    Insightful, transparent, and inspiring
I have found Beyond The Studio extremely beneficial in navigating the art world. Not having a formal arts background, the insight shared by both guests and hosts has been such a valuable and inspiring source. The content resonates on so many levels. I appreciate the level of realness and transparency shared on the show. The guests are diverse and offer an enriching perspective of the many paths of an artist, but also on how to run a successful practice and the inevitable challenges that anyone running a creative practice will encounter. Looking forward to more great episodes from Amanda and Nicole!

    An Oasis in a desert
Recently found this podcast and am eagerly binging all back episodes. Amanda and Nichole are so engaging, entertaining, knowledgeable, open, vulnerable and passionate and talented. Their experience and energy have been a huge inspiration, comfort, useful and valuable to this artist-illustrator, who as a solo-entrepreneur realizes I can’t do this alone. This refreshing podcast feels like a network of artists friends and is introducing me to other networks and artists who share resources. Look forward to every episode, feels like splashing water on my face on a hot day, prefect energizer while I’m working alone in my studio. Thank you!!!!

    Straight Dope from Working Artists
An authentic and enlightening podcast from two working artists who talk honestly about the financial realities of building a practice and a business as a professional artist. Good information for anyone who is out here trying to make an actual living in the visual arts.

    Great podcast!
All the non-art parts of making art, so thoughtfully approached! Full disclosure I have been a guest on the podcast. Also I really respect and enjoy the work that Nicole and Amanda have done and the curiosity and openness they bring to thinking holistically about artistic practice.

    Making the impossible possible
I found you like a tiny grain of sand on the beach, unique and beautiful. You demystify and clarify the ocean of confusion and you open the closet doors and let the bones come tumbling out. Thank you.

    So helpful
Been listening for a while and it just keeps getting better and better! Best of all it has a feel of artists truly wanting to help other artists, as opposed to others that feel like they are trying to make money off of fellow artists.

Beyond the Studio goes beyond expectations
Amanda and Nicole have a unique bond that is complimentary to their passion for art in this podcast. They are both encouraging and realistic when it comes to making and selling art. For me art is a lifestyle that I have to live, it’s not a hobby and these young women help support that ambition with education and experience. Please continue! It’s much appreciated.

A good podcast for emerging artists
Since the first episode I’ve been sharing this podcast with my friends. It’s so important to hear a down to earth conversation, but sensible to the different realities and processes that artists go through. Puertorican listener 🇵🇷

    Honest, Inspiring and Entertaining!
I found this podcast through Close Call Studio, as I’m a huge fan of Amanda’s work. As a freelancer trying to make a living through various creative avenues, this podcast has been invaluable. I have learned so much about organizing, setting boundaries, following your instincts and so much more. It’s a must listen for anyone who is already a working artist, or someone who is considering a career as an artist. Heck, give it a listen regardless - you’ll understand more about the work that goes into being a full-time artist!

    A great studio podcast
This is a great podcast for artists! I started listening while I paint in my studio, and I love it because it makes me feel connected to other makers. Most/many of us work alone, and it’s so nice to have audio art companions to remind me there are others out there working through the same stuff I am. Great advice and wisdom sprinkled in too, from big picture stuff to nuts and bolts. Highly recommend!!!

    Insightful and honest conversation
I came across the podcast after my friend’s suggestion and I’ve been binge listening to the episodes as the conversations are very relevant to especially the young, emerging creatives who are still navigating through the art world and trying to find their own ways to sustain their practice. As an artist myself, there are things that I’ve connected with, learned from and inspired by these honest conversation. I am very impressed by William Deresiewicz and other great lineups of guests on the podcast as well!

    Highly recommend!!
This is my favorite podcast for artists! I listen to quite a few artist/art-business podcasts, and I think that what puts Beyond the Studio so far above other podcasts is the amount of research and preparation that Amanda and Nicole put in ahead of each episode. So many other shows’ hosts simply ask a series of generic questions and then expect their guest to do most of the heavy-lifting, resulting in podcast episodes of uneven depth and quality. It seems like Amanda and Nicole go into each episode with extensive knowledge of what each artist has to offer, and they ask questions tailor-made to spotlight specific career advice based on that artist’s experiences. Each episode seeks to help artists define their own path to success AND how to stay on that self-determined path.

Highly Educational/helpful & Also just a good listen
This podcast has been exploding my brain for the past few weeks. I've been going through an almost second coming of age recently as I realize that I can make good art but I have so much learning to do in running a business or just understanding how business works. This podcast is amazing, educational, & I highly recommend it. I've been maintaining a studio practice in Massachusetts for the last 4 years & I've just now moved studios to Boston. Its been a ride. so thanks !

Career-minded discussions that encourage pro-social thinking. Great production, so it’s easy to listen to. Most of all, these conversations are forward-thinking and practical, philosophical and genuine. Let’s make an art world that works for artists! Generous business advice
This podcast is the best for business advice for artists. I listen to a lot of podcasts while I work and this is one of my favorites because I get to hear from young working artists that are figuring things out in today’s art world, the conversations reveal helpful information about diverse income streams and other must-dos for most artists, and the hosts are generous with this info. There is not a sales pitch about buying a business course, just real info from real artists.

    Wonderful + approachable
I’m really grateful to have found this podcast. I’ve struggled with so many of the topics that are discussed in these episodes since graduating art school ten years ago, and it’s been huge to hear other artists talk about them and how they made it through. Thank you, Amanda and Nicole, for bringing this all together! I think you’re helping more people than you know.

    Like therapy
This podcast is like therapy for artists who are tired, overworked, confused...and generally struggs to funct (i.e., me/all of us). It's refreshing to hear everyday people talk about how they're making their creative lives work, what they prioritize, what their relationship to money and business is, etc. Excited Beyond the Studio is coming to the Bay Area, because it's tough as nails out here in millionaire techlandia! Keep up the great work.

    Fun, Entertaining, Frank Conversation
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Each episode thoroughly covers a different aspect of how to make a sustainable professional art practice. A lot of conversation is centered on east coast happenings, particularly Baltimore. Hopefully there will be more content that expands from there.

    Great Podcast
This is a great podcast for anyone interested in being an artist! It’s so hard to navigate this open ended profession, and the best way to know about opportunities and advice is to hear from others in the field. There is so much out there that’s unknown! Thanks for starting the conversations, Nicole and Amanda!
