    We have evolved…
Kevin - the show is outstanding and I have said that before. But we are an evolving fan base. We know the pain of mediocrity, we know implosion, we know “winning off the field”… we are still jaded by the aura of self destruction. BUT we are much improved from the top down! JD and the line are a bit hurt, Lattimore is coming as is the defense - at the right time. We were not blown out by anyone - which alone is different from prior years. I expect a different game against Dallas. This is still the team that hung in there against Baltimore. Stay the course people.

    Commanders = MD Basketball
Kev, love the show. Long time listener. I’m afraid you are starting to do the same thing with the redskins as you do with Maryland basketball, year after year. You try to convince yourself that a good thing is great. When in reality any big game just turns out disappointing. That is what separates good and great teams.

By far the best show covering the Commanders. Kevin’s a longtime fan but brings a unique, unbiased team breakdown.

27 years of misery worth it for this
Have really enjoyed the show and thought I’d share my experience because I think it will resonate with the fans in my age group. As a 27 year old lifelong skins fan, I grew up with almost nothing to look forward to on Sundays. I moved to Baltimore at a young age, so I watched my friends grow up as happy as can be, ready to shove their team’s success in my face at every turn. Sure, there were some ‘fun’ teams in the mid 2000s with Cooley, Moss, Portis and characters like that, but we never expected to compete in the playoffs seriously. Then came the highs and lows of the RG3 - Kirk Cousins experience which ended up leaving us fans imagining ‘what if’ more than embracing anything actually going on on the field (not that there was much to embrace). It became so bleak in those post-Kirk years most Sundays I could barely bring myself to watch and I became numb to it all. Bad news story after bad news story came out about Snyder, but it felt like he was untouchable and nothing would unseat him from his position of power… until one magical day when it all came crashing down. I still tempered my hopes as Josh Harris and co bought the team, I scoffed at the idea of us picking a defensive minded head coach from the Cowboys to head up our new era, and above all I remained cynical that my team would EVER be able to convert a top pick into a real starting QB in this league. I cannot express how grateful I am that I was wrong about everything. Jayden Daniels, Dan Quinn, Adam Peters, Josh Harris, and everyone else in the organization have blown past any expectation I could reasonable have had and allowed me to believe in my team again. I now look forward to every Sunday and am no longer embarrassed to tell people who I support. Guys, we finally have our team back and we have a quarterback ready to lead us through the next phase as we hopefully get back to being the franchise we once were. Hail

More than just a show- a connection to my roots
As a native of Potomac, Maryland, and a lifelong Redskins fan, The Kevin Sheehan Show has been a lifeline to my roots. Having left the area over 20 years ago and now living in Los Angeles, staying connected to DC sports—especially during the peak of the Dan Snyder nightmare years—hasn’t always been easy. I even tried to switch allegiances to the Los Angeles Chargers for a couple months, but it just didn’t feel right- in my heart I didn’t care. The Redskins are in my blood, and so is the familiarity of home that your show brings. Listening to The Kevin Sheehan Show has become an essential nightly routine for me—it’s how I unwind and fall asleep, feeling closer to the place I grew up. It’s amazing how a podcast can bridge that gap, bringing me back to the DC area despite the physical distance. Your commentary, insights, and the sense of humor you bring (especially when Tommy is on) feel genuinely authentic, making every episode a true connection to home. I feel close to you and Tommy, and I consider you my dear friends even though we’ve never met. Thank you for what you do, Kevin, because it matters deeply to me. The show has been a blessing, a constant reminder of where I’m from and the sports culture I still hold dear. Next time you’re in LA, let’s play a round of golf—it’s on me!

    Jayden’s Success
Without a doubt Jayden Daniels is a generational quarterback. His success is attributed to his talent and a lot of luck. He is lucky to have a competent ownership, a great head coach, an exceptional offensive coordinator, and a schedule that allowed him to ease into the hot water. My question to you Kevin is what percentage of the offensive playbook has been opened for Jayden?

    Love this podcast!
Thank you Kevin and Thom for this fantastic podcast. As soon as I receive a notification on my phone, I immediately click on it to listen! I became a fan as a 9th grader when the sports news in the DMV was all abuzz over a new coach coming to coach the Redskins - George Allen! I fell head over heels in love with the team and the sport. My dad and I watched every game together until I moved west for school as a young adult. Because there was no internet at the time, during games my dad used to call my phone (land line, of course!) and let it ring once if the Redskins scored. If it was a touchdown, he would follow up with a second ring for the extra point. If there was no second ring, I knew they had scored a field goal. I know it sounds CRAZY, but it was a way for my dad and I to stay connected during the games of our beloved Redskins. My dad stayed a loyal fan until his death in 2015. He would be going absolutely nuts over this season! THANK YOU so much, Kevin and Thom! Keep up the great work! Linda in Connecticut

    Best DC based sports podcast
Love the show Kevin. I’m a Redskins season ticket holder, been in my family since 1981. I’m writing to talk about the Pep Hamilton interview though. Really loved that. Pep’s story telling and recall was awesome. With his DC connections it would be nice if you could get him back again from time to time. Still a CC guy at heart though. Keep up the good work! HTTR! Great show but get over the name
Hands down the best local show for Washington football. Smart analysis and great guests but please get over the name change. Kevin is too smart to keep slipping the skins name in there “unintentionally”. It’s over, move on. Been a fan since 1991 and haven’t missed a game, love the history and don’t like the new name either but need to accept reality

A Must For Skins & DMV Sports Fans
Kevin has an encyclopedic knowledge of the DMV’s sports teams and a particular obsession with the Skins. While he’s an admitted fan, he backs his opinions up with data and w/ an informed perspective. He also has great guests.

Updated review of my favorite podcast
With the success of the local football team I anticipate a lot of new listeners and thought it would be good to catch you up with the most discussed topics you have missed. In no particular order 1. Kirk Cousins is a good quarterback 10-12 in the league range. Kevin never said elite. Many of you don’t listen 2. Mark Turgeon is a good coach and you Maryland fans who don’t think so are WRONG! 3. The name is a big deal! 4. Thommy can get a little grumpy and it would be nice if Kevin would retweet his column. 5. Cooley will jump on from time to time to discuss players he hasn’t watched play. 6. Finally When questioning Kevin’s opinion many of us are limited.10 out of 10. Keep up the great work

    What are we calling it?
Kevin - help settle a debate between me and some friends. Are we calling it the “Hail Noah”, “Hail Maryland”, “Tip 6”, “Maryland Miracle, “Noah’s Arc”, or something else? I’m partial to “Hail Maryland”, has a nice ring to it when you say it fast. Love the show, have been a listener since the pod started, when I was a sophomore in college.

    Hail Mary Hail Commanders
Im 35, I have listened to Kevin since I was a teenager and still remember waiting for him and Cooley to go through position grades every week. I loved listening to Kevin and Thom sound almost giddy when they talk about the team these days….such a contrast to the last 20 years when all he could do is share in the misery we all felt week in and week out. My dad was a season ticket holder in the 90s and went to three super bowls, now I’ve been a season ticket holder for two years. Didn’t get to to them win a game last year (was out of town for the opener) and haven’t seen a loss or missed a game this year…..what a turnaround! From top to bottom this team is just different, the coaches are coaching, the players are playing and the fans are showing up and showing out! It’s early but if you can’t get excited about this team now then you don’t love football. With that being said it’s time to bring back Cooley! Let’s make him a team legend already we need some Cool 47 in the building! HTTR! HTTC! Hail whoever just keeping winning! LFG!

    Shear unadulterated uncompromising EXTASY!
Yes, if JKC was here today, that is how he would describe this show. Having Thom, Cooley, Doc, and Jay as regulars fills each episode with great insight. Now that the team that resides in Washington is relevant again, we can abandon the cope an enjoy the football talk! HAIL! (ps it would be nice to hear Al Galdi on here more often, as well) :)

    Send Ron his ring
Kevin, I’ve been a listener since I was a kid driving to school and my dad would turn Cooley and Kevin on the radio. I’m a recent TCU grad and live in Dallas, but I love that this podcast keeps me connected to the Redskins (also love the Shelly’s ads). Being as young as I am, I did not witness the glory days of the 80s and early 90s but only know about them as a distant memory of my dad’s youth. That being said, I’ve come to the conclusion that everything that has happened to this organization throughout my life has led to this season. If Ron didn’t stink it up as badly as he did the last two years, we wouldn’t have had the chance to take Jayden. Furthermore, Dan’s inability to functionally run an organization, but his obsession with making offseason splashes, kept the team just good enough to go 7-9 and not draft in the top 5 for all of those years when, even if he had taken a great quarterback, we would never have won because he was the owner. However, the new ownership realized something this time last year that the only way to win sustainably in this league is to have THE guy at quarterback, so they traded away Chase and Montez, who possibly would have caused us to win another game or two last season. I believe Jayden will lead us to sustained success, and that we only have Ron to thank for whiffing on taking Jahan over Kyle Hamilton, Forbes over Gonzales and others, etc. because we likely would be starting Drake Maye or JJ McCarthy right now if he had chosen correctly during those years. It’s a much more clear headspace that I hope your listeners might find freeing. Hail, VH

    “In Gus we trust”
Loved hearing Frerotte, the QB of my early Skins’ fandom, on the program! I especially enjoyed that Darrell Green story he told, it was very inspiring. Gus got his points across very clearly on the show, no wonder “B-Mitch” didn’t have to call the plays for him in the huddle..

    2nd review?
I wrote a review years ago but Apple doesn’t seem to let us write a second review. It only allows us to edit. So I’m editing just to say again that this show is the go to show for commanders talk. Thom remains great too. Love the show.

    My favorite show, and…
Kevin, I’m really writing this because, yes, this is my favorite podcast but also I have no one else to tell as a skins fan from Jersey… in short, watching TNF (Falcons/Bucs) and they start talking about the evolution of the black QB and show a pic of Doug Williams - not in a skins jersey but with a Bucs jersey, no visual recognizing that he was the first black QB to win a superbowl when he was a Washington Redskin… I thought, maybe I’m overreacting, the Bucs are playing, okay, but then they show Todd Bowles… and refer to him winning the superbowl as a WASHINGTON safety! Refusing to even acknowledge the existence of the Redskins name… this really hit a nerve with me and I’m curious if it got you and others as well…love the show

    Washington fan!
Thanks Kevin for all the detailed coverage of the team throughout the years. I appreciate your insight, emotion and dedication pre and post Snyder era. I live in Virginia Beach and grew up as a kid and teenager throughout the glory years. On Sundays, all the families on our dead end street would hangout and cheer for the Redskins. Such a special time and I knew I’d be a skins fan forever. Now, we have hope again it seems. My 9 year old son would jokingly calling me a loser for pulling for Washington the past 4 years as he was learning about football. All he knew from his elementary friends was that the culture, players and their record was not something to cheer for. A total waste of time. My son now knows who Jayden Daniels is. We’re seeing a lot more gear being worn, especially at his soccer games. The chatter about the team is positive! Its a great time for long time fans like us that decided to stick it out with this team. I don’t feel embarrassed or think twice about wearing a Washington hat. Again, thanks for the work you and Tommy put into covering the team throughout the good and bad times! Sincerely, John Pharr

    Excellent
This is my favorite DC sports show. I listen every time Thom co-hosts. How on earth are you bringing up the name right now? It’s the most positive time since RGKnee’s rookie season. It’s a dead topic. Stop it. There’s a great commercial with actual animals/giants in a living room representing NFL nicknames. Shocker, there are neither Chiefs nor Redskins.

    We need Cooley!
Hey Kevin, long time listener. Love the podcast, love hearing you and Thom and whichever other commanders reporters you have on (Keim, Logan, Ben, bram, gruden) but we have got to get Cooley to come on for a film breakdown and talk Jayden Daniels! Yall do a great job with this show, keep up the good work!

    Finally, a blowout
Hi Kevin, Longtime listener, first time reviewer. I really enjoy your show and listening to with my son Brooks. We enjoy Fridays especially when you have Jay on the show (Brooks is a big fan), anytime you have Cooley, as well as most days in general. I found myself NOT having a white-knuckle moment at long last this week - I had forgotten how it feels to just enjoy a game. Real proud of the D this week, they deserve a lot of credit… but the middle is still a problem. Glad to see Jayden confidently drive a few passes in the end zone. Special teams continue to be special with some exceptional coverage. Thanks for all you do! Darin in Elkridge

    Smell Test Stinky
Kevin, if your college picks represent the house, then you must be fronting the worst casino on the Strip. Like the one in Vegas Vacation where Clark and Cousin Eddie are down bad and playing “Guess a Number Between 1-10” against the dealer. I understand the game and am doing this for entertainment purposes only, but I find I’m only entertained WHEN I WIN. These plays aren’t even close. I actually agree with your contrarian philosophy but think your warm-weather associates are steering you wrong. I suggest we stick with the Neighbor Nick approach and go with only the high-profile games that are painfully obvious public bait, although, to be fair, the Penn State and Auburn plays (which I liked) fit this and still lost. The public isn’t taking a meaningful stand on UAB-Navy or Baylor-BYU. They’re not moving the needle. I feel like we’re getting too cute here, but, yes, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Keep up the good work!
  • darsin24
    Love Kevin with Thom…
BUT the funniest bit on the show is Kevin talking about his picks! He knows more than “John Q. Public” (read: you) of course so the smugness when he’s right (“I HAVE SHARP FRIENDS!!”) compared to the Ron Rivera-esque excuse making when he’s wrong (“IT’S THE NFL, NO ONE KNOWS!!”) is hilarious!! Really great bit, Kev!

Kevin does a great job with commentary, posing great questions and bringing in interesting guests and contributors to provide expertise and insight. Most definitely the best DC Sports podcast there is, and one of my favorite podcasts in general.

Kevin , I love the show as always. You and Thom were discussing whether or not Washington would have selected Daniels if they had the Number 1 overall pick. Wouldn’t they just ask Kliff Kingsberry who coached Williams? If they loved both players film and personality, it seems to be an easy answer. “Hey Kliff , you coached Williams and you have seen and met Daniel’s. Who should we pick? Thanks for reading the review. Keep the good stuff coming.

    Open a dictionary!
Constructive criticism?! CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of Terry McLaren? Kevin is not qualified to give such criticism, that's what Cooley does.... At least Tommy has a command has a command of the English language.....a VALID criticism it was.... Love the show, especially when Kevin gets me riled up like now!!!!

Kev 5 stars as always. I was walking my dog and got light headed and about passed out hearing Thom’s evaluation of JD. He’s coming around after all. Thou I think the roster is little more talented than his evaluation. Time will tell. Keep the great PODS rolling boys!

    Without equal.
Kevin Sheehan’s podcast is, no hyperbole, the best of any covering the Commanders. Episodes that include Jay Gruden, Santana Moss, Logan Paulsen, or, unfortunately too rarely, Chris Cooley, cannot be missed. Kevin is articulate, knowledgeable, empathetic and self-deprecating. He handles his part-time partner, Thom Lovero, with the requisite ego soothing repartee, but in interviews with his guests, he elicits insights and behind-the-scenes information you won’t find anywhere else. Highly recommended.

    Great show
Love the coverage of the Red… I mean the Commanders. However not at all surprised someone that was sniffing Adam Schiff’s jock for so long has a problem with James O’keefe. Without the recording the story would’ve been dismissed as coming from a non-authoritative source. With the recording it’s unimpeachable. However like a troglodyte scared of technology Tommy seems scared of the citizen journalist. It’s the wave of the future because career “ journalists” have been proven to be unreliable and untrustworthy. Also, MORE COOLEY!!!
