Seasons of Matrescence - The Podcast

10

Becoming a mother leaves no woman as it found her, it unravels and rebuilds her, it cracks her open, takes her to her edges, it’s both beautiful and brutal often at the same time.

This transformation has a name; matrescence. The monumental shift a woman experiences through becoming and being a mother. Like adolescence, matrescence is a time of radical transformation; physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. However unlike adolescence, matrescence remains largely unacknowledged in mainstream culture. And it’s time for that to change.

Welcome to Seasons of Matrescence - The Podcast, where we explore the changing seasons of becoming, and being a mother.

I’m your guide, Nikki McCahon, mother, matrescence educator and womens life cycle guide. Let’s explore the transformative potential of matrescence and change the conversation about motherhood, together.

Excellent, refreshing, changing views on mamahood
I found this pod cast on a whim and it is truly wonderful! This bright and enlightened woman is changing views on what it means to truly become and be a mother. She states “becoming a mother is like walking through fire and coming out a warrior”. This could not ring more true for me and many of my friends, i love listening to her 💕

    Not a Mama
But I LOVE this podcast. She is so vulnerable and allows me to apply her thoughts and experiences to my life in a way that helps me grow. The episode with Revie Jane took my breath away. Such raw strength and beauty being shared into the world. Thank you.

    Just what I needed!
Love listening to Nikki’s passion, curiosity and own experiences that are relatable to so many mamas! I love the interview format but also how she mixes it up with helpful ideas and personal stories! Definitely recommend to all mothers trying to keep up with the demands of raising children, working (whether at home or in the workplace), maintaining a household, keeping up a partnership, and then trying to invest in oneself!
