    Highly recommend!
I really enjoy listening to their podcast and conversation. I've learned a lot! I have a backyard garden in middle Tennessee and so much of their information still applies! Always learning something new. Highly recommend you tune in.

Great and Informative. But the interruptions!
I’ve binged the entirety of the show in the last 3 months. Upon first finding the show I looked at the reviews and saw the subject of interruptions, being something that was discussed and brought up over and over again. I tuned in anyway because I just love the topic of Homesteading ( I’m a Urban homesteader), anyway, I didn’t see where it was an issue, until I got into the episodes of 2022 I believe and forward. The interruptions are definitely a distraction, and I indeed found myself pulled out of the episode for a bit. But nonetheless the information is still informative and incredibly helpful and valuable. As an aside I wish the intro music would revert back to what it used to be. I find myself fast forwarding through it now. With all constructive criticism out of the way, I find the show to be (again) interesting, informative and entertaining, and a wealth of knowledge.

    Thank you!
Harold and Rachel- all I can say is thank you! You asked recently if the podcast episodes are becoming too long. My response to that is that I am constantly learning from your every word! I live in an apartment but am part of a community garden. I do my best to grow as much food as I can and my dream is to have a property one day. However I have been growing where I’m planted as Rachel says 😂 Everytime I listen I have something to practice and apply. Whether it’s seed saving, food preservation, battling pests in garden, learning how to care for soil and different plant varieties— I’m always learning! Just writing to say I am so so thankful for you both, my homesteading teachers. Thank you for utilizing your time to produce this podcast and pouring into my homesteading journey. I’m just thankful!! Please don’t stop. You are making such a difference in my journey and I’m sure many others will say the same. Thanks again 😊 🙏

    Informative, but not vegan friendly
If you’re a vegan homesteader this may not be the right place for you. Kind, informative and experienced, but hearing someone describing “joy” and “bonding” when processing animals is not for me.

    Great content but…
Really good content but Rachel and Harold interrupt each other so much that it’s difficult to listen to.

    Could be better
The topics and info are fantastic, but there’s this discomfort in listening because of the interruptions between hosts, especially the gentleman, the lady struggles to finish a thought without him overtaking it and being the louder more important voice and this battle to be heard.. I highly doubt that’s what the intent is, but that’s how it comes across, which doesn’t make for easy listening

Homestead today for a better tomorrow
It didn't take long for me to realize this was an excellent podcast with lots of helpful content. I listened one at a time all the way back to the beginning. Keep up the great work!

    Information pact and entertaining
Great to listen to. Makes my workdays fly by.

    Great Content; Better Co-hosting Needed
Content is among the best among homesteading podcasts. Ways to do better: (1) Harold interrupting or talking over Rachel less (though not intentional); (2) less banter. Farmers are busy folks. Try to get to the point and be less repetitive. I usually fast forward the first 15 mins or so to get to the purpose of the episode. Thanks Harold and Rachel for educating us!

    EDUCATIONAL ALL THE WAY!
I love the fact that I learned some thing on each one of their podcasts. So many podcast grade to the point of being “day in the life of “ or musing about their thoughts on different topics. This podcast differs in a way that I appreciate. I always learn some thing. I also love that they share their favorite books and what they liked about that book and the fact that they experiment rather than sticking with the way, things have always been done in the past. Bravo! Please keep it up.

    Too many interruptions!
I would LOVE the content of this podcast- HOWEVER, I cannot even bare to listen to these two because the extreme amount of interruptions by Harold esp. he interrupts Rachel SO much, she can hardly finish a sentence!

    One stop shop for sustainability
In a world full of resources for homesteading you might say “where do I start?” - well, THIS IS IT! Harold is humble and does a great job with the forest as well as trees and the show notes alone (with all the links) are worth it!!!!

Good Information; Hard to Listen to Due to Interruptions
I enjoy hearing about what Harold and Rachel have to bring to the podcast. However, I often have to stop listening due to the cadence of their interaction. Harold interrupts Rachel so much, that I just have to stop the podcast.

    Informative and entertaining
Harold and Rachel are such a joy to listen to and are always covering topics I am interested in as a homesteader!

    Talks too much over guests
I love the podcast but the host should talk less over his guests.
  • ktlehr
    Helpful and interesting but frustrating
Read a review about Rachel interrupting Harold, but I feel the opposite I think Harold interrupts Rachel way more she can’t explain anything without him finishing her sentences and then expanding into his own story.

    Helpful info, but…..
I just started listening to this show, and have learned quite a bit of advanced gardening techniques from Harold and Rachel. They have a lot of good advice for organic gardening and basic know how. However, I’ve been a little frustrated listening as Rachel consistently interrupts Harold as he is speaking. Rachel has great things to add to the conversation, but I find this difficult to follow the conversation especially when she cuts Harold off as he’s trying to explain a technique, state a company name for resources, etc. I had to rewind a few times and listen closely to an episode on putting your garden beds away for the winter as Harold try to name True Seed as a resource for a cover crop seed. Only a little constructive criticism as I feel this is a valuable podcast.

    Great info!
Great info and like the guests. Thanks! (note: audio could be improved to equalize volume for host and guest-it’s often hard to hear one or the other.)

    Educational and Interesting
I enjoy the way Harold presents the information. It’s not just a bunch of facts, but instead full of personal stories and conversation. Haven’t listened to many episodes, but I’m looking forward to more!
