Half of my being is this podcast
I keep these two lovely ladies playing almost constantly. They are my safe space. They are my absolute favorite people to listen to. I love listening to the early episodes and skipping forward to hear how far they’ve come with research and content and flow. Their humor is my humor. They cannot do wrong, they are perfection and are doing everything RIGHT. If I’m having a bad day I turn it on and they immediately lift my spirits.

    The best podcast
I started listening to this podcast years ago during a hard time in my life, I struggled to find a podcast that I could actually get to entertain me and shut my brain off from the rest of life. Ash and Alaina are absolutely amazing to listen to, they make the podcast feel like you are just talking with friends about a shared interest in true crime cases. Years later I have listened to lots of podcasts but this is the only one that I tune into for every single episode the day they come out, and I own morbid t shirts and Alaina’s book, and have even turned other people to the pod as well. Thank you Ash, Alaina, Mikey, and wondery!

    Who enjoys this
I don’t really get it. This is like listening to friends who can’t spit out the core details of a story without saying a million words of unnecessary context, but worse because there are commercials.

    Stop with the politics talk
Love when a true crime podcast talks politics. Jk. Can we not?

    i’m hooked!
i really enjoy the tone of this podcast—i listen often and i will admit i do prefer the more modern cases but thats just preference. The research and delivery of the cases is well performed and i enjoy the reactions and commentary of the hosts thanks yall!

    Best ladies ever
Such a fun podcast that dives into true crime. If you don’t like their side convos, go somewhere more boring. Love ash and alinas dynamic and story telling. Keep it up gals!

    Less fake
Used to be really good. Seems tired, boring and uncaring. Still like them a lot I just haven’t been able to listen for a month + because it’s boring serial killers from the 70s. They need a refresh for sure

    Great coverage- one suggestion
I feel like each case is covered respectfully in great detail and I have a firm understanding of what occurred. As a psychologist, I have one important note- referring to people as having something “inside you to begin with” that is unleashed paints the picture that every child is born with tools to be a killer or not, which is not the case and can skew how people view each other. Rather, I’d suggest changing language to that people are born with a sensitivity to certain stressors- that may combine in a way to create psychopathology. This is true whether it’s violence, personality disorders, anxiety, or depression. (It’s called the diathesis stress model) Regardless, love the pod.

    I heart Morbid
I love this podcast! I enjoy the stories, the side banter is what makes it entertaining and keeps me listening and often makes me laugh out loud. Ash and Alaina keep doing what you’re doing!

    Less male hate please!!!!
Foist of all love yall so much I listen to every episode that I can on my way to work, and I agree lots of men are COMPLETE pigs but not all of us are and it breaks my heart to see men as a broad name being slandered, and I’m allready ashamed enough about the Oval Office (trump) being mostly male votes. However since his election most female social are all male hate and for me the sort of turning me away from most people what you guys don’t understand is that male hate actually brings some men to hurt themselves or others and no one asks or we don’t say anything because were supposed to be (according to societal norms) emotionless slabs of stone. I love your banter tho and i hope you see this comment.

    NorCal names
Love you ladies and this show, but some of the pronunciations in the Zodiac killer episodes were driving me nuts! Someone already caught Marin, and it’s Ben-ee-sha, not Beni’cka (Benicia); and Melvin Bell-eye, not Belly. I grew up in SF and love how much work you’ve done on the NorCal cases tho! If you ever visit definitely get an It’s It. Trust me 😊

    Great show!
Just started watching a couple days ago and I am so picky on true crime podcasts but I listen about 25 hours a week so I run out of episodes! But I love this show now, love the stories, frequent releases and long episodes

I wish I could skip all of your side conversations and tangents
Too much side conversation, get to the point!! Stay on track!

    Ash and Zodiac… good job!
Y’all should watch the Netflix documentary on the Zodiac and the link to Arthur Lee Allen. I believe he was the Zodiac.

    My favorite podcast!
I started listening to morbid in 2019 and haven’t stopped! They have some really morbid stuff and some lighter spookier stuff to listen to so if you’re not a total weirdo like me who is fascinated by the gruesome gritty heinous details of true crime you can find something chill like listener tales! Or one of Alaina’s old timey tales :) Ash and Alaina do a great job giving trigger warnings before getting into the more disturbing cases. They’re also hilarious and have the most adorable relationship as an aunt/niece but they have a more sister/sister vibe. :)

    Low IQs
As each minute of listening past, I could feel myself getting dumber.

    People have eyes
If they cover a woman serial killer, the killer had such a bad life and needs to be given the benefit of the doubt. If they cover a man serial killer, the killer is scum and should be stoned to death😂😂

    Tamla H case
I went back to listen to the Tamla case in 2020. These ladies are so blatantly biased. Obvi this case is sketchy but all their interjections with their opinions doesn’t make the case more sketchy… liberal idiots. Glad I never hopped on this podcast bandwagon
  • PiperJJfrank
    Marin
Kindly look up the pronunciation for California towns and names. Marin killed me.

True Crime with Heart, Smarts, Your Spooky Besties, and a Sprinkle of Sass!
This podcast is everything true crime should be—thoughtful, respectful, and just the right amount of unhinged. Ash and Alaina have created something that’s more than a podcast; it’s a hangout with your weird, spooky, hilarious best friends who just happen to be dropping deep dives on some of the darkest stories out there. Their commentary is both sympathetic and sharp, always calling out the real villains (including the haters who somehow still miss the point entirely). For once, I actually love the 5–8 minutes of intro banter—it’s cozy, it’s funny, and it makes you feel like you’re part of something. These two gorgeous ghouls have given us weirdos a safe, witty, and wildly entertaining space to exist in. Morbid is an ally, a vibe, and a gem. If you’re mad about that, you’re probably the kind of person they’re calling out. Haters gonna hate—but the rest of us will be here laughing, learning, and feeling lucky this podcast exists.

    I also touched the Titanic!
I am new to this podcast and working my way through the back catalogue (only 527 episodes to go)! I listened to one recently where they chatted about a field trip to visit a piece of the titanic and touched it. I feel so validated. I grew up in the North Shore and have distinct memories of my school taking us to an exhibit with a huge piece of the titanic in a room with water running over it. We were told not to touch and of course I absolutely did. Not one person I have told this to believed me. I actually convinced myself I made it up and was just an imaginative child. The way I gasped when you mentioned this in an episode. Five stars for content and another five for the rush of validation.

    My favvvvv
I listen to my friends every night while falling asleep and i often don’t make it past the commentary before im in a deep sleep haha. They are my comfort people and i truly hope they never stop doing this. Been listening for over 4 years. Very informative and very respectful of the victim and their family. I love how the story telling is a genuine reaction from the opposite person and doesn’t sound scripted or like it’s being read directly from paper ( even though i know it is) 10/10. If you like true crime, you’ll love my weirdo besties 🖤

Do you do any episodes less than 50 years old?
Plenty of stuff has happened this century. I think it’s clear the old time crime is the genre that they’ve picked for themselves but don’t acknowledge. You won’t find anything less than 30-40 years old.
  • myrownxneyowoxje
    Too many interruptions
I really enjoy listening to the stories they tell, but I feel like more recently I’ve had to skip up to roughly half of each episode to avoid commercial breaks & random chatting. I don’t mind the chats about life in the beginning, but I wish the stories themselves weren’t interrupted so frequently. At the same time, it’s nice to know people appreciate their show enough to pay them for commercial time.

    My #1
I absolutely adore Ash and Alaina! This is hands down my favorite pod. If you have ADHD and like true crime this hits. I find other podcasts to drone on which is fine but I have a spicy brain and love the banter they have. Plus they say what I’m thinking most of the time about the perps. 10/10 recommend.

Trigger warning for any religious listeners: The hosts of this podcast will mock and shame you.
Mocking Christianity (or any religion for that matter) is not funny, quirky, cute or “accepting.” The stories you’re covering have been much better/ more relevant and recent, and for that I give you 2 stars, but will unfortunately have to stop listening due to the shame that you are both aggressively putting on your religious followers. You should never mock the people who have made you relevant/ pay your bills.

    Mixed Bag
I LOVE how the republicunts and “Christians” are upset by this podcast. Since they are the perpetuators of evil, thank goodness for Morbid. On the plus side, the women do very good research and tell a story engagingly. On the other hand, every female victim is apparently “so pretty”. I’ve noticed that this matters in a victim? Also that being a mother elevates their importance. “And she was a MOTHER!!!!!”. It’s tragic that children have lost a mother. That does not make a woman more valuable. I like that both women look up many of the names of places they don’t know but somehow managed not to look up the pronunciation for ANY of the places in the Bay Area for the trailside killer. It was jarring. It’s kinda teenager-y but that may also reflect the fact that I’m almost 50 and not their target audience. If you can’t stand Bravo, Gilmore Girls or bad accents you may also have a hard time as I do. But, again, they do put in the work consistently and make an effort to be kind and that is admirable.

Please listen I love this podcast
So I’ve been listening to this podcast for like two years now and I love it so much it’s so much fun to listen to and I love the way they goof off my favorite kind of episodes are definitely listener tales ghost ones. These people have my love for true crime, weird and morbid stuff and I love it 10 out of 10 guaranteed from me if you read this, please make sure to at least listen to one episode because I really like it I probably listen to like 20 episodes maybe even 30 when I went on a trip trip with my family. It entertained me so so much. It’s definitely a great podcast to just walk around and listen to like for example when you’re driving, it’s a perfect podcast. You just listen to a couple of like episodes are like a listeners’s tale if you’re on the get-go and you need something easy to listen to is your podcast I’ll say this for the last time cause you’re probably gonna get bored of it. I adore this podcast. Also, the nickname is true (lol)

    I’m out
If you like listening to politics and uneducated opinions then this if ur podcast. I’m just waiting for them to talk about karmelo and Austin. Oh wait that will never happen even though it’s true crime. But either way I know they would take karmeloes side just to make themselves look “inclusive” these to disgust me anymore.

Not as good as it used to be.
This podcast used to be awesome, but within the last 2 years it’s really tanked.

PLEASE. You put so much work into your stories but the 10-15 minutes of cackling at the beginning of EVERY STORY is annoying. Please stop. No longer listen every week.
  • knowledgeaholic
    Boring and unnecessarily profane
This show is so boring. Just two girls taking in whiny voices about a case with each sentence laced with as many F bombs as they can. Don’t waste your time

    Love these incredible women
This podcast always makes everyday a little more bearable. I know that’s a little weird considering that this is a true crime podcast but it’s true. I love these wonderful, funny, intelligent women and I am so happy I found this podcast.

    Love ya
Small gripe on the David Carpenter episode. He was born in 1930 so he would have gone through school in the 1930s-40s, not the 1950s you repeatedly mentioned.

    Actually a liberal podcast
I started listening in 2021 when I was looking for a new true crime podcast. I’m a PROUD Christian and republican and throughout the years I’ve just overlooked a lot of their opinions and rants but I gotta say, releasing an episode called 666 beast or whatever DURING HOLY WEEK is where I draw the line. I even bought Alana’s book that was trash because she just couldn’t give a normal thriller, no, she had to insert her views and opinions in almost every part of it. It went to the trash and I’m done giving this podcast my listen. Good riddance, goodbye.

    Too many side stories
love listening to murder mystery shows, however biggest downside to this is all the cursing .. for no reason .. and i can play the game how many times does the host say like during this 30 min story .. please stop getting sidetracked with all the banter just cover the story do not recommend
  • ashandemmaT
    A favorite!
Update: 4-17-25- still a listener and still love it ALL! The rants, side quest conversations, the way you cover the topics, the care for the victims, the hate for the guilty. This was my first true crime podcast I listened to. I have listened to others and appreciate their styles but Morbid is full of personality and positivity on such serious topics. I enjoy their storytelling style. Love it! Update: I’ve listened to almost the entire roster of shows! i still love this podcast, the way they share opinions, real life happenings with them and the world and everything in between.

    Not funny

    Starting to get irritated
Used to love this podcast, but the cutting up and long drawn out side conversations are really starting to get on my nerves. Have your side conversations at home before you record. The cases are really interesting, but I’ve had to cancel listening so many times because it’s getting OUT of CONTROL! Stawwppp it!!!!!
  • Frontier Hero!
    i am obsessed.
i have been listening for about two years and absolutely love ash and alaina so much and this pod. I love hearing their options and the banter:))) I know some people don’t like the rants but I live for them and love how they tell the cases. I wish they did more missing persons or recent cases but otherwise I love

Lady GAGA is a zionist. I wish you used your platform in an anti Zionist way. You can’t be THAT uneducated not to know there’s a Genocide happening all over the world and Gaga is complicit.
