    Great content
I love the conversation but the random ad cuts ruin the experience every time. After 100+ episodes I can’t excuse the podcast not planning for ad breaks. Without fail an ad will interrupt a heated conversation every episode. Please plan for ads.

    Like all the new hosts
Still miss Eric. The show needs to be on top of hobbies category but that requires sacrifices like fixing audio blips, arresting James, having Jordan for the last time, and being more inclusive. Being the top podcast should mean being for everyone and maybe that means being less of yourself when one wants to say gay as a negative, might as well drop the n word as well and see how that goes. The lore is solid and the people are dope and with some more polish I hope this gets more mainstream outside of the games workshop communities and can bring even more people into this universe.

Quality podcast, spastic hosts, great times all around!
Started listening around September 2024, and am writing this review as I listen to episode 61. Loving the content so far and have, (Somehow, given Mark’s track record), been learning a lot about the 40k universe and am looking forward to getting into tabletop when I can afford it. Keep up the awesome work!

Great podcast; likable hosts and great explanations
Lorehammer is awesome! I have been trying to get into the universe more and their explanations are great. The hosts are funny and enjoyable. Can highly recommend.

    Qaulity issues
You need an editor to clean up the sound make it less script read and more loose of a format

    Great for 40K noobs
I love how the guys explain stuff. People liked to complain about them reading from wiki but that’s helpful. Even if they are referencing wiki or the codex it’s helpful for those of us who do commutes or don’t want to spend hours and hours reading or can’t afford to buy all the books. I definitely feel more well versed in the lore since listening to Lorehammer. 13 episodes in and can’t wait for more.

Showcase for a big issue in the 40k community
I wish I could enjoy this podcast, I really do. However I can’t get past the repeated and frequent homophobic and transphobic slurs. Inb4 “well get over it and stop listening” That’s not the point. This attitude propagates a gross and negative community around what is supposed to be a hobby for everyone to enjoy. All you need to do is look at their replies to comments or feedback sharing my sentiment and you’ll understand.
  • mountaintaylor
    So bad
The entire show is read from wikipedia and poorly, readers stumbling and mispronouncing everyday words. The main host uses ‘gay’ pejoratively

    Audio issues
I want to listen to this, I really do. And I’ve tried to. But the audio. You need to fix the audio.

2.5 stars would definitely recommend JK love the podcast
Just wanted to say I love the content. I just got into Warhammer myself and this podcast has really helped with the lore side of the hobby. I have started from episode one and will be working my way up. Also fellow electrician here and listen for 10 plus hours a day!!!

    Good times
Great Podcast, even when off topic at least it’s entertaining, as long as you don’t take yourself too serious you’ll love it, definitely want to see what the new episodes bring, this podcast really got me into 40k, before this I had only read the last chancers omnibus and space wolves omnibus, but now I’m going into the Horus heresy and beyond.

I wanted to like this podcast…
I wanted to like this podcast, but there’s way too much use of lgbtq slurs, rants against women, and wokeness. I overlooked it initially but it just became too much. Im older than mark and grew up when saying such things was common practice and it makes me cringe to listen to him. You really don’t need to lean left to have a basic respect for women and minorities. I cant in good conscience keep listening.

    Great but racist
Love the podcast. Really funny. Love the lore. Will say they did say green skin and that offended me (gets arm ripped off by green skin)

    Overview
Host: They are fun and goofy. Seem like normal guys overall. I would not say they are racist/sexist/homophobic, their opinions on those are reflecting the 40K universe. Lore: Starts out rough, but as time goes in the Lore really dials in and become pretty accurate. Yes some things are missing or wrong, but GW changes stuff all the time. Listenability: I personally enjoyed it; the group had good chemistry, the Lore is interesting, and quality is good. I would say this is not family friendly, just based of of cursing. Warhammer 40K in and of itself is not family friendly so do that with what you will. Overall: I would suggest this for someone who wants to casually jump into the world and learn about it. Also I doubt most of the negative reviews regarding (racist/sexist/homophobic host or incredibly inaccurate Lore) To make such a comment without listening to every episode would be an incomplete review.

    Great podcast!
My only criticism is that the microphone and sound quality is spotty sometimes and I hope it’s something that improves with time! Other then that this podcast is awesome!

    Tons of mistakes and misinformation
For a group of people running a pod called lorehammer, they know shockingly little about the actual lore and constantly spread wrong information. I started listening because I had read a number of the black library books and thought this pod would give a more in depth knowledge of niche topics. After a few episodes, I realize that they don't actually know the topics very well and the information they spread can't really be trusted.

    Great information! Bad sound quality
This podcast has been a great help as a newbie in my understanding of the vast Warhammer Universe, my only criticism is the sound quality. The commercials blow my ears off in volume and then the voices of the hosts are quite low, one or two of the hosts voices are even lower. Having to constantly adjusting the volume gets annoying.

    Love it
I’m listening to the podcast on Spotify while at work and absolutely love it! Sure they go off topic every once in a while but it adds to the podcast. I just finished episode 24 on the ecclesiarchy and it seems like one of the best episodes so far.

    Really great
I just recently got into warhammer and was looking for an exciting podcast to listen to to inform me on the lore and get me more educated on the subject. Little did I know that I would roll onto some of my favorite hosts in podcasting. The chemistry here was palpable and I was sad to see it end; Admittedly the fighting between Erik and Mark in the first couple dozen episodes got a little worrying but it seems like they came to some sort of solution off record!! Jokes aside Christian was easily my favorite guest for the chemistry he had with the team. Hope to see something similar like this in later days and will definitely be checking out pillow talk with Mark and B in the near future

    Too Much
Too much ableist, homophobic nonsense. Poorly researched and extremely slipshod. Occasionally amusing and insightful, not necessarily at the same time. Overall worth skipping.
  • Flex Drexler
    Good lore, amateur production
This feels like I’m listening to a few high schoolers who decided to make a podcast. The hosts can never stay on topic and this bloats the episode length. I don’t mind long episodes but when they’re long and barely on topic that’s just infuriating. I listen to podcasts while working at a lumber mill so I can’t exactly skip past tangents every time. Many of their jokes fall flat for me too, and I’m not even talking about the offensive stuff, I’ve been in the Warhammer community for long enough to expect some offensive humor, and while that’s not my cup of tea I’m going to whine about it. I’m just talking about the overall humor the hosts have, it feels like I’m listening to, again, high schoolers. Finally, the lore can be really good, but often the hosts argue points among themselves so it makes it seem like they don’t actually know what they’re talking about. Not exactly a mark of confidence to have each host “well actually” one another every few minutes. This isn’t the worst podcast in the world, but I’m sure there’s better if you just want to listen to lore.
  • Sloppybob987
    Misogynistic and homophobic
Man… I was having a good time listening and learning about the lore but then they started making very crude jokes about LGBT and feminists. Their joking about 40K being a neckbeard hobby was funny until I realized that they actually are and don't realize it.
  • kozmo7
    Unorganized
Tried to start this one but they hardly stay on topic and are all over the place. Maybe it gets better but solid pass for me.

Four for the Lore, Plus One for the Crying SJWs and Libs.
This is a solid four-star Warhammer 40k lore when they are able to stay on track; however, they often remind me of the old adage about attempting to herd cats. The audio also isn’t that great and it can be difficult to hear what they’re saying from time to time. I’m giving the show a five-star rating solely for all of the negative reviews by whiny liberals who believe that they should be able to police what words people use and want to ruin them for the heinous crime of WrongThink. And they’re ‘transphobic’ because they know that there are men and women, boys and girls, male and female and that you don’t get to pick which one you want to be. How dare they! Where’s Greta’s annoying butt to come cry and blame them for “climate change”? Any one that makes a bunch of whiny, petulant, idiotic SJWs call for the Waaaambulance while they shelter in place in their Safe Spaces gets a smile from me. Make them madder more often, cause them to cry themselves to sleep night after night, please and thank you.

When Canada sends their people, they don’t send their best
I wanted to like this show, but after # 39 where they joke “there are too many browns”, they finally convinced me I don’t have a place in their audience. I will now gladly get my lore somewhere else.
  • loricaridae
    Odious
Was enjoying until the negative comments about women. Not the community for me, sadly.
  • reviewer of nonsense
Relatively informed on Warhammer, exceptionally ignorant to the world around them
Most episodes seem to be somewhat coherent with constant interjections on if the hosts recall something correctly (making me feel as if they aren’t as researched as they should be) Aside from this, Mark and Erik strike me as the classic archetype of dudebros who decide to run a podcast in their quarter life crisis. This is only pushed by their edgelord humor and general conversations anytime they aren’t talking warhammer. Overall, while informative they feel like a representation of what the fandom should try to avoid. Their whole deal makes the fandom look bad

    Good lore podcast for beginners
Helpful for beginners who want to get into the lore without reading through the long codexes and books

A few guys arguing about warhammer and occasionally being on topic
I do like this podcast, it gave me a little more insight into the life as well as the consumer base but at the same time I saw the limits to the lore. Each one of the guys have their own opinion on what 40k “should be” even if the others let alone me as the listener disagree. So, a good thought podcast but does occasionally devolve into nonsense arguments.
  • minomserc
    Eric is the weak link
He is just smart enough to think he is smart, but so simple minded that he can only think from the perspective of exclusively himself. It becomes incredibly annoying when large swathes of the podcast are about thinking as a creature that is exclusively non-human. What makes it worse is that he is so bullish that he domineers most conversations on the show. Also seems fascist
  • cams a commie
    Good show and informative.
Funny seeing all the people wanting to censor them for words.
  • Kindridkin
    I just can't...
I'm not part of the woke culture, but the amount of vitriol these guys spout is appaling. They can't keep on track, and when they go off topic they tangent into homophobic and racist 'jokes.' Don't listen to these guys.
  • The Kenmeister
    Racist, Homophobic, Ableist Slurs
Title says it all. One of the hosts is quite prolific with hateful rhetoric and slurs. Incredibly disappointing, casts a pretty unsavory image on the warhammer community.
  • TennesseeBrit
A promising podcast undermined by ignorance
After being out of the GW hobbies for almost two decades, I sought out podcasts that talked about 40k’s rich lore, and this pod came to me as a suggestion. After a decent start, I started to notice a fair amount of pretty casual use of homophobic slurs, along with some pretty poor taste sexist jokes. I tried to move past these as the pod actually talked about the lore in a way that I was enjoying. However, after thirty odd episodes, the slurs were becoming more frequent, and not something I wanted to continue listening to, regardless of the content. After doing a little research into the background of the Podcast, it seems these attitudes do not change, and in the case of one host, doubling down on their behavior. Avoid.
  • Jeff618
    Good info but
I really wanted to like this podcast. I’ve been in the fandom for a bit and wanted a podcast that dives a bit deeper into the lore. This show definitely does that in a compelling way, but a lot of the jokes from older episodes didn’t age well. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, and try some later episodes, but nah it’s still there. One of the main hosts thinks it’s funny that he almost slipped up and said something racist, then the homophobic jokes start pour in a few minutes after. I’m out of this one. GG
  • Aha>LaCroix
    Woah momma so good
Everything about this podcast is awesome. They make the lore even more interesting and the dynamic between the hosts all the guests is professional quality. My only complaint is the dweebs that complain about them in the reviews. 10/10 recommend
  • Ha1hdj
    ExcitedNewcomer, left disappointed
was ready to learn a little bit about the lore, left feeling uncomfortable with all the casual homophobia, misogyny, and racism. really sad, cause they are decent storytellers but i can't tolerate some of the language they use.
