    Great podcast!
Fantastic series. I listened to 30 episodes over 10 days. I feel lucky to have been able to tag along on the Dead Suns adventure and I’m still going strong. I had heard about Starfinder but haven’t played an RPG since the mid 80s. I look forward to listening all the way to the end. Thank you Stephen, Bob, Chris, Jason, and John

    Love this show
The cast is a lot of fun and Stephen the GM is great. A great real play.

    Great Shows
Ive listened to all of Glass Cannon’s Podcasts, this one is very well structured, produced very well, goes with the flow, limited banter.

    Love this series
Characters grow on you. Action is fantastic.

    Entertainment
They are so much fun to listen to, especially as I GM three ring circus alongside them.
  • gtrdig
    Meh
They spend way too much time arguing about rules. I didn’t come to a podcast to learn rules I come to listen to a story. Also, the GM comes off as quite controlling which annoys me as well

    Great Show
The GM and characters do such a good job at role playing. You can see how much fun they are having. I’m a dnd and Shadowrun guy but this pathfinder cast is top tier. Even better than glass cannon. Keep doing what you are doing!!

    Rules
Probably the tightest actual play of star finder with regards to the rules. If you want to hear how the game should be played, listen to this.

Great Starfinder and Pathfinder Actual Play Podcast by Veterans of the game
A great podcast of a Starfinder Adventure Path that has morphed to include Pathfinder and Pathfinder 2nd Ed play as well. These folks have been playing for decades and their skill and love for the game is obvious. They play by the rules no matter how complicated it can become and try to get it right with no hand waving. As an added bonus, you can hear some great interviews, some Paizo authors and creators dropping by to play NPCs, and some wonderful GM, Player, and even Podcasting tips. Strongly recommend this one.

    Unlikely fan
I had little interest in Space fantasy, but like listening to podcasts at work. I am hooked on the Fabulous Five. Up to episode 30 and my six year old keeps asking about Chddr mark 3.

    Awesome
Great podcast. I listen to a lot of actual play, and also podcasts on other topics. I find the RFC podcast to be excellent and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good story, banter, and good advice for role playing.

    Fun and informative
Started back in episode 1. They have gotten better with time. The Starfinder game is always a hoot and I love hearing what I know my home game sounds like. Really enjoying the Pathfinder 2 broadcasts for the more Immersive game play. Also a chance to hear the new rules in plays rocks Do not miss the interviews the inside the industry in-sites are great. They also provide some interesting lore hints at times

Great Sound Quality and Nice Sound Prompts for easy podcast following
Started listening as preparation for GMing the Dead Suns AP and this group is very entertaining to listen to. They don’t do voices but they are funny and their set up has good sound quality and useful sound prompts for a lot of actions like rolling, crits, crit fails, healing, making the combat particularly easy to follow as a podcast. (Compared to streams that are coverted to podcasts)

    Finally caught up
Really enjoy this podcast. Inspired me to start my own online Dead Sun campaign with friends because it’s hard to get them to the table on a regular basis if at all. Thanks Roll for Combat guys, look forward the Pathfinder v2 podcast.
  • WanderingMonster
    Authentic table experience
This podcast has great audio quality but doesn’t cut out a lot of the real table discussion like most podcasts do. The players don’t take themselves too seriously and this group has a more lighthearted feel than most. CHDDR is the best!

    Great Podcast!
This podcast was my introduction into actual play podcasts and it’s still my favorite. I really like the tactical aspect and the obscure pop culture reference.

Great Resource for a Starfinder GM
I'm currently on episode 56, so I've been listening for a while. I'm GMing the Dead Suns adventure path and have found this entertaining to listen to during my commute time to work. The podcast maintains a consistent production quality across the many episodes and is well done. I like hearing in advance how another group has run through this adventure, especially seeing how an experienced GM like Stephen holds things together when the players go about things differently than the module author intended (like sneaking in the back way and running through encounters out of the expected order). Overall it's given me a good idea of where I need more preparation before running my own party through the adventure. Some additional resources are also available at the Roll for Combat discord channel (special items like the Loot Box of Wonder and Stitch Spider). The GM and PC tips at the end are generally useful, and I'm an experieced Pathfinder and D&D gamer.

    Stephen is an A++ GM
First and foremost this podcast is a treasure trove of knowledge and laughs when it comes to playing the starfinder rpg. The GM, Stephen is a great GM who, in every show offers great insights on how to make the game more fun for all involved. He regularly adds NPC guests that make the game lively and unpredictable. The banter between the players is pretty great and they make each encounter interesting. Excellent content!
  • the_real_IG88
    Average
An average podcast. Some good things (DM additions to story, very few rules “lawyer” arguments) and some not so great (all NPCs sound same, difficult to tell which character is which, some bad jokes, character voices might help). Good perspective on how players might approach this adventure if you are running as GM. (But spoilers if you are playing). Five episodes in and I still don’t know character themes or feats. I’d like these more fleshed out or part of the story. The group doesn’t seem too into the role play aspect, and might be seen more as a “murder hobo” type. I will keep listening and hope for more.

    Amazing!!! :D
I found this podcast about a month ago and as soon as I started listening I fell in love with the group. I love stephen’s gm-ing, bob plays a wonderful chatter box, Jason plays a great academic and so forth. I have completely caught up on all of the podcasts now (up to 50) and was compelled to go out and get the Dead Suns Adventure Path myself just so could run it as well and compare notes between my crew and theirs. Has been amazing, keep up the good work guys!

A Bunch of Wise Radical Dudes
This podcast is awesome! It’s a bunch of guys with over 175 years of gaming experience (between the bunch) learning a new game that they do an awesome job teaching. These guys are rules as read yet still have incredible role play and really care about their community! Great jobs guys!
  • VikingBlast
Technical and Snarky... just like a con game
I’ve listened to every episode and don’t know what took me so long to review it. I love the podcast. The characters feel less like voice actors and more like people you’d Game with at a con. There’s the guy that gets under your skin, the funny guy, the guy that doesn’t say enough, but always comes through when needed, and the guy that makes you feel like an idiot for not doing it the way he would have done it. It’s great and it’s REALLY helped me DM my own Starfinder game.
  • Zinnfan
    Needing a new adjective (positive)
This podcast is absolutely fantastic! If I had to boil it down, that’s my opinion. But the biggest contributor to to my love for RFC is it lets me stay in my role playing world. I understand the temptation to comment on current events but too many podcasts seem to do so to a point that seems deliberate. I hope you understand what I mean. I don’t mind the inescapable coincidence but going out of ones way to say “I hate ____” breaks this game’s principle so deliberately that I just can’t abide. Thanks a bunch. Whether or not we agree on other worldly bull**** I don’t care, you all are wonderful humans and I absolutely love what you’ve done for me and others’ well earned free time.

    Great StarFinder Podcast
I've been listening to this podcast since it started. Great crew of well-experienced players. The PCs keep it fun, throw in some monkey wrenches to keep the GM on his toes. The GM also provides GM/Player tips at the end of the podcast - he offers some great suggestions. Plus the GM has contact with Paizo devs and invites them into the game from time to time. Besides the podcast, Roll for Combat has an active Discord community to chat about gaming topics and do some play-by-post gaming. So check out this podcast, Discord community and wealth of pop-culture references - it's a fun show.

    great starfinder podcast
The crew is very nice to listen to and the voiceover guy is great.

    Huge Fan!
Though I have never been a podcast fan, I have found myself looking forward to each Tuesday when a new Roll For Combat episode is released into the wild. These are five guys I can identify with--all 40+ gamers who have been playing pen and paper RPG's since at least the early 80's. I feel like they are people I know, despite having never played with them. They would all easily fit right in with every gaming group I have ever been part of. MOREOVER, this podcast has heart. These are five normal guys enjoying themselves playing Starfinder, and they have a great sense of humor and an inquisitiveness about their adventures that I enjoy. The podcast itself has a nice production value, and the audio quality is always clear and easy to listen to.

    Starfinder!
Love listening to the podcast and hearing your group. Also the GM and Player tips are very helpful.

    Great Podcast
Excellent podcast. I really like the guys technical proficiency. I’ve been playing Starfinder from almost the start, and have learned a lot from these guys. Steven’s GM tips are super helpful as well.

It took me a while to warm up to it
It took me a while to warm up to it but I’m glad I stuck with it. The personalities are closer to authentic than what I like to call a radio personality. It was a little rough at first until I got comfortable with them now it’s like listening to a regular game played by a group that I know. I’ve never played Pathfinder nor Starfinder but there is no issue with following along. They release a lot of content and are very active on their Discord. The suggestions I make to improve the podcast are more/better sound effects and music and more consistent pacing. They play a pre-written, purchased adventure so the pacing may not be able to be improved. Overall great job. Thank you for all the time/work you put into the Podcast.
  • Longthyme
    Fun!
I really enjoy this podcast. The GM/PC tips and tricks in every episode are great, and the group dynamics are fun too.
  • Gegog23
    Very well done podcast
Good characters, super quick and easy flow, lots of fun. I started listening to see how other GM’s managed the adventure path differently than I did but now I’m just hooked on the story, even though I already know how my party handled it and what the rest of the story involves. Lots of fun, keep it up guys.

    Friends playing and teasing
There are a few Starfinder real play podcasts out there now. What sets Roll For Combat different is you can hear the friendships these players have in there comments and ripping. Kind of thing only true friends have.
  • sarfa182
    Good stuff
Recently started playing Starfinder myself. Good to hear how other players handle the adventures. I have enjoyed it. Plenty of laughs.

    Great Introduction for Starfinder
I'm just getting back into gaming after taking a decade off. I was a Traveller player way back and thought I'd give Starfinder a try. Roll for Combat is a great way to learn the basic game mechanics. Kind of like sitting in on a verteran game. I've learned a lot from this podcast and not just Starfinder. There's a lot of GM advice tidbits that I'll use too. Highly recommended!
  • p-dags
    Not worth your time
Tried listening and couldn’t get into it. The players all sounds muddled. The GM sounds like he is reading straight from the books, very monotone. A lot better actual plays out there
  • Corellis
    Good interaction and it’s Clean
Found this just after getting into Starfinder. It’s so nice to hear an actual play podcast with a group of friends. A huge bonus is how clean and devoid of horrible language it is... typically what goes along with an actual play podcast is pretty bad. Safe for my 9 year old. Good on ya guys and keep up the good work.
  • Patrick.311
Great actual play podcast for all types of players
First off, i love this podcast. Since I stumbled onto it a couple episodes into season 1 I’ve been a diligent listener. This podcast is funny, interesting, informative, and just overall a good listen. Shenanigans are had... frequently. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun actual play to sink their teeth into or sate their hunger for more. The group of experienced players go through the official adventure series released by paizo, and in addition, Stephen (the gm) goes over helpful tips and tricks for players and gms alike (which I appreciate as a new gm). TL:DR give this podcast a shot, you won’t regret it!
  • Egamma
    Nice actual play Scifi podcast
This podcast has a very nice balance of technical combat, good roleplaying, and GM advice at the end or beginning of each episode.
  • Bearded Kraken
    Pretty Great
Great Starfinder actual play podcast. Rule heavy for sure, so it’s a good way to learn the system while being entertained. Very important to me as well is the excellent sound quality. These guys are nailing it.

    Caught up and loving it
Found out about Starfinder at PAX Unplugged and decided to start a campaign myself. In the meantime I went searching for a podcast with someone already playing and stumbled upon this one, Roll for Combat. I am loving the show so far. Everyone playing reminds me of when I play any RPG with my friends and it’s edited well to keep the flow of the game going pretty smoothly while still getting a good bit of banter in between. Also love the GM tips because Starfinder will be my first time playing an RPG where I am the GM. Keep up the good work guys and I look forward to seeing what happens to the gang.

    This Show is Pretty Amazing!
Originaly, I was looking for a podcast that I could listen to in order to help me better understand Starfinder and how the mechanics worked. With me having a full time job and little time to actually read the book, I needed to search for audio material to listen to as I worked. I quickly came across this podcast and was instantly pleased with the entire setup of the show ranging from the well edited sessions to the extremely informative GM notes. Even the other cast members of the show have been very entertaining to listen to. I can't stop chuckling at some of the adventures they've had so far. This podcast alone has helped me better understand the system AS WELL as become a better GM without even looking for those answers. I hope this podcast runs for many years to come and I eagerly wait for the next episode to come out! Great job guys!!!
  • Fellacopter
    Tried it again
Still awful. I want to like this podcast but the audio quality is terrible. It sounds like a Skype call on a dollar store headset. It seems like the GM doesn’t even want to be there. Look elsewhere for your Starfinder podcast needs.

    Roll for Run
This podcast is fun for a couple of reasons. 1. You can tell that the group around the table really knows each other and can poke fun/argue/be a real, everyday, common table and still meet weekly. I really feel like its just me listening in on a group of friends. I relly like that. 2. It has hellped me be a better GM for my own game. The tips that the GM gives at the end of each episode really helps me out. As well as hearing tips on making games better. Over all a fun game to listen to and learn from. Thanks for the great podcast.
  • The GM Horologist
    absolutely entertaining
Roll for Combat is awesome! I look forward to listening to the new episode every week. The team provides great entertainment from humerous banter to friendly arguments to GM advice and interviews with Piazo staff. Roll for Combat is a must listen to podcast, plus you need to stick with them to hear what CHDRR is going to do with his new upgrades.
  • Pennamechris
    Starfinder
I was looking for some Starfinder gameplay after we started a homebrew game and ran across this one. Good little podcast. Really loving the character. Some good DM tips too.
  • garza6425
Wish I found this in another year
The only Starfinder podcast that I have liked so far! Wish I found this much later that way there was a much larger backlog. Thanks for the wonderful content!
  • s0ulrider
    Great Stuff!
Love the pod cast, and love to hear other pathfinder players working into SF as the rules are so close until they aren’t. I love the GM advice as well as talking about the rules. I think it would help in the future as I have yet to play SF. You guys do a great job and I’m learning a lot.
  • Warp Asylum
    Just GREAT!
Thanks for doing these, it's nice to hear the game run in a fun and not too serious manner. It's great to hear the rules related discussions, and the player banter. You can tell that everyone involved really enjoys playing together. You keep making 'em, and I'll keep listening to 'em! : )
  • Ice Mutt
    Great for GMs and Players
Roll for Combat’s play-as-written and learn-with-us approach using the Dead Suns AP has been a fantastic asset for myself as a GM and player moving from systems such as Pathfinder over to Starfinder. There are numerous subtlety differences in the systems and Stephen’s group does their best to be as accurate as possible. I mostly homebrew my stories, but listening helps me provide mental notes for the mechanics. Thank you so much!!
  • brokencartel
    know their stuff
its an excellent listen, guys are knowledgeable, and the tangents are funny. my only downside is that while this isn't a podcast where they do voices; i do wish they put more emotions while playing. that being said that is the only negitive in a stellar role play podcast. keep it up
