dancin babeGreat ideas, too many addsI really love the tools that this podcast offers. But you have to listen to so many advertisements in order to get to his message. I get that adds help fund the show but it’s pretty distracting. That’s my feedback.

I hate this APP!!!!!!!!@#@Stressful tone for a “calm parenting” podcastSo I want to really like this podcast, but I feel like the podcaster is really worked up and almost yelling. Perhaps it’s just passion, but it’s sort of a stressful listen. I’d like to get the same information but maybe a less aggressive tone.

jordydmeToo heavy on the sales.I like the info. I’ve been listening for a short while. I think the content is good. I’m a bit put off by the heavy sales pitch. It shouldn’t be necessary. Even the ad jammed in the middle to plug a sponsor was jarring. Like it came out of nowhere. You don’t need to sell so hard. It’s off-putting. I feel like I just walked into a car dealership on weekend.

CK OjSaving my life!I love this podcast, I am so grateful for Kirk's wisdom and expertise. Kirk is funny, direct and informative - he conveys concepts in a way that makes sense, and I'm feeling encouraged as I listen to each session.

Zoey ReaganI want to like itI want to like this but he just keeps talking about why you should buy his program

SimsTribe3Exactly what I’ve been searching forThis podcast is exactly what I’ve been on the search for. The content is eye-opening, funny, practical & informative. I’m already applying what I’ve learned since finding this podcast & I'm so grateful!!

szdowdTransformationalI’m 5min into finding this podcast. It’s relatable, actionable and so much more. I can’t wait to listen to all the podcasts and add more tools to my parenting toolbox. So thankful for Calm Parenting’s approach.

The adhd is from meThank youThis is my first ever podcast review, because this podcast has meant that much. After listening to Kirk for the first time being interviewed on someone else’s podcast, I picked my son up from school, and he told me he had yet another detention. I was able to turn a time that could have ended in disconnect and shame into a time of love and connection and learning. I will forever be grateful for the integrity, honesty, and candid genuine supportive advice.

MybrainisenourmasnowEncouragingBest podcast on parenting I’ve come across. No nonsense, straight to the point. No shame. Really good stuff. Also, he says you can email him, so I did. Sure enough, he wrote back with a personal and in-depth email. What a legend. 10/10.

bbear8716Life changingIf you have neuro atypical kids, listen NOW. My son has ADHD and ODD and this podcast will teach you techniques you can use immediately to help them (and you, yourself) to deal with the many day-to-day challenges that arise when parenting these bright, wonderful kids. My son has even listened to one or two with me and has said “is he talking about me?” Which is of course the same reaction I had upon listening to the very first episode. Do yourself a favor and listen. And if you implement these things your life (and your kids lives) will improve.

hubiekPractical and realTruly appreciate the honesty and application given in these podcasts!

jrg_lmnopPricelessI have never bothered to write a review for a podcast in my life. I’m spending the time now because no other podcast has been so life changing. Such valuable insights into how the minds of adults and children work. Can’t believe this is free.

smithgirlsandcaUnreal!Let me start by saying I’ve NEVER written a review for a podcast. I’ve listened to podcasts for almost 8 years and have never written on one. This is the one! I’m blown away! We have paid therapists and tried medication and pray continuously for our kids. This podcast is the most straight foreword, tangibly helpful, inclusive and inspiring parenting podcasts I’ve ever listened to. We are purchasing the full plan without a doubt!
-
BibleTeachingBoyMomThankful ParentsMy husband and I are grateful to have discovered your podcast. We listened to a few episodes when we got away for a weekend and we felt understood, less guilty, motivated, and we felt encouraged that we were already implementing some things so we weren’t completely off base. We’ve already put some tips into practice since returning a week ago and they’ve been 100% successful every time. Mind blowing. Thank you for your help. We will continue to listen for more!

bradleyruhlhoustonImmensely impactfulMy brain is being re-wired with each podcast. Immediate, practical, down to earth insight and advice. Kirk is a straight shooter who also is humble! I cannot say enough great things about this podcast and how much it has helped my family, especially a son that has a disability. Thank you!!!!

TG_COChanged our houseThis podcast has changed the way our house operates. I was too soft before. Not enough boundaries and eventually I’d flip to the other extreme and lose my temper. It wasn’t working for anyone. Kirk has taught me how to lovingly put my foot down when needed. Every episode leaves me with an aha that I use in real life. Thank you, Kirk, for all the help.
-
atsamesReally sensible advice!Love this podcast. Very practical and straight-forward. I don’t understand why the reviewer on Feb 10,2024 thinks he “picks on” homeschoolers. That listener must not realize Kirk speaks at homeschool conventions and has been a guest on homeschool podcasts, and was a homeschooler himself. Previous episodes from early 23/24 school year were even specifically about this and completely resonated with me as a homeschooling mom myself.
-
Small town rentalHappy BirthdayI will listen to the ads! Your podcast is so worth it!
-
mjfriendlyCalm Parenting PodcastBest parenting podcast I’ve found for practical, inspiring advice and information. From a mom of 5 kids ages 9-adult.
-
HookedonDancing360Great podcastSuper great podcast!!! Please don't pick on homeschoolers though. we are definitely not all the same, just like public schoolers aren't...and we are doing the best we can🤣
-
GainzDTeen sonWe found Kirk at a homeschool convention and it was by far the best experience there. We have not one but 3 strong willed kids 16-8 and over the years we have leaned so much and continue to grow and apply as much as we learn. This is such fundamental parenting no tricks or long books just straight real world examples on how to best connect with your kids for a healthy, loving long lasting relationship. We think we need to change our kids but a lot of it is inner work and how we see our strong willed children, so we can find the best approach for building a strong respectful relationship between family. So so worth every minute!
-
scottinthe503So thankfulNo book, no counseling, no “friendly advice” helped with our strong-willed child until we found Kirk’s program and this podcast.
-
lauren_wiscoBEST PARENTING PODCAST EVERThis podcast has literally changed my parenting and my relationship with my “strong-willed” child. It has helped me to understand my child better and to understand how best to discipline him. The best part is…IT WORKS! Everything he says is SPOT ON for parenting a child with ADHD. While all of this is great, his podcast has made me realize that I am actually a great parent, I just didn’t know the best ways to parent him. I’m a teacher and I use his strategies with my students with much success as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your gifts and wisdom with the world❤️

Endless_Summer 167223Parenting advice for practical scenariosI love the way that Kirk never puts parents down, but instead gives advice that can easily be applied to real life advice. I chuckle out loud while listening to the podcast because nearly every episode he monologues a scenario between a strong-willed child and their parent and it’s as though he’s been a fly on the wall in my own home! This podcast has helped me so much and encouraged me to focus on getting through the trying times (in a calm manner). Thanks a million, Kirk!

Ashley LashaPractical tips to this parenting gig and not just words on a page.I listen to several parenting podcasts just to renew my mom heart. This podcast is my favorite for practical, real situation, advice. I love how he says “expect this behavior” and “stop being so shocked!” but he actually helps us with how to do that. I have even emailed them several times and they respond so quickly. I recommend this podcast to every parent I know.
-
Olilie_bearMy favorite podcastIf you are a parent, listen to this. It will help you I love this podcast and listen to it almost daily
-
She Who Rides FarClear and direct!Thank you for empowering me to give my child clear, direct boundaries and actions that don’t break down her spirit but help her thrive in the real world.
-
r SchumannDirect and honestIt’s not always easy to hear the truth about needing to change as a parent but he does it in such an encouraging way. It’s also really comforting knowing you are not alone in parenting strong willed children. I have learned to appreciate my son so much more and understand how I can change to be a better parent. Thanks Kirk!
-
RaisingFernsExtremely helpful! No nonsense- Kirk jumps right into the topic and I really appreciate his efficiency! He gives scripts along with his explanations which I find especially helpful. Five stars. Highly recommend.
-
Kdhall03Already hooked!I’ve only listened to 15 minutes of this podcast and I already can’t wait to hear more. Love the practicality of it. Taking notes!

Erin shenk“Kirk says. . . “My husband had been teasing me because every day now I say something that starts with “Kirk says . . . “ This podcast has been helping our family tremendously by giving very practical advice and challenging is to change how we view our child. Kirk is straightforward and realistic, but what I appreciate most is that he is encouraging and positive and wants you to enjoy your kids, which is just so helpful. I also love that they make it personal and invite you to reach out to them, which shows that they’re real and relatable and really want to see people succeeding. Thank you Kirk! Erin

estherqReally good, unpretentious and funnyThis show is fantastic. I can see how this would work on most children. Other parenting podcasts are so enervating and out of touch — an unachievable standard for the parent. What I love most about this podcast is that the host sides with the child, normalizes child behavior that might worry adults (love the “it would be weird if…” formulations and the “of course he or she is doing to…. He’s a kid!!!!”) and offers really good lines and scripts that he rehearses so that they are more likely to stick. He understands child psychology and what makes kids tick. I feel that other podcasts adhere to one parenting philosophy or another and the end goal becomes filtering every issue through that lens. Please keep them coming and thank you.

EphesianSo helpful and honest !Thank you for the kind and firm challenge to me as a parent and mom! It’s been just exactly what I’ve needed to hear for parenting strategies, insight into my son, and great advice on ways I need to change!

Tina-Louise WallaceLifesaver with a laugh!!!I need to start leaving reviews more, I remembered this one because of Kirk’s Son, Casey. I have been listening for a good amount of time that I feel I can give an honest, genuine review. I will start by sharing that I am a mom of 3, ages 4, 5, and 9 two of which have special needs so needless to say I have my hands full. I have tried so many books, podcasts, webinars, conferences, and complete parenting programs. The amount of time I spend you would probably think I’m doing pretty good at being a mom…. Unfortunately I don’t think I will ever be educated enough. Recently I realized that I needed to start writing down all the courses and programs I was in because I was getting confused with what was what, and basically just overwhelmed. I was also spending way too much money, after every mini conference or multi day conference there would be a program to join and I felt I had to try each one. Originally I just listened to the podcasts by Kirk, then I listened to what he always suggests and I reached out to his son Casey, i explained my situation to him and he gave me some suggestions on the courses he felt I should start with and to be honest I felt I needed them all. He gave great recommendations!! I knew I couldn’t afford them all so I explained that and he offered me a suggestion that worked. I started listening immediately and right away I was taking notes and I was laughing out loud while listening 🤣 I realized I didn’t get one of the courses that I really wanted, so I reached out to Casey again and within a couple hours the program was added to my account!!! This family is amazing, they really want to help. It’s not just about covering costs to them. If you have a strong willed child you need to listen to how Kitk describes one. I couldn’t believe how accurate it was or how hard I laughed. Thank you!!
-
Yoda0922AmazingI’m only 1/2 way through the first episode and I can already tell I have found the help I need. I literally think I am going through exactly what he did when his son was young with my son now. I don’t know how else to say thank you!!
-
WhitsonwhitEXCELLENTThese tips are so helpful and I love how straight to the point each episode is. Would highly recommend to anyone! And you can tell they truly care about helping parents and children!

America1938Kirk Gets ItI love this podcast, Kirk completely understands strong willed children and how their brains work. He also understands parents and the mistakes parents make trying to help them. Great tools
-
N MunozThis podcast is a mustLove this podcast. It’s seriously helping change my mindset about raising my awesome strong willed child. The only thing I would change is the length. I wish it was a little longer because sometimes I feel like it’s barely long enough and I’d like him to go a little deeper explaining things
-
Jamie Ponca CityTears FlowingWow! Short and perfect episodes! His Dad talk is so spot on and husband and wife. Something I could not put into words but he can. Praise! Tears!
-
Lb84BEST parenting podcast!!I have listened to A LOT of books, podcast, YouTube channels, etc about how to parent my high-needs child who is on the spectrum. This podcast has helped the most bc it’s not a bunch of clinical jargon or assume you are a mental health professional. Kirk not only has great info but it you listen consistently, even if the topic doesn’t apply to your exact situation, his energy and positivity will put you in a good mindset especially on those days when you are feeling hopeless…it has helped me repair our relationship!!
-
MelliamsburgHumorous truth with loveKirk has a way with words and really telling you off. Encouraging and inspiring. I don’t have a difficult child... I am the difficult child. Great reminders on how to be a better person and parent
