Donna DuncanTears of laughterI recently found this podcast and I’m binging the episodes. I was moving right along when I got to the Muppet Christmas Carol and now Erica owes me for the repairs on my car. I was laughing so hard at her Fozzi impression that I nearly had to pull over while struggling to see through my tears. I recommend this podcast to everyone I know.

HillarygraceBinging joyfullyListening to this podcast adds so much joy to my days, I find myself belly laughing nearly every episode listening to Paul and Erika’s banter and genuine friendship. They cover movies so dearly and catch so many details that I’ve gone back to rewatch several after an episode listen that I haven’t seen in years or new movies I wasn’t previously aware of or interested in; I really do love more film being in my life as a side effect. Thank you both for creating and sharing this podcast with us! Loving you! ❤️🔥

!Samantha!5 Star ReviewI found this podcast in August of 2024 and have started at the beginning. I notoriously do NOT like movies but I love listening to these two dissect and discuss! It is well-researched, funny, thoughtful, and relatable. I truly enjoy the rapport between Erica and Paul; they’re funny and banter with each other without being mean. Just a really great podcast that I walk away feeling better about the world, not worse.

mom2smr08A master class in “yes, and-ing” and a meandering great time!(Thank you, Paul, for the instructions on how to leave a review, because this Gen-Xer NEVER would have figured it out!) This is one of my top 3 go-to podcasts because it’s just so much fun! For those reviewers who mention the tangents and off-topic convo: I suggest you just sit back, relax, (buckle up), and enjoy the ride! This podcast is a master class in the game of “Yes, and…” Enjoy the true chemistry and brilliance of Paul and Erika’s banter and don’t worry, they eventually make it back from their side trips. They include fun info about all the movies they discuss, along with their thoughts on each movie’s viability in today’s culture. Hence, the title. It’s fair and balanced reporting. No notes! 😁

ShortworkerLove It!I really enjoy this podcast. I was hooked by the episode of the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I love the banter. And even though there is some talk that is off topic, it’s not too much. Some other podcasts spend half the show or more talking about politics, which is annoying. So I appreciate the funny back and forth and the great review of the movie. Thank you for being great. You have a subscriber for life!

Diane5179I’ve Got a Golden PodcastWho needs a Wonka Bar when you can have this podcast as a prize instead?!?!? I’m not sure when I last saw a recent movie. I love the hilarious recaps and analysis of movies from my youth. I love Paul and Erika even though they don’t share my affinity for the I’ve got a golden ticket song. Wonka is my favorite slot machine to play and the song makes my heart soar when the Oompa Loompa feature is activated.
-
TcmagnaLove you guys!I am so grateful to have found this podcast! The friendship is obviously beautiful and I love the review of films I grew up loving. I mean, my wedding song was “It had to be you” from When Harry Met Sally! It’s wonderful ❤️

Barely_A_Millennial89Late Listeners but enjoying the showI am so mad that I’m just now finding this podcast! The laughs I be getting from Erika and Paul be having people looking at me like I’m strange lol. This podcast has really made me reexamine some of the classic movies and shows. Thanks for the laughs and a providing an escape outlet. *FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️*

LoqutisBorgWe’ve had to apologize to our kids so many timesThis is just a great podcast idea. My wife and I have also gone back and watched some old childhood favorites, and been horrified at what we thought was funny or acceptable behavior. These two hosts crack me up and continuously point out some great observations, that I didn’t even notice. NO NOTES! Im humbly request that you review “Revenge of the Nerds”. We watched it with our two college age kids recently, and had to apologize so many times. I think it would be a great watch for the both of you.

LookForTheLoveYou Must Be an AngelfoodLongtime listener, first time reviewer! I thoroughly enjoy the That Aged Well podcast, particularly when they discuss a beloved movie or one I’ve never seen. But never did I realize how therapeutic it could be! I listened on Election Day to escape the stress and boy did they deliver with Some Like It Hot. The Madonna/bakery mashup was creative and hysterical and had me crying from laughing so much. You saved me a trip to the therapist and now I want to think of more Madonna/cake-related songs. Thank you for doing what you do. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
-
amgel205306Hilarious and entertainingI love the hosts! They have great senses of humor! I just listened to the Jaws episode and it was great. This was the first episode I’ve listened to. I’ll be going back and listening to older ones.
-
GoodDaveEntertaining and Surprisingly Helpful For Parents of Young KidsI can’t say enough good things about this show. I’ve been listening for almost a year now and still in the process of binging past episodes. Along with all of the well-deserved praise others have given the show in other reviews, I want to say that it has also helped me figure out what older movies are appropriate for my two young kids. I’ve hit some landmines in the past with old Disney animated movies, and with movies made during the 80s and 90s when I grew up. But thanks to Erika and Paul, I can listen to their recaps first before I travel down memory lane with my two young ones. Thank you both for always brightening my day and making my life as a parent a little easier.

Laurel CRMy comfort listenPaul’s chiding finally worked; I’ve kvelled the praises of this podcast far and wide and figured I should probably stop stalling and leave a review. I first started listening to “That Aged Well” at least two, possibly three, years ago, and in that time it’s become my go-to film podcast. Far from being the pretentious high brow commentary that some hosts strive for, Paul and Erica’s banter captures the essence of the flick, puts it in a new light, and has you laughing the whole time. Nothing beats their chemistry. Every Monday I eagerly open my app to see which movie they’ll be covering. Sometimes I squeal with excitement when I see the title, and sometimes I’ve never heard of it, but even if I have little interest or familiarity with the film, I usually hit play because the hosts are just that good. Truly, it’s a comfort listen. I’m going through a bit of a withdrawal this vacation month of September but hope Paul and Erica are enjoying the break. When they get back and (hopefully) read this I hope they’ll consider covering “The Hudsucker Proxy,” Tim Robbins’ lesser-known 1994 film. It’s a fever dream of art deco-draped satire directed by the Coen brothers, and I think the hosts would have a blast with it.
-
lisaf1163Amanzing and so fun!I just found this podcast, and am already hooked from my first episode. I’m so glad that there are years of episodes for me to go back and listen to. Please keep it up, I’m looking forward to more!
-
KattSzilagyiNo NotesIt is equally as fun to hear our hosts pan a movie I hated as it is one I loved. They provide intelligent, hilarious, and thoughtful reviews of the picks and pans of our youth. Plus, the luminous and quick-witted Erika and Paul have friendship chemistry for days. They clearly love theater, movies and each other. And they owe many gifts to Kimberly and Katie of A Date With Dateline for suggesting this romping good time.
-
kednycWildly Entertaining, Smart, and Laugh out Loud FunnyMy friend introduced me to this podcast and I’ve been binging it ever since. Erika and Paul are sure to bring a smile to your face with their witty recaps/reviews of “classic” films-especially if you are a child of the 80s and 90s. It is impossible not to laugh throughout each podcast. These are two incredibly smart and talented people who give in-depth insight to movies we love while uncovering what has (and has not!) aged well. It’s perfect. No notes.
-
SGCMatthewsCanon! How did I live before learning about this show (thanks to Date with Dateline for the recommendation)?! Erika and Paul are brilliantly hilarious and play off one another so well. It’s like watching a beautiful ballet — if that ballet had witty d%*k jokes and also made me spit out my drink laughing (on many occasions). As a 1980 baby, I feel a kinship with these hosts and love listening to them recap the best, worst, and most-bonkers movies of my childhood. Their laughter is infectious — Paul cracking up over Iago in Aladdin and Erika reveling in the last 20 minutes of Road House make me so happy. Please keep doing what you’re doing forever! You’re perfect. No notes. P.S. Erika and Paul, you have inspired me to up my creative cursing game, AND to research “canonical” (to make sure I use it properly).
-
xd CrzyGabagool!!I love this podcast! I discovered it through a date with dateline and have abandoned all my other shows. Their banter is hilarious and it’s very very entertaining and best of all NO WIRE HANGERS!! May I suggest Airplane and Look who’s talking too! That toilet scene messed me up as a kid! PS. Not sure what my username will be since apparently I’m an old lady who can’t figure out how to change it!!🧐
-
miketeevLOL for realI wish I could give y’all six stars. No notes. You’re brilliant and hilarious and you make me LOL for real. I want you to narrate my life. Also please do “Party Girl”. Or “Doom Generation”. Or any Parker Posey movie. Love you’s xoxoxo
-
jesnau67One noteThis podcast has everything! Paul, Erika, movies, tv shows, PSAs, hot takes, Paul cracking himself up, Miss Piggy, Audrey Hepburn, Lorraine Bracco and more! Come for the reviews, stay for the dork jokes. I love your show…Only one note, my volume has to be turned up pretty high to hear you two…either way, I am a loyal listener (thanks to my friend @Morganza.extravaganza for telling me about y’all)
-
g funkyI have since peed my pantsCanonically, the first episode I listed to was Newsies, because I was THAT drama kid. Then on a road trip, my husband demanded Raising Arizona after hearing the end of your American Psycho review. Just bouncing around and picked Office Space. PEED. MY. PANTS. AT. WORK. (Not a good look.) I have ZERO idea how I found you, and Erika
-
Marvelette3GrayI’ve tried to write this review four times but it’s worth itBut you’re getting the short version: great podcast, funny, smart, stays real without losing the delight of doing bits with your friends. Please do Mystery Men (STACKED CAST, sort of predicts the fatal flaws of the superhero movie genre). Not in a creepy way okay I love you bye-bye

Mhl2016Please review Shag and Hello AgainI came looking for a podcast that discussed The Legend of Billie Jean, and discovered this gem of a show. Now I have been trying to make my way through the archives, but they’ve covered SO MANY of my favorite childhood movies. I feel so seen—to give an idea of how much I fall into the target audience for this podcast, I actually did watch Fifteen on Nickelodeon when it was airing, but it was just no competition for Swan’s Crossing. Anyway, the main reason I am writing a review, which I don’t usually do, is because I really need you guys to do a show on Shag the Movie (definitely didn’t age well but will always love it, and to give a warning, the license ran out for a lot of the best songs, so unless you have a copy of the early VHS editions, you won’t get the full experience) and Hello Again (which I’m pretty sure continues the tradition of Shelley Long’s characters having terrible taste in men). I’ll be eagerly awaiting your reviews. P.s. It’s a few years old now, but just in case no one ever pointed it out, Michelle Pfeiffer changed from pants to that ugly skirt in Grease 2 because of the school dress code—no pants for girls!
-
cookies4breakfast2222No notes!!!Thank you Kimberly and Katie for introducing me to Paul and Erika, no notes!!! I’m a 90s baby, so this pod has inspired me to watch so many of these classics that I wasn’t yet alive for or were too young to see. I love hearing their thoughtful takes. If you can appreciate calling out cringey behavior that was once socially acceptable somehow while also being able to agree that some things are horrible but also objectively funny, this is the pod for you! PLEASE cover Planes, Trains, and Automobiles this holiday season. Growing up, my family watched it every year on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and although I love it, I’m still not sure if it’s even a good movie and would love y’all’s takes. Love the pod, 10 out of 10!

Sam88MPHRevisiting Movie Magic: 'That Aged Well' with Paul and Erica'That Aged Well' is like having a reunion with your friends from the 80s and 90s movie era. Paul and Erica don’t just dissect plot twists and poke fun at the insanity—they unearth buried childhood nightmares (thanks, Labyrinth) with sharp wit and infectious laughter. This podcast is your ticket to relive the classics while doubling down on the hilarity of hindsight. Grab your popcorn and settle in for a nostalgia trip that's as entertaining as it is enlightening! I’d love to hear a review of Now

Kelsey NCHysterical!I recently discovered this podcast and have been working my way through the back catalog of episodes, falling more in love with these two fools with each and every one. I just finished the Aladdin episode and to hear Paul cry/laugh at any mention of Iago, stating that after the week he had, that stupid bird just brought him so much joy… HYSTERICAL!!!! Haven’t we all been there, folks? And although Erika’s laugh just in general is reason enough to give this podcast a listen to, you’ll quickly discover there is so much more to love about these two and their shenanigans. Thanks for making me howl with laughter, especially when I have my earbuds in when I’m grocery shopping , I love people thinking I’m a lunatic. Keep up the great work. NO NOTES!
-
PuttingthefuninrefundOne of my fave retrospective pods. Binge marathonHaven’t missed an episode yet. You guys need to review Gus Van Sant’s “To Die For” featuring a babyface Joaquin Phoenix and unhinged Nicole Kidman
-
Mention DaremontI love it! Particularly when I don’t have the energy to actually watch a movie.Erika and Paul are smart, observant, fair, and above all, hilarious! Speaking as an elder (some say geriatric) millennial (who finds myself often adrift in the sea of 20something pod casters who trade in pop cultural references that mean nothing to me) it’s so great to revisit these movies from my distant youth and feel seen both in shared memories and grumpiness. It’s also one of the few movie podcasts that my wife enjoys so it also brings people together! I also want that tote bag.

@abbeyrueCanonicalNo notes. Cray stole my review!

Gunslinger BeeAbsolutely fabulous!I’m an expat living in Belgium and nothing gives me the warm back home feeling of a brunch cocktail paired with both sweet and savory items like this podcast. Funny, smart, sharp, sassy, and never boring! Love you like Keanu loves all three of his facial expressions. Please cover “midnight in the garden of good and evil” would loooove to hear how Chablis aged…
-
WiSACSweet Jebus - I love these kids!Listened to their entire back catalog, many episodes more than once. I listen to all pods at 2X, which makes Erika's giggles even more endearing! Keep 'em coming, please and thank you...!
-
From John Hughes' ChicagoLove this pod! That Aged Well is my all time favorite podcast. After listening religiously for over a year, I feel like Paul and Erika are old friends. They bring joy and laughter to my car every Monday morning. Thanks for the insightful commentary and hilarious banter - never stop!
-
Rottnkids25 Stars, Regardless…I love this podcast! As an older Gen Xer, these reviews remind me of why I am the way I am, and make me feel a little bit better about myself. The research is thorough, and I love Erika and Paul’s banter. All this to say that I forgive Paul for his story about the pants-less little girl he saw riding in a grocery cart. I now have a constant fear that said grocery cart has somehow ended up in Ohio, and is touching my groceries!
-
RtcbeaSo much funI found these two via Kimberly and Katie from Date with Dateline. Erica and Paul are funny and upbeat and kind. Such a pleasure to listen to. Please keep it up!

JolieGuacamoleThere is one ultimate poorly aged movie you’ve missedYour podcast has become my ultimate comfort listen. I listen to your podcast while doing housework, I listen to your podcast while shopping, I’ll even admit that I listen to your podcast to help me fall asleep. It’s the ultimate mix of comedy and a movie recap. I’m personally responsible for your hours listened rising in the past month. I’m working my way through your catalog. I often find myself thinking of what movies I’ve watched in my youth that haven’t aged well. You two have covered almost everything I could think of. However, there is one that you haven’t covered yet. Without aging me, I watched this on my father’s even at the time outdated laser disc player. As a child I thought this was top tier comedy. I stumble upon it recently and realized how this one particular movie did NOT age well at all. What movie could I possibly be referring to? The movie is Steve Martin’s The Jerk. Am already a huge fan of you two, but if you could cover this one, I’ll be the ultimate fan.
-
LoriM80Better than BingeworthyI found That Aged Well about a month ago and have been listening non-stop since then. I’m devastated that I’ve now gotten through the entirety of the back catalog. Paul and Erika have wonderful insights into the movies that filled my childhood and adolescence. Like Paul, I was a tender-hearted child, teen, and now adult, so I’ve been able to experience some movies (like Fatal Attraction and American Psycho) that I never would have actually watched. Thank you, Paul, for doing the good work for those of us who cover our eyes in anticipation of when the dramatic music swells. I have two movie suggestions for you! Number One - Rags to Riches which I found after falling in love with Troop Beverly Hills, but I’m sure doesn’t age nearly as well and Number Two - Dream a Little Dream which might possibly have been a fever dream. Thank you and Happy Pride!
-
Mouse1809Cool, cool, coolI found Paul and Erica through A Date With Dateline a few years ago and I’ve been an avid listener ever since. Their takes on the movies and shows I grew up on, delight me endlessly and I don’t care when they throw out the rankings system for a movie or show they love. Erica and Paul are a match made in heaven and the perfect pair to lead us all through the problematic decades of the 80s and 90s. I recommend this pod to every Gen Xer I know! Please please please do us all a favor and cover Some Kind of Wonderful! Yes Erica, I still can’t believe you haven’t covered it either! Keep up the amazing work! No notes!
-
NoelleMQLove you guys!I’m not sure how I stumbled across this pod, but so happy I did! I’m 54, so I was a teen in the 80’s. Love the recaps, the laughs, the banter and the honest opinions even when I disagree. Kinda love that I found this a few years in so I won’t run out of episodes for a long time. Thanks for covering all my faves!
-
Sweet-ish CarolineThese two really light up a room!I listen a LOT of true crime podcasts, and even though this is a kiss of death, Paul and Erica really light up any room I am in with their rapier wits and infectious laughs! In the true crime world this probably means that they will both be murdered soon, but I sure hope not because I really need at least one pod in my life that is fun and light and doesn’t make me lose faith in all of humanity. These two are CANONICALLY great and good and the only thing that would make their podcast better is if they also started committing true crimes. Five stars! No notes.
-
Chilipeppper13Long time listener, first time callerI discovered the show during the pandemic, and after moving out of New York to Florida and finding myself in the car for long stretches of time, I will admit that it has become my savior. I have laughed out loud a bit too much while driving - I will admit, but the mix of the humor, the comfort of rehashing my generation’s films, Erika’s Miami-ness and Paul’s New York’s-ness, I feel seen on so many levels!! 😂 I am for sure a lifelong fan!! 500 stars!
-
Stacy at the MallThat Aged Well podThe most fun podcast around! I save these episodes for when I can literally laugh out loud. Paul and Erica are really quick witted and I love hearing their takes on all the things. If you’re not listening, you’re missing out!

Zasu PittsA heart felt thanksI totally love you guys, and you truly filled up a hole in my heart. Slightly serious content ahead: my mom was a lifelong movie buff, and I caught the bug from her. One of our favorite guilty pleasures was to settle in for an afternoon of bad movie watching-our favorites were overwrought melodramas from the 1940’s and 50’s, happily agonizing with the golden age divas of that period-Stanwyck, Crawford, Baxter, and of course, Queen Bette Davis. Since my mom passed away, I lost that particular joy, and it has only been recently that I have been able to sit down and watch any of those movies. Happily, I just recently discovered you two gems, and it truly was like sitting on the sofa with my mom again-laughing ourselves silly over smoldering looks, terrible fashion choices and ill timed face slaps. Your deep dive into the Valley of the Dolls had me in stitches-Erika, your Anne as Hannibal Lecter-chef’s kiss! You both truly sphakle! (Also, thank you for promoting Sunset Boulevard for the brilliant film that it is.) Looking forward many more warm and hilarious afternoons with you as I wade into your library. Fingers crossed that you will someday find it in your hearts to explore the films of director extraordinaire, Douglas Sirk. All That Heaven Allows and Magnificent Obsession were the epitome of the so called “women’s pictures”, and I have a feeling you both would have a field day. Wishing you all the best and many trashy movies in your future.
-
truecrimediva17Smart and hilariousI started listening on a recommendation from another podcast, and I’m 1000% glad I did. They cover a wide variety of movies, from modern to classic, with some TV thrown in occasionally. Even when I don’t know much about the movie they’re covering, it always makes me laugh, and I usually learn something about the moviemaking process or the actors involved. 10/10.

S.H.20175 out of 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Erika and Paul are two rare beings that are a triple threat. Not only are they funny and intelligent but they also created a perfect podcast that has raunchy and informative mixed beautifully! No notes. The show moves fast, you laugh about every 1.8 seconds. They give detailed rundowns that are so good when you actually watch the film you have already been able to in envision the scenes from their recaps. I just joined their Patreon, too! Bravo 😘 Maybe they can add 1981’s “The Incredible Shrinking Woman” to their suggestion list. Lily Tomlin is a Queen 👑 Thank you for the wonderful show 🫶🏻
-
MH 44The best!I listen to a lot of podcasts but my interests typically lie in the true crime genre and recap of true crime/procedurals. I’m a late adopter of That Aged Well but I’m so glad I did! I’m a new mom and Erika and Paul keep me company through middle of the night feedings and my stroller walks throughout the day. The only negative: laughing out loud when I’m trying to rock my baby asleep or walking down a busy street. Thanks for all you do!
-
MistyDawn45Amazing!“That Aged Well” is the BEST podcast you will ever listen to! Paul and Erika are wildly entertaining and will have you laughing (and sometimes cry) the entire time. With each episode, I feel like I am hanging out with my besties having the best time. They are just what the doctor ordered for your mental health!
-
ChrissyyMacDon’t tempt me with a good timeI thought about withholding this review until we got an animated Robin Hood episode, but here I am. I can’t remember how I found this podcast, but I’m so glad I did. It makes me laugh and think and I love both of those activities.
-
MrsWilburnioSo good!I started listening to this podcast a couple of weeks ago, and have been binging it ever since. I wish I’d found it sooner! Paul and Erika are absolutely wonderful, and have made me laugh out loud MULTIPLE times. Luckily, only my cats and my husband have had to worry about my sanity, since we can’t leave our houses :) I am so grateful for the quick wit, intelligent conversation, valuable insight, and absolutely gut busting laughs. Highly recommended. 5/3/2024 - I fell away from podcasts for a couple of years. I recently started listening to them again, and rediscovered this gem. I wholeheartedly stand by my 5 star review. This podcast is just wonderful, and I recommend it without reservation!

SasoAFive StarsAre you happy now Paul?

PhillyMJSMental Comfort FoodThis show was an accidental discovery but has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts, offering hilarious takes on some of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. The episodes on The Cutting Edge, Center Stage, and Hackers are absolute must-listens, but don't sleep on that Showgirls two-parter, either! Hosts Paul and Erika have fantastic chemistry, and their laughter is often contagious. My single complaint is that as of this writing they have yet to cover 13 Going on 30 or Bring It On.
