Marcus517Simplistic information free attitudeIt’s not fair but I listened to only one episode; the one with Elon in the title. Lots of leftish cliches, constant outrage, simplistic generalities and selective examples. Just another of dozens of podcasts on the right and left that think attitude is all you need for a podcast. Ok, it’s not fair that I only tried one episode. Maybe, others have actual data and some level of balance. But who has time to waste on light weight nonsense.

RillRillthe framing of this show is despair-inducingi like the content of the show, but narrative matters, and the overwhelming narrative framing here is that all is lost on every front. the left needs positive future visioning, not more doom. unsubscribing

shenkdabankyupsolid topic choices informative and 1 out of every 3 interviews are a hit topic for me. aside from adds and all, compared to all others conover is top 5 in my weekly rotation. 👍

MagackiBecoming the leftist version of Rush LimbaughThis originally started as a cool nerdy podcast that explained niche science stuff in an hour. Now I just don’t get as much pleasure from the show as I used to and am really on the verge of just giving up on it. Adam has been pushing politics a lot more on the show. Which itself isn’t necessarily bad but this episode (released 9/11/24) really demonstrates a lack of understanding. I mean, the guest literally says “this is how politics work”. I’m just getting tired of listening to Adam being petulant about politics rather than engaging in meaningful enlightening conversations. Which was what this podcast was originally about and what drew me to it.

MellowD007Listen, laugh, & learn - yes please! The topics are always fresh and interesting. I love the way Adam Conover has reverence for facts and his audience but gives his nuanced takes on complex issues honestly. Adam is an excellent interviewer, advocate, and an all around amazing entertainer, but more importantly this show has integrity, openness, and useful insights. Listen, learn, & laugh. As a teacher, I highly recommend this series and Adam’s other work to explore the difference in the way things are and the difference we can make in the future when we use facts and critical thinking skills along with ethical humanistic values!

Turkeyb0yMiddle aged man rantsOver 10 minutes of ads and live reads in an hour long show, and all the “humor” amounts to nothing more than “me say bleepy word, ha ha ha?” Also the content has no sense of nuance or actual thoughts and facts, just a leftist circle jerk and demonization of anyone one inch to the political right of the host.

FinkbonerLove you Adam!Adam, I love you man! Been listening for years. Just listened to your Nootropics episode. So good!

dexfan187Nice workLove the show

BrosgolbabeIrony?Everybody gotta get paid, right? But do we seriously need four minutes of ads before every episode and endless pandering for Patreon subs? My finger hurts from skipping. Then we get the lecture about how frivolity and capitalism are destroying the structure of human existence. Sigh.

ForafuntimecallLove this show but hated the abolition episodeI normally love Adam and this show. He often delves into topics that not everyone is talking about and his guests are normally experts in their field in some way. However, I really hated the prison abolition episode. As an abolitionist myself, I felt it barely scratched the surface of what the abolition movement really is and misrepresented the ideas behind it. It’s an odd choice to talk about abolition with someone who is not a supporter of the movement nor an expert on the topic. There are plenty of folks who would’ve been more authoritative and unbiased in this discussion. Many of whom are both scholars and former prisoners themselves. The guy you had on was not it.

ClassytchrStill FascinatingLoved Adam’s show and love this podcast. Listeners who rate it low should read the summaries and pick the topics that interest them. Although occasionally I’ll listen to one I didn’t think I’d like and it keeps me interested.
-
BronxDupPodcast willing to tackle difficult subjectsAdam has thought provoking conversations with exceptional guests. Some of the most informational podcasting on the internet
-
MassachusettsMaggieInfo you won’t get elsewhereI watch and listen to everything Adam creates. He’s smart but modest, has great guests, and is fun and funny. I love that an episode titled FREE WILL DOES NOT EXIST was followed by an episode titled FREE WILL ABSOLUTELY EXISTS.
-
SmackJackalGreat show this week, dull topic the past two weeks.I’m glad that there was a counterpoint to last week’s episode on the notion that free will doesn’t exist. (That whole conversation was so bad I tuned out ten minutes in to it.) This weeks guest offered a way more compelling case for their views, was more fun to listen to. I still tuned out, but it took me a bit longer to do so. These are just not personally compelling topics, for me. Maybe if they’d been framed in someway that ties into current events…maybe?

robin1042The episode with Rashid KhalidiThe episode with Rashid Khalidi during the week of Jan 15 helped fill in quite a few holes I had in understanding what’s going on in Israel. I just downloaded the book and I hope that will fill in more and lead me to other information. My thanks to Adam for having this conversation and being open to learning along with all of us.
-
Sad-facedUsed to be interestingit’s become an echo chamber. It has gone the way of citations needed and become kind of detached from reality. Really one sided and Adam just yes ands the guest. Not really informative anymore. I’m really disappointed because I used to love Adam’s content
-
PastorNatalie4Love it!This pod is so informative!
-
Whipporwill13Never really objectiveThe topics covered are interesting, and the guests are largely good, but there’s a lot of one-side preference here. I was always a fan of Adam, but the few episodes I have listened to here really highlight some of the built-in prejudice he tends to have. An interesting listen, but don’t look at this as a completely factual and objective source. There are better educational resources and podcasts with less of a lean.
-
BillyBucketsOpinionatelyA huge portion of the five star reviews are echo chamber agreements, the one star reviews because this show is contrary to the reviewers political beliefs. I love listening to things that I agree with and that I don’t agree with. even though I align with Conover more often than not, this show is basically a rambling editorial podcast by this point. The punchy, fact-based narrative of his former TV show is lost here. This show is for you if you want low-information-density background noise, you are conservative and want to hear what the other side is thinking, or you are liberal and want a comfortable echo chamber. All of these are fine, but not what I’m listening for. If you want a high density educational show based firmly in objective truth, look elsewhere.

breathethelightDefunctland!!Love the show in general, it perfectly fits my personality love the fun facts and discussion. But omg LOVE that you brought on one of my favorite documentarians Kevin Perjurer!!
-
ScarletmindedGreat Caitlin Doughty and Kevin Perjurer interviews!I have read a few of Caitlin Doughty’s books via recommendation from the podcast National Parks After Dark. Plus, the interview with Kevin Perjurer bumps this up to five stars! I hope if I encounter this on YouTube, his animation is Brad Pitt oriented!

joef1956One of then best podcasts I’ve ever listened to.I have like Adam C’s Ruins Everything since I saw my first episode but the problem I have always had with it is that I have to sit in front of the tv to watch it. And who has that time. The podcast let’s me take him along with me, car, train the gym etc. and I like it even more than the show. He doesn’t need the premise of ruining something for the actor on the show. He gives us an interesting and informative look at various topics with well informed guests. Sometimes they are a little hard to hear because I can see where I need to change my ways to improve but who said he wasn’t going to still ruin some things. But in a good way.
-
christybiskitFunny and thought provokingAdam and his guests help me to crystallize the ideas and thoughts bouncing around in my brain.

Joppo5000Just discoveredJust discovered this Podcast 200+ episodes late, but I’m excited I have a huge back catalogue to binge. Now that I'm deep into the Dropout rabbit hole (also recently discovered) I guess the Twitter algorithm chose to suggest Adam’s handle to me and I saw he has a podcast. 10/10. Would recommend.
-
KurtNoykosVery well edited!Diverse topics. Great pacing. Sound quality gets better as you go. I love how genuinely amped Adam gets about each topic.
-
gentlemen's pockyVery good diverse and original guests !Super podcast !

nuthin better than the musicFactually inaccurateI listened to the episode on why the border patrol is “exempt from the Fourth Amendment” and the inaccuracy of the explanation is unbelievable. For challenging constitutional topics, I recommend interviewing or at least consulting a legal expert, not some journalist who misconstrues the complex holdings in this area. Saying that there are zero fourth amendment rights within 100 miles of the border is simply a lie to incite panic. There’s a looser standard for assessing the reasonableness of searches near the border. I agree with the ideological starting point that this lowered standard is problematic in certain ways, but you can’t advance a good position on poor research and lies.

jimmyp3000Oregon TrailAdam. I’m guessing. But are you also of the Oregon Trail generation??

BarryOloneGreat showLove the conversations. Between this and all the other work y’all have done on Adam Ruins Everything and the G Word and so on you’re doing a lot to spread the news of the system. These are all great reminders to pay attention and to be real about what is happening around us and what our part is in all of it. It’s great to get these fact checks in an entertaining way. Thank you! One suggestion to make the show even better: instead of announcing the breaks to the guest, just edit in the guitar transition and your ads or just put them all at the beginning—maybe even right between the intro and true conversation instead of in the middle of the podcast. Keep it up.

VdisawesomeDecent worth listening tooI love the majority of the episodes but some are just way too technical. However, I love the guests he brings on and the dialogues that are created.

mxblu8Fact Check Housing Episode Please 🙂I love learning new FACTS. That said, the affordable housing episode made a few wild claims that are the exact opposite of what we’ve been experiencing in the Bay Area. Can you do an episode on key factors like Developers/Slumlords, Infrastructure & Environmental Impact? Your guest had very biased views that completely ignored this crucial information, as did you Adam 🫤 I’m sure you can keep an open mind while fact checking these things to get the full picture, even if you still disagree. Thanks for educating and entertaining me while simultaneously giving me anxiety 😅🫠😵💫

DeanHackerLike a college study group led by an idiotIf you are a progressive and want to confirm your priors, then this is the podcast for you. Conniver has always covered a wide range of topics with zero curiosity. Listening to him interview people with an agenda is brutal.

-
erika houskaGreat source for other mediaI’ve been listening to this to get book and podcast recommendations recently and each I’ve heard recently have been excellent. Adam is a great interviewer. Love this show.
-
youtubesmdUn factualI thought I was listening to an opened podcast but Adam just over powers his guest till they say what he wants to hear. He has such a limited idea of the topics he speaks on. Tried several episodes but I can’t listen anymore.

Vivian13!The Great Stewardess RebellionEnjoyed the interview with Nell McShane Wulfhart. Especially, having flown as a Flight Attendant for 40 years… starting with TWA, ending my career with American Airlines. I experienced many of the topics discussed. Still was a great job. Look forward to getting the book. However, a postscript should be added… TWA Flight Attendants went on strike 1986… during Easter… against TWA and the infamous corporate raider , Carl ICAHN. Please, take the time and Google it. We did it.. stuck together. But, in the end … a slow death for TWA. Thank You✌🏼✈️

IsasteinConsistently Fantastic and InformativeI have been watching Adam since he was on College Humor and have so much respect for him. His curiosity is contagious, and even when the information being conveyed is depressing and alarming at times, the blow is softened by his natural humor. His acknowledgment that he doesn’t know everything and learns from experts in their field is refreshing and makes me feel better that I don’t know everything either. This show gives me the vibes of Getting Curious With Jonathan Van Ness mixed with Adam’s previous show Adam Ruins Everything. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to be more informed about the world we live in.
-
tiffannie (:Miss the show, so grateful for the podcastI was a huge fan of Adam Ruins Everything and still regularly cycle through the episodes. This podcast is the best thing that has ever happened. So much longer than the show episodes, so I’m depth, amazing guests. Highly recommend.

Flavio H. B.Pfizer too much powerI decided to give Factually! a second chance. The first time, there was too much host and too much yelling. In the Pfizer episode... I'm not a big fan of Big Pharma, but if Pfizer didn't invent its vaccine, so what? It's called the "Pfizer vaccine" because people shorten words--"BioNTech" gets left off. Host also said the vaccine cures COVID-19; I guess he doesn't understand what a vaccine is.
-
Darren RingI TriedI really tried to give this podcast a chance. I really like and support pretty much all forms of comedy. But Adam Conover really comes off as pompous and he stinks as an interviewer. The fake laughing and pseudo-intellectualism really makes him unlikeable in my opinion. If you ask me he is factually unfunny and should give up calling himself a comedian.
