Understandable and Answers All of My Questions
This is my favorite podcast for pregnancy so far. Some podcasts can be doom and gloom and some can just be overwhelming or not broken down for those that are not in the medical system. There are so many episodes with this specific podcast that I can generally always find something I’m interested in listening to. I also love that she places emphasis on listening to your body a lot but also knows what is typical in a hospital setting.

The best show for down-to-earth advice
I’ve been listening to this show for 2 months and feel more informed than ever. It’s like one big exhale. Liesel’s insight is approachable, filled with the facts, while leaving room for your own instincts. AND her programs are so. good!!! Thank you Liesel for all you do!

    Helpful, but very repetitive
I really enjoy listening to the host’s voice and learned a lot from her! That being said, much of the information is either repeated from week to week, or exactly the same as her online course, (for which I paid $139) so it doesn’t feel like a good value. I wanted to love this, but there is definitely some bias towards unmedicated births and a very rigid idea of a birth plan. I think some people will find this podcast extremely helpful, but if you are already pretty knowledgeable about birth and infant care, then this might not be the podcast for you.

    Learned so much!
As a momma to be, I have been listening to MLN since I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. I love Liesel’s fun, friendly, digestible podcast and I have learned SO much. Pregnancy/labor/birth info can be so overwhelming and intimidating, but that couldn’t be farther from her podcast. Liesel presents the information and a wealth of knowledge on so many varied topics in an easy-to-listen format. My husband and I just did her free workshop, 3 Secrets to an Even Better Birth and both learned a ton. I plan to purchase her Natural Birth plan course as well. I recommend this podcast to all my pregnant friends as well. Thank you for a wealth of information, MLN!

    Re kick counting episode
This episode gave me a lot of anxiety and a lot of the info/myths from “studies” discussed in this episode, like don’t eat something cold to help with kick counts, are practices my Dr office still follow. I go to a very large, reputable medical office so I have a hard time believe they’re following “myths”. They also keep saying to rely on the baby’s pattern, but patterns change and mine never really had much of a pattern … it seemed to be just trying to convince you to get their app, esp after making you anxious if you don’t… other episodes I listened to I liked, but also read about them using “birthing person” term which is dismissive of women

    Love but audio issues
I love this pod SO MUCH but older 2019 episodes audio were so much better! Not sure if it’s the hosts voice or what, but I can barely hear or understand her in the car 😭

    Disappointed
When I first started listening to this podcast, it was super helpful and I loved all the topics! Lately, however, there have been guests who refer to laboring Mothers as “Birthing Persons” and I will not listen to a podcast that actually thinks that is an appropriate way to refer to a pregnant /laboring mother. It just makes me sick. I am very disappointed.

Mommy labor nurse has been such a blessing to my life. I started listening years ago when I was beginning to think about starting a family and I've learned so much in the process. I anxiously await new episodes and am now finally pregnant myself! 4 months in and I’m listening to every episode on repeat haha. I’m just so excited to go through this process with so much knowledge and I thank every member of mommy labor nurse for helping me through this journey. 🥰🖤🙏🏼

    First time Mom
I’ve been following Liesel on instagram for awhile but I only just started listening to the podcast. I’m 20 weeks this week and have been So nervous about labor. This podcast has already made me so much more confident already!! I love listening to the positive birth stories. Thank you Liesel for sharing information in such a clear and nonjudgmental way. I’m hoping to have an epidural and after listening to the podcast I plan on taking the epidural course to feel more prepared. Knowledge is power!

    Highly Recommend!!
Preparing for my 3rd birth and fighting some anxious thoughts. Listening to this podcast has helped reduce the anxiety and helped me feel more empowered to not have a third traumatic delivery. Wish I knew about Leisel before I had my first two kids.

    So Informative!
I’ve followed her on Instagram for years, and now that I’m pregnant again, I’m binging her podcast episodes all over again, and it’s so informative and even just a good refresher on what labor entails, even if you’ve already had a baby. I’m 34 weeks with my 4th baby, and still finding all this info so useful and feeling more prepared.

    So representative and informative
I have been a long-time listener of the MLN podcast throughout my pregnancies, between and after! This podcast inspired me to obtain my PMH-C as a family therapist. Liesel’s work is so representative of a variety of experiences and this podcast shares so much important information. This is a weekly listen for me!

    Great pregnancy podcast
I started listening to this when I was pregnant 2 years ago but haven’t stopped, I still find it all so interesting and informative!

    Helpful and Informative
This podcast series is seriously so great to listen to, especially if you’re going into pregnancy with little prior knowledge. Her episodes not only cover medical information but anything and everything in between pregnancy, post pregnancy, etc. It’s also entertaining to be able to hear other women’s birth stories and the many different approaches you can take (epidural, natural, induction, etc). There is no shaming or fear mongering which I really appreciate as a worried pregnant mama. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for something to listen to that will be both entertaining and beneficial.

I had to turn it off 😭 - morning sickness comments
I turned off the latest 1st trimester episode because it felt so upsetting. When she answered the question about what it means if you don’t have any symptoms, and says that could mean you’re at a higher risk for a miscarriage. 🤨 Noooo…. Don’t tell this to the scared new mama who wants to be pregnant but doesn’t feel it. The host also downplays the anxiety that causes women who go through waiting on that 1st appointment while not feeling pregnant. You’re begging your body to have morning sickness! Please don’t just tell us that we are lucky. I’m pregnant with my second now, and again… don’t “feel” pregnant. And, with my first baby, I never got a single symptom my whole 1st trimester (and didn’t throw up/ have morning sickness my whole pregnancy). Symptoms were very light overall, and I gave birth to a very healthy baby boy. 🙏 So Mamas who don’t feel sick in the first trimester, you’re not crazy for wanting to feel sick and your baby is doing AMAZING! The research shows that it’s the the way the mom’s body reacts to pregnancy hormones that determines nausea in pregnancy. If you’re someone who doesn’t get sick with nausea/vomiting much normally, you may not in pregnancy either. 💖 YOU’VE GOT THIS, and you’re doing amazing! I know the host seems SO kind, and likely didn’t mean to offend or hurt. Just wanted to throw this out there though for other moms who get scared by that statement.

So glad I found this podcast!!
I was looking for a podcast to listen to while driving to work that would give some quick tips about pregnancy and birth. I couldn’t have stumbled upon a better one! Liesel is so easy to listen to. Her being a labor nurse makes you feel much more confident about what she says regarding labor and birth because she’s not just talking about her own but about all the births she sees! I love all the freebies and downloads available on her page. It’s a must listen to when preparing for birth! I love this podcast!

Not the best for women with complications
As someone who’s been through pregnancy loss and complications, this really wasn’t the best podcast for me. Although she’s very sweet, the host talks about her own experiences which, aside from typical symptoms, make pregnancy sound pretty breezy. I couldn’t make it through the episodes on first trimester because I didn’t relate at all. Especially when she talks about barely even trying and getting pregnant right away, I wouldn’t want to take away from her experience and I’m so happy for people when this happens but if she’s trying to reach a larger audience I’d recommend she be a bit more cautious and empathetic and talk about other experiences too. I tried a few more episodes but while I think it would be great for someone with an easier low-risk pregnancy, if you’ve been through fertility challenges I wouldn’t recommend.

    A must if you’re expecting!
I loved listening to this podcast while pregnant. Even though this was my second birth, it helped me to gain a plethora of knowledge and enjoyed several different topics! Thank you for helping me with my pregnancy and labor!

    Stop saying “birthing person”
Dr. Jennifer Lincoln the guest OB on one of the episodes was saying “birthing person” as if anyone else other than a women gives birth. Only women give birth. I’m surprised she went to medical school and doesn’t know this. Stop erasing women in the name of “woke.”

Best podcast for future moms and those preparing for birth!
LOVE this podcast. I amazed by the amount of info that Liesel packs into these episodes- and she makes it so fun to listen to! After each episode I’ve been inspired to look up more info and learn about things as I’m preparing for my first baby. 👏 Thanks Liesel! This is a must listen for first time moms and those that are there for support!

    Love Except for One Element
I love this podcast except the Birth it Up Baby segment. The reason I hate it is because it randomly has a screaming baby to signal the breakaway. I find it startling and triggering!

72 hours of labor - This pod helped so much!
This podcast and Liesel’s natural childbirth course gave me so much knowledge and peace of mind preparing for birth. My labor lasted 72 hours (54 hours of which were unmedicated before deciding to get an epidural). I ended up needing a c section, but I felt so confident and at peace making that decision because of all the knowledge I’d gained and stories I had heard from this podcast! Even though my birth wasn’t what I’d hoped for, it was not traumatic at all and truly an empowering experience that taught me so much about my own strength and endurance. Thanks Liesel!

    So helpful!
This podcast helped me so much throughout my first pregnancy and then through labor & delivery! As a first time mom I didn’t know much about the whole process or what my options were when it came down to baby time but between the podcast & Liesel’s birth it up class I felt so much more comfortable when it came time to have my girl.
