PhaylleureHighly effective trailerHeard the trailer a couple of times during the Amelia Podcast and got hooked. Just wonderful chaos.

John-A-STrue ArtThis show is truly a masterpiece of comedy, storytelling and world building. Season 6 alone may be my favorite piece of content across any media ever. Truly these 4 bumbling idiots (with love) deserve more praise for their work than any of us listeners could possibly give.

You need to take truth 101This is amazingThis story is amazing. Even nine seasons in I am still surprised by what happens. If I’m feeling down, I listen to this. Abdul and Paul laughing in the background and Jessica’s antics with fat Billy can cheer anyone up. It gets emotional a little bit, but it just amplifies the story. Keep it going!

mothroMy fave of many ttrpg podcaststhis show has such excellent and interesting world building… season 1 “wi-fi hotspots 😹” season 9 “wi-fi hotspots 😿😿😿” luv from mothro

ceol3531earnest, lovely, stupidIt’s a beautiful thing to see players and a GM commit so deeply to their characters and world. This team embodies the collaborative promise of Dungeon World in a way that is truly inspiring, even (especially?) when they are supporting each other on deeply stupid things like the piss-recycling robes of a certain order of monks. Yeah, there’s a lot of piss in this show. Don’t worry; you’ll love it.
-
AvgalanSimply the bestThe best collaborative world building from a group of friends that love and trust each other, going on an adventure that’s mostly funny, a bit mysterious, and sometimes heartbreaking. They deserve all the stars the Lillian and Chimes can give them. @avgalan

BeaFeathersLove love loveMy favorite crew of RPGers! Hilarious and creative :)

WeristhyraSpout Lore transcends comedy, TTRPG and CanadiansIt has heartbreaking as well as funny moments of improvised genius and is the epitome of Canadian comedy history. Kids in the Hall, stand aside. Spout Lore is better. It’s not just table top role playing, it’s not just real friends doing a let’s play, it’s so much more. It’s not too late to get caught up on this roller coaster. The friends are truly world building as they go along, as they are all skilled and literate storytellers. A love for 80s culture is important, but not required. I’m “BestAndBrightestTheyMayNotB” on discord, hit me up, the fans are fun too.

kbbaus27Hilarious and Emotional story filled with rich charactersI found Spout Lore randomly and I'm so glad I did. I binged 9 seasons faster than I would have thought possible lol. DM Shawn weaves an epic tale while the whole cast build a complex, lore filled world. The chemistry in the group is insane and it makes it feel like you're in the room, playing ttrpgs with a group of friends. Can't recommend this gem highly enough.
-
bakerk41Amazing and HilariousI can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to the show! You could probably listen 100 times and not only still be laughing along, but also pick up new details you missed the first time. The creativity and dedication that’s gone into the show is duly noted!

Jansen M.The True Successor to TAZ: BalanceIf you've been yearning for a podcast that seamlessly blends raunchy humor, the magic of found family, and imaginative world-building, your search ends here. Spout Lore is a comedic goldmine that captures the heart and soul of what made early TAZ so special and fun. The cast's cozy chemistry brings to life characters that feel like long-lost friends. Abdul, Jessica, and Paul's razor-sharp comedic timing and unique voices infuse every season with a wild mix of hilarity and emotion. GM Shawn O'Hara's ability to craft rich, dynamic narratives in response to the players' weirdest whims is nothing short of astonishing, providing the perfect playground for a high-fantasy story that's as unpredictable as it is satisfying. Tuk, Vyng, and Billie are a rock-solid trio whose unbreakable bond is the driving force behind their chaotic adventures. Prepare to laugh, cry, and cheer as this band of idiots unintentionally re-shapes the world around them, one absurd mistake at a time.

Eddief419One of the bestLove this podcast, love the chemistry, love the lore, love the roleplay, love the often dumb humor. It’s the kind of cast where I would follow and enjoy whatever they do, as they come to the end of this years long campaign and move onto the next.

LeadingBarley52My favorite podcastBeen listening since the beginning, Jess Paul Abdul and Shawn are so funny together. Great story telling and the improv is hilarious!

PR5629Fabulous EntertainmentJessica, Paul, Shawn, and Tuk make for great listening - with a rich story filled with interesting places and characters. It’s ribald humor a delight, 5 well deserved stars for a fun show!
-
Joe OrnsteinHighly SusportableThe entire cast is hilarious and heartwarming. Shawn is a skilled GM, and I’ve picked up a lot of techniques for running my own games by listening to him. Keep up the good work!
-
S4MW0Best actual play podcastPerfect balance of mechanics, story, shenanigans. Great chemistry between the performers. I've been listening for years because it makes me feel like one of the gang hanging out at game night. More than once I've had to stifle a laugh to not look crazy on my NYC commute.

I'm not a mouse reviewer.Funniest actual-play podcast this side of the Highspear Mall!Long time listener, first time writey reviewer here! Spoutlore has been instrumental to my academic career as the source for my study-session background noise! It’s incredibly rare to find a show that balances everything as well as this. You’ve got crude humor, clever humor, some of the most creative worldbuilding I’ve seen in a while, and Meers! For added enrichment, the Spout Lore community has been one of the sweetest communities I’ve ever been apart of. It’s amazing seeing cast and fans interact in such a positive way, especially with the fanart that gets shared around! Also did I mention that there’s sick songs (like folksy in-world tunes, and then Sabotage also) that are written for the show! (Except Sabotage, which was not written for the show.) What are you waiting for NERD, LISTEN ALREADY!!
-
AshveiraHilarious and heartfeltBeen listening on repeat. Spout Lore is full of inventive and fully collaborative world building using the Dungeon World ttrpg system. Truly one of the best examples of Powered by the Apocalypse actual plays. Love it!
-
lesscreativethanmostSpout Lore?? More like Spout (please give me) More!!!I spent all of my creative juices (synovial fluid) on the title. Show’s good. -spicybranbuns

SwpughWhat a jewel of a showFunny, unhinged, well-paced, and hits you in the gut with poignant emotional connections just when you need it…what’s not to love? Also - did I mention *unhinged*?

GWiz23Y’all have really grownNearly at the end of Season 5. Y’all have really grown in confidence w/ improvisation. So funny. Lotta “toilet”/“sex”-related humor, which some might not be into, but I think it’s hilarious. One of my favorite things is the mechanic that allows players to take a very active role in worldbuilding. It’s so lovely and so refreshing. Y’all—and HELLA other storytelling/ adventure RPG podcasts—actually inspired me to bring friends together for a fun creative outlet (Fool’s Gambit - A narrative play podcast), so thanks for that, truly! 🙌 Love seeing your progress. And so excited to hear more of y’all’s evolution, though it’ll def be a little bit of a sad day when I’m caught up. 🥲

Bubbagump95Amazing podcast wonderful storyI can say that this podcast is the absolute best I have heard this year. I have binged listened to the entire series in a matter of weeks. I am anxiously waiting for new episodes. This show has the perfect amount of comedy, drama, action, and suspense with Sean’s cliffhangers. You guys are amazing and make my days through work pass with out a trace. I love everything about you guys!!

-
Chris LamkeWorth trying even if you prefer more traditional D&DI'm mostly into actual play D&D podcasts, but I gave this podcast a try and I'm glad I did. The players and DM are creative and hilarious.
-
scummer420noscope69The greatest podcast of all podcastsI always want to know what is going to happen next, fascinating, fun and always absolutely hilarious
-
NeddyRooseveltGreat performers, great storyIt makes such a difference in an actual play when the cast understands the importance of being a good performer in addition to being a good gamer. The crew’s history with performance is apparent, and it takes this show to the next level.
-
mythosculptsLaughing & CryingThe first GD true play to make me cry. They say the location of your dreams is your true home, man I miss the NW. I’ve listened through all seasons at least thrice. As I am a freelancer in the gaming industry. Find your inspiration- become a Spoutlorian. Great work. Cheers
-
Kttzgreat showrecommended by dungeons and daddies fan, and i’ve been bingeing it ever since
-
NeetaCrocksA literal delightThis entire show is delightful, whimsical, ridiculously funny and silly. I usually struggle with the beginning portion of actual plays where everything is super goofy and there’s not much lore happening. Episode one- all these wonderful people are making up the world on the fly and it opened my third eye and I was hooked!! I’ve been listening non stop for the last three weeks to get caught up. I just can’t believe they’re still making episodes with the same characters after so long. I hope it never ends ❤️
-
kbonezzzThe best! This is the best podcast out there. And it just gets better every single episode. I don’t want this podcast to be anything other than what it’s been trying to be lately
-
Tinymill321Fat Billy is a fourthlingIf Billy is half the size of a halfling he is a fourthling
-
DgitfhklpgsqxbiGreat show! No ads!!!!Not only is the cast amazing, they are beautiful simple people. There are no ads, which make this the MOST bingable show in this world.
-
halfwayokayOne of A KindThe gang truly cares about the world they built together. It’s funny, smart, captivating, and full of heart. Nothing else like it!
-
Meg8061The best actual play everConsistently the most hilarious and well acted actual play podcast I’ve ever heard. I’ve listened to every episode and the shared worldbuilding and respect the players and GM have for each other as players, as characters and as storytellers is second to none. And again it’s the most funny actual play podcast in my opinion, head and shoulders above the competition on all fronts. The fact that they play Dungeon World makes it a refreshing break from the hordes of D&D 5e podcasts, and they use the DW system extremely well, as a springboard for storytelling and surprising collaborative worldbuilding without getting bogged down in number crunching. Did I mention it’s funny? The point is please listen to this show, you won’t regret it.
-
Gluey ClarkiaExcellent and funLots of fun and some wild storytelling
-
That_KatAbsolute DelightHilarious show with great chemistry between the players and GM. Love the world building and the goofs. I can’t get enough of it!
-
Rahj73Hidden gem!How have I missed this D&D podcast for 9 seasons??!! It is played by some fiercely witty participants. You will also be kicking yourself for not starting sooner!
-
OgdentalEasy listening, quick addictionAs a story podcast binger, I needed something to quench my thirst after finishing other dnd style podcasts (Adventure Zone, Dungeons and Daddies, NADDPOD) and gave this a halfhearted try. Jokes on me because I’m hooked. Took me til season 4 to review for some reason but here we are! If you find it hard to get into, it’s probably because you miss characters from other pods. Don’t let it stop you! You will fall deeply in love with these idiots in due time. I have to give a shout-out to the GM too because I have no clue how he wrangles these rapscallions.
-
Somerandomguy26 stars, maybe 7.This show is easily one of the best RPG podcasts out there. If I could give it more stars, I would.
-
Luke St Clairthe Best of the BestThis show is amazing. An enthralling story with incredible original ideas, impressive continuity, and it’s the funniest podcast I’ve listened to in years. The players and GM genuinely care about the story, the characters, and each other. It’s both crude and wholesome at the same time. Could not recommend more.
-
BennyburrMaybe the best chemistry in table top podcastsThis show is a really great show. It’s mostly funny, but I have found myself running the spectrum of emotions listening over the years. The collaborative world building is delightful and the cast does an amazing job riffing off each other to build an really cool story.
-
RRRTR1Thoughtful, heartfelt, creative, exciting, meta, scata…gorical high fantasy fun!I’m not a podcast guy. But these hilarious dorks wrangled me in. First podcast I’ve been a true fan of. I started listening to learn dungeon world, and stayed for the exciting plots, hilarious hi-jinx, and well done character and world building. They keenly deliver on narrative promises made, even if made with based on the sublimely dumb (hilarious) choices like wordplay or unruly bowels—Basically the fantasy podcast equivalent of breaking bad. Fully fleshed out characters and places. Constantly surprised/not surprised by character choices as they are reasonable and lived in. Even if it is using bodily fluids to fight cabbage skunks. And the locale descriptions are so evocative, it feels like I step right into a beautiful place like Goldstream Park every time I tune in. Most importantly, they are having fun. Contagious fun. Makes checking in with them every week a joy.
-
Tdmz7332The best real-play tabletop everY’all have gotten me through a rough couple of years. Thanks for existing and being awesome ❤️
-
dboy_ochoLoving this showIt’s so hard to find shows to binge… I’ve had a hole in my heart waiting for more Adventure Zone and NADDPOD. This show is absolutely what I needed! The world-building is a perfect balance between hilarious and genuinely interesting. After 4 episodes, I was already in love with the characters and players behind them. Thank you guys so much, I’m ripping through the backlog and enjoying ever moment. The theme song takes a bit of getting used to and could turn people off, but I SWEAR it’s worth it!
-
bozokeoyStill mad about the sewerThis one time the Spout Lore crew started their session in a sewer and I had 6 gummy bears left to eat from my bag albanese brand gummy bears. I thought, "Gee they're in a sewer and they love potty humor so I'll eat a gummy bear each time they make a joke about excrement. Maybe something crazy will happen and I'll have all of my gummy bears in my mouth at the same time, like a party! It'll be a fun game." At the end of the episode, I still had 5 gummy bears. Which is how many stars I'm giving in this review. Yes I am still mad but I love this podcast.
-
HandyalchemistMy Favorite RPG ShipI wait every other week for this podcast to come out, I love every aspect of this show. I have to say, Ving and Tuk are the best parents and I ship them every week, can we finally just have them kiss?!
