PuppyQuestion123Question: puppy doesn’t eatHi! I love your podcasts! I just brought my puppy home, and I’ve had lots of success implementing your advice. Quick question: how do I stop puppy whining? He’s usually quiet during the day (like, hardly makes a sound), but then he’ll whine for 2 hours straight during the night. I’m not sure what to do. We also have a problem because my puppy refuses to eat. We’ve bought about 5 bags of kibble, tried the puppy meals that companies send ready to eat, and even give him salmon, beef, pork, chicken and lamb that we cook. He refuses to eat the all and we have to hand feed him. What should I do? Thank you!

sallygorpVery clear and informativeI’m thinking about getting a dog and this is an awesome podcast. She is so clear and knowledgeable and has a very easy voice to listen to. Even for non-dog owners I think it has a lot of information about dog ownership nowadays which is important. I’m actually leaning against getting a dog because she lays out all it entails (no pun intended) and I think it’s good that she’s honest for the sake of the dog.

WillownotwillowPreparing the Whole FamilyThis podcast has been the best tool when it comes to preparing myself, my partner, and my young children for bringing our puppy home. My seven-year-old is feeling pretty anxious about bringing a sharp tooth, jumpy puppy home, even though she grew up with a dog until last year when we said goodbye to our dog. Over the past month, my daughter and I have been listening to this podcast together (she is always eager to turn it on on the ride home from school) and it’s given us tons of great ideas about how to live with and care for a puppy. We feel like we have lots of tools in our puppy tool belt! My daughter told she is feeling much less nervous about her new furry housemate and it’s all thanks to this podcast. For real, it has been invaluable!!! I appreciate Debbie’s podcast so much and will continue devouring it over the next several months. Thank you so much for creating this and preparing my family for our exciting and challenging new dog adventure!

SadieDumplingSo helpful, an episode for every puppy problem!I have been devouring every episode as I learn how to deal with our new puppy. I appreciate the short and digestible format with easy-to-implement tips. Debbie’s suggestions are working really well and have changed the way we are handilng our puppy for the better. Best of all, I joined the puppy academy on her website and have found it very helpful as well for an incredibly reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Ilh369Must have for new puppy owners!I’ve listened to almost every episode of this podcast! It is a must listen for new puppy owners. Debbie explains concepts in an easy to digest way. We ended up signing up for the Playtime Paws Academy, which has been vital to getting us where we are today! The Your Perfect Puppy course helped us get off on the right foot (we started this one even before we got our puppy). The weekly Q&A and Communities helped with answering questions specific to our pup and were very timely. Debbie also offers to review videos of certain behaviors to help come up with a solution tailored for you. One of our biggest challenges was crate training. And with Debbie's help we got from 30+ minutes of non-stop barking in the crate to settling within a minute now!

Pixelz345Excellent, bite size training tipsI love how Debbie explains things clearly, concisely and thoroughly without taking forever and she provides examples. Longer episodes can feel intimidating because I feel like I will miss important information if I get busy or distracted during an episode. Here are bite size, easy to search through if I want to review a topic and entertaining. I love it!

Mabel’s mommyThe best and all you need to prepare for a pupThis podcast I listen to on my way to work and on my way home. It’s so good. Everything you need to know about training your puppy well. I feel so prepared. Debbie gets straight to the core of it. She doesn't waste time telling stories before getting to the nest , like some podcasters do. Highly highly recommend !!

Gerajn01So much I didn’t realize I didn’t know 😱Podcast is full of information and every bit of it is helpful! Definitely leaves you wanting a tiny bit more but we have to remember she’s also running a business 😉 definitely going to check out her online training program. Lena liveinpositivitySo grateful! When I was surprised with two German shepherd littermates, the overwhelming feeling of my entire life being flipped upside down sunk in. I started googling myself into a black hole, especially when 90% of resources only talk about the bad scenarios of littermates. My anxiety was at a 10, and when I found this podcast it took it down to at least a 6 (lol). Honestly I love this podcast so much. It has given me such amazing starting points and advice, and I love the behavior focus of understanding why dogs are the way they are. Thank you one thousand times! I started listening when I had 9 week old puppies back in June, and now I have 18 week old smart cookies that are in a much better place than they would be without my discovery of Debbie. :)

By explaining the logic behind the behaviors and solutions, she helps owners understand the whole picture. Things are going very well with our 6-month old after 4 months following her advice.

Kristi GAExcellent information!I'm new to puppyhood and was so nervous to bring my new puppy home. Debbie helped me feel prepared and provided many actionable tips to help our pup settle in. Day 5, and we're off to a great start with crate training, potty training and she has learned to sit on command! This has been a fantastic bridge until our trainer can start working with her next month!

nc_milFun and HelpfulI am bringing home my first puppy of my own in two weeks. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me, but listening to your insight and tips has me so excited for the rewarding challenge ahead. 16runnergirl16THANK YOU DEBBIE!!This podcast is fantastic! A few weeks ago I brought home a golden retriever puppy who loves to chew, nip, and hates his crate. Debbies pointers are so easy to implement and I’m so happy to say we’ve made so much progress since bringing him home. Thank you so much Debbie for teaching me how to bond with my pup and make him a confident and well-trained dog!
-
louis_So happy I found this podcast!Debbie is a pro at clear, concise tips for you to follow. We love listening to her bite-sized information that is so essential and really makes me think about why a dog acts like a dog! We’re welcoming a new puppy into the home in a month, so this has made us feel a lot more prepared. Plus, a friend of ours who’s been following the guidance of this podcast for her new puppy has been having excellent results. Thank you for your hard work and empathy towards both humans and dogs ❤️ I’ve been recommending this to all our friends with both puppies and adult dogs.

reetsiecupIf you have a puppy or are thinking of getting one....LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST!! I’ve been in animal work for over 25 yrs and I’ve learned so much from this podcast! Debbie made me the example that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! I currently have a 6 month old goofy, sweet and VERY LARGE labradoodle/shep/boxer cross and a 4mos Australian shep/lab/Chesapeake bay cross. This podcast has been a lifesaver!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this!! 💜💜💜
-
whatisthis.........New puppy owners must listen! This has been so helpful after my husband and I adopted a golden retriever puppy! The episodes are short, sweet, and to the point. I appreciate that the tips/tricks are not over the top and are achievable for just about anyone.
-
thebrookebellExactly What I Needed! As a first time puppy owner, this was the peace of mind that I needed to get educated and feel confident around my new family member. Must listen for first timers!
-
sammie2020Love the advice on this podcastWe listened to basically every available episode in 2019 before we got our first puppy. I still go back for a refresher on certain topics and I listen to the new ones even though our dog is now 2yrs old! Much of it is still applicable because we are never “done” training our dog. All of Debbie’s advice aligns with the positive methods we have used to train our dog and it has worked out really well. I can’t tell you all the times we get compliments on how friendly and well behaved our pup is. Even the vet is so impressed. I also like the downloads that are available on the website. And the way Debbie explains topics about dog behavior is easy, straightforward and non-judgemental. I knew very little about dog behavior before this. Highly recommend giving this podcast a listen no matter the age of your dog!! But (spoiler alert) YOU still have to put in the work to train your dog every day!
-
Critic 411So helpful! (Ignore the FEW bad reviews)Found this podcast after my (first) meltdown during potty training. Binged every episode after! Such great and practical info in digestible little episodes. I’ll often listen over and over until I’m sure how best to approach a situation with my new pup! I looked at some bad reviews out of curiosity and they all went along the lines of her not being informative enough or specific enough (not usually true!) but please keep in mind this is her business. You can pay for one on one training and programs with her and thats her career. We should be grateful she gives so much great info for free rather than criticizing the info she retains for her paying customers!
-
Katieh2osThe best puppy podcastI started listening to this a few months ago before we got our new puppy. Before him, we only had a rescue that we got as a 3 year old so this was a lot of firsts for us. This podcast helped us to manage our puppy’s behaviors and integrate him with our other pets. I loved it so much, I even took the puppy class that she offers on her website. Honestly, can’t get enough!
-
