D&D Podcast
Just continues to grow on me. Eli is an excellent DM and really helps his friends get the hang of the game, and the cast just does an excellent job. Season 1 was fantastic, with some memorable characters, and Season 2 is shaping up to be the same. And of course Carl, whether an imp or the stand-in for Charon, is just the best boy.

    Best podcast forā€¦
Yā€™all, this is by far the best podcast you can listen to when youā€™re putting groceries away high.

    Funniest show I listen to
I was never really into D&D and it felt so confusing to me but this show not only made it understand itā€™s also one of the funniest things I listen to
  • And collapse
    Funnest DnD
This is hands down the funniest DnD podcast out there. Carl the Pugapegacorn is the best guide a group of travelers could hope for

    I enjoy this podcast.
This is an enjoyable and entertaining podcast that features a groups of individuals playing dungeons and dragons. I have listened to the show in its entirety and will continue to do so. 5 stars.

    My favorite D&D podcast
Definitely my favorite D&D podcast, the sense of humor is great, the players have great chemistry, itā€™s fun to listen to them arguing, and the DM has created an engaging and hilarious world.

Two great tastes, DND + PIAT
This show helped convince me to try D&D and, after never getting around to writing a review for these guys despite listening to the PIATpod shows since 2014, I must finally do so. My first character was an Abjuration wizard who I spent entirely too much time fine tuning, so hearing Anna realize she ā€” and Abjuration wizard ā€” had no Abjuration spells to use arcane ward had me laughing my keister off. Keep up the great work everyone.

    Hilarious
I never played D&D but now I want to! They are hilarious. I started listening to the second season, loved it so much I am going back and binging the first.
  • Poppy Corn
new adventure with cat & dog
Could this show get any better? Yes, yes it can. Whoo boy These folks invented a way to write and adventure story by luck. They made up crazy dice rather then just using regular 6 sided die and even let Eli play. I dont need to eat the flowers to have fun any more, THanks D&D Minnow!

This podcast made me want to learn to play D&D
I hadnā€™t listened to the first season of D&D Minus but I love the rest of the PIAT podcasts, so when season 2 started, I thought Iā€™d give it a shot. Iā€™ve never played D&D, so even though the hosts are hilarious, I wasnā€™t sure it would be for me. My kiddo (14 y.o.) and I binged the first 3 episodes of season 2 and laughed more than we have in years. We started listening to season 1 and after finishing to the first story arc, I signed up for the Patreon version to get every bit of this podcast that we could! The story is an exciting journey with all of the shenanigans & squeaky laughs I love from the hosts. My kiddo especially loves Morgan and Anna - they are great in their characters and such talented musicians! This has been a great way to learn about playing D&D. It always seemed kind of intimidating to learn about this whole world, but listening to the crew play and explain things as they go has made it fun and welcoming. I am completely hooked and canā€™t wait for the next episode!

Awesome show for those who have never played
I have never played D&D but after listening to this show would never turn down an opportunity.

    Lovingly F your Face
I knew of DND in concept, but never played or ventured into this world. You are my first exposureā€¦.wowza. After being invited (PIAT pods) to listen to the kick-off of S2, I got hooked. I am spending my break binging S1. Thank you [is all I can say] because ā€œbabies firstā€¦ā€ review said almost everything I was thinking. Now I want dice!

    Babyā€™s First DnD Podcast
Okay, so I donā€™t have a kid, but this podcast is my first experience with DnD if you donā€™t count pop culture references and that one movie from Futurama. I love PIAT Productions and found this podcast through Scathing. The first season legitimately had me in stitches. I love the lighthearted, humorous nature of this series. I wish there was a release a week, and Iā€™m sorry to not be a patron - maybe after football season is over when I cancel a few of my streaming services. Guys, I love the hilarious quests and the funny meta commentary. You are all so talented, but Anna really takes the cake. Iā€™m so happy that I get to hear so much from her on this podcast. Eli, your world building is phenomenal. I love your witty commentary and tragic math skills. Noah, you are always hilarious with your well reasoned arguments. Morgan, I am so thankful to get to hear more of you through this podcast. Heath. Oh Heath. You are my spirit animal. I would absolutely play like you do. Also, you reminded me exactly of my dogs playing with toys with your weapon selection. Please donā€™t stop being yourself! Anna, can you please change your backstory every episode??? I loved the off the cuff Black Beardā€™s Beard story and would love to hear you come up with more asinine backstories throughout the season. Additionally Anna, the updated music you guys surprised us with at the end of S2E1 was a chefs kiss! I was super stoked and cannot wait for the next episode just because of that. Thank you guys for being such an amazing part of my life!
  • Leonmit
    Best of both worlds.
If you ever wanted to know how to play DnD, this is a good place to start. They give you clear (enough) explanations of how the mechanics work that even a lay person can understand. If you ever wanted to know how NOT to play DnD, this is a good place to start. If you emulate some of the antics on display in this show you will surely be uninvited from your gameā€¦ if not worse. You will laugh, you will yell, and you will not be able to wait for the next episode.
  • Tetris dude
Havenā€™t listened to the show yet
But considering I scrolled through reviews and it took me 3 years to find a 4 star review I think it will be good
  • jaqui boy
    Thanks a lot!
There was a person I knew that hanged themselves in a neighbors garage, so those topics have been fun. Iā€™m also dealing with a lot in a prominent industry as a valued member. Honestly makes me me feel not so alone. Iā€™ve listened to all of your works from beginning to end as much as Iā€™m able to stand. I wish I could throw you all monthly subscriptions. But I buy food for my kitties over myself.

    AMAZING!!
Iā€™ve never listened to or played Dungeons & Dragons. I love GAM so I thought, ā€œWhy not?ā€ I have thoroughly enjoyed and listened to every DnD Minus episode, twice now. I love it! They do such a good job, itā€™s hilarious and Eli makes a great D.M. For anyone who wants to try out D & D, I highly recommend DnD Minus!!!
  • kbbaus27
A gem of an actual play
What I love most about D&D Minus is the rapport between all the players and the DM. The story is also great and the characters feel insanely lived in for most of these folks being new players. My only complaint is that it's released monthly! I need more!!
  • Angelbrat3
    Enjoying
Iā€™m sad to know that season 1 is coming to an end. Great story telling. What I imagine D&D should be like but in reality it be full of pauses, turn orders that seem to take forever, sheet updates that are boring, etc šŸ˜‚ (I enjoy playing D&D) Sad that there will be no more pre-episodes. I hope weā€™ll see more of Gary in the future. Canā€™t wait to see what season 2 will bring.
  • Matto the Hun
    Far too much fun
Bridgette, Kla, Dave, Snedrick, and sometimes Karl make disfunction aspirational. Itā€™s so much fun it makes one wish they could jump in and play with them. WORTH ALL THE STARS! (And snogsbane) I recently started listening and have sadly caught up. Couldnā€™t wait for the next episode so now Iā€™m re-listening. Itā€™s that much fun! Thanks you thunderous puzzles friends!
  • sdparris
    Levity Galore
I listened to the first episode while traveling and the show has been my mainstay anytime I am going somewhere. Itā€™s so funny and often just what I need to offset the stresses in my day.
  • MeOnEharmony
    These guys are geniuses
I have to listen to all of their shows and episodes so many times and hear something new every time. Iā€™m usually a smart cookie, but they are geniuses! I swear they saved me through the loneliness of Covid and the insanity of being back together with family and coworkers now. ā¤ļø this is the hardest piat show to get into cause I donā€™t know d&d but they paint beautiful pictures. Also they have the best laughs! Smart and funny - who could ask for anything more?
  • JaguarOboe
    Absolutely Magnificent
I am new to the series, only past the fifth story arc. But, I had to give this five stars for the ending to that last arc. It brought me to tears with Eliā€™s great story writing and the crewā€™s hilarious banter. Definitely the best D&D show you can listen to. It is worth it to follow and definitely become a patron to, if you are able. Critical Role should take notes.
  • sweetness22
My favorite Puzzle in a Thunderstorm
Hysterical. And if you listened to Tomā€™s citation needed you know that means their uteruses are wandering. If I had money Iā€™d be a patron.
  • RealBarak
I canā€™t stop listening! Or eating bread!
Since discovering this podcast, I have not stopped listening to it. The cast is hysterical and the situations they get themselves into have me cry-laughing at least once an episode. Itā€™s my new favorite podcast!
  • ChrisMcPhee
    So fun!
I have listened to every episode and I always love it. Itā€™s so funny literally Iā€™m having fun the whole time.

Took over my ears, LOVE IT!
This podcast has solidified my decision to play d&d going forward. Other podcasts were on hold as I binged through buckled over in laughter. Iā€™ve recommended it to anyone and everyone who might love the show or a fresh load of bread of mysterious type. And Carl is my spirit animal
  • nicole4790
Not a D&D player, but love this show!
Dave, I need a bread bowl for my tomato basil soup, please and thank you!
  • James @ CPM
They just keep getting funnier as you go!
The crew has a lot of experience being sarcastic and hysterically amusing, which shines through. 1/2 of the party is professionally obstructionist, which sets up an uncommon dynamic, but they really grow into as they go. Highly recommend giving it a try, listen to a few arcs and you wonā€™t regret it.
  • devlsadvoct
    Love it!
Love listening to everyone playing D&D while Heath plays D&ADHD. Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!!!
  • bloopy-Art

    Gimme that D&D minus
Fun, irreverent and full of light hearted jabbing. I started listening during a quarantine and my only disappointment came when I ran out of episodes Follow up- still in love. I have never even played d&d but it is such a fun story and they are so pleasant to listen to. Give it a shot ā€¦ give all the puzzle in a Thunder storm (PIAT) podcasts a shot. You wonā€™t regret it.
  • Alxclmn
    New DND player
My first DnD podcast and now Iā€™m all in. Starting my first game at 51yo and this podcast is a huge motivator. Just sounds so fun.
  • wallacs
    Everything Eli touches is gold
Iā€™m not much of a DND person, but I love the cast so much I decided to give it a listen. Itā€™s very fun. Highly recommend. Iā€™m sure it makes more sense if you know the game, but even not knowing, Iā€™m really enjoying it.
  • ptsdhippie
    LOVE LOVE LOVE
All the Puzzle in a Thunderstorm LLC podcasts are quite exceptional in their content and hilarity. These fine folks definitely make my work week less terrible! Keep up the good work guys and gals!! šŸ¤˜

    I wear a diaper now
I laughed so hard Iā€™ve lost control of my bowels.
  • Jmatt 09
Humor for the nerd in you.
In the beginning of the adventure all players and DM learning the rules and who their characters are. Some rules were bent and even broken but then they understood the game better which made me continue listen. As the adventure goes on with challenges, fights, and puzzles all the charactersā€™ personality come out in full force with more laughs than you would think. I laughed in every episode with the stealing of everything, bread ā€œrollsā€, and Karl. Bridget I feel your pain with your groans. I love the NPC are from paying patrons, the tricks and new gifts are made from listeners to be involved with part of the adventure. If you are ready to listen a fun time while drinking some ale with a fresh loaf of bread from your magic cloak you will enjoy these adventures rolling into chaos. Thanks for the laughs!!! May your dice gods be strong in your rolls to come.
  • jvangelder
Would never play dandd inreal life
